I've been meaning to check out this place for a while and am so glad I finally did! I came on a weekend (can never go early enough on weekdays!) so there was a long line, but it moved pretty quickly and the wait was worth it. I ordered a half dozen box of donuts with the following: croughnut, apple fritter, glazed, buttermilk, red velvet, and Bavarian cream filled donut. My favorite was the buttermilk donut and then the croughnut. So good! The red velvet was a bit too dense for my preference and the Bavarian cream was a little too sweet for me. They had a good variety of donuts to choose from and the service was friendly. I'm looking forward to going back to try their other flavors! read more

Yee haw, I'm so thankful that this place still exists in the location its in! There is still no other place I know that makes fluffy light donuts. I mean there's krispy kreme in Manassas, but that's almost a 25 min drive if you're in Fairfax or you gotta go all the way to Alexandria's location which imo it's not worth it. But I love supporting the local businesses and I will never not ever snag myself some treats from here. I have come here to write about this nice little place in Centreville, VA! First of all let me say this to begin with...Uh-Maze-Zing! I stumbled on this spot on a Friday during the whole Covid situation. I was looking for some breakfast to take into work so I thought I'd grab a doughnut or 3...(don't judge me). I saw that they had breakfast sandwiches and it was a payday so I went ahead and splurged on it and the doughnuts. When I bit into that sandwich...I almost died. No. Literally I legit almost crashed my car because I was on the highway and it was so good, it had me looking at my sandwich like what type of sorcery is this!?? Their croissants have a sweet syrup (possibly honey) on the top of it and the egg is actually legit and not some egg beaters. The bacon was crisp to perfection and it blended well as a whole. After demolishing the sandwich, I ate my doughnuts with my coffee at work and I'm normally a KKreme guy, but these doughnuts could give them a run! I don't understand the hype. I went early on a weekday and it was pretty busy. Ordered a croughnut, old fashioned, cinnamon sugar cake, cinnamon sugar yeast, and a boston creme. Massive donuts and a great price. This is my first time at Texas Donuts. After reading a handful of Yelp reviews I decided to drive further out and test it out for myself. I ordered the Cronut donut and a coffee; although the coffee was fine, the donut was massive and tasted pretty good (no filling). For the price, I thought this place was excellent and even the service was pretty good, too. Texas Donuts is dangerously close to home. My husband stops by here at least once a month (if not bi-weekly) for their donuts, cronuts and breakfast sandwiches. I've also brought a dozen to work (pre-COVID) and they barely lasted an hour before the whole box was gone! My favorite donut is the cronut (crossaint donut) which is fluffy, flaky, and chewy -- all at the same time. They have the regular flavors for their donuts (nothing out of the ordinary) and they're definitely colossal and filling. They have several drinks available for purchase in the fridge and only sell hot coffee (no iced coffee!). Everything is reasonably priced and the service is friendly. I'm a bit upset I am just finding out about this place. I remember trying to look for it a year ago and was unable to find it. On my way to Jirah cafe, we saw it in the strip mall! We had to try them out! My bF got a filled chocolate donut. They fill them to order, so they are fresh! I got the cronut, which was very light and not overly sweet. We also got a konish, which is a hot dog inside of a bun. I normally dislike Donuts as they have no taste to me, except for pure sugar. These donuts are not drowning in pure sugar, which allow you to actually taste and experience the differences in the products. My BF and I also noticed, and appreciated, the reasonable drink prices in their Milks, sodas, energy drinks, etc. They were better than 7-11 prices and more reasonable to purchase; so I got a large milk and him and OJ. When currently all of my friendships are basically handled curbside, I felt so special to be gifted a box of Texas Doughnuts one Saturday afternoon! As soon as I opened the box I was greeted by the sweet, wafting area of pure saccharin. There was one of each specialty doughnut to try but my absolute favorite was the cinnamon swirl. It was the perfect mix of cinnamon roll + doughnut and I loved how the glaze cracked in my mouth everytime I bit into it. The doughnuts here are very sweet and remind me of the OG doughnut wholesale spot, Shopper's Food Warehouse from the 90's. They dough is super soft, fresh, and pliable and everything is covered by a nice heavy glaze. These donuts -- and cronuts! -- are wonderful!! Texas Donuts are full of flavor, and I was happily surprised by the range of options, especially for a small-looking shop. The donuts seemed mostly to be various flavors of not-too-heavy-or-dense cake donuts, but there were also petal-shaped old-fashioned donuts, filled donuts -- which the staff quickly fills to order from four filling options! -- fluffy glazed donuts, and cronuts (which I'd never had before but are huge and flakey). And I'm most likely forgetting types, I'm sure! Out of six I tried after my first visit, five were amazing and one (a frosted red velvet cupcake) was underwhelming; my wife's opinion was that the sixth was still an excellent donut that was only underwhelming in comparison to the others as it was a bit less flavorful than they were -- we'll see next time. Checked this place out several times pre-covid and the quality and friendly prices are still the same now. +Blueberry cake donut: I wasn't expecting too much but it was actually pretty good. Some cake donuts can be pretty dense but this one had a good mix of being dense and soft at the same time. The taste of the blueberry was throughout the donut and I personally liked it (although I tend to like blueberry cake donuts). +Cronut: I wasn't expecting much because I've had cronuts from a very well-known cronut bakery (that shall not be named) and thought it was just okay... but Texas Donut's cronuts were actually really good! I know this one will be my to-go for the future. The layers are flaky and buttery and it has the right amount of sweetness from the glaze. It's one of their premium donuts but so worth it! +Strawberry donut: I've been looking for a solid strawberry donut that doesn't have any sprinkles so I was excited that they had some available when I went. I was a bit skeptical finding kolaches in VA so I decided to buy only one. I took one bite and it took me back to Texas--the soft, buttery, brioche-like bread was exactly like I remembered it. The first bite of the savory hot dog, melty cheese, and bits of jalapeño made me want more. They heat it up for you really quick in the microwave. It may feel like a glorified hot dog to some but to others who are nostalgic about kolaches would appreciate these. I just wished they had more/different flavors, I would definitely be the first one to line up to buy some. For the friendly prices/service, solid quality, and taste I would rate this place a 5. Bah! I forgot to check in again when I was here last time! Nonetheless, these are by far the best donuts I've ever devoured! Thinking about them makes me salivate! I was here last week, and due to COVID 19, they are only allowing 3 customers inside at a time. I saw through the window there were already 3 people inside, so I waited outside for 2 minutes, max. As you walk in, you're greeted with the sweet aroma of deliciousness and the nice ladies behind the counter! I had ordered my dozens 1 day ahead so that I can definitely get my favorites! My donut babies were all packed and ready for me when I got there. ...and I did wear my mask! My favorites are cronut (fusion between croissant and donut, ginormous in size) and maple bacon donuts (cuz who doesnt like sweet and salty)... I havent tried, but I think I can finish a dozen of them by myself! These two are definitely worth a try! All of their donuts are so fluffy and airy, eating a bunch of them was not overwhelming. Another thing I found out, they're not stale at all the next day! I was told by the pretty lady owner, their donuts take a while to "restock" as they wait to get the dough to rise before frying them. I was and still am so impressed with the quality and the taste of these donuts...!
