Javier has been one of the best bartenders and servers I've ever had. He's always gone above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. The food was always so good and the drinks are to die for. *** This review is strictly based off of Terra Nova| DoubleTree's breakfast buffet offering *** Let me start off by saying how amazingly convenient it is to have Terra Nova|DoubleTree offer a buffet breakfast!! Eat as much or as little as you'd like at one flat rate & best of all, I was able to avoid having to jump in the car with a toddler. Fan-freakin-tastic if I do say so myself... Service was attentive as soon as my family of 3 checked in. The ladies running the show were full of smiles and were very welcoming throughout the entire meal. Drink orders were taken first and then you have the green light to go ham on the breakfast goods!! Food offerings ranged from: typical store bought pastries, unheated mini croissants, cereals, but the hot foods is where it's at!! Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, parfaits, fresh fruit, and even a waffle station is ready for you to enjoy. The layout of the buffet lays in one strip so things can get a bit traffic-y with the flow of people moving about but patience goes a long way when required. 5/5 stars for the entire visit but a special shoutout goes to Eunice. Great service from Javier at the bar! Didn't have the food here, but came for the drinks.

Better experience this time. The food is still good, but this time the staff was great. This restaurant is super busy and with the amount of people that walk in and out, I realized that they just don't staff the right amount of people. But the staff are actually really nice and sincere and you just have to give them a break because they clearly are running around trying to assist everyone. This time I ate the happy hour food and the nachos were so so as well as the quesadilla. I recommend to not order anything with their chicken, it just tends to be super dry. read more

This place offers a good selection of food. I happened to get the angel hair basilica pasta with salmon. Though generous portions, the salmon was wayyyyyy overcooked. What a bummer! Like so dry. The pasta too was just okay. I know it had a lot of ingredients in it like mushrooms, basil, onions, sun dried tomatoes, olives and artichoke hearts but overall, the flavors were still just so basic and okay. I didn't find it that special. It also comes with cheesy bread. The service was great but the food fell short. The breakfast was way better! I got breakfast to go and got an omelette with different fillings. This was generous! With a side of fruit and toast. This was cooked well! I haven't had the pleasure of having Breakfast at my hotel, since the start of my training. So I decided to just give it a try on my last day here at the Double Tree Hotel. There seems to be a great selection of breakfast, but service wasn't all that great compared to service I received during dinner last night. I get that it's an all you can eat buffet and I get that you basically serve yourself...but I had to ask twice for syrup for my waffles and it never came. I had to trouble a waiter fro more orange juice because there wasn't a beverage station to fill it for my self. There were more than enough people on staff and I came to eat around 8am, and there wasn't a whole lot of people. Everyone was dispersed through out the establishment, but there were more servers to accommodate the guests than there were guests to servers. So the food selection is your basic run of the mill buffet stuff. There's a bacon and sausage links tray, scrambled eggs tray, potatoes tray (that looked like small square shaped fries), and some mystery pasta/something. There is also a fresh fruit station as well as a cereal bar and small pastry section. There was also a chef station where you can request personalized omelets, pancakes or French toast. I usually like my breakfast hot, and don't really care for food that gets cold. So as I get my food and pick out the sausage, bacon, square potatoes and scrambled eggs, I wait a good 10 minutes for someone to come to the chef station, but no one comes out. Several servers see me and I even as the pretty lady, "is this where I can make an order of French toast?" After waiting a little over 10 minutes, I decide to just skip the French toast and make my own waffles. It's kinda cool that you can make your own and the fruit selection or raspberries, strawberries and black berries were super fresh. But by the time my waffles were done, I tried to get syrup for them but the machine seemed empty. So I wait another 5 minutes to get someone form the kitchen to come out, and mind you it's not like there were orders placed for personalized omelets or pancakes or French toast! So I decide to go with out syrup and on my way back to the table, I politely ask a server for syrup because the machine seemed like it was out. She thanked me for letting her know but didn't bring me any even after I told her I wanted some for my waffles. By the time I was able to sit and enjoy my breakfast...everything was already cold. I didn't even finish my eggs or bacon because it just didn't taste good after sitting out. I didn't even go for seconds because I didn't want to go through the hassle of walking away to ask or request for something, then only wait a while and walk back to super cold food. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who judges an establishment based on the service and quality of food. I've eaten at hole in the wall restaurants while here exploring LA and I've been to some crappy looking establishments but service and food was amazing! Received a $50 gift certificate here because our heater wasn't working in the room so we decided to use it for lunch. Pops got a portobello mushroom burger with slaw, mom got the french onion soup which she said was salty. My sis got the mac and cheese which was super cheesy. I got the caesar salad with the grilled salmon. MMM. the fish was not fishy and it was lightly seasoned and flakey. Service was great... probably because we were the only table there lol read more

Always treated very friendly here. The servers and bar staff are always great. The food can be slow to come out though.

I stayed at the Doubletree in Citadel right off I-5, and this place didn't disappoint. I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and the service was simply awesome. I thought the Chilean Sea Bass was incredible and I've had my fair share in San Francisco. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying close by read more

Wife and I had diner here and I was impressed when the food was brought out. The waiter appeared new was very accommodating. But while eating the meal the fish n' chips were very disappointing. They were all batter and no fish. The cold slaw was non traditional in that it had peppers in it which I did not care for. My wife had a Brussels sprouts dish that was not cooked enough. Today was my first visit to this fine establishment. It didn't appear to be very busy but the management here was on top of taking care of us and making sure we were pleased with our meals. I had the turkey Panini, which was delicious with thick slices of turkey. The sweet potato fries I had with it were perfectly cooked and well seasoned with just enough salt. The only reason why I gave 3 stars instead of 5 was our waiter. He did not seem to have it all together today & had to come back several times for various items we had to request. We had ordered crème Brule to go. He returned to advise that it was an item that could only be eaten in the restaurant & at which time we decided to change it to the cheesecake. When we returned, he did not bring it in to go boxes, but instead had to go back and box it up for us. All during this time he did not serve us with a smile or apologize for the errors. Food could be good if it wasn't so loaded in SODIUM. Omg, the fist day after my arrival here I had breakfast and then dinner that same day. I ordered the Mediterranean salmon that has capers and olives, both of which have already salt in it. The added salt to the dish and even though it was delicious it was also extremely high in salt. Today is Sunday and I ordered a rib eye with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Still very good but you feel like you're eating a teaspoonful of Salt with this meal. My mistake, I forgot to ask them not to put any salt in my food. By the time I asked it was too late. I suffer from high blood pressure and my face starting swelling right after my first breakfast meal. Good location hotel but away from healthy choices restaurants and their hotel food could be healthy if they wouldn't put so much salt in their food. A good chef would know that salt is used to enhance favors, not to over whelmed them with so much salt!g read more

This restaurant has been steadily going downhill, and the prices go up constantly for years. This is the only restaurant in the area except fast food. I had the salmon which was overlooked, and the cous cous was oily. Everything I have had was mediocre. The hotel staff is terrific, and the breakfast is great, but lousy food at night. read more

i had been here many times before and to my surprise it was beyond what i expected.we recently came here for a family dinner. the menu has completely changed,the food is no longer the deliciousness it once was,to top it off when i authorized a certain amount on my bill to my surprise more money was pulled than what was expected. the staff gave me this crazy run arround excuse about gratuity when it was already included in the first place.i think someone was trying to get extra tip! i am sad to say i will never go here again. too bad this was my favorite place. bring the chef who used to be here about a year ago or let me know where he went so i can go there! read more
