Lots of negative reviews, so I decided to try it for myself. This is not a bad restaurant. The salad bar was fresh and had multiple options (see my photos). It was not as expansive as Fogo de Chão, but most people come to a Brazilian steakhouse for the meats. The lobster bisque was excellent. We had a variety of meats and they were all very good. The filet mignon and the pork ribs were outstanding. Service was good, and our waiter checked on us regularly. The restaurant was clean, and not overcrowded. It's not a Michelin three star steakhouse, but for $60 you get an excellent meal and there's certainly no reason to go home hungry read more

I wish I could give this half a Star. This was genuinely one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at in my life. We were sat around 6:10 and there were maybe 4 other tables in the whole place. It took the waiter around 15 minutes to come check on us and take our drink order. Then, the salad bar was actually disgusting. All the food looked and tasted like it was very old. The Pão de queijo tasted like it was old and microwaved. The French fries were disgusting, and the bananas tasted like sugar and alcohol. Also, the woman who gave us the Pão de queijo, French fries, and mashed potatoes was disrespectful. Everyone who works there clearly does not want to be there and makes everyone else notice how much they don't want to be there. The manager finally came over and was very nice, he gave me my drink for free and then my wife and I left. Fire everyone, take a wrecking ball to the place, and go to Fogo de Chao instead. Another review said the food was salty -- I completely agree. Not a grotesque amount of salt, but more than one would typically prefer. Enjoyable cuts of meat with slightly slower service than expected. Salad bar is much smaller than fogo de chao, but still good choices and like chimichurri, mint sauce, and lobster bisque available. Server was attentive and refilled water routinely. Inside was clean and not too loud. Bathrooms are located outside restaurant towards casino. Overall, got STUFFED and enjoyed. read more

Came here with a group of about 20 people with Puerto Rico locals, people traveling from New York and Spain to try this all you can eat buffet. We were seated really quickly which was awesome because we were all hungry. Our waitress was extremely nice although I forgot her name. We had a ton of different meats that ranged from chicken, pork, sausage, 5 different kinds of steaks, a lot of different sides and a bunch of good drinks! The price was a little expensive but definitely worth it if you can eat all the food offered to you! read more

I ate by myself for the first time here, God bless it. It started as i was staying at the Sheraton and my room smelled like a cigar lounge and I had a headache so I decided to just eat by myself. "haha, look that fat guy doesn't have anyone to eat with. Pathetic!" Maybe, but I was hungry, was not eating in that bastion of second hand smoke, and I was indeed by myself and overweight. I ordered to caipirinhas and they were amazing. They do not have diet soda which is a bummer but it is PR after all. Generally speaking, it is also very challenging to find places that have skim milk, I digress. The salad bar was stocked well and overall it was great. The meat service was very slow and you got the same offerings 1000 times and I had to request specific cuts repeatedly. But I got everything I wanted. Stay away! Salad bar is minimal at best, service was slow and lacking. All the meat was well done and tough as well as unnecessarily salty. For $60 a plate I would advise anyone to go anywhere else. I had dinner at this location last night, the surroundings were quite nice but I didn't go there for that. After being seated it took 10-15 minutes before a server came over, and the place wasn't crowded. The salad buffet was very limited ,their was no prosciutto and the deli cuts looked liked they were store bought. In addition the bread was the same quality that's available at Costco. Food- we went for my daughter bday on a Friday at 6pm. I grill meat alm the time and have beend to the texas de brazils in Virginia, Nevada and Texas. This place HAD TO be serving left over or night before meat. Meat was dry and tough. Not what we expect when we visit one of our favorite chains. Service was ok- they tried hard but didnt have the cuts we asked and kept bringing by overcooked well done skewers. Ambiance is typical texas de brazil. Hostess it was nice , we sat down and the waitress came very fast. It was our first time here so she explained everything. Just see the pictures * meat - 5 of 5 - staff goes table by table cutting the meat that you want. All were excellent! My fav was garlic chicken !!! Drinks **** * Acai Martini- 0 of 5 , was terrible, too strong, tasted like medicine * Sangria- 5 of 5 - it was excellent! It was the Brazilian Sangria, amazing, a little bit too expensive , 40 bucks. We chose to eat dinner here because we had been here before, many years ago, when we last stayed at the attached Sheraton. At the time, it was good. I cannot recommend it now. Why does one come to a Brazilian steakhouse? To eat MEAT. When asked by our waiter how we liked our meat prepared, my husband said "medium rare", I said "medium" and our son said "well done" (he's a teen; we're still training him!). Everything that came to our table was well done, even after the waiter asked what else they could bring and once again we requested medium and medium rare. Well-done means dry, touch and chewy. I'm sorry, but for a $250 meal, those should not be the adjectives used to describe the food. The salad bar was just OK; not the extensive selection we've come to expect from this type of restaurant. On a positive note, we really enjoyed the manchego cheese and smoked salmon from the salad bar. The lobster bisque was also delicious even without any noticeable lobster bits. The house sangria was nice. The service was OK: they kept the water glasses filled but did not bring fresh plates when it was apparent we needed them. As far as ambiance, there were candles on all of the tables, but the servers didn't light them when seating people. That would have been a nice touch. Why have candles if you're not going to use them?? Overall, this was a disappointing meal. Perhaps it was just an off night in the kitchen. read more

If you like red meat, you should love this place. They are not the best cuts I have ever had but they keep bringing it until you indicate you are finished. My favorite was the garlic crusted top sirloin. The bacon wrapped filet was also excellent. Also noteworthy: the Parmesan crusted pork loin and the sausage. It's a roll of the dice regarding the temperature of the cuts. They ask for preference. I requested medium rare. However, almost everything was medium well. The meal includes a all you can eat salad bar, which has a large range of lettuce, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, etc., as well as soups and pastas. The meals also comes with mashed potatoes, little cheese muffins, and fried bananas. Service is courteous although just a tad on the slow side. A decent wine list with some nice by the glass selections. It's a pretty good experience for $50. Come hungry! read more

Can you say food coma? Well that's exactly what you'll get after eating here. Typical rodizio they bring around meats until you can't eat anymore. But there is a catch. If your hear for the read meat (let's hope you are) I would stay away from the early offerings as they tend to fill you up before they offer their prime cuts. Now for this place. The salad bar was fresh, good and overall I would rate at the four stars level. The picanha cut was not offered till " late" at the table. The pork and chicken were overcooked and extremely dry. Actually as we sat there for over two hours (a fairly large group of us). These were the only cuts that were offered as seen on the picture. Overpriced for sure and with a personnel that is stuffy and fall short of expectations for the price I simply would not return to this particular location. read more

Visited this restaurant inside of our hotel here in San Juan worst experience ever. We had high expectations waited two days,since Mothers Day To make reservations and finally arrive with my son and family and was disappointed. The servers ONLY BROUGHT MEAT TO OUR TABLES 4 times wasted meat on my sister. Meat burned when asked manager why meat servers not coming to our table she dismissed us and still no unlimited meats came to table. We sat there an additional 40min no steak chicken or anything. This was the worst experience from the hostess until the end. We were treated very poorly and couldn't understand why.. we are very understanding. The staff was so rude. The waitress never asked us what we wanted to drink but brought us bottle water. I brought my boyfriend for his first time and it was so disappointing because I have never had a bad experience before. We never got bread (we didn't care) but it was never offered. We sat 17 min. My husband and I are in Puerto Rico to celebrate my birthday. We both love the food, atmosphere and overall experience when dining at Texas de Brazil. However, I had to only give them 3 stars due to the restaurant allowing dogs....yes dogs, 2 of them barking and all to dine in the restaurant amongst the patrons in a full dining room. No they weren't a service dogs. They were barking and looked like family pets. This is as a disappointment due to the owners picking the barking dogs up walking through the restaurant around the dining guests with hair flying. read more

Pretty good Brazilian BBQ although not quite up to the standard of the big chain (present in PR, too) or better Brazilian bbq places in the US. Still, if you are at the Sheraton or the convention center, this is a great dinner option. The salad bar is slightly better than Fogo, and the staff are equally friendly. The thing which makes Fogo better is that they have a couple of the more expensive cuts more broadly available -- Texas de Brazil seems to serve the lower end items more often, so you probably won't see the best cuts more than once. read more

Located just across the Convention Center and outside de Sheraton hotel, Texas do Brasil is no doubt the best option to eat in the area. For just one price, they offer the famous rodizio, with all you can eat non stop awesome meet options, an upscale vegetarian selection of salads and mouthwatering dishes (the garlic mash potato is the best I had) and sushis. This from less than $30 on Thursdays and Fridays lunch time. Apart from that, if you are not too hungry, they also have amazing options from the bar menu, from $9 (a nice peace of best quality sausage, chicken and beef). Or a full meal from $13 to $17. Service at the bar is outstanding. My only regret was not give them I try early on the week. I really recommend as the best option if you are in a conference at the Convention Centre or if you are a tourist looking for a great meal experience. read more

On our very first night in Puerto Rico, we'd heard of this place and I was DYING to try it out!!! We have Fogo De Chao here in Austin and I love it there, so I simply had to give this Texas de Brazil a try, as well. Allow me to say, I was NOT disappointed!!! The staff was super attentive and friendly and beyond eager to please! I indicated that I was only interested in eating the lamb chops and cooked perfectly medium and they brought me skewer after skewer of it perfectly prepared!! I was in lambchop heaven!!!! Their salad bar was also truly outstanding (I was eating the bisque with broken up bacon in it.. don't judge! Try it! LOL) and very difficult not to fill up on since I went there for the lamb! ;-) I highly recommend this place!! Definitely worth every penny!! read more

It was not a super busy spot, not like the one at home in Detroit Michigan, but was perfect for my small 14 people wedding party dinner after the ceremony. The service was top notch and the meats came out as a constant and glutinous stream. I am the only person that's ever been to a churrascheria out of the 14. Everyone loved the salad bar and the meats. I had salad only since I am a vegetarian as well as 5 other family members and no one was disappointed or still full after our meal. The fish stew was good and the lobster bisque was my favorite for sure. I had the machego cheese, chick pea salad, mushroom in wine sauce, mixed greens with the Brazilian vinaigrette, the goat cheese, asparagus and green beans and potato salad and some sushi. The sushi was my least favorite, the rice was off and I couldn't stomach any more after trying two pieces. In fact it made me nauseous. The cheese gf buns were also a favorite and i ate until I was stuffed. My favorite restaurant we ate at during our stay in San Juan!! The first compliments must go to our incredible waiter and the entire staff. Our waiter was so attentive to our needs, even when we got up to fill our plates with more food he was right there to make sure our waters were full and our napkins were neatly folded. 5 star service!! OMG - THE FOOD AND THE MEAT. I've been to another Brazilian steakhouse (at home in California) but this place was OH so good. They have such a variety of meat from steak to chicken to seafood to pork and everything else in between. Even when we turned our cards over (green means "bring on the meat" and red means "nah") they still came around to see if we wanted a piece or to give us more of some other cut of meat that we liked. The restaurant was fairly empty while we were there but we didn't mind at all. If you're staying at the Sheraton, or even in a hotel nearby, this spot is definitely worth a try. read more

But unfortunately we had the worse experience ever here for 5 of us we paid close to $300 we only had two serving of meat I've been to the one in Tampa,Fl the meat guys came around every minute or less the guys here only came around every 20 minutes or more this has been the worse experience we've had in Puerto Rico since being here on vacation. We were super excited and highly disappointed if you guys close at 9pm stop taking reservations at 7 instead of 8 cause now we're here out of $300 & have to go find food somewhere else.. The good: Covid precautions are excellent. The waiter was very attentive. Drinks (white sangria) was lovely. The acceptable: Salad bar was ok, variety is ok but falls short to other churrasquerias I've been to. The unacceptable: Meet service was extremely slow, in the hour and a half we were there only 6 times they came by the table. And although we were asked for our likes for meat temperature (two medium well diners and two rare diners) the first four services were either medium well or well done. Always with a promise to bring rare cuts on the following visit. After asking politely for rare cuts they came with not rare, not even blue but stone cold rare cuts! Being in a restaurant that specializes in meat and not knowing what the different meat temperatures are is plainly unacceptable! To be honest, We felt that they reacted in a very unprofessional way when we requested to have rare cuts. Even when we called the manager, although he apologized and offered to make it right, he wasn't able to identify ir acknowledge that they were serving raw meat and not rare meat! Time between rounds is extremely long 10-15 mins, and variety brought to the table very disappointing. We only got to try picanha or top loin, filet and dry chicken breast. On my way to San Juan I eagerly anticipated my visit at this restaurant. I have wanted to go for the longest time, due to the many different kind of meats. A couple of days ago I finally saw an opportunity. A coupon was available online where it was stated that a dinner course meal, that is valued at $60.00, with the coupon it would come out to the total of $38 dollars per plate. We invited a couple of friends and we all agreed to buy the coupons to share a meal. There was an established limit of 4 coupons per table, we thought we would not be able to go since we were a party of 5. We contacted Texas de Brazil and no matter manager Joshua to the rescue, he was very nice and waived this rule for our group. And we made a reservation for a Tuesday. The coupon/deal stated the following, "Pay $38 dollars instead of $61.99 for dinner in a 3 course meal that includes: Salad Bar + Selection of meat without limit + 2 Side dishes (mashed potatoes and "amarillos en almibar") + 1 dessert + soda. Option available from Monday to Thursday. We got there and we were immediately seated. We ordered two passion fruit mojitos, unfortunately they messed up our order and brought two regular ones. No matter we told the waiter to just replace my wife's mojito with the passion fruit, I gladly drank the regular one. They brought the drink and our group conversed. The place is really nice and looks fantastic. We swung by the salad bar which had smoked salmon, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, salami, shrimp etc. We really liked the shrimp. And the lobster bisque was delicious. Of course, due to the pandemic there were stipulations in place to avoid any type of infection which was great. Due to establishment rules a button that is placed at every table lets the staff know if in said table the customers want meat, we made sure that it was always green. We tried the flank steak which was savory. The lamb, Filet mignon, pork loins although some of us skipped some of the offered meats. After a while, even though the button was green, we noticed that after 10 minutes... 20....30 they stopped serving meat at our table. Since the coupon stated we were offered a dessert we opted to eat it, since the evening was dying out due to the lack of service. We opted to look at the dessert menu, and it was clarified that the dessert course was a New York style cheesecake which we were surprised since it was not stated in the coupon. It was elaborated to us that we could not eat any of the desserts in menu. But hey cheesecake is cheesecake, so we were more than happy to eat it. They provided a piece for each of us, the problem was, it was frozen. We asked if we could take it home, they told us it wasn't allowed. That the least to say was bizarre. We felt horrible leaving food on the table, but we could not eat it, it was too hard. We opted to pay our bill, which it turns out that soda on the coupon means one cup of soda. Although all these little slights showed up during our evening, we certainly did not let it ruin it. The total of our meal was $237.55. 2 cokes were $7.00, the coupons came out at a total of $190.00 and the two mojitos were $24.00. We paid $47.55 and even though we weren't happy with the service we left a $33.15 tip. We were very nice to the staff said thank you, paid and left. After our meal we all felt that the service was affected because of the use of coupons vs normal pay. So, in conclusion our experience in Texas de Brazil was nothing special. It was disappointing, I say this because it is a very expensive place to go eat a meal. And if you pay $60 plus dollars for a plate, you want to make sure that it is valued as such. It was just like any other restaurant, the service was choppy, although the meats were great. Really could not say I would recommend it to anyone. read more
