    Chicharron with nopales and eggs

Was looking for authentic Mexican breakfast so here I came. Older style restaurant filled with charm and coziness. Reminded me of when I used to visit my mom's house. Was happily greeted. Started off with coffee and no complaints. Complimentary chips and salsa is always a bonus. Three flavors to choose from. Unfortunately all three were too cold for me and lacked flavor. One can tell the salsas have been in a fridge for a while. I prefer room temperature fresh salsa. For my main dish I opted for chicharron with nopales and eggs. Just right amount of spices and soft saturated chicharron complimented by fresh nopales. The refried beans topped with melted cheese sealed the deal. Super delicious plate. Honestly can't wait to go back.

Order Pozole Verde - this is caldo de pollo with hominy. It's taste really bad. Nothing of what it describes. Don't recommend

First and last time ordering from here. Used Uber Eats. Order Pozole Verde this is actually caldo de pollo with hominy. No flavor at all. It tastes really bad. It's has the whole chicken pieces bone in and skin Actually sell what the item is described to be. Not package something else try to pass it as the same item. HUGE MISTAKE ordering "pozole verde" from here.

Mi Tierra Restaurant is a small hole in the wall restaurant on Whittier Blvd in East L.A. serving the community for many years. My sister in law brought us to a restaurant a couple of years ago. The food was really good she knows the chef and owner of the restaurant he's really nice and excellent chef for he's cooking skills. East L.A. is the heart of Mexican cuisine from different regions of Mexico and including Cental and South America cuisine that's bring everybody together. Everything the chef made is scratch made and made to order know you getting everything fresh and also you like home cooking.

Handmade tortillas?! I'm in! My family and I decided to dine in on a Sunday night and there was plenty of seating offered and available. It's definitely a little hole in the wall on Whittier Blvd. We ordered a range of dishes; chicken fajitas, shrimp cocktail, and posole. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and service was great. We will definitely be back.

Three salsas! Green was HOT but my overall favorite. Red was traditional. Orange was sweet and spicy.

Food was so good! Friendly and prompt service. Three types of salsa and all were great! The green was spicy!! Portions were large. Good music and news/sports on the televisions. I would definitely come back if we are ever in the area again!

A part of me is reluctant to write a review because id hate to share this little hidden gem. I absolutely love this place, ive gone 3 times and each time ive gone, its only gotten better! its a total dive place; Informal, relaxed, "neighborhood" restaurant. Brings you back to your roots and makes you feel right at home. They have kareoke, its mostly Spanish with a few english songs. its an older crowd who comes out to sing. Picture your abuelas and tias hanging out and then step up to the mic. Not all singers are amazing but the audience is forgiving and fun - they sing anything from spanish love ballads to banda and cumbias. Best of all, when a good song comes on, this crowd is not shy and will step out to the dance floor. Lets not forget to give mention to my favorite sever, Tere! She is always the first to welcome us with a warm and friendly smile. The service overall is prompt and efficient and you can count on Tere to make sure your that all your needs are met. We just love her Now lets get to the food, ive ordered the caldo de camaron, caldo de res, albondigas, mojarra frita, mojarra al mojo de ajo, and a shrimp tostada and have not been disappointed. Definitely recommend- when im in this place, time stands still, i just have the best time and feel so welcomed.

Very very BIG plates! Had a good experience with the service and the food was very good. The sauces are home made, make sure to try them.

The…read moreatmosphere was probably my favorite part--dim lighting, beautiful decor, and it definitely has that trendy vibe that's perfect for celebrating or catching up with friends. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was presented really well. The enchiladas were flavorful, the grilled fish was cooked perfectly, and the tortillas with the short rib were a table favorite. Portions were great for sharing, and the sauces really tied everything together. Service was friendly and our server checked in on us throughout the night without making us feel rushed. It did get a little busy, so there were a few waits between courses, but nothing that took away from the experience. Overall Great atmosphere, solid food, and a fun place for birthdays or date nights. I'd definitely come back!!

When we…read morearrived, we were told the Dine LA menu was already sold out--which was confusing since they open at 6 PM. Our waiter then told us we needed a specific Dine LA reservation, something that was never mentioned when I called or when I made the reservation. I've been to plenty of Dine LA restaurants and have never experienced this. The service wasn't necessarily bad, but it was very dismissive. No apology, no real explanation--they basically just brushed it off. Thankfully, the food saved the night! The Michelada oysters were TO DIE FOR--seriously one of the best oyster flavors I've ever had. We also had the short rib plate, which was delicious. The outdoor atmosphere and decor are really cute too. I would come back, but ONLY for those oysters--definitely not for the service.

What a surprise! My friend and I visited for restaurant week…read moreand I'd give it a 9/10! The drive there was a bit iffy due to location but surprisingly the street that the restaurant is on was clean and felt pretty safe! I chose to park on the street but I'd advise to valet ($15) for safety purposes. We walked into a concrete built up newish area that had a brewery and another Michelin rated restaurant across the courtyard. The entire area was inviting! The restaurant felt like we took a dinner vacation to Cabo which was recipe for a relaxing evening! We ordered from the restaurant week menu which for us consisted of Ceviche, Guac w/delicious fresh tortilla fresh chips, whipped beans, snapper, bbq chicken, empanadas and basque cheesecake. All were great!.. we just wanted a larger portion of everything! I'd recommend and will definitely go again! I love restaurant week!

Yes, you get all three so no hard choices have to be made. My first impression of the beans was that they were no biggie but last night they were fire! I almost ordered a plate to take home. You have been warned the ceviche tostada has a kick but squirt some lime on it if you need to and you will survive. As for the guacamole, it's guacamole - need I say more? For my entree I went with the snapper, which came with escabeche, lime, pineapple, cilantro, green onion, and chili rub. In the past, I've strictly stuck to their small plates and I feel that's still the way to go. Nothing wrong with my snapper, I just love all the other little plates more. I went with one other person and only one piece of cheesecake came out. Supposedly it was a bigger slice but looked like an average size to me. This cheesecake is made with manchego cheese so don't expect an overly sweet treat. I did enjoy it. But, I also ordered their flan that is only available in August and I found that to be better than the cheesecake. Get both as one is limited edition. We also got the fried chicken tacos. We were told they were pretty spicy but I felt the ceviche was spicier. They were tasty but did not live up to their oxtail tacos they used to have. Also, squirt some lime on these tacos - you're welcome. This is one of my fave places to dine during peak weather season. Go check them out. Tip: street parking is available if you get there at 5 otherwise valet is $15. Trust, you do not want to park your car anywhere other than that one block where the restaurant is located.

There were many families eating dinner and many larger parties that looked like they were celebrating something special. We were all famished after fighting through LA traffic on a weeknight. I'm pretty sure we ordered at least half the items on the menu. Every dish ordered was fine, edible, not burnt but just ok. While I am by no means a connoisseur of Oaxacan food, I am perplexed at the number of reviews raving about this restaurant. It's fine, there nothing wrong with the food, but I, personally, don't think it's rave worthy. I've been here 2x now. I'll come back to a place especially when it's on a "best of" list and I wasn't impressed. I always think it may have just been a bad day or perhaps I didn't order well. Next time I see this spot on a "best of" list I'm going to find out WHAT dishes I should've ordered.
