My wife and I arrived for a late lunch at 2 PM during the week. While food was good, service by our waiter was terrible. I had to search him out whenever I needed him and in the end, I asked busboy to get me bill for payment. Waiter essentially ignored us after we arrived. As we were leaving, we could see him sitting with other staff in a big round table on the other side of the restaurant laughing it up ignoring his customer (s). I have a severe shrimp allergy, one of their seafood specials online doesn't have shrimp. I mentioned when I ordered that I had a shrimp allergy as well, just in case. I was lucky I caught the shrimp before I took my first bite. I kindly call them about the mistake and asked if they could remake the dish. When we arrived to switch the dish. The manager starts yelling and screaming at us, told us we are no longer allowed at the restaurant. I simply told him, you would have been way worst if I had taken a bite and had to go to the hospital. The place is mediocre at best, but it's nice to order out and support the locals. But they obviously do not care about allergies, I would be wary about going here if you have any allergies. read more

We stopped in to pick up a gift certificate for a friend who loves coming here and we figured why not sot down and eat. Now we knownwhy they love it here. Great service, great food, great wine, great atmosphere I loved my corned beef Ruben sandwich. Very very flavorful. The bread was nicely toasted, the corned beef was cooked very well and the Swiss cheese was a great compliment to the entire sandwich. The sweet peppers in the salad tasted very fresh and delicious. The pinot nior was very good as well (to my liking at least ). I will definitely be back to try some more dishes on the menu! read more

While I was really pleased with the food, the service left much to be desired. The dishes were delicious, fresh, and well-prepared, which is why I'm giving three stars. Unfortunately, the waitstaff seemed quite unhappy. which dampened the overall experience. It would have been a five-star visit if the service matched the quality of the food. Amazing food and service. They have a pretty large menu too with plenty of options to offer. The restaurant itself is always clean and nicely decorated. They also have separate areas (outdoor patio, indoor sunroom, partitioned dining areas, bar) that allow for seating for all party sizes. Would highly recommend! read more

2 stars might be a generous rating for this place. It was probably the least authentic Italian meal I've had in a long time. The pasta with clams was just watery, kind of tasteless, and a weak portion size. The "pizza" was also really lousy. Its pies were basically cheap ingredients thrown on top of a flatbread type "dough" that had the consistency of a Ritz cracker. Low quality food for a premium price, will not return. read more

Well I came back for brunch at 11 am and the service from the waiter was rude, rushed, and very very unfriendly from the minute he came to the table. The host and coffee server were lovely. No-one filled water glasses without specific request. Presentation of food leaves much to be desired- that said the individual frittata was excellent and fresh and hot yet served with lukewarm roasted potatoes that tasted and looked like leftovers from last night's dinner service and were plopped on top of the frittata as an afterthought. Two companions enjoyed their waffle and benedict dishes but were also nonplussed by the unfriendly waiter. It is a very spacious and clean space with good parking and clearly popular. I had another wonderful lunch at Terra rustica. All waiters were masked and wore gloves. It was very Covid safe. I started the meal with a bloody Mary. It was nicely spiced, limed and just perfect. For an app, we ended up ordering the mussels marinara. They were tender and juicy in a perfect sauce that was addictive! As an entrée, I ordered the chicken Villa Roma, and my friend got the chicken Sorrentino. Both chicken dishes were excellent. The chicken Villa Roma had asparagus, red peppers and a wonderful cognac sauce with a nice blanket of mozzarella on top. It was outstanding! The chicken Sorrentino had a nice layer of prosciutto and eggplant covered by another blanket of cheese. Extremely tasty and delicious. For dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée. It was silky with a nice toasted sugar crackle on top. It had lots of vanilla bean specs within it, and was a taste sensation. Our waiter was excellent, very fast and accommodating, and very nice. At the end of the meal, he brought us over a large pump container of alcohol gel. It was a wonderful lunch, and I can't wait to return to do brunch next time. read more

What a way to start the new year. We arrived early to avoid the rush and the service staff still made us sit at least 20 min before we ordered. They literally stood there and stared into space rather than come take our order. We both ordered essentially the same thing. I got the challah French toast deluxe which came w 2 eggs and 4 pieces of bacon. My mom got the same without the eggs but ordered it as challah French toast with a side of bacon. When the meal came the French toast was soggy. We didn't complain. When the bill came I read it just because I was curious how they would bill for the order that came w/o the eggs. They charged $4 extra for the one WITHOUT the eggs! But that's not where the nonsense stops. They charged $20.98 for the deluxe which is listed for $16.99 on the menu! What a SCAM. I wonder if they assume people won't read the bill and just give their card - something I'm VERY guilty of. I'm so glad I read the receipt this time. I bet this is more the norm than an exception at Terra Rustica so read your bill!! What a joke. When I told the waiter, the bill was corrected by deducting the $4 charged wrongly for the deluxe meal. When I asked the owner why we paid $4 extra for the meal WITHOUT the eggs ($13.99 for the French toast plus $6.99 for the bacon - the deluxe per the menu was $16.99 and included the same amount of bacon) he said full of snark "I can't help how you ordered it." HOW RUDE! I wasn't rude. I asked why they would do that. I think he was angry I caught their scam. A normal restaurant would apologize at the very least and explain that that's how their system works or adjust the bill as that really would be the right thing to do. Not be rude straight away. I will never come back to this restaurant. I wouldn't have even posted a review until the man was nasty to me on my way out. But now I think it's important everyone know the scam they are running and PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOUR BILL!! Lastly, the last time my parents ate here my mom lost her keys. She called and asked if they would go out and check and see if they dropped out by the handicap spot right in front of their restaurant door and they refused. She had to drive back and search for herself. She is old and handicap, very kind of them don't you think!? Why we went back, I don't know and strongly regret it. Don't go. What a disaster. Just feeI I have to vent -- And this was the 2nd time we went with a group -- if you look back at your reviews - we didn't have a good experience last year and we gave you a 2nd try --- not again after this. And I wrote this to you via email after our dinner on 4/27 - and no one bothered to even answer my email.... hence posting on yelp since I could not post a 2nd time on your website. I originally made a reservation for 6 people over a week before the 27th (and requested a round table - which I was told wouldn't be guaranteed) and then on the 27th another couple decided to join us and I called to change the reservation to 8 people (and was told that they didn't have my original reservation but could accommodate but no round table - which was ok). We were seated on time. I will start to say that no one in our group gave the waiter a hard time -- meaning no additions/changes or questions to their order aside from the 1 man who asked for no ice in his seltzer. We were seated at 6:30 --- ordered drinks and then dinner but didn't want appetizers -- we didn't get our dinners until almost 8:00 -- needless to say we were hungry. And aside as asking the waiter and any one else who walked several times by where I our dinners were - this is what occurred: Seltzer came with lots of ice (and eventually someone brought a 2nd one with no ice) Bread was put on the table along with a little plate of bruschetta --- we were 8 people and there were 4 tiny pieces ???? My husband asked for butter - from 3 different people until it finally arrived. When the dinners finally arrived - Someone started placing the meals in front of us but the person sitting on the right side of the table got the meal intended for the person on the left side of the table --which we realized immediately and then asked the waiter to move -- after that the waiters just asked who got what! 3 people ordered Veal Martini - but the waiter brought out 1 Veal Martini and 1 Veal Marsala --- short one meal altogether. The waiter took back the wrong dinner and said he would bring the right dinner - and a 2nd one - Which definitely took awhile (I was almost done with my meal by the time my husbands veal came). The person with the original veal marsala said his veal was delicious and soft -- the 2 people who got their dinners late said the veal was tough and hard to cut -- both only ate 1/2 their meals -- and did not want to take home. These dinners were probably cooked on high heat or microwave to get done quickly. The dessert orders were then taken -- and 3 people asked for a cannoli (not realizing that your menu had 2 types of cannoli on it - something I checked on your website this morning - and the waiter didn't asked which one was preferred). They all got the cannoli truffle (which was not what a usual cannoli looks like and $1 more than the "stuffed cannoli" that was also on the menu - which I assume was a normal cannoli in a shell). Because it was so late the 3 ate what was brought. My husband asked for a diet soda when the rest of us got our cappuccinos - they did bring it to him - the straw that was in the glass had the paper wrapping still on it -- (usually the bottom half of the straw has no wrapping with the top only covered) No paper was on the entire straw - and it wasn't easy to get the paper off the wet straw!!!! Finally our dinner was finished and we left -- after almost 3 hours. While it was good that we were not rushed -- it was a very long dinner. And fortunately our cars were not towed because we had to park across the street because your back and front parking lots were full. read more

This was our fourth time here, and the service has been getting worse and worse. Appetizers were served without plates. Our drink orders took forever. One of the people in our party had ordered a frozen margarita (which was listed on the menu) but was told by the server "the bartender is too busy to make that." It took forever for our server to take our entree orders. I'm aware that Covid has affected the dining experience, but not once did anyone come by to check on us, apologize, or reassure us that everything would be served soon. There seems to be a level of apathy in the air with the servers and bus staff, but the fault definitely lies with the manager. She did not seem to care about how things were running. She could be doing a much better job. The saving grace is the food: It's always expertly prepared. Hats off to the kitchen staff but two thumbs down to management. read more

This restaurant is a nice family spot. They have a large old school Italian- American menu that includes something for everyone. I usually come here for Sunday brunch and enjoy a mimosa with my meal. But I've order breakfast from here as well on a weekday. I don't think they deliver, so you'll have to drive and pick up your food. My daughters favorite thing to order from here are the chocolate crepes or the medallion pancakes. Besides the food, I love this restaurants customer service. They are very attentive to their patrons whether you're dining in or picking up. I often see people from the neighborhood dining here at all hours of the day. Check them out ! read more

We were told that this was a great restaurant. However when we went we were greeted by the manager Jose. He was so rude and unfriendly! So we were seated and kind of feeling like we didn't want to eat. We waited a long time finally our waiter came - his name is Fernando. Fernando took our drink order, but it took 20 minutes for the drinks to come. He was the worst waiter we ever had!! We were with guests- it was so embarrassing because we picked this restaurant. it was appalling that our waiter didn't seem to speak or understand English at all. He didn't understand what we were saying about the food. it was so frustrating! It took an hour for the food to come. Thankfully we were enjoying our company. The food came - it was ok! Atmosphere was pleasant. That is after we moved from one table to another. The first table was so so loud. We moved and then the service was terrible. They kind of forgot we were there. The food was almost passable. I really don't have anything positive to say about the place. Met an friend for dinner on a Thursday night. At first there were just a couple of tables occupied but by the time we left there were quite a number of tables occupied. Liked that they brought a basket of bread and bread sticks, a small bowl of olives and a (small) dish of olives within a few minutes of sitting down. We each enjoyed a glass of wine. I ordered the Cestino di Parmigiano cob Fusilli (Fusilli with sun dried tomato broccoli rabe and grilled chicken in a cheese basket. It was excellent! My friend had the Cavatelli con Cozze e Fagioli ( cavatelli pasta with cannelloni beans and mussels) she loved her meal. We each finished with a cup of cappuccino. My family and I stopped here for breakfast after exploring the Pleasantville Farmer's Market. While some people in my party had been here before, this was my first time. So, I found it a little odd that Terra Rustica serves breakfast every day (mind you for a weekend morning the place was empty); most Italian restaurants don't - or if they do, it's in the form of brunch on the weekends. But I digress - the restaurant sits close to the road but high up on a sort of hill. There's parking in the front and the back, and the exterior contains patio space for outdoor dining. Inside, the decor is filled with earth tones like greens, reds, and dark woods. There was nothing too special about the decor, it was well maintained but seemed a little dated/average. The breakfast menu had typical items - egg dishes, bagels, toast, pancakes, etc. I decided to go with the spinach frittata which was filled with tomato, feta, onion, and (wait for it) spinach. The fritatta was fine - it was good but nothing outstanding. It came with a few wedges of potato and toast on the side. Service was good, they were constantly making sure we had everything and refreshing our coffee mugs. Overall - meh, maybe a solid local spot for lunch or dinner, but their breakfast isn't outstanding. I would come back though to give their dinner a try. read more

Aug 2021, came here with friends and sat outside which had plenty of seating. The only issue we noticed was the parking, the lot was full, so we ended up parking across the street. We thought the service was quick and our waiter was very accommodating to our needs. My friends ordered the Insalata Tricolor with Shrimp and I ordered the Penne Alla Sedona, both dishes were good. However, the Italian bread that they brought over to our table was stale. Normally I would have sent the bread back, but we were with friends and I did not want to make a big deal in front of them. But to me the Italian Bread makes the meal, and being served stale bread was a disappointment. read more

I love this place but with conditions. So it's a conditional love. I love the service and attention they give their customers. They make you feel special even when they are super busy. I like (but not love) the food, it's basic and fresh, but will not blow your mind. I like the wine list, it's good and affordable. I kinda like the ambiance but it's dated and a bit shabby. I came with my parents for dinner for Mother's Day. The food as always is absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. Every single time we come here, it's always BAD service and that's just putting it lightly. We waited for our food for like an hour or two. We were there for three HOURS!! My father was getting impatient about not getting his food at a reasonable time. The management and waiter didn't care when we kept asking them when we should be expecting our food and didn't apologize. Appetizers and drinks were quickly delivered. Dinner and dessert took forever. They didn't even offer us a free dessert or a discount on top of all the long waiting because the "kitchen was backed up". The manager and or staff didn't even come to tell us personally that the kitchen was backed up we had to literally ask for them to tell us. If it's so backed up, just hire more chefs!! Poor management! Ordered a panini sandwich with chicken cheese tomato and pesto Sandwich came out soggy. Bottom bread soaked in oil. Asked for an extra napkin to absorb the oil. Wait start apologetic took the sandwich away offered any alternative. Two minutes later manager comes over with an attitude and told me it wasn't oil and that nothing would be done. Puts sandwich down in front of me and walks away. Our waiter was embarrassed and took it off the bill. Been here before. Never again. No such thing as the customer is always right. I'll start with the positive...when the food finally got to the able, it was good. I will also say that the waiter did warn us how long the food was taking due to the party(s) they had. Another positive is that the place looks nice. It's a nice touch with the long candle stick at the tables. Now for my warning. If there is a party there, don't go. It will take 3 hours to get your meal. If the kitchen wasn't so backed up... I would give it 4 1/2 stars. BTW the mango cocktail was delicious. read more

Came here on Mother's Day and placed an order for pickup. We waited 1.5 hours for the food to be ready, just for the owner, Jose, to tell us that they won't be making our order. Every time I come here, Jose has a terrible attitude and treats the customers like garbage. The employees here are completely unprofessional and scummy. we went to Terra Rustica to celebrate my friend's birthday. the food was very good however the service was terrible. we waited over an hour for our entrees. when I approached the manager he apologized and offered to comp our drinks. I told him he could remove the 3 sodas and one alcoholic drink from the check. when the bill arrived the drinks were still present. when I approached the manager he said that he didn't charge the cake cutting fee of $2 per person. that would be $10 for our party of 5. I told the manager he should have removed the beverages as he said he would. I told him the food was wonderful but that the service was terrible.
