I have been here twice now - both times in the pouring rain - for a fast business lunch and in both cases, had a pasta dish that was quite good. My stays were short, and only had a soda, so I cannot go into detail as much as I would like. The interior décor and ambience are tastefully relaxing and cozy, and the exterior photo I provided does not do the restaurant justice. There is seating outside around the back for better weather. Fresh baked bread was on the table with some flavored oil for dipping. I was greeted warmly and service was prompt and efficient. It seems like a great meeting/gathering spot spot for friends. HORRIBLE! RUDE! NASTY! I called and placed an order for takeout. I used the online menu to make my selections. They have two different seafood pasta dishes listed on the menu. One seafood pasta dish has mussels and shrimp and the other does not. We have a shrimp allergy. I ordered the seafood pasta dish that doesn't contain shrimp. When I got home I saw shrimp in the dish . I called the restaurant to tell them a mistake had been made. The person I spoke with immediately became defensive and told me I ordered the wrong dish. I insisted I ordered the correct dish but didn't get what I ordered. I said I would bring the dish back and I wanted the correct one. When I returned to the restaurant I asked to speak with the manager. The manager became completely belligerent. He picked up a menu and held to my face and started yelling at me and telling me to read it. I tried to tell him what the menu on their website said and he told me it was a mistake and that if something says seafood pasta that means it has shrimp in it. I told him I wasn't responsible for the accuracy of their website. Needless to say I didn't get a pasta dish without shrimp in it and on top of that I was informed that I am permanently banned from the restaurant. A great place in Westchester for family style Italian food. Always generous portions as well as a delicious meal. There is always an amazing bread basket to welcome you filled with focaccia, bread sticks and Italian bread. You are also given complimentary bruschetta, olives and olive oil with crostini to start which is one of my favorite parts. For appetizers the mussels and calamari are a must! (However please know ahead of time that calamari only comes with rings) but still delicious and very fresh. One of my favorite meals to get for an entree is the steak and lobster. However if the lobster ravioli served in w pink sauce is available on their special menu I highly recommend ordering it, as it is amazing. Drinks are always good and overall a great atmosphere. Staff is always so friendly and they have been their for years! A real family restaurant feel that makes you feel at home again. When I was there during covid, they rented a huge tent and placed it in the parking lot so we are able to dine rain or shine. They also have hand sanitizer on every table as well as Parmesan served in separate little plastic cups. Do yourself a favor and try this place out! read more

Relaxing and clean atmosphere. I stopped by here on whim and wasn't disappointed. The service is by far the best I've had since being in NY. The waiters were very attentive. You get a basket of bread and a soup or salad before your meal. I was full by the time my food came. My seafood pasta was a bit overcooked but that wouldn't stop me from going back. Ordered online through a Yelp suggested food delivery service, selected the "Pappardelle Con Ragu D'agnello" and about 10 minutes after it was confirmed by the restaurant I was notified my order at Terra Rustica was cancelled as requested..but I didn't request it to be cancelled. It turns out the owner did, and I had to find this out when I called the restaurant and the staff handed the phone to the owner who proceed to whine and yell about how food delivery services rob him and it's not worth it and this particular dish includes a side salad and that was an additional expense he had to consider..major eye-roll Anyway after he was done telling me all his problems, he told me to call this particular food delivery service and take it up with them, and tell them to change his prices (like I'm some errand boy?) he appears inept and unable to articulate simple business conversations with peripheral vendors let alone deal with customers. My wife cooks better food, and doesn't give me problems like this management did. The staff was rude and got nasty with me for asking questions about the status of my food. My husband and I had never been to Terra Rustica before. It took covid-19 to cause me to do a search for places with pleasant outdoor seating. This was our first outing to any restaurant since this all began. We figured breakfast, which I had no idea they served, was a quieter time to go. The set up outside was obviously created for the current situation and it looked quite inviting. We were seated by a masked and gloved server. They said we could sit anywhere we wanted. They brought over paper menus and specials. They also took them back, i would prefer they threw them away after each use. They also didnt tell us there was a virtual menu option. Some tables had that info at their table, not ours. I ordered their Greek omelette and my husband ordered two eggs scrambled with ham. Both come with potatoes and toast. I switched mine to lettuce and tomatoes, just .85 more. Everything was delicious and I observed the cleaning process after other patrons departed. Cleaning salt and pepper shakers, ketchup bottles, sugar container along with table, chairs etc, very impressed. We will be back! Nice to be out again. read more

Been here many times over several years. Service has always been top-notch, and the food, excellent. Went today, Mother's Day, with reservations made several days ago. Entryway was jammed with people. Waited by the desk to state our name and that we had reservations, and was gruffly told to wait against the wall. Seated about 5 minutes later, cocktail order taken and delivered, and food order was then taken. An hour-and-half later, and not only had our waiter not come back to the table in that time, but our meals had yet to be served. We finally got our waiter's attention, and were told yes, it's very busy. Meanwhile, another table seated at about the same time (with more people) had been served, eaten, and left. We began to suspect that our waiter had never turned our order in. My mother-in-law, who has hosted many large family events there over the years, asked to speak to the maitre'd, who she knows by name. When he briefly came to the table, she told him it had now been almost two hours since we'd ordered. He pretty rudely told this valued (you'd think) customer that he'd check on it, but then proceeded to bring menus to several tables. We finally got our food an hour and 45 min after ordering, no apologies offered, some of our orders were barely warm, and our waiter never returned to inquire if anyone wanted dessert or coffee. We had to get up and go to the register to request our check, and when it was brought to the table, no courtesy had been extended (such as having comped the cocktails). Not a happy Mother's Day celebration at what had been a favorite spot for such things. After having been loyal customers for decades, not sure we will ever go back. Most disturbing was the dismissive behavior toward my mother-in-law, who has spent a small fortune there over the years, and who is a lovely and non-demanding person. read more

When we inquired about what could be taking so long, a "manager" said she would check on it, then never came back. After 1 hour and 20 minutes of no food or service, my party and I asked for the check and to leave. The real manager then came out, to which the manager and "manager" yelled at me, a customer, and said I "had no manners." It was something out of a TV show honestly. I'm updating my review. We went for our anniversary a few days ago and first, I had dirty silverware which okay, I guess that can happen anywhere. Not a big deal. But then I get my salad and there was literally fuzzy mold all over it! I was so disgusted. I took my family of 4 adults with 2 toddlers for brunch Sunday. The Maitre'd Was absolutely rude. He escorted us to a table for 5 which did not easily accommodate a high chair. My daughter asked about the other room to which he replied ; "closed; this is all I've got". The service and food was mediocre. I ordered a $15. Deluxe dish which included Bacon or Sausage. I asked them if they would sub corned beef hash. They told me it would be an up charge. Turned out they charged me for a full side order and gave me no other meats. The food is good, not great, and a bit overpriced for what you get. We dined outside and the service was very good. Attentive, everyone was masked, we saw them cleaning well when tables cleared. The orecchiette dish was nice and light, with some broth, broccoli and sausage and a good amount of garlic. The penne vodka was heavy, but the linguini and clams were done very well. Breadsticks in the bread basket were excellent. They have a lunch menu on the website but they told us that they didn't have a lunch menu (unless they aren't using it for outdoor dining, but that wasn't explained). Will NEVER patronize this restaurant again. I have been eating here for 20+ years and at least once per week, get food delivered. I called today and the owner answers. After ordering deliveries to my town (about 3.5 miles away) for years he suddenly says that i live too far for delivery but he'll do it this one time as a "favor". When i give him my order he becomes indignant because it was too small ($35- $42 with tip). When I tell him I've been a loyal customer he becomes rude telling me I'm wrong and literally not letting me speak. He then hangs up. I don't care what his food is like--i will never go back there. We were excited to find a place that had osso bucco. We placed an order online. Then we get a very rude call saying they were canceling our order because meat is very expensive now amd he won't honor his own menu prices. We asked about a refund amd he said basically we were on our own amd hing up on me. We would have been fine paying the $46 per plate he wanted to charge (initially $27) had he not been so rude. Had a mini reunion with childhood girlfriends. Was presented with a large and varied menu. Something for every palette. The meals were plentiful and delicious . Oscar, our waiter, was pleasant and very attentive. Desserts were delicious and again plentiful. One of the best aspects of our mini reunion luncheon was they allowed us to stay and enjoy it as long as we wanted . What fun we had reminiscing about the "good old days". When we were leaving the manager even offered to become our photographer and took our pictures on seven different cell phones. It was a really wonderful occasion made all the more wonderful by great food and great service ! We all said we are coming back with friends and our families and definitely next year to celebrate our longevity and friendship. read more

What happened to this place? We always had great meals in the past. Last night we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation at an awkward table for 5, um, we were a party of six. At first they had tried to seat us outside saying it was our fault that we didn't specify inside in our reservation. They didn't ask when the reservation was made. And, by the way, it was 60 degrees out. It feels like they're trying to use every table, inside and out, with a small kitchen staff. Our waiter told us the kitchen would be slow. Well, let me tell you he was not lying. We arrived at 6:30 and weren't served dinner until almost 9:00. Other tables were complaining, we complained. Two employees identified themselves as the manager, both were more or less indifferent. My husband & I do not live locally, but make it a point to stop at this restaurant when passing through Briarcliff Manor on our way to & from NYC. Terra Rustica has become one of our favorite restaurants. The service, food, atmosphere are all top notch. The menu is extensive so there is always something new to try. My go-to for great food any time of the day. Their breakfast is amazing. For dinner my go-to is caesar salad and the lasagna (5-star good!). Also common go-to's are eggplant rollatini, chicken piccata, and chicken parmesan are fantastic. Have had many other dishes and they are always delicious. Disgusting attitude from the manager! I would give zero stars if I could. I had an issue with the $3.99 charge for a side of pesto sauce (about 2 tablespoons). The manager's response was I should have asked what the price was and refused to waive the fee. We went back and forth a few times with me just repeating that I'm not paying $4 for the small amount of pesto. We have been repeat customers and now will never be returning. When I said he would lose me as a customer he said that's alright it's fine. He then continued to raise his voice and tell me there was something wrong with me. We made a reservation bc allegedly this place is busy on the weekends but on this particular day there were a number of table vacancies. We elected to sit on the porch. This is when a few particular (HAHAHAH I literally just realized after re-reading this that I wrote "particular" instead of "peculiar"..how fucking retarded am I?) events took place. Particular event #1: waiter inquired about whether or not two of my brunch compatriots were 21 after they ordered mimosas. I know, bc if they weren't, they would definitely admit it at this point. Waiter also didn't ask me...fml. Later that same day the gas delivery man at wawa in jersey called me "ma'am", do I look old enough to be a "ma'am"??!? Particular event #2: I just realized that I'm rambling so I'm not going to continue with particular event number two but you're curious now, aren't you? I ordered a marg and an omelette bc that's always my brunch go to. I wish I could tell you what everyone else got but I can't remember for the life of me. I specified, as always, NO ONIONS and omelette ALMOST ON FIRE. I had to get the "turkey and spinach and egg or whatever" omelette without the turkey and I got laughed at. Whatever, VeGeTaRiAn LyFe. Apparently the long thin bread stick shit was good. I believe I tried it but that was when the marg was starting to kick in. They have a nice variety of pre-food bread offerings. After a pretty substantial amountof time, the food arrived. We hastily asked for hot sauce, and it was much to my dread TABASCO. Fml again. I doused my very well done to my liking omelette with that and some salt/pepper and came in hot. The omelette was good. Egg-part thickness was acceptable, tomatoes were in cubes (to my liking) and the cheese was gooey. Whenever I say "oozey" it just makes me think of draining abscesses. Anyways my qualm is with the fucking potatoes because THEY AHD FUCKING ONIONS IN THEM. Why do I bother tiring my vocal cords and saying "no onions"??? This is why three stars. Ain't NOBODY got time for that shit. Despite having to wade through the onion land mines, the potatoes were actually pretty good. Have been many times and food was good etc. HOWEVER was there Saturday evening with a group of 10. Place was super busy but we didn't mind. Waiter was jocular and accommodating. Drinks were good. Food order taken. THEN ONE HOUR WAIT FOR FOOD. No explanation and no extra bread etc. Food comes. We ate. It was fine/good. THEN the WAITER TELLS US HE'S JUST BEEN FIRED and doesn't know if he'll be able to finish serving us. It all goes even more downhill from there-incorrect desserts etc. The manager got snippy when asked questions. We never saw a reason for the situation and nothing said to us about it. Mo apologies. Food was good however the menu is not an easy one. Then posted in small print it reads something like we can make anything you want...I had the chicken cutlet with arugula salad. I definitely recommend it. Calamari was tender and crispy, the pizza and crab cake was just ok. We didn't have dessert but what we saw coming out looked good. I have very mixed feelings about this restaurant because the location is great for us, and the food/wait staff is usually excellent. I guess my biggest gripe with the place is the management. Every time we visit this place (which I'm assuming we will not be coming back...) there are constant surcharges on our bill. We've been there for dinner and breakfast, and the prices on the menu are meaningless. For example, today, my wife and I ordered a build your own omelet. We both added a vegetable ($.75 on the menu) and a cheese/meat ($1 on the menu) and a side of gluten free toast. Menu price said $7 for the basic omelet plus the add ons. When we got our bill, it was $12.99 for each of our omelets. When I asked the waiter, he said he's sorry, but the management has decided to make the computer system very difficult to use, and so he had to "make up" a price that he felt reasonable. He explained that the management felt that spinach was "not a vegetable" so it had a different price than onions. My wife and I were amazed/confused with the explanation, and explained we would leave a review. This isn't the first time this has happened, and whenever I speak to the morning manager, he is unbelievably rude about it. In fact, the last time I brought it up to him, he said he would take a few dollars out of the pocket of the waiter if I felt like I needed to take money off the bill. Unbelievable customer service right? I'm guessing most of the positive reviews are for the food (which is very good) but I would make sure to check your bills at the end of the meal because they are extremely sneaky about adding small surcharges each time. read more

Not sure why some people find this food good, it's awful. This is definitely not real Italian food, not one Italian found anywhere on staff and has more of a Spanish flare, not very good at that. I had a chicken dish on their specials and it was swimming in a not very good sauce in a bowl. My wife ordered a special as well, smoked duck. The duck wasn't edible and we asked for an exchange of a mediocre eggplant rollatini. They charged us full price for the duck. I've never experienced anything like this before.
