DO NOT USE TERMINEX. They do not deliver consistent results, they do not return calls, they promise to perform retreatment if customer is not satisfied. This never happens. If you call them, you cannot speak to anyone from local franchise. The Terminix call line is impossible to have a legitimate conversation with an intelligent individual. TERMINIX IS A JOKE - AND IT'S ON YOU. Imagine this: You have paid for two annual inspection and servicing insurance policies for the last 22 years after they first tented the house in 1998. You have experienced spotty professionalism during that time, with repeatedly being stood up time after time after time after...The Salinas branch crashes and burns due to who they hire so I can only get a rep from Monterey. Time passes. Salinas seems to get its act together. Then I discover a huge wood post and cross beam that supports a corner of my house infested by very hungry drywood termites. The Salinas Branch manager, Ozzy, and head rep, Jose, inspect the exterior problem area multiple times and dictate the house indeed shall be tented. They send a new trainee "tent inspector set-up guy" to show me how to prepare for the tenting adjacent to the house. He says Yes, we can tent your house if you do A, B & C. It's a big job to take apart a house attached big gate and attached electrical conduit, remove decking and supports and part of a stair, but I hire out to do it. I am in my 70's and it's stressful and time-consuming. I understand that of course, that is my part of the expense to shoulder. I still worry. I am skeptical and prior to the demo, I call the tenting subcontractor weeks in advance and plead with them to send their guy to inspect - which Terminix said I should expect. No response. The morning of the tenting the subcontractor takes one look at my house and says there is NO WAY we can do this without a major demo of your decking and railing and front fencing. Maybe $15,000 of demo. It's not subtle. By following Terminix's directions, I am left with a demolished gate, decking, supports and stair with nothing to show for it. EXCUSE ME? I spend over $533 taking it apart and putting it back together again. Does Terminix think they should be held accountable for what I do at their direction? NO. I am told that's how their rep learns and see a shrug when a rep comes to do a liquid treatment instead. Yeah, learns at my expense! What excuses do the Terminix managers who came out and said the house could be tented have? Not even an apology. I wrote a letter (copies available) and Ozzy Lopez the branch manager said for me to expect a resolution last week, but today he delegates to another Terminix rep, who lied to me before, to tell me no,Terminex won't pay the $533. This $263 annual contract for tenting comes with a 100% money-back guarantee? Hah! I want that reimbursed as well...oh no, they just want to put that towards another year of "service" with them. Why would I continue to use them? I hear "we will get back to you". With this Terminix Salinas crew mediocrity would be a step up. Readers, they are not finished with me. P.S. Before the faux tenting attempt, last fall, Ozzy, the branch manager, just quipped out of the blue that oh oh, he walked into the office and there were beer cans all over the table. Please do not use this company. Waste of money. We were sold a bill of goods by Oswald Lopez who was going to "secure" our home for us. Rubber stripping on the garage, check under the deck etc etc. LIES. There was no stripping added to the garage. You can still see easy access points for rodents. We actually had mice after this $1200 scam had been completed and when we called to let them know....no answer. No reply emails. Branch manager was just as non-existent. We got the backyard upgraded this year and removed the deck...guess what we found? Holes in the wire mesh where the mice were getting under the house. That was the second LIE Lopez told us. Looks like no one went under the house to patch them up as promised. We recently got a bill for the continued "exclusion" coverage??? Are you kidding me!? I called to cancel all Terminix services and a phone representative was very pleasant and apologetic. She said she'd contact this branch and have the manager reach out. Not sure whats going on with Terminix, but they have canceled two of my appointments without notifying me. They claim that they no longer do Mosquito services in my area. I have been on the phone numerous times to try and get this fixed, each time they promise to call me back, with NO results. Terrible service! We paid for service and made a appointment for the next day. They gave us a four hour window. The service guy Jaun came out sprayed the inside of the house in 10 minutes and left with out doing the outside of the house. I called the service number to have him come back and they said sorry we can't get a hold of him or his supervisor. They set up a second appointment for the following day from 5-7 pm the service guy called at 735 and said I'm not going to make it. I'll come tomorrow. I called to complain and all we get is a run a round. No supervisor call back no nothing. Ken Raymond the supervisor was to call me back and nothing. Poor service and poor work ethics. read more

If I could give Terminix zero stars I would. I am not sure where to start with our disappointment with your service. First of all, the exclusion team didn't even attempt to clean out and disinfect our crawlspace. There were dead rats left on the floor, all of the insulation was left despite the fact half of it was hanging down and had rat feces and urine on it. The workers put two holes in my ceiling. I could also go into how ripped off I feel that the insulation service lefts gaps and thinly layered product in the attic. We were sold 11" and areas have barely 5" or there is no insulation at all. Then after the inspection team came back to remove insulation and disinfect after my HVAC team told me how nothing had been done and I was lied to, they left old insulation up that when taken down this morning there were rat holes and urine in it and 7 bags of what they did take down in sitting in the crawlspace for my team to work around. I am not really sure what we paid for. $3600 to get ripped off. I thought the disinfection process meant more than buying a cleaner at the grocery store like I use in my home. The worst part is we have been without heat for three weeks because our system wasn't safe to use. We are having our HVAC team install a new furnace and ductwork this week and because Terminix had held us up, we have to wait another week until the team can come out again to finish our heating project because this needs done before the new ductwork can go in. I honestly don't even trust your company to do their job any longer. I love how the sales rep tries to make you feel guilty for them going out of their way. Do you know how sad it is to wrap your toddler up in your arms layered in blankets because he is crying from the cold? Do you know what it feels like to pay $3600 to still live in a health hazard? Not only that, we are now left without heat for Thanksgiving. One thing I am not thankful for is your company. I would love a call from a corporate representative to contact me and to fix this issue or refund our money. $3600. We are out of money and left out in the cold. Shame on you. read more

I am very disappointed with he Branch Manger Oswald he is unprofessional and unresponsive. Never had an issue with the technician it just wasn't working for us. I canceled my service and they still came out I was charged so requested a refund. I was offered a free treatment but declined Oswald agreed to provide me a refund 4 months later I still have not received a refund and this coward of a Branch manager refuses to return my calls. I definitely will be reporting to The Better Business Bureau. Do not use this service if this Manager is still in charge he does not know how to return calls very unprofessional. I am currently having a poor experience with this Terminix branch. I called them a week ago to schedule a termite inspection for a VA loan refinance. I was told by their operator that someone would call me back that day, that Saturday, or that Monday. No one called, so I called back on Monday to try and schedule. I told the operator that time is of the essence since I'm in the middle of the refinancing but it didn't help. No one called. I called back Wednesday and Thursday with the same result. I called again on Friday and informed the operator I would be calling another company for the inspection. Now, I have a contract with Terminix, so if this other company finds termites, Terminix will be obligated to exterminate them. I was able to schedule an inspection with the other company. I did receive a call from the local Terminix person. I informed him I would be using another company and of my level of disappointment with the experience. He proceeded to tell me that I needed to understand the scheduling process, etc. he wasn't listening to my concerns and was starting to get testy. I hung up on him. He called back and left a message telling me I was rude. Oh well. When you treat a customer poorly, as they are, don't expect anything good. read more

These guys are getting better. I have had two houses under contract with Terminex Salinas for the past 10 years, From Years 1 to Years 6 they were "Horrible"- didn't show for appointments, no communications with the customer, sloppy work, etc. Years 7 to 9 they upgraded to just "Bad". (Don't ask why I stayed with them- just a masochist, I guess...) Now, they are "pretty good". Specifically, rodent control technicians Robert Chavez and Nestor Morales have always been on time and solved my rodent problems at both properties in terms of sealing the property (the "exclusion" process) and in removing deceased rats and setting new traps. Termite Technician Ray Jonte-Saiz has also been prompt and effective regarding my termite issues. I don't know what's happening down at the Salinas office, but I hope that they keep it up... At a time when precise and timely services were needed we got neither of these from Terminix ---from the salesman, technicians and managers all were unreliable, non responsive, rude and infuriating. The home of a young woman with a developmental disability and a traumatic brain injury was found to have been invaded by bed bugs. Just the word 'bed bugs' brings fear and trepidation to 99% of the population. This woman had 24 hour support by a team of 9-10 individuals who come in and out of the house in the course of a week. Enter Terminix who inspects and promises speedy work to rid the house of the little monsters. From then on it has been a nightmare. Initial spray done more than a week after initial inspection. Oh and I forgot to mention the initial inspector sells to me an $1100 contract paid in advance to take care of the problem. The first time someone comes to Check after the spray he does a cursory look around and says the house is clear. Hallelujah she can move back into her bedroom from the couch in the living room. Next morning as her assistant is getting her up she sees a live bug on the bed. They call me very upset-- I call the initial salesman and he says "we never clear a house after one spray -- that guy didn't know what he was talking about -- let me call and get someone out there to spray again." That was 4 weeks ago and there have been a series of no shows and no call appointments, wrong technician being sent to the property who doesn't spray for bed bugs and numerous calls to supervisors and laisons with no action taken. We are now demanding that they honor the money back guarantee so we can really get the work done. The nightmare continues. I would recommend that no one hire this company to do any service at their home. Never work with Terminix !!!! I couldn't post this unless I have them at least one star but that is a lie. This divison of terminex has done a terrible job of communicating and every time I try to call them I get a call center in San Diego. Their pricing initially was $500 more than Orkin and $1000 more than Clark until I beat on them to get close. Their Inspector and sales person was always tardy calling back and the number of nights I had to stay in a hotel was more that they said thus raising the cost to me. I would not suggest using them and once this is over I will probabley drop their service. Watch out they talk very good and deliver poorly. read more

Terrible service - damages occurred when they treated our home for termites. Even though we attempted to resolve on several occasions they never addressed our concerns. We also had their regular pest controls service and discontinued it as a result of those problems. Now they continue to harass us by phone and mail indicating we owe them for a regular service - $125.00. When we have attempted to call and discuss this with them, they don't answer and don't call back. Now they are threatening to send us to collections. Please don't use them. read more

We had another, "local" company inspect our 80 year old house, and the report they came up with was ridiculous re the wood repairs and - of course - exorbitant repair cost quoted. We then called Terminix, and got what our General Contractor said was a realistic report and recommendations. What the "other" company quoted at $10k we got done for less than $2k. We called to have a rodent inspection as I stated in my initial call I heard rats in the attic. When the (salesman) person showed up and did a walk through the entire house, even though I specified again we were after rodents in the attic not termites, he sat down and went through a litany of options on signing us up for a pest control plan at $$$$ of dollars and no matter how hard I tried to just talk about the rats (he told me they could take care of them as well, he was busy selling me something I didn't want or call for while simultaneously asking for positive feedback on the follow up call we would be receiving to grade his (sales) abilities to help us with our problem. Long story short, they did nothing for us except send us a lovely e-mail with options to purchase a pest protection plan. We have since killed 3 large rats and 12 babies, traps, peanut butter, and no plan required. I wouldn't waste my time calling unless you're looking for a pest plan and have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. read more

Like a lot of other reviewers we had the same problem with them actually arriving for the scheduled appointments. Four times we had to reschedule and they NEVER showed up, called, sent smoke signals... nothing! The company would arbitrarily set an appointment without confirming with us after they missed appointments that were set up by us. On 9/4/18 I called for free (as advertised) possible termite inspection. They said they could come 9/5 between hours 3-5pm, perfect! Jose was the tech. At 4:20 pm, call called to confirm Jose was still coming. With very much confidence, person answering phone saw me still on schedule & said 'yes' anytime between now & 5:00 pm with no hesitation. At 5:20, no call, no show from Jose, I called again. Person who answered phone said she would try to contact Jose, pls hold. Came back on line, said she tried his manager & Jose, no answer from either. She left a message to escalate this unfortunate issue, apologized & couldn't understand why this happened. As of now, 9/6/18, 5 pm, I have not received any call back from anyone explaining why this might have happened. It doesn't matter since I've rescheduled with another pest company but it's pretty unacceptable customer service. I already know that my porch needs rebuilding. I had 2 other neighbors needing work too so this could have been profitable for them. read more

I had my house fumigated for the first time and was a bit nervous about the process. Gus G. was the area specialist who assisted me. He explained the process, provided information on what to expect and how to get ready for the big event. The fumigation process went through without a snag and was surprised how easy it was aside from spending a couple of nights at a family members house. I also changed my pest control service over to Terminix and received a better deal on my services. Art my technician is great and always comes in and spends a few minutes with me going over the process and how it can change according to the season. I referred my neighbor who also got fumigated and received a $100 dollar referral award. Win! Win! if you ask me. read more

I just had inspector from Terminix come to inspect 2 localized, potential termite infestation areas. Benjamin provided me with a professional, honest opinion and indicated that due to the sparse accumulation of droppings, he felt that it was not likely an indication of infestation, since I had adjacent areas treated me years ago. He recommended to keep an eye on it. Benjamin was very professional, friendly, but most of all, his honesty was appreciated. Many other inspectors would simply prescribe a treatment. Absolutely terrible service. Had a pretty severe flea problem and made an initial appointment with them. After not showing up within the window period for the service and SEVERAL failed attempts to contact the service manager ( an actual rock would preform better at his job) they just never came out. Never gave me any phone calls back or service at all. Useless branch that is absolutely terrible at communication and even worse at conducting any sort of business. Do not recommend at all if you actually want somebody to show up at your home. read more

I had the same experience as Jonathan S. Wish I had read his YELP review first before signing a year's contract for $1600.00. A total rip off! They sent out this young sales guy to sell the "exclusion" package which was supposed to get rid of rodents under the house. On their first visit, they spent about an hour sealing access holes with foam and setting traps. This specialized team was supposed to return initially every few weeks, according to the sales guy, to check the traps and reset them. That didn't happen. A couple of weeks later I noticed that the weather stripping under the garage door was chewed away. Obviously the exclusion team missed some holes. So I call the main number to set up an appointment and after speaking to a two customer service representatives, I find out that I paid $1600.00 for this specialized exclusion team to ONLY seal access holes and that my regular ant-spraying technician who comes to the house every three months, is able to check the traps and reset them. Apparently, this was a service that was always available to me with my regular technician. The regular ant-spraying technician has always been great! Perhaps I never had to sign up for the exclusion service. Much of the frustration with this company is trying to get a hold of the local manager to set up an appointment which you need to do through their headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee or other locations. I say, 'other locations' because every time I call I get a different person in a different state. And when you think you are speaking to the next level up, you aren't. You are just being transferred to another customer service representative in another state who has to ask you once again for your customer number, and explaining your story all over again. The representatives I spoke with left emails with the local manager to contact me so that I could make an appointment for the exclusion team to return and seal the missed access holes. The manager was supposed to call within 24 hours. Four days later, still attempting to get a message through via their headquarters for him to call me. Here's a tip: ask the customer service rep for the phone number to their Executive Services. Hopefully the buck stops here and your problems will be solved. I'm currently waiting for Executive Services to contact my local manager. If you aren't able to talk to someone locally, then the company is too big which means, not very personalized service. I would recommend going with a local pest control service. read more

I attempted to schedule an inspection for a pest issue I was dealing with at my home. I was informed an appointment had been scheduled but on the day of the appointment no one ever showed up. I called the company and was informed that the appointment had been "requested" but not actually scheduled. Confused, I asked to schedule another appointment, hoping that this one would actually come through. I was informed the company was booked several weeks out. Well, as much as I love animals I have no desire to live with mice. I was told that a manager would call me and resolve the issue. Not surprisingly no one ever called me. So while calling the company back, still hoping to schedule an appointment, I was hung up on and had to go through the phone tree again. Once I finally got through to a manager I was still told I had to wait for 2+ weeks for a technician. So I called Clark Pest Control and got an appointment for the following day. read more

Terminex Santa Cruz was very quick to respond to our request. It was just as quick to take our money. Then all communication stopped. They came to the house without notifying us. They consistently missed dates and times the committed to arriving. Even when directly communicating via the telephone Terminex could not keep communication straight. We made an appointment for 8 AM, told them not to call the night before. In fact, they called the night before and did not arrive at the house until 10 minutes to 10 AM just before the close of the 8 -10 arrival window. We had explicitly told them 8:30 was the latest they could arrive and still be able to get into the house. Finally, they have not provided any post extermination report. I guess we should be happy the pests have been removed but the horrible communication failures have dampened our enthusiasm for Terminex Santa Cruz. Beware when requesting Terminex Santa Cruz services they are very undependable communicators. read more
