As a result, we ended up tipping on top of the 20% charge without realizing it. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told this was their normal policy. I've been to many bars and restaurants, including late-night establishments, and whenever an automatic gratuity is added, it's typically disclosed to customers beforehand. Just a heads-up for future customers: carefully review your bill before adding an additional tip, as gratuity may already be included. Transparency about extra charges would have made for a much better experience.

This caused a bit of a hiccup in wait time, and our manager and server were very upset that they could have impacted our experience and gave us our entire brunch for free, including the French toast and gave us some free appetizers. I was very shocked because we did not complain or mention the wait or anything, we just assumed they were busy. Overall, the manager and the staff were very impressive to me in their passion for customer service, and also the food was very good. I got the tamale and egg, and I recommend adding avocado.
