COMPANY CAUSED PROPERTY DAMAGE We used this company and when we came back home we found portions of our planter box taken apart and strewn across the lawn like they ran over it in a van and ignored it. We have a steep dirt drive that they left metal piping on that we were lucky we just missed driving up to the house. When we got to the house we found that they had broken a key off in our front door and had to go around back just to get in. I can and will repair the broken items, but I worked construction for years and I can't imagine going to someone's house and treating it that way. The company is not respectful of property and left the place worse than they found it. Will not use again and would not recommend. read more

I'd argue that this is the worst Terminix branch on the Central Coast, maybe even across Northern California, maybe even in the entire state of California. We received several proposed dates and times for fumigation services, but never confirmed an official date with the office. We suggested a date/time and even called and sent messages multiple days beforehand for confirmation, but we never heard from them. Half an hour before the proposed time for fumigation services, we received a message saying they were on the way. We needed the service done ASAP and did not want to cancel, so we scrambled to get household items sealed and stored properly. After the fumigation service was completed, we checked on the home to see that the crew broke our attic door and knocked over our extra large flower pots (and left the shattered ceramic everywhere). They provided no compensation for damages. They also signed us up for an annual Terminix membership for some reason. When we called to cancel, the membership employee spent well over 10 minutes trying to convince us that we were making a mistake. We maintained that Terminix was not a good fit for our needs, and the employee became incredibly terse and rude. If you like general organizational chaos, lack of communication, clumsy crews, and hostile customer service, this place is for you. I want to preface this review with the fact that they came out and treated the ant problem and got rid of the ants. The reason I am writing a one star review today is because when I called to cancel the service back in December after being on hold for almost 30 minutes and dealing with three different representatives, I was assured that my service was canceled. Today I received another bill and had to call back again and was assured my service would be canceled again. I don't know that it will be but all I know is that even though I canceled the service they decided to arbitrary reinstate my service and not tell me and then send me a bill for service. Anthony Garcia came to do the rodent exclusion on my home in Marina and he did an excellent job. I had been thinking of dropping Terminix because of a bad experience but Anthony changed my mind! He found the place rodents were entering my home, and excluded them, rebaited traps, did some weather stripping and resealed and checked everything. If you need someone who is really good from Terminix, I would defintely request Anthony, he was very knowledgable, professional, and a credit to the business. Here's what Anthony Found: 1. Places where rodents were entering in the foudnation 2. Resealed the Crawl Space 3. Checked and baited traps 4. Sealed areas in the garage 5. Weather Stripped the Door 6. Fixed a hole where the rodents had gnawed through drywall in the ceiling 7. Repaired multiple places in the eaves and roofline where rodents had entered with metal wire. Anthony pointed out one place where the roof had a little fungus, and I was able to let the housing department know about it. He was also the first person to tell me rodents were getting in around the slab. If you have trouble with rodents and live in the Marina/Monterey area, I would request Anthony Garcia. I wish I could rate this company a zero; However because yelp doesn't give you that choice, I have to do a one. I have had Given Terminix plenty of opportunities to make things right, they have said they spray and get ride of spiders, ants and other pests, ex tick and fleas. We last had our regular pest control appointment on 7-31-23. In the report Francisco Garcia wrote that there was no Ants' .. we have ants Francisco, I called all week to complain about our bug issue, no one will call me back. Also have other complaints of customers in my neighborhood as well about similar issues. Called today to Cancel my service and will be looking for another provider that can do the job. ZERO starts if I could. I am a long-time customer. This company started out well enough. I used the monthly pest control and mosquito service for several years. I came to trust the technician who normally came to my home while the family was at work. I happened to be home for the last scheduled mosquito service. I thought it was weird that the technician hadn't arrived during his window, nor had he text with an arrival time. Later that afternoon I received a text that the service had been completed and my card on file billed. I was surprised I missed him as I was home and waiting for him. I text the tech, no response. I checked my 9 cameras around the property only to learn he hadn't arrived. I reached out online to the Terminix who promised me a response within 48 hours. After waiting 4 days with no response, I reached out again to be told they could do nothing and that I should expect a response within 48 hours. They were very apologetic but unable to help in any way. Oh wait, they did offer me a $40 credit towards future service (which doesn't cover the cost I paid for no service received). I declined and asked for a refund. Beware if you are not able to monitor the service, you may not be getting what you pay for. Also, if you do not receive the service, getting help from the online help team is a joke. I do not recommend you waste your money. read more

Way Way overpriced for the work they do. eg. The "rodent exclusion" plan cost $1800 for a couple hours work my handy man could have done for $50. Wire mesh poorly placed over 4 vents. The sales representative said all the rat fecies would be cleaned up, but he said he couldn't because he was too big to get into the crawl spaces. I asked if he couldn't have at least vacuumed it out... got a shrug. I'm definitely going to cancel the annual service and just put out a few rat traps. read more

The company was very responsive to coming out to inspect the house in Morgan Hill. After inspection, we scheduled time to lay a vapor barrier under the house and tent the house for termites. The work was done timely, and of course they were paid timely! Following a re-inspection, I was unable to get a report that said we've been paid, the work we did, and that we do not see any pests. I've called 3 times. A report was sent to the address, not my billing address or my email. The report was forwarded to a second address and then reforwarded to me. AND IT WAS NOT THE REPORT I REQUESTED. It said we paid a fraction of what was paid, and we consigned the remaining work to others. Hello! I hired you and your are responsible for the entire job! Terminix came out to my residence to do there job by spraying and removing my spider webs. Juan came at 12:01 and left my residence at 12:18 however my bill stated he came at 11:58 and left at 12:39. The job Juan did was not even what was expected of this company to complete. You need to be home in order to manage there employee to ensure that the do there job. Why pay a company for me to manage there employee in completing what is expected from this company. Don't bother speaking to Blake his response was that they can't reimburse you your money for a half ass job, but I can go out with him to see how he does his job. We contracted for termite traps and paid monthly from our credit card. After 7 months they suddenly took out an extra $40 a month. I called when I noticed the mistake, but they still took it out for another 3 months. I finally cancelled the service, and requested a refund. Oscar, the local manager, spoke to me once, then wouldn't return any calls. It's been 4 months and they haven't reimbursed any of the money, and no one but the first-line phone reps. will talk to me. Do I have to give them one star? I feel like zero should be an option. They do not communicate and almost killed my mother. Horrible communication. Calls go to a generic contact center and not a local person. They did service on my mom's house and never communicated that they had completed the work when they were supposed to be done (while she's staying in a nearby hotel, mind you), then when we called to see why they weren't done, they said they were. She checks out and goes home and the tent is still on the house. So another night at the hotel. No communication or explanation, just removed the tent the next day. During the service, they turn off the pilot light and lock/bolt the garage doors and mom can't get into the garage (she doesn't have the keys) to relight the pilot light. It is the thick of this cold weather we're having and she now has no heater and no hot water, and is locked out of her own garage. Calls to Terminix of course go to a call center and despite multiple calls, messages and emails, no one responds. MY MOTHER WAS FREEZING IN HER HOUSE FOR FOUR NIGHTS before she ever even reached out to family for help. She's old, lives alone and has mild dementia. Both my sister and I live out of state and had to call a locksmith to break the lock and PG&E to come and relight the pilot light. We have called Terminix multiple times and have only been able to leave messages and have gotten no response. For all they know, she's died and they do not care one lick. Do not use this company at all, but especially in Salinas, CA. They're grossly negligent, unresponsive, uncaring, and just disgusting. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. They oversell and overpromise to get you interested and under-deliver. Also, they will damage your home and then ignore you. We called out several companies and all of them suggested localized treatment where they would treat the wood with a type of foam. We were talked into getting a heat treatment for our termite issue at the townhouse. We were told that we were the PERFECT candidates after he inspected our home since it was vacant and it didn't look like we had anything that would become damaged in the process. What I didn't know was that they do not do the treatment themselves, but rather, contract the job out to a third party contractor who treats your home like garbage. We just freshly painted our new home a very light blue-gray shade and the person who did the treatment, let dirty handprints ALLLLL over the freshly painted walls. They also did not do a good job cleaning up after the job was completed. In addition to that, they damaged our home. We have fairly new windows in the home and it appears they attached some industrial metal clamps that were left behind that ended up burning and warping our window frames. Due to their negligence, they have ruined 2 upstairs windows that will not open and cracked the glass. Upon contacting them to notify them of the issue, we were given the run-around that we would need to wait for the third party to contact us. I'm sorry, but we paid a big lump of money to hire Terminix, not some third party contractor. If we hired you and you decide not to do the work yourself, and hire someone else to do it, you should take responsibility for their disrespect and damage to my home. They have not contacted me back and it's been about a week now. This is entirely unacceptable. They did not hesitate to charge me for the services, but will not follow up with an upset customer. I am changing my review from 1 to 3. When I got on their Chat Line the Customer Rep contacted the local office and a competent technician came to our house and did a great job. I will request this person, Xavier, if we need termite treatment in the future. The technician was not a disappointment. Everything I said in this paragraph is true: I have been trying to get a call back for almost 6 weeks and, after 6 calls to the number I was given, I have heard from no one. I bought a plan, costing over $3,000, and that plan was supposed to cover 2 visits per year but they are not fulfilling their contract. The "Area Specialist" from Salinas gave me his card and handwrote what he said was his "personal cell phone number". It was a bogus number. This made me feel like a slow learner because the rep we used in 2019 did exactly the same thing. This must be part of their training. For my $3,000 I got 5-10 minutes of termite treatment under my house. The "Area Specialist" keeps you busy with small talk so you do not have the opportunity to see what the actual worker is doing for those 5-10 minutes. At this point I am convinced nothing was done. When they have completed this last visit I will contract with a local company which is what I should have done in the first place. Terminex is a terrible disappointment. read more

We called to schedule an appointment to check out something we found of concern. Everything was very professional. We got text update and great communication from the area specialist Jose Muradas. He came out, on time, was mindful of the red fire zone parking in our residence and checked with us about the best place to park. He came back and introduced himself, got right to the inspection (no charge), and gave his professional recommendation. We greatly appreciate the responsiveness, on time, friendly service, but most of all we appreciate and value honesty! Jose told us the issue and a resolution we could do on our own, because the home was not affected. He didn't try to sell us any services that we did not need. Terrible, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. They did awful work they admitted was faulty. We immediately stopped any future work and requested money back for that project per their 30 day satisfaction guarantee. They charged immediately without consent for other projects before doing work, and refused to refund so I had to do a chargeback on my card. After several months of them trying to bill for the work they did not do, Mauricio said they agreed that no additional money was owed after the first project and was zeroing our the balance on the account. Of course that didn't happen and they sent random dollar amounts to collections. Oswaldo the branch manager and Mauricio can't be trusted to do anything even if they promise to do it, and Jose the sales rep wasn't honest and upfront about their policies. When I called to see what was going on they said they did not have me down. My husband took the time off work for this appointment. So not only did he miss Monday but the following day as well. I was scheduled for repeat service today and yet again they did not show up even after I confirmed with them in the am. I have never been treated worse by a company. Had a rat or something under the house so we called terminix. The manager came and told us it would be 1400 to get it out and seal everything up. We agreed. They then sent out a couple of 20 year olds who glued a couple vents and put a couple caps on the roof. Took them maybe an hour, probably less. We still had the animal under the house so we called them back. They said they would send someone out, and in the meantime I found two huge holes in the roof area that they missed the first time. When I told them about the holes, they filled them, from the outside, with a black foam like substance that is ugly and is now sitting above my front door, no doubt depreciating the value of the house due to their shoddy work. The animal is still under the house, and my calls are no longer being returned, despite having paid for a service. I will be canceling the service, and all services . Complete rip off. I highly recommend you AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The manager, who seems high on heroin, will lie to your face. I have also sent letters and emails to the customer service department, only to be completely ignored. I have a lot to discuss with these people, should they ever choose to return my calls or emails. read more

First trying to talk to a human was nearly impossible. Second they messed up our scheduled meeting and caused us to miss our weekend getaway. Finally when the person arrived to confirm we had termites, he set up an appt. for the following week. My husband took time from work and low and behold no one showed or even bothered to call. We called Jose ( the man who set up the appt) and he wouldn't answer our call. He did respond to a text and said he would call us back very soon, again, no call. The local personnel seem to be very thorough, but the local agency is consistently beyond reach. Phone calls go to a central number with wait times exceeding 5 min. Even the central office cannot reach the branch manager by phone, only email. Then, they do not seem to get messages or return phone calls, I have had previous excellent service from other Terminix offices with a local number that answers. Worst experience with a company, ever! There were so many errors on their part I don't even know where to start. First the salesman (Oswaldo Lopez) who sold me a fumigation forgot to schedule it with Terminix. I contacted Terminix 7 times prior to my "scheduled" fumigation to try to get a couple of questions about preparation answered. I was told that someone would call me back within 48 on my first call. I never got a call. Finally, the day before my "scheduled" fumigation I called PG&E to arrange a time to get my gas turned back on. They are the ones who told me that they had no gas shut off scheduled, and that they needed at least 48 hours notice. whoops! By now my tenant is in a hotel, my husband is off to stay with friends, and I'm about to head down to LA. After talking to PG&E, I called Oswaldo. Oswaldo said he did everything correct, but later his boss, Eric, told me that Oswaldo had forgotten to schedule it. Oswaldo told me that if they had made an error then the fumigation would be "on them" and that Terminix would pay the extra expense I incurred in hotel costs. Of course he later denied to his boss ever having had this conversation, even though it could be construed as a verbal contract. I can understand that, lying to save ones ass can seem like your only option when your job is on the line, but I caught him lying 3 different times! The one I haven't mentioned yet to me was the worst. I asked his supervisor, Eric, why nobody had called me back even though I had called 7 times. He told me that nobody called me because Oswaldo wrote an email to everyone involved saying he had called me back and given me the information I requested. NOT! I even sent Eric my phone logs, showing my 7 calls to Terminix before I finally received a return call from Oswaldo on the day of my "scheduled" fumigation while I was down in LA. Oswaldo never admitted to his errors or to the lies he told to cover his errors. I am a firm believer in forgiveness and allowing people their humanity, but it really helps if people come clean. There were other issues as well, like Oswaldo telling me that they would clean up the termite droppings in the garage, and then when I called to request this being told by the service professional "I'm not going to bust my ass because the salesman lied to you". whoa! That's a bit unprofessional. I was super stressed about all of this for several days, and it caused so much stress to others around me as well, like my tenant and my husband. I got the call from Oswaldo 5 minutes before I arrived in LA to take care of my Mother who was recovering from a cancer operation. Instead of arriving in a peaceful state, ready to take care of her and her needs, I arrived angry and instantly went into fix it mode, making phone calls to my tenant, the hotel I'd reserved for him, my husband... The aftermath of this incident was an breakdown in my relationship with my tenant, which resulted in a legal issue that added even more stress to my life. It's been about 3 months since all of this happened, and I hadn't thought about it for a while until I saw an ad for terminix pop up. You have been warned. PS. So my wife and I tried Terminix out for the first time because of their money back guarantee policy. We use to use a local guy but he retired. So we set up our appointment and a kid showed up and sprayed the outside of the house. When he was done I asked him about the cobwebs that were still all around the house. He said he would go back around and fix the problem. I went back in the house and he finished and left. The next morning, I walked out the front door to go to work and the same cobwebs were back. I thought maybe he forgot to get the ones I saw. So when I was at work I called and they set up an appointment for the next morning. Another guy shows up ans tells me that he will clear all of the webs out and re spray. So when he was done we walked around the house and I asked him if he sprayed. He said yes but there was no indication that he did at all. When I asked him he said they only spray 12" up and it had already dried. So I went to my side yard where it's covered and there was no evidence he sprayed at all. So I asked him about the spiders on the front porch and he said they are gone and they won't be back! We shook hands and he left. The next morning I was leaving for work again and the same porch light was covered again in webs?? So I called once again and they said they would send out their best local tech to fix any issues. He showed up 2 days later and I showed him the webs. He said no worries, I will take care of it. So the same thing went down. He sprayed and removed the webs. Two days later that same web was on our porch lights, our front garage lights and our side yard. I called and they told me that that was all the y could do? So after them coming out 3 times in 5 days I cancelled and asked for our money back. It was sold to us on a "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE". They said they would only give back our monthly fee but not our deposit of $99.00. I said fine and took what they gave us and here we are. So without a doubt I wouldn't let any of my friends or family ever use this scam company at all... read more
