I don't like to give low ratings but the system here for ordering should be addressed for a better experience for the customer. When you walk up there are two lines outside. One is for walk in and the other is for people who have already ordered. The security guard tells you when it's your time to go inside to stand in another line to order or pick up. Mind you the lines inside are semi crossed and confusing, so if the guard does not walk you in and point you to the correct spot you might be in the wrong line or unknowingly cut someone. There's a large menu board but it does not have the full menu stating the cost for additional sides, drinks or combos. And if they run out of items you don't know until you're at the window. When you get to the window they have a paper menu, I'm not sure why it is not available before reaching the window which would be convenient and save time. After I stood in line I ordered and received my number. They do not call names or numbers, I was told to get in the other line after 30 minutes, bruh! The food is good but dang near lost my appetite after so much confusion and lack of organization. They accept Zelle and Apple Cash.

Itis!! Food coma!! This will be your result after eating from Tev's Kitchen. You're looking at Oxtail, Rice, Mac 'n cheese and Cabbage. I also purchased Wings, something I don't normally order. I saw the glistening sauce on a wing someone was eating, and I was curious. Don't skip on the cabbage. It's so tasty and perfecrly spicy which made it hard to stop eating. I purchased this order to go, arriving home over an hour later. I did not warm the food, and dove into the oxtail. They were small but plentiful, perfectly seasoned and the meat fell off the bone becoming addicting. I ate a couple of the tender wings and used the sauce as lipstick. Finger licking good. You'll love the wings . The Mac 'n Cheese will be your demise. It was tepid by the time I got home, but with every bite it was richer and more indulgent. Each bite was gooey, creamy and felt like a warm hug. I can only imagine how rich it would taste hot. I also loved the diversity of people in the restaurant. So many different cultures coming to share a meal. Good food brings people together. Parking is difficult but you'll find it. If you're lucky, you'll see the house with the cats and chickens.

Nice covered patio area outside to eat and a few booths inside. Security guard is on site. Second visit and Tev's does not disappoint. Service was straight to the point. Enjoyed steak, mac n cheese and broccoli. A complementary cup of Koolaid was a nice treat.

Tevs kitchen is a must have when in la and looking to just hang out! food is heavy so that's why i say on a chill day lol but nonetheless very good, exceptionally good at that everything was amazing from the jerk chicken to the short ribs! The sides now they're on a level all alone just delicious!! service was great, super friendly and inviting they do triple check when using a credit card for online orders so please make sure to have the card handy and ID they do not mess around !

Caribbean soul food restaurant with delicious food and generous portions. Service was friendly The menu is small so it was easy to choose what we wanted to try. We had four platters and it was so much food-oxtail, goat curry, jerk chicken and fried (boneless) chicken. Love the bold flavors of the food here. Every platter was served with mac & cheese, rice and peas, cabbage and fried plantains plus sweet iced kool aid. The oxtail was AMAZING and the jerk chicken was some of the best I've tried. The oxtail was very tender in a savory sauce that went really well over the rice and beans. The jerk chicken was well seasoned with a great smoky flavor. The goat curry was meaty and flavorful. The fried boneless chicken was good but I loved everything rise even more. The mac and cheese is so good too and I wish my stomach had more room. Definitely recommend Tex's kitchen!

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while but was a little hesitant about spending $42 on an oxtail plate. I'm all for supporting Black-owned businesses, but the price gave me pause. I ordered online early and was number seven, so I didn't have to wait outside, which was definitely a plus. When I arrived, it took a few minutes to be acknowledged, and I was redirected a couple of times without clear communication. I expected an ID check, but the process felt excessive: having to show my email, ID, credit card, and then Apple Pay. I wouldn't have even been able to place the order or show up without matching info, so it felt a bit unnecessary. That said, I'm aware they do give a generous portion, and the food was good. However, I've had comparable oxtail plates in LA for less, so while I'm glad I finally got to try it, I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for it again.

Got this Cajun steak pasta from Tev's Kitchen and it was absolutely amazing. I believe it's a jerk pasta although I am not a fan of jerk I don't feel like it gave jerk flavor. I feel like it's just a very well seasoned Cajun kind of pasta. The steak was good, it wasn't chewy. It wasn't hard. The salmon was good. The salmon was really good. The sauce was good wasn't too creamy really flavorful big portion ate some for lunch dinner and then lunch the next day very pricey, it was $40. Would I have it again absofreakinlutely.

Tev's Kitchen This food is so good, it honestly reminds me of my childhood. I grew up eating Belizean food and occasionally jerk chicken, so this was everything for me. The flavors are incredible, rich, bold, and so comforting. Easily 100/10 The plates are always packed to the rim, like they do not hold back The price ranges from about $30-$45, but it's absolutely worth it. One plate can literally last you three days, which makes it such a good value. I would highly recommend Tev's Kitchen and I can't wait for more locations to open up near me Please give this a like if this was helpful

I went to Tev's last Thursday... and I'm still thinking about it. I got the lamb chops and a steak dinner. My first bite was the steak. I immediately knew... that this place was the real deal. Tender as h*ll. Absolutely delicious. I couldn't ask for not one single thing. Duh-lish-us. My family... god bless 'em... loved it too. And they are food snobs, because they can burn. I ate from Tev's kitchen on Sunday I had the fried chicken peas and rice mac&cheese,cabbage everything was OK until I got to the peas and rice there was two pieces of thread in my peas and rice at first I thought it was some hair until I pulled it out of my mouth and seen it was some black thread. I was going to take it back on Monday cause by the time I ate my food they were already closed and I didn't know they weren't open on Mondays the food been in my refrigerator for 2 days so I threw it out a 30 dollar lost. What's so good. The salmon dish was pricey, but very well worth it as the vegetables broccolini and cabbage were fresh. The salmon was seasoned with a Jamaican flair. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. My son had wings and a double order of mac & cheese. read more

The wait is finally over!!!! I have been stalking this business for months and today I finally had the chance to buy a plate! I ordered my plate ONLINE and arranged for a 515pm pickup. YES the online portal gives you the opportunity to select a pickup time!! I received a text message informing me that my order was ready for pickup about 10 minutes before the time I selected. When I arrived the process was quick and easy! They have a separate line for people who ordered online and they have signage outside of where to go if u are just picking up a plate. The line to actually sit down and eat was LONG!! So u know the food must be GOOD!!! They did not disappoint at all!! The food was great! I had the short ribs with mac and cheese and cabbage with a free drink. I will definitely be back again very soon!!! read more

Delicious and well seasoned food. The service was quick and pleasant. The ambiance was not there at all, however they are under construction so totally understandable. My friend who is from Jamaica tried the food as well and said it's the real deal! Can't wait to go back to LA to try their other entrees. We ordered the short rib plate. FIRE! Don't slip on trying this place. Hidden gem that only the real ones know about. Special menu the days and hours they are open. Follow them on social media to know the deal. Parking in scarce and there can be a wait for the food but worth it. Seats to wait but not eat. read more

Shardae and the team at Tev's Kitchen are amazing! First and foremost, order online when possible; shorter wait and less of a hassle. However, remember to bring your id and the card that you made the purchase with. They make no exceptions for anyone, at least the man who assisted me didn't. My family ordered the short ribs plate, the oxtail and barbi fry wings plate, the short ribs and jerk chicken plate, as well as a side of oxtail sauce. All of it tasted absolutely divine! My only quibble lies with the size of the oxtails. A bit on the small and not so meaty side, but the meat present and sauce tasted great. There was a massive line the Sunday afternoon that I picked up my order for walk-ins, but no line for the online orders pick up. I'm repeating this for the impatient ones who insists on getting in and out as quickly as possible. I don't regret coming here and will definitely come back again! Great service. The Mac n cheese had a great taste; however it was over cooked and saturated with the sauce from the chicken which was over the Mac n cheese. If I return, I would ask for the chicken to be placed in a separate container, so that I can really taste the Mac n cheese. read more

The only negatives about this place are the wait and the short ribs didn't have much meat on them for the price. The flavor however, is ridiculously incredible and I am a harsh critic. You get a ton of cabbage and macaroni and cheese as well. I'm going to try his wings because I know they're good. I'll go back and stand in line because it is really good food, the staff are very pleasant, and he believes in Jesus. Brother, I will continue to support you. read more

2nd time at Tev's and the food does NOT disappoint. Jerk chicken, oxtails everything is sooo flavorful he captured that taste without burning off your tongue. Macaroni ngl was some of the best I ever had. My only complaint originally was the wait but since the last time I went they made some changes and I was there less than 30mins today. Is it pricey yes but you will most definitely get what you paid for and will eat minimum 2x off one plate. read more

Found Tev's Kitchen on Yelp and it didn't disappoint. I had the oxtail plate and my wife had the short rib plate. Both were the best in class we have had in a long time. They give you enough food for a lunch and early dinner. Excellent food. The line moves well and the wait was pleasantly short. This restaurant gets a 5 stars because I genuinely enjoy the food and support small businesses. The wait is not a problem especially if everything was home cooked, it takes time for perfection. The staff was friendly and helpful. I got the Rib Eye steak strips with the cajun garlic butter sauce. Everything was delicious. Great portions. Its a bit pricey but the food/staff was so great ill still give it 5 stars. I went on a weekday around 2. Spent about 30 mins in line/waiting for food. Not sure id wait 2-3 hours on weekend tho read more

I loved everything about this place! Very organized food was great! I had the jerk chicken and The mac & cheese was so tasty I'm going to double up on Mac & cheese instead of the rice. The Cool aid was on point reminded me of my child hood days! The German chocolate cake was tasty!! And the pineapple ginger beer had me sucking my tongue! Lol. The service was great and the place is so organized. The king with the badge set the tone and kept it right from beginning to end! Even when my little grand daughter tried to turn that corner without mommy and nana! Thank you king and thank Tev's for a fabulous ambiance. I use to frequent this spot when it was the neighborhood bar. The last place I danced with my mom she's in heaven now. I will be back. I even played the bean bag toss with my granddaughter more memories! I forgot to take a picture of m meal because my tongue was telling my fingers to keep lifting that fork! Now all I will need the next time is a Guinness beer to go with my meal LOL. read more

The staff were super friendly and on point The Food: (A word on heat. They have 6 levels from Country with none to Howlin. We can take a decent amount of heat. I went medium and my son went hot. This would be right at home on a North Shore plate lunch. Shake Fries: Perfectly fired crinkle fries shaken in that spicing they use. Dipped in the comeback sauce or on their own they were awesome. Banana Pudding: OMG so good. With the traditional vanilla wafer on top. Rich and luscious it was a perfect end to the meal. The only downside? This location is small and if you want to eat there there are only a few tables. Parking also sucked. Those thinks aside excellent place

If you come here, order this. The pork belly bun was my personal favorite. The braised pork belly practically melted in my mouth, and everything was seasoned beautifully. Simple, balanced, and incredibly satisfying. The pan-fried pork buns were the only disappointment. The filling felt underseasoned, and the bottoms lacked the crispy crust I was hoping for. They were fine, but not something I would order again. The beef noodle soup was solid. The broth was excellent, with a depth of flavor and spice profile that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the beef shank was overcooked and a bit too dry (乾) for my liking. For dessert, we had the Hakka mochi. It was served warm, pleasantly chewy, and not overly sweet. It was a nice way to end the meal and made me curious to try some of their other desserts next time. This was overall a fantastic meal. Not every dish was perfect, but the highlights were memorable enough that I'll gladly return. The popcorn chicken alone is worth the visit.

there was a line outside and inside of this place. my boy put an online order in this afternoon for a short rib plate and chicken curry plate. security verified the online order at the door gave us a ticket and directed us to the pick up window. you will need your ID, the card utilized in your transaction and your emailed transaction receipt to verify your order with security on our way out a cheese cake vendor was giving out cheese cake sample bites. said she was there every saturday. we got the plain sample, sweet potatoe sample and i forgot the name of the other one but she said she got oreo cheese cake too we are digging into these plates now and im loving the little fried plantains. the way the flavors in the mac n cheese compliment the flavors in the short rib and the curry should be considered nothing short of witch craft. the rice bed under the protein and the cabbage are also delicious. i hear the menu changes daily. check their instagram and you see their daily menu. hearty portions, mouth watering flavors, strongly recommend ! "Tev's Kitchen: Where the Mac & Cheese is Fire, but the Rice Needs a Rescue!" Man, let me tell you about Tev's Kitchen. I waited 45 minutes for my food. That's not fast food, that's a hostage situation! Now, the mac and cheese? Oh, that was the truth! Creamy, cheesy, and seasoned just right. I took a bite and started speaking in tongues. But the rice? Man, that rice was so plain, it made white bread look spicy. It was just mushy white rice, not the rice and peas I was expecting. The drinks? All powdered. Diabetes-inducing Kool-Aid and Country Time. I took a sip and felt my blood sugar spike. The location is decent, it's in a former firehouse. And the security guy outside? Cool dude, really doing his best. But it seemed like they were kinda blaming their customers for a debit card fraud issue. Like, "You got scammed? That's on you!" Come on now.
