We were there for a live show. The first issues began before we arrived at the restaurant as there ticketing system printed a different date than the actual show. The day off the show checked the website to find out any last minute details and then had to call the restaurant because the website made it sound like there would be no food service during the show, which was not the case, they would be serving from a limited menu. Arriving at the restaurant we found it to be disorganized getting in. We were told to wait until the doors opened at 8pm, but everyone was just walking in.... No wait staff, must order food and drinks at the bar which was okish. Food came out quickly, after a miscommunication with the bartender which left us with drinks that were not exactly what we were looking for. The food. The cheesey tater tots tasted like nothing, and the cheese just didn't taste like cheese. The garlic wings - We couldn't taste the garlic and they were a little on the dry side. We enjoyed the egg rolls and thought those were good. The eggs rolls came is sweet & sour sauce, but no other sauces were offered and the person that brought the food out jetted without asking if we needed anything else and to quickly for me to say anything. The restrooms were clean, which is more than I can say about a lot of places that host concerts. Water was available as self-service. Would we return for dinner service or because we enjoyed the food. Absolutely not. If I was rating this place for the food / service and organization it would be a one or possibly two star review. Would we return to see another live performance, that would be a yes. If I had one word to describe our experience, it would be mediocre. I came here a second time before making my final decision on this review. My girlfriend and I decided to try this place out on a Sunday night. We got seated fairly quickly, and the service was pretty good. Our expectations weren't very high coming in since it's an Asian fusion restaurant in an undeveloped suburban area, but the food just doesn't meet any bar for how much it costs. We started with a small spinach salad with a cup of chili. The salad was pretty plain and had no feta cheese as seen in its description. They gave us the dressing on the side, which I don't like because the dressing doesn't get evenly distributed. It felt like eating a prepackaged salad you'd buy fat an airport. The chili was hearty but a bit on the salty side. I had a hard time eating the burger; it came looking like it was ready to topple over and it wouldn't stay together when I was eating it. The patty was also overcooked and rubbery. My girlfriend's katsu curry was okay. The katsu was decent in quality but the curry was bland. Great comfort food! Portions are generous, and prices are reasonable considering how much food you're getting. My favorites are the prime rib special and spare ribs. The prime rib is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and so are the ribs. Fortunately the ribs are on their regular menu, so you can always get these! Service is friendly, and the business is family-run. My friend and I bother ordered T's Combo Plate, which includes the chicken chow mein, wings and the imperial classic mix-up and were generally pleased with how similarly the dishes tasted to what we remembered of South China recipes. We did feel, however, that the seasoning was really inconsistent. Some items on her plate seemed bland but were better seasoned on mine, and vice versa. I've been here a few times before and noticed that the chow mein especially has inconsistent seasoning. We were going to Resonate Brewery across the street and my cousins recommended that we try Terry's since it's nearby. It took awhile to find it since it is so tucked away that it's easy to completely miss it. It's located to the right of the S-Mart. The prices were on the more pricey side but the food was good. We got the mac n cheese and the T's comfort gravy bowl. With the gravy bowl, you get to create your own combo of meat and gravy over rice. The food was super hot but the flavors were there. Upon arrival, my entire plate of food was COLD. It seemed like everything had been warmed up in the microwave for 10 seconds before leaving the kitchen. And when the menu says "fried potatoes," I expect crispy and crunchy potatoes... but I literally got a scoop of soggy, tasteless boiled potatoes. My mom ordered the BLT, which again, was mediocre at best. We are not picky when it comes to bacon (lol), but this particular bacon had sooooo much fat on it that it was almost inedible. Our first time here was the first night they reopened with outdoor dining. We appreciated their covered seating area strung with cafe lights, although we (and some other diners) could've used heat lamps! The service was fantastic; friendly hosts and an engaging server who amused my kids by doing jumping jacks with them. My loco moco was perfect: great flavor and proportions of gravy and food, and a substantial meat patty to go with the egg and rice. My husband got the spare ribs, which had a slightly crisp exterior and tender flavorful interior. Delicious! One of the best Loco Moco's that I have had outside of Hawaii! Make sure you get it with the Spam too. The star of the show are the chicken wings. Get them spicy or as Terry's calls it "Sassy." The classic version is great too and reminds me of the old recipe that was served at South China restaurant. There is plenty of parking and the servers are very friendly. It feels like a family home when you walk in. They also have a ton of space in the back/side area for parties. My cousin had his college graduation party here and there were over 50 of us. It takes me back to our old time favorites like Chicken Chow Mein and the Garlic Chicken Wings from my childhood memories. I'm so happy to see this place pivot so quickly to do take out and partner up with some struggling restaurants like Seattle's Jade Garden for dim sum and the Seattle Fish Guys for poke bowls. Guys, the wings here are perfectly fried! Not too greasy but fried enough to where there's a crunch with each bite of juicy meat. Squeeze the lemon on top and it brings the taste levels up x1000! I've been looking for something different outside of my typical Bellevue/Redmond spots, and this spot came up when I searched a little further south. I decided to get takeout from here on a Sunday night during the COVID pandemic. I called about 15 minutes ahead and ordered T's Combo Plate and the Garlic Tater Tots. When you arrive, someone comes out to the front of the store and brings you your order - you can pay when you pick up or via phone when you order. I recommend paying via phone just to make the pick up a bit easier. First thing is first, they give a TON of food. My order cost a little over $20, and it could easily feed 3 people. In terms of value, this place delivers extremely well. I have a lot of leftovers that will probably last me 2 more meals. I'll start with T's Combo Plate. It comes with chicken chow mein, fried rice, and 3 fried chicken wings. The chow mein was pretty good, there wasn't an abundance of saltiness like a lo mein has, yet it still had some flavor to it that allowed it to stand on its own. However, there was not a lot of chicken provided, so calling it a chicken chow mein may be misleading. The fried rice wasn't like a typical Chinese fried rice either - it honestly was a little bland, and the rice grains weren't as fluffy as I'd like them to be. The chicken wings were my favorite part of the entree, they didn't have a batter on them, so the skin itself was only slightly crispy. The chicken wasn't overcooked at all, and the chicken flavor really comes through. I will say though, that the 3 components of the entree creates for a very heavy, fatty meal. I'd like if there was some acidity or freshness to help balance out everything. The garlic tater tots were so satisfying. They do not skimp on the garlic - you can see the garlic mixed in with the tots. And even though they sat in the to-go box for a while before I got to them, they still were slightly crispy. They did add to the heaviness of my meal though, so I imagine eating these with some ketchup would be a lot more enjoyable. This place is a hidden gem located in a small shopping center in Newcastle. With that being said, there's tons of parking. It's not far off the Coal Creek Parkway 405 exit, so it's not difficult to get to by any means. The selling point here really has to be the value - I haven't found anywhere that gives you so much food for your dollar. And the food is pretty good, not the best, but pretty good. Again, I'd prefer if there were some things to counter all the heavy, fatty elements of the entree I got. A true hidden gem, I'll be back to explore their menu after I finish my leftovers. read more

This place was very unassuming as it's tucked in a corner by a grocery store. I was surprised to find that it was moderately busy and even has space set aside for private parties. At 10-11ish at night, most people were there for the drinks/bar, but we were there for the food. Here's what we got: - SC Garlic Chicken Wings: YASSSS. So good, would definitely get this again for sure! Flavor was on point, wings were very juicy and perfectly crispy despite our 15ish minute drive home and not greasy at all. Didn't realize how much the lemon brings out the flavor until the very end when I was on my last piece, so make sure you drizzle the lemon on your wings beforehand! -T's Kitchen Sink Mix Up: I thought fried rice was just fried rice, until I got this and realized I was wrong. This concoction works... it's unique, it's got a flavor of its own, and it's so GOOD. I could keep eating it and eating it... comfort food at it's finest! -Katsu Curry: The Katsu pork was very crispy and yummy and I liked the flavor of the Japanese curry. It came with a side of blackish sauce that I didn't enjoy so much, but for the most part this was a solid dish. -New England Style Clam Chowder: I'd probably skip this next time. Their recipe is thinner than I'd prefer, since I like a really creamy clam chowder. -Lime Freeze: This was good and tastes exactly how I imagined, I want to try the pineapple flavor next time! Service was also excellent. The hostess/waiter/cashier up front was super helpful in explaining everything and providing us with solid recommendations. DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH Having heard many good things about Terry's from friends I talked my wife out of sushi and we went to see what the fuss was all about. Located in Newport Hills Terry combined the former Sahara Pizza space with a chunk of the old Stod's baseball (now Star Market). They are open daily from 11am -11pm serving lunch from 11am- 4pm and then dinner. They also offer a brunch menu on Sat and Sun 9am-2pm. There's plenty of free parking for all. We were greeted by Tina the hostess and picked a comfortable table with a banquet seat for my wife. Turned out Tina would also be our server. Bonus she was charming. Offering a full bar as well my wife ordered their lychee (lie chee or lee chee) martini with the nut instead of olives. Terry's offers a very good menu featuring appetizers beer wine and drink specials sandwiches burgers diverse entrees like Loco Moco (Hawaiian) salads and desserts. The prices are reasonable which helps. We opted for their Caesar salad with chicken (or salmon) and chow mein with chicken (or beef or crimini mushrooms). Our choices arrived quickly and were good portion sizes. Their Caesar salad was one of the best ever rivaled only by Edith's hand tossed table side in Cabo. The lettuce was fresh and crisp with a perfect tasty dressing that was not overpowering or bland and topped with a generous portion of just cooked served warm tasty chicken...5 stars! We both also enjoyed their delicious chow mein served hot with a nice combination of noodles veggies and plenty of chicken. When Tina mentioned their dessert menu and my wife's eyes lit up. Now came a delicious warm soft apple cake topped with vanilla ice cream (plenty for two). We loved our lunch date and can't wait to return. Tasty food and wonderful Tina was a perfect combo. WOW! Off to the side is a large banquet room and Top of the Hill billiards (old Stods). I've dined in once and done take out twice. This place is next to S mart Asian market. The first time I dined in, i was pleased by the Hawaiian fare. I was born in Guam so anything that reminds me of home gives me a fluffy place in my heart. Months later we got takeout. I got the loco moco again and my friend got the tonkatsu (breaded chicken cutlet) curry. We also got clam chowder and lumpia. To be honest, I was a little annoyed that they took the time to separate his curry gravy from his rice, but not from mine. By the time we brought it home (we only live 8 minutes away), my loco moco gravy had soaked into the rice and my egg was way overdone and the to go container (cardboard boxes like you see in the deli) was completely smashed in and opened because the sauce made the box soggy. I tried to enjoy my loco moco... but I really couldn't. It was so dry and there was barely enough gravy for the patty. I ended up stealing some curry from my friends plate but it wasn't the same. The curry sauce was quite salty but I ate it anyway. The lumpia the first time was epic. There was so much meat and it was bursting with flavor and super juicy yet crispy outside. I didn't even use the sauce that came with it. The second time we got takeout from there because we were in a pinch for dinner. we ordered a large order of lumpia but it was definitely not the same in flavor. I also barely saw any meat in there. That third time, I definitely used the sauce. The interior of the restaurant is super clean and there's a section for billiards. Seems like a cool place to hang out. But honestly, the prices are pretty medium to steep here and after experiencing poor take out packaging, I'm a little discouraged from coming back a fourth time. read more
