I've lived a 5-minute drive away for over 10 years and can't believe I've never heard of this place. Terry's serves up some really delicious comfort dishes from curry over rice (or mashed potatoes!!) to a yummy loco moco! Their portion sizes are GENEROUS as well. I got a loco moco - love how they give you an option to get brown or white rice. For some dishes, you can also sub mashed potatoes for brown rice! There is something on the menu for everybody and they have a different special on every day of the week. They also have a GIANT back room with pool tables that can be reserved for parties. Definitely keeping this place in mind the next time I'm looking to host something for a large group! read more

Ono Brah! This place is hidden in the Newport Hills. I came by here with a few friends on a Sunday night, and we sat immediately. Since they've only been open for 2 weeks they only have a limited menu, but this menu is packed with options, so you'll find something to your liking. We ordered the Garlic Wings, Imperial Fried Rice, and the Chicken Curry. I'll say that the Garlic Wings were the best of the night. Packed with flavor, super juicy, and good sized. The Chicken Curry was pretty good, and big enough to feed at least 2 people. The Fried rice was alright the ground beef in it was pretty bland, I just figured the beef may have missed the salt shaker. Overall we all enjoyed this place, and are curious to see what the full menu has in store for us. The next time I'm in town I'm sure we'll be stopping by again. Check this place out! read more

This place is bringing back history and great food! They have the original recipes from South China restaurant (their famous garlic chicken wings and chow mein) and it's the real deal! We got the chicken wings, both chow meins, loco moco, tonkatsu, and the imperial fried rice. Everything was delicious but the tonkatsu and chicken wings were my favorites. This was our first visit and won't be the last! If you are Keto, Paleo, vegan, or just eat whatever is in front of you this is a great place to eat. I had the garlic shrimp special and lost some of my shrimp To my boyfriends Caesar salad. My mom had the special too, but instead of brown rice went out on a limb and had the most amazing garlic mashed potatoes. And then there were the tater tots! Memories like the corners of my mind... I am deeply craving their chicken wings right now as I write this review. Terry's hits the grand slam when it come to comfort food. It's a daunting task to decide on just one item here. My recommendation is to come with a group and try as many things as possible because they're all yummy and you owe it to yourself to eat everything and anything on the menu. I got the loco moco, I wish I got it with spam, won't make that mistake next time, but the gravy was soooo good. The tangy pickled ginger was a nice twist of flavor among the smooth gravy. This dish is beyond filling. I only ate about half and felt like I ate more than I should have. My sister shared her chicken wings with me, which were DELISH. I love the way it was fried. Perfectly crispy on the outside and still retained a lot of flavor without having to be smothered in a messy sauce. Although I do want to try to sweet & spicy version next time. I think we had the garlic ones. You get a lot of wings, so she actually made this an entree and was still so kind to share. My other sister got fish and chips, subbed chips for tots. I didn't try the fish, it looked perfectly fried, all intact, not falling apart or soggy. My sister finished it all so it's safe to say it was good! The tots were delicious, perfectly crispy without being dry. You can also order tots with a variety of toppings/flavors. I will have to try a that next time because who can get enough of tots?! My mom went the healthy route (kudos to her) and got salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies. I didn't try this either, but she finished most of it and my sisters tried it and said it was good, so I would 4/4 everything was delicious and well made. We all left happy and full!! The restaurant itself is bigger than first meets the eye. There is a back room with pool tables and extra seating. Many of the people here are regulars, so I think that speaks for itself what a great place Terry's is. The owner came by to say hello to us and ask us how our meal was. I thought that was very nice and thoughtful. Definitely makes you feel cared for. This is a no frills place, but the food is delicious, the people are kind, and the service is attentive. Glad I found this little gem near where we live. The dishes are so unique!! First time dining there I couldn't figure out what the cuisine was. Perhaps North American fare with an Asian touch? I tried the loco moco and WOW. What made the dish really good was the charcoaled beef patty; that just elevated the whole experience. I later found out the premise is "Comfort Food we grew up with in Seattle". Well I didn't grow up in Pacific Northwest so I guess I'll have to try every dish on the menu. read more

When we arrived we understood why. It is located next to a supermarket in somewhat of a strip mall. Looks are absolutely deceiving in this case. This isn't strip mall fare at all. I ordered the pork katsu curry with fried rice and it was delicious! Three stars because the service was not too great. Our waitress wouldn't answer any of our questions regarding the menu because she simply, never tried it. I was there with five of my friends (we all ordered different things), and her answer was the same for each of us. I get it. You shouldn't be expected to eat the food just because you work there, but maybe be knowledgeable about the food you're serving or at least say nice things, be enthusiastic when you do? Mary and I celebrated my birthday last night at Terry's with 30 friends and family. I'll admit to being a little nervous. It was the first time the two families met in a group setting. The cozy casual atmosphere quickly allayed my fears. The appetizers, especially the garlic chicken wings were tasty and people were in a good mood. When the main course of rib steaks, pork chops and salmon arrived everyone was relaxed and ready to enjoy a nice meal. No one was disappointed. My rib steak was tasty and prepared perfectly. I heard the same sentiments from our guests regarding the chops and salmon. What really added to the wonderful evening was Terry and staff. They were gracious, warm and accommodating. It is easy to find once you locate the small mall area and you will not be disappointed with the food choices ! My favorite is the locomoco and the chowmein both fantastic. On multiple occasions I've gone in and my order has been incorrect, they would fix it, but with the same dish and no apologies. The pork chop is hands DOWN the best. Good food, poor service. Our waitress brought our drinks and then disappeared. We watched her check in with the other tables in our section but never came back to our table to take our dinner order. After 10 minutes of waiting for her to come back for our food order (our drinks were finished at this point) we finally had to ask her to take our order (as she was bussing a table in someone else's section) - her response "I totally thought I took your order... yeah". We ordered and continued to wait. For the next 20 minutes we watched as several tables in other sections were seated, had their orders taken, and received their food. Eventually I had to get up to had to ask another waitress from another section to refill my soda and where our food was, because our waitress had not come back to our table. Not to refill our drinks, not to see how we were doing - she helped the other tables in our section, bussed some tables, chatted with some servers near the bar. I'm pretty sure that she forgot to put in our order - since she had forgotten to take it in the first place. After asking the server from another section, half of our food came out, but it took 10 minutes and another request to ANY server (because our waitress had pretty much ghosted us at this point) before our waitress FINALLY brought the last thing out. What really left a bad taste in our mouth was that our server blamed the kitchen for the slow service, rather than just owning up to forgetting about our table. The thing is, when you don't check in with your customers or take their food order or even refill their sodas, it doesn't matter how fast the kitchen is running. And it's crappy to blame the kitchen staff for your screw-up. So yeah good food, but not a great experience. read more
