Cute little cafe in downtown Chula Vista. This place is located on historic 3rd avenue amongst several little shops and restaurants. It's tiny but has a lot of charm...we usually grab the corner window seat to enjoy our desserts and drinks. My favorites: Strawberry Matcha, White Mocha, Coconut Cake, Fruit Tarts, Chocolate Mousse, Muffins and so much more. We usually come here to satisfy our sweet tooth after visiting La Bella Pizza Garden, which is a few doors down. Parking can get a bit tricky: they offer metered street parking as well as their own lot which you also have to pay for...with Sunday being the exception I believe. Service is fast and friendly. I see this bakery all the time but never took the time to check it out until recently. The bakery was fairly busy because of an event going on off third ave and so there was a line going outside the door. I picked out several pastries to try like the ham and cheese, guava pastry, almond croissant and the egg and chorizo croissant to go. I was able to get all the pastries right away except the egg and chorizo croissant which was made to order. I probably waited 20 mins. The almond and guava pastry tasted good. But I thought the ham and cheese was a little too crunchy and hard to eat. The egg and chorizo croissant seemed to have a minimal amount of chorizo. I heard they bake their on coffee cakes at this bakery, so I stopped in to try them. My first impression was that they were of very good size and looked good, but more like muffin than a slice of coffee cake. The coffee cake did not have that traditional brown sugar crumb on top which I missed. The cake was soft and moist and had a good cinnamon strip inside the coffee cake. It was nice to eat, but in the end, I missed the texture from the crumb on top and it needed more cinnamon flavor. They would go from good to great if they had that crumb on top. They offer a lot of pastries and baked goods at this baker, not to mention cakes and coffee products as well. The service was friendly enough. There's inside and outside seating. read more

I was helped by young girl really nice She went in the back to ask if I could have the cake by Saturday morning A lady came and said sure what time 8:30am Yes. This bakery had a great selection of pastries and cakes! I asked the barista if she had recommendations, and she was very helpful. She suggested anything with vanilla pastry cream, so I tried the cream horn. The puff pastry was crisp, and the filling was smooth and delicious! Had a nice contrast with one end dipped in chocolate. I ordered the white mocha latte (iced) with the avocado toast and chorizo croissant. The food was amazing and fulfilling and the coffee was delicious. The service was great. The lady at the service counter was attentive and kind. She was accompanied by another lady who kept busy behind the counter and other customers waiting for their order. The location of the area is just right. It's across the street from a park to walk off calories afterwards or after some exercise a convenient stop for a bite and/or coffee. There is more than enough seating in the bakery and outside. Inside is very warm and welcoming with a display counter of their baked goods. First of all, though I rate 3 stars it's more like 3.5 but some of my fav restaurants only get 4 so I can't really give this a 4. I have passed/drove by this bakery so many times and it was like 3-4 years ago I already said I wanted to check them out but never did until today. First impression, it's a small cafe, clean, ambiance is fine. Can definitely see myself enjoying something there. No outdoor seating (not that I saw) but there's a park crossed the street if really want to enjoy outdoor. The selection was really impressive! While we didn't get many items (cinnamon twist and the coffee cake) to go, they are better than I expected. I am not sure if cinnamon twist should be enjoyed re-heated. It's a bit hard on the dough and it looked like it's a croissant based dough. I didn't bother heating it up so that's probably on my part. Taste is good. Coffee cake is better than the cinnamon twist to my taste. I like the crumble and overall taste. Nothing like phenomenal but I definitely will go back. I wonder if they sell cake by slice as some of them look great and wanted to get a slice but we didn't ask this time. Nothing wrong with services but also definitely not the warm welcoming one where they try to help you out with questions. I could be giving it a 4 star if it was not for an additional service fee included for paying with card. I don't carry cash around. Spoiled Tres Leches Cake ! First and last time coming to this establishment. I purchased a matcha latte along with 3 different pastries. I recently got braces for I was craving tres leches cake. I purchased two different flavored tres leches ( Pina colada and mocha). There was only 2 mocha left and trays full of pina colada. I tasted the pina colada slice first and immediately tasted a rotten milk hint. Upon, inspecting the cake .. I noticed there was no condensed milk at the base. Tres leches cake should be wet and moist but, this tres leches cake was completely dry since, it was old and the milk had been soaked up and reeked of rotten milk already. I couldn't believe a bakery would sell something old instead of discarding it. I went ahead and checked the second flavored tres lake cake (mocha) and it confirmed my nightmare ! I did taste spoiled cake!! This second slice was fresh and moist /wet and completely different from the pina colada slice. At this point, I was sick to my stomach from knowing the first slice was in fact, rotten. I ended up throwing it all away since, I was in such disgust knowing an establishment can sell spoiled goods to consumers.. will be reporting to health officials. read more

I had to amend my previous review. I was told the cake would be 30 minutes late because supposedly there were issues with the oven. What upset me most was the business didn't offer me a pastry or breakfast item or a little bit of money back for my troubles as this put me in a little bind. I was in need of a custom birthday cake for my daughters 25th birthday party which was SpongeBob themed lol I had a photo of a cake and went into the bakery on a Thursday and asked if they could make the cake and have it ready on Sunday and they said no problem...they knocked it out of the park!! They did such a great job and the flavor of the cake was so yummy! I got a round strawberry shortcake cake that ended up feeding 15 people! The cake was super moist, loved the fact that the strawberries were still slightly frozen when we had the cake and the whipped cream icing was so light and fluffy it was SO GOOD! The bakery is located on Third Avenue in Downtown Chula Vista, I happened to pick the cake up during their Lemon Festival and even though it was super busy for the festival I was still able to find street parking really quickly. The bakery is small, clean, staff were super nice. They have lots of French baked goods (the croissants are HUGE) and of course cakes!! I want to start off by saying Terzo offers great bakery and pastry options, they are delish! A few days ago, I went in to get a scone and decided to go with other choices, both delicious as always. However, I was really disappointed with how dirty the pastry refrigerator was, and the pile of dirty dishes to the side table of the cashier just wasn't acceptable. The place had 3 people in their sitting area inside. That day, there was one person attending to a line of 7 people! Some would order and then she would turn around to make the coffees of their choice. By the time I reached the cashier, another lady came up to assist, and unfortunately for their business, several people behind me had left. I hope this is read by the owner who needs to step up on their cleanliness and address the customer service with the shop front employees. read more

What a nice quaint little cafe! The staff are always friendly and courteous! They have lots of pastries, cakes and other desserts! We found this cafe a couple months ago and have been coming every week. We love their beef turnovers, jalapeño turnovers, ham & cheese croissants. Today, I saw them come out with some fresh out of the oven blueberry scones so I had to try them. It was so delicious. What I love is that it's not overly sweet like most scones. It's just the right amount of sweetness. I was too excited and forgot to take a picture of the blueberry scones. Lol I have also tried their mexican wedding cookies and they were delicious!! Once again, not overly sweet. The sweetness basically comes from the powdered sugar on them and just a little from the cookie itself. This place has been my favorite. But last couple times I've been, the owner, I think ,the only older woman there has been a witch. I give 5 stars for the younger girls that work there. They try to get or make what customer wants. Why is it so hard to make a Vietnamese coffee with cold foam? The girls have made it for me before and charges like 70-80 cents to add. I can even understand $1. But the lady just cuz i was maybe putting her out says to me it will be a charge of $1.50 extra for cold foam. Wow. Think she jus pulled that out of her hat cuz i was pissing her off. That's not how you treat your customers if u want them to come back. There are plenty of other coffee places around. They do have a yummy banana pudding matcha but you can literally get that anywhere these days. So terzo but your owner just lost a regular customer. And a very faithful customer. Was buying banana matcha literally everyday there for a while. I tried to give another chance but last time was the straw that broke the camel's back. Finally made my way back in but instead of ordering matcha I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk & asked if I could get it with coquito cream. 10/10. I stopped by to kill time on a Saturday morning. To my surprise this little store has a ton of options available from hot/cold drinks to cookies to croissants. I opted for the Oreo cake and Aztec mocha. The cake doesn't have an Oreo filling or taste, sadly. The Aztec mocha (cold) was light and delightful. The service was quick and efficient - can't complain. You can enjoy your desserts inside as there are tables and chairs available. I'll have to return to indulge in the tres leches cake. If you are planning on ordering a cake from this location DON"T!!!!. Let me tell you about my experience I ordered a custom dark green 2 tier cake from this location. I even provided a sample picture for example for the details of how i would like the cake to be. 15 minutes prior to picking the cake up (at their specified time) i get a call from them saying they need more time as they are busy making other pastries and my order isn't ready. They set a new time for the pickup and when we arrived they still weren't ready with my product. Had to wait another hour. NEXT ... they gave me a blue cake. Mind you i paid for a dark green 2 tier cake. My receipt that we have a copy of even specified a DARK GREEN CAKE. They proceeded to tell me that the cake they made was green. Then they tried to say well we said it wouldn't be the exact color as the sample picture i provided (mind you the sample picture i provided was to give an example of what i wanted the cake to look like. ) which is why the baker wrote dark green on my receipt. Along with them still trying to convince me that the cake they were trying to give me was green. Clearly the pictures you can see this is a blue cake.. I was advised the owner would reach out. They haven't. When i contacted them today i was told most likely the owner wouldn't be reaching out. I definitely do not recommend this location especially if you are planning any special occasions this is not a professional establishment.!! read more
