Traveler Beware! This place is Honestly a Dump... this is not the first time i have stayed here…read moreover the years, however it is certainly the Last. Over the past four years The Guest House has went from possibly a two star to a NEGITIVE 5 Star, pleas see pictures attached. I recently checked in for a room as I was traveling from Central Oregon to Eugene Oregon to visit my mother. I had made my reservations on priceline.com and it cost me 73.00 plus tax. I arrived early and checked in, didn't go up to the room because i was on a mission to help my mother out at her home in the Danabo area. I returned back to the hotel around 7:30 PM.. the First thing in noticed was all of the crack addicts and pot heads, yes smoking weed by the entrance door.. It may be legal, but I don't want to breath it.. When I opened the door I noticed was how filthy the carpeting was.. ok, I will just keep my shoes on right? then I went to turn on the TV. No batteries in the remote. so I walked over to the office, no one in site. After waiting 15 minutes and yes i checked the time when I walked in and the time he, the night guy came into the office. Explained to him the TV remote has no batteries... Was told he didn't have the correct batteries to help me out... No TV Tonight I guess. Returning back to the room I then took a look at the bed, mold in the fibers of the bead spread not on just one, but both of the beds... then the chairs filthy, I don't even want to venture what the stains are from. then looking up, mold in the corner of the room ceiling. the night guy auditor did not seem to care, refused to give me a refund so i could go elsewhere when I asked for one. stated to cancel room I needed to do so within 24 before checking in. told him condition of room, he stated he will inform the manger. stated no rooms available to "Up grade" as if that would help.. So I slept in street clothes, laid towels on the bed first. Did not sit in the chairs and had issues with my asthma all night long. I will end this review here and yet there is so much more to share with all of you. I had yet to touch of the crack heads that apparently live at this establishment. the Pot smokers getting high by the entrance door to the rooms, or the piles of Dog Shit all over the parking lot. To the Owners of The Guest House Eugene, Springfield OR. if you even read this review, I would still like a refund See Pics. and I have more pictures if anyone is interested.

I told them my friends were leaving on Sunday and I was going to stay an extra night on Sunday night and wanted to reserve Sunday night when I called them...I asked if they wanted my payment info and the woman said no and that I could pay when I got there. the lady ended up charging my friend instead! when we asked for a refund for Sunday night, we were refused because we missed cancellation period. When we got there the first night, we parked in a parking lot and had to walk to our camp site...hauling everything was a hassle. there were 3 tent sites and all sites had to share 1 porta potty. the reason I am giving this site 1 star is because they are wayyyyy overpriced, considering you have to park and walk to site, share a porta potty, and get spied on and penny pinched for every fee possible. they ended up charging us $60/night ...original price was $37/night but they charged us extra for 2 extra adults and 1 extra car. total rip-off considering there are nearby campgrounds that have bigger sites, better bathrooms, can drive onto site for $10/night and you wouldn't have someone spying on you while you camp. skip this KOA, go for other campgrounds that won't rip you off.

Perfect location, as the Sea Star is in close proximity to everything downtown; the room was quiet, intimate, very clean, with a romantic beachy ambiance (seemed recently remodeled). The bed was extremely comfortable and free Wi-Fi was a bonus. There is a small, beautifully designed courtyard and beyond it is the back entrance to an amazing wine bar / restaurant (Alloro's). The owners (Bill and Pat) were extremely friendly and helpful. We look forward to visiting again!

HOSTEL - Sea Star - U (unaffiliated) (not part of Hostelling Intl.)…read more I'm a frequent hosteler, and The Sea Star Hostel was one of my Oregon coastal favorites. My favorite room had a loft spot to sleep, and was private with a great view of the harbor. Kitchen and lounge areas were clean and I met some nice hostelers too. If you enjoy hosteling, this is a good one to visit. They also rent full guesthouse rooms, separately, with views, but I have only stayed at the hostel. Hosteling is very different from hotelling, and it is NOT for everyone, so I would rate this 3 or 4 stars for a hostel, but if you compare it to a regular hotel, i have no idea. Hostels are not camping, not bed and breakfasts, but nor are they hotels or motels, so I have no idea really how to rate them, except hostel to hostel. Hosteling is affordable, social and educational. Someday I'd love to own a hostel.

I called in around 9am to make a reservation and Wendi (the Owner) gladly took us same day for a 12:30pm slot. I told her my boyfriend has some food restrictions like he doesn't like mayo so she was able to make some sandwiches without it. She asked if we want the Princess tea ($35 per head) or the Queen tea ($40 per head) so we chose the Princess set. An hour later we arrived to the The Painted Lady Tea house! Mostly street parking but it's not busy so it was easy to park in front the house. The house entrance had two doors but for some reason the first door you see is locked so you enter the right door side as their entrance. The ambiance of the place was super pretty like each section of the house had different themes. Wendi greeted us and said we can sit anywhere in the house. There was two other groups that was dining and noticed they were wearing cool hats so my boyfriend chose to wear a Jester hat and I chose to wear a frilly flower hat. I saw one group eating the Queen tea set so I asked Wendi if we can change our meal plan to that instead and she was able to make the last minute change. We chose to sit in the green room because it was very earthy, decorated with plants, and had small water fountains. Here is what's inside the modified Queen tea set meal: Appetizer -2x Ginger scone -2x Lemon scone -English Tea -Side of sugar cubes -Side of creamer Entree -Croissant sandwich (Ham, cheese, tomato, leafy greens, mustard, mayo) -Egg sandwich -Curry chicken salad sandwich -6x cucumber cream cheese sandwiches *no mayo* -2x crusted egg quiche -Green grapes -Chocolate dipped tangerines -2x Chocolate crunchy dipped strawberries -2x Chocolate drizzled strawberries Dessert -2x Strawberry ice cream cake -2x Oreo cheesecake My boyfriend got a whole Croissant sandwich since the other sandwiches contained mayo. He ended up not liking it because he didn't know there was mustard in it so he just wiped it off and didn't want to ask for a new one. Most tea places I've been don't usually add mustard into their sandwiches so maybe next time I should've said no sauces or all sauces on the side. Their website menu didn't have any details of the sandwiches, it was very vague. I'm kind of sad he wasn't able to enjoy the other sandwiches with me so I wish there was more no sauce sandwich options or self serve sauces in the future but that's what I get for dating a picky boyfriend lol. I really enjoyed everything and loved the decor of the house! But I felt like the menu had too many sweets. I would be fine with just the scones, dipped strawberries, grapes, and oreo cheesecake but the extra dipped tangerine and strawberry ice cream cake were too much. Maybe I suggest make the strawberry ice cream cake and oreo cheesecake to be bite sized. It would be nice if there was a good ratio of savory like maybe add chips, soup, cheese cubes, or other charcuterie board savory snacks. I still recommend this place! Great place to bring your family and friends to enjoy for a fancy stop over from a long days road trip :)

I loved the Itty Bitty Inn so much!!!…read more This is easily the best motel that I have ever stayed at - or even heard of, for that matter. It is, in fact, so much better than the second-best motel that I don't even know what the second-best motel I've been to is! Not only is the Itty Bitty Inn now a must-stay for me on my next trip up the Oregon Coast, but it is so great that it has dramatically increased the likelihood that I will be driving back up the Coast soon. I'm still shocked that the Lonely Planet guide didn't mention it. Rick (the owner) is the coolest. The first thing that he did was give my friend and I a rundown of Coos Bay hotspots. Then he showed us to our beautifully decorated and upholstered rooms - we had the two Tiki-themed rooms, each of which had too much detail to even be done justice by a picture. He proceeded to then pour us complementary beers and directed us to the outdoor patio for lounging and decompression after our trip. I felt like the King of France! I now absolutely need to stay in every one of the rooms for at least a night (there are 5 total, each with a different theme). This is no trivial feat, as apparently new complete redesigns are always in the planning stages. I can't wait to see the place next time I'm in town!!!

Upon arrival we were welcomed with vibrant exterior colors and beautifully detailed murals, bright flowers, clean grounds, a buzzing neon inn sign and the most friendly hosts we could've asked for. The sign in process was personable, friendly, and easy going. The "lobby" offers gifts, drinks, local nik naks and much more! Rik the owner initially showed us our room which was the terrapin station "Grateful Dead" room. He was kind enough to explain the inns and outs of certain things throughout the room such as the record player and taking off our shoes to maintain the wellness of the space. Once we were settled in he offered us a complimentary locally sourced beverage of our choice. During our stay we genuinely enjoyed every second of it. The bed was cozy, records were turning, and relaxation was at a max! Can't express enough how grateful we are to have stumbled upon this lovely establishment. Peace and love brotha!
