came in Sunday morning. ordered two plates and a lb of ribs. brisket was good and tender as always, but the ribs I ordered were all ends pieces. paid $16 dollars for this shit. you should never serve the ends of ribs. should be used for rib tips or something else. also they warmed the food up in microwave. this place used to be good but now I see they are going down. just like every place of business start out good and later fail. Very good bbq on the westside near the energy corridor. Its authentic like my family makes and I can tell the time and love put into smoking the bbq meat. I like the baked potatoes and sliced beef sandwiches. Can order online without hassle but they are in a busy shopping center which is the only thing I dislike. Give it a try, they won't disappoint. I Came across Hitters BBQ on Yelp. The pictures of the food looked so delicious, and it's what inspired me to check the place out. I don't usually try new places, and I was a bit scared at first. I walked in being undecided on whether I wanted the brisket sandwich or the loaded baked potato. This is the best brisket I've had in Katy by a long shot! It was extremely smoky and tender with the perfect amount of fat to keep it juicy and beefy. Very smokey and the sauce is just amazing - a perfect blend on my chopped brisket sandwich. Wow, given all the positives reviews I really wanted to love this place. It is an old school, barrel smoked BBQ. Simple salt and pepper only rub. An a axing amount of smoke flavor. I ordered the family pack with one pound brisket and 1/2 pound ribs. For sides I got the potato salad. Brisket: simple seasonings, lots of smokey flavor, good smoke ring. Slices were cut to thick (meat just falls apart) and fat not fully rendered. My guess cooked at too high of temperature, with constant smoke, no Texas crutch (foil wrapped at end), and too long. I would also guess, the brisket was a choice grade and not trimmed much. Good homemade bbq. I score it a 6 Ribs: cooked similarly to brisket. Good bark, parts of rib were moist, but some parts were dry. I am am a rib man, and these disappointed. Is bore it a 4. Potato salad: great mix of mayo and mustard, large rice on potatoes, but The batch I had was inedible - way too much salt....like seawater. Must gave an error....big disappointment. I score it a 1. The owner is professional and courteous, and from the reviews I have seen and my own personal experiences, Hitters BBQ is in high demand. I live in Cypress, but am on the way to the new Westheimer location just for the stuffed potatoes and brisket sandwiches! First off the place was right off Fry Rd in front of Ritters, so that was not hard to find. The windows were closed, so I thought that they weren't open. I ordered the family pack for 4 with ribs and brisket with coleslaw and brisket beans as the sides. I also ordered 2 brisket baked potatoes. The food took awhile to come out, but it was worth the wait. There was tons of food. We ended up feeding way more than 4 people...more like 8. The ribs were soft and the meat literally pulled away from the bone so easily. The brisket was moist, yet not too fatty. The beans were delicious, definitely my favorite. The coleslaw wasn't that great. It was mustard based which I wasn't too fond of, but it was pretty good. The potatoes were huge. I could've definitely fed 4 of me. Definitely worth it and oh so delicious. In conclusion, this place is pretty darn good. You get plenty of food for a reasonable price. I'd definitely come back. read more

We have been frequent customers of Hitter's for about the last 6 months and have only been disappointed when they are out of something. The brisket is always tender and smoky. The sausage is also very good. Once the spicy sausage was a bit too peppery, but it still disappeared off the table! Ribs have never disappointed, and he recently added turkey legs to the menu. Tender, juicy, easily pulls off the bone with a nice smoky taste. The potato salad is good basic stuff, but my favorites are the cole slaw and beans. The cole slaw is creamy with a bit of mustard to give it a nice tang. And the beans...mmmm! Smoky sweet with little chunks of brisket in there too! The BBQ sauce is good, as well, a sweet tangy sauce. But we seldom use it, the meat is so good by itself. Quite wisely, he doesn't do any desserts, concentrating his efforts on outstanding que. But if you really need a fix for your sweet tooth, walk across the patio to Ritter's for a pint or quart of one of the flavors of the day while your BBQ order is being prepared. Just finished enjoying this for the first time. It was delicious!!! I am extremely picky but everything was great. I had brisket sandwich and two sides of brisket beans. Cost was more than I expected BUT WELL WORTH IT. Portions fit the cost and you do not feel they cut corners on your meal. They even included a roll. Also the lady wearing the white shirt who took my order was sweet, professional and offered lemonade. Picture a nice food truck. It was clean on the outside and appeared organized and clean on the inside window view. No strange odors came from the window which sometimes food trucks have. It's too important to not pay attention to where your food is coming from. As stated earlier, I'm picky so I detailed this for the other pickies like me.
