The new sleaze in used car sales seems to be to publish a great price on your website and then add "dealer added options" to the price when you've got a buyer. In Texas Nissan's case, they talked all about their 137-point inspection process without mentioning that they add a surcharge for that. When we told them we didn't want the dealer added options, they said the work was already done so they couldn't. To me, if you need to recoup a cost, you include that in the price, not try to slip it in hoping the buyer doesn't notice. We argued this with them and got up to leave three times. Each time, they came down on the price and finally gave us the deal we wanted. We paid more for the car but the interest rate got the payment where we wanted it to be so it was a wash. My suggestion if you're in the market for a used car, call first and ask what they charge for such "options" so that you know the price going in. If they still try to stick you with things, be prepared to walk away. read more

ZERO STARS! The last time I was there they did a 21 point inspection and they scratched up the hood of my car. Now this time they wanted to charge me over $2,100.00 to lift the manifold to fix 2 hoses and replace the gaskets etc.. and they charged me over $100 just to look at it. I said no thanks and went some where else and Well Well... icost only $500 - $800 to fix the problem near the water pump and did not have to raise the manifold after all to fix the problem. Wow.....dishonestly at its finest. Our salesman, Les, explained their MSRP markup policy on a new Rogue and we agreed on a $4,000 trade-in plus a new graduate discount of $500. In financing we asked for a breakdown/printout of the pricing TWICE. When we finally got them to show us their breakdown the trade-in was $3,000 and no new college graduate discount was applied. Quite an experience for a first time car buyer and college graduate. When called out on their attempted theft of $1,500 the finance man fled, the salesman disappeared and the manager then said he had no evidence of anyone saying $4,000 despite three people having heard him and the salesman acknowledging he had made a mistake before being replaced by store manager. Zero stars and a police report would be a better response for this dealership. Buyer beware! read more

PURE WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!!!! I started the process at 230 pm with a simple phone call and the process started smoothly. I gave the salesman the information of what I want and I was willing to pay. Finally after haggling at 615pm we had an agreement on terms and told the salesman that we were on our way. We live 24 minutes from the dealership. As we were driving to the dealership (629 pm) we were told that someone else was looking at the car and was interested also. We were asked (633 pm) to give a deposit over the phone to MAYBE hold the car. We stated again that we were on the way. We then received a call (639 pm) that the car was sold!!!! I was also told that the person looking at the car had a deal on the table since yesterday. (Sooooooo it was in the process of being sold already??) They add things like pin stripes and locking lug nuts to every car so they can charge you more. Of course you don't have the option to remove them to save money. The first thing they do when you show up with your trade-in is take your keys to "check it out." Good luck getting your keys back if negotiations break down. We had a terrible experience buying a used car there and, a few years later when we were ready for a new car, I foolishly thought that we could have a better experience on their new car lot. Wrong. Same shady sales practices. I vowed to never buy a car there again, but still went there for service. When I went to check why my key fob wasn't unlocking the doors, they said I needed a new fob for hundreds and still tried to charge me for a battery I didn't need. I told them I didn't want a new fob and left. Then our other fob stopped working. So I took the car to another dealership where they were able to fix the car so the key fobs work again for half the price I was quoted at Texas Nissan. They lied, tricked, and harassed me. Yes, harassed. After I bought the car, I got daily emails and phone calls. Finally, Kevin called my job and embarrassed me to find me! He needed me to complete a survey saying he'd done a great job. Keven told me that if, after the first year, my miles approached more than 12,000, I could purchase more miles. Lie. He told me the dealership gives free oil changes and car washes each Saturday. They give free car washes but oil changes are not free. That was a lie. He was nice and he was personable but I think Brandon's bad training tainted him. Brandon insulted me. He talked down to me and said I would always drive a lower end car if I insisted on staying within my budget. He asked me repeatedly how much I was currently paying, as if I was lying, and insisted I must have been in an accident or had my car towed or something during the time I owned my trade in. He told me my car had a back up camera, a touch screen, navigation, and the ability to load my apps. It doesn't. He said the car was white. It's pearl white. He said said the car gets 40mpg. It doesn't. Sure I read the paperwork and asked other salesmen about the car before I left but I didn't like the fact that I had to repeatedly tell my salesman that he was lying to me. The finance guy kept shucking and jiving and telling me he was blackanese. Stop it. He sold me a maintenance policy and said all maintenance would be covered. Repeatedly, he told me there was nothing I would need that wouldn't be covered. I went for maintenance yesterday and that was a lie! They didn't change my filter or top off my fluids because those things are not covered though they are listed in the 5K maintenance plan. In fact, all that's really covered, is a tire rotation and oil change which always comes with a 21pt check. That means that each milestone service check will cost me more and more money on top of my monthly maintenance fee. Just say no to your blackanese finance guy! He lied. He told me he would contact my insurance and have the car added. He neglected that task and I drove a car that was uninsured until my better judgement told me to follow up. I wrote all of this in an email and Amy Pinkston responded. She offered a gift card. It wasn't enough and I never got the gift card! The Good: They do offer free car washes each Saturday. They also BBQ links, hot dogs, and chicken when its warm. I went yesterday and brought my work with me. There was a 1.5 - 2hr wait so I ate complimentary BBQ and popcorn while enjoying their WiFi, flat screens, and calm work space that is the waiting room. Once I bought my car, have not heard a peep from anyone regarding the extra key or the friend who could get a better insurance rate. She also pulled up several customers accounts so I could see how they too had gotten great deals. So much for privacy and your private information being private. I waited a couple of days to call my finance company to ensure the pure laziness of everyone I dealt with didn't transfer over to my loan. Well they didn't use the finance company I confirmed 3 times that is who I wanted to use and was preappproved for. Even though that company was listed on all my paperwork. The finance manager told me after I left they decided to go with a different finance company because THEY the dealership gets a bigger kickback from this other company. So you the customer and your request are completely ignored. Also right before signed the final paperwork, was told my finance company (the one they didn't use) changed my interest rate a little bit because of it being a newer car. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE WAS BUYING A CAR FROM HERE. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. The sales people are snakes and the service center is full of liars. Every step of the way, I have been lied to and manipulated. I feel like some of this mistreatment is due to the fact that I am a young woman, every time one of the sales people spoke to me it was with disrespect and in a manner in which they were speaking down to me, when he spoke to my husband not the same degrading tone. The one sales woman I dealt with makes it so I will NEVER EVER in my life deal with a sales woman, she was the biggest snake there and honestly I have zero idea why this woman still has a job. Issues thus far with my 2 month old car: What the paper work stated that we signed vs the warranty information that was sent to us: was completely wrong, the mileage on the vehicle was incorrect vs what was on the paper work. Cost of the car, what they told me was not what was on the paper, due to extras. Currently seeking a lawyer to look over the paper work. Be prepared to be lied to and manipulated The service depart in the 4 times, I have take it in since we bought it in May of 2015, are rude and the time frame the deliver is never actually the time it takes easily add about 2-4 hours to over all wait time. They have little respect for their customers or your time. I also have a feeling they will over charge as soon is the car is out of warranty, they wanted $130 to detail my car, took it to Kwik Kar and it cost $50 and the shampooed my carpets. Review for SERVICE department - The staff is very friendly and patience, despite how busy they are all the time. Everyone is running around everywhere, and a simple oil change + check engine light took 90 minutes. They do a good job about customer service. Nissian provides free chauffer options to take you home and pick you up so you don't have to wait there. And the waiting room is quite nice - complimentary beverages, donuts, TV and WiFi, with a children's room to the side. Yes it is more expensive here, but as a Nissian specific place, they have most of the replacement parts onsite to get it fixed immediately. And the assumption is that they get really really good at working with Altimas like mine. However, although they it doesn't seem like they are intentionally trying to tack on unnecessary services, they sometimes do. For example, they suspected a gas leak with the check engine, and suggested a smoke test to confirm. I opted out, read on some forums that a loose gas cap was sometimes the issue, tightened it, and the light went away on my next drive. I understand the services department is just doing due diligence, but they should have known about what the internet claimed was a common occurrence. Another negative - the sales department is quite aggressive. I'm not interested in a new car, and have stepped nowhere near the sales, but the salesmen sometime hang around the services to attempt to sell, and have called twice too. Its unfortunate that the service & sales department are given a shared Yelp score... In conclusion - would only come to Nissian Services if I am somewhat sure of what the issue is and needed replacement parts immediately, and if my schedule for the day was flexible enough to go without a car. read more

I usually don't write reviews of establishments but this had to be written about my very first visit to this dealership. I took my car to the service department on Monday for some major repairs (i probably should have read reviews on yelp before going to this dealership) which should have cost roughly $2700. I'm a straight-forward person with no BS so I sat in the office with my service clerk (and even had the assistant service manager) to review what needed to be done to my car. After about 20mins of me trying to figure out if i wanted to get it all done or maybe do a few at a time, I decided to get everything done for $2700. Imagine my surprise when I go back to pick up my car and was told it would be roughly $3400. I have never been to such a shady place where you're quoted a final price but get upcharged. Needless to say, I will definitely not be a repeat customer at this dealership & would like to warn others out there about such practice at this dealership (if you're given a quote, ask for a copy of it before leaving your car). I purchased a 2017 Nissan Rogue last Saturday March 5th at Texas Nissan of Grapevine. Justin was my sales person. I was told that the rogue was never in a car accident and that there was only one previous owner. Even after they showed me the Carfax I asked again if it had a clean title and that if it was involved in an accident. I was told that i had nothing to worry because all the cars that Texas Nissan sells go though a very extensive 125 inspection points and that if there would of had found anything like that, they would of reported it or make a note about it. I was concerned about the high milage on the rogue, but after talking to one of the managers there and she telling me about all the inspections points that the dealership does to every car they sell and telling me that "you are buying a Nissan at a Nissan, we have the best Nissan experts that inspect every car we sell" which is the exact same thing Justin, the sales person told me I felt way more confortable about making my purchase. One of my friends (a mechanic and bodyshop expert) went to my house the next day to check my new car and his finds where shocking. He found that the car has involved in an accident damaging the from part of the car and one on the passenger side. The car was not even fixed properly, all they did was a cover up job enough so regular people (without expertise in car internal damage) wont notice the quick and cheap fixes they did to that car. The car end up not been safe to drive and that is the part that made me more upset. This car dealership putting my family's life in risk to to make a sale and a profit. I been trying to speak with a manager for the last two days, i called several times and they keep sending me back to the main menu over and over again. Fortunately one of the persons who answered one of my calls give me the manager's number Josh Howard (817)601-3534. I been trying to reach him, called him about 4 times in the last 5 hours but He wasn't available, I was told he is in a meeting. They took my info and told me that he was going to return my called around 11:00am. I didn't get any call so i decided to give it another try around 2:40pm. I even mentioned him about the advertised "Love It or Return It When you know you've made the wrong purchase decision, you shouldn't have to live with that choice. He told me that that option is for new cars only. After trying to read him what his website advertised he told me that the website is wrong that someone made a mistake typing that information. And also that his dealership is not Walmart or bestbuy, so i cant return or exchange anything. And that whatever his sales person or website says it doesn't matter, because once i sing the paperwork the deal is closed and that's it for me. I asked to talk to his manager or someone above him but he told me that there is no one, he is the highest manager. I asked him to give me the phone corporate's phone number and he transferred me to a receptionist and the receptionist transferred me to their dealer main menu again. I wish there as something less than "1" star for a rating. It was a 100% terrible and frustrating experience. Everything I saw and endured convinces me that either this dealership is corrupt and unethical at worst, or completely incompetent at best. Do yourself a favor and go shop elsewhere - there are lots of dealers in the Metroplex and that is exactly what I did after my negative experience. I had arranged by phone to pick up a car that was listed on the on the website for $8000 (in bold print). Although I understood that there might be minor price adjustments, we agreed on the phone for $2000 for my trade (or so) and that I would give them $6000 in cash (real cash) for the car. I had send them my VIN # and talked about the condition of my trade. It was a two-hour drive for me, but I thought it might be worth it since we worked everything out in advance. When I got there, the dealer acted like we had never made a deal and told me that I needed to come up with $9981 for the car minus only $500 for my trade. When I reminded him that not only had we already agreed on $6000 plus my trade and that the car on the website was listed for only $8000 he literally said "Oh you forgot about the "$1981 plan."" I asked him to clarify. He explained that even though the dealership advertised the car for 8000, every car has "1981" added to the price, bringing the actual price to $9981. The car was also listed on Car Gurus for $8000 with no explanation of the so-called "1981" plan. I told them that I thought this was false advertising. Then my salesman disappeared for about 45 min and came back with a different guy who just explained the same thing. I told them again that I had had a deal and that I had driven 2 hours on that "handshake." Then they both disappeared again for about 45 more minutes. I had to ask another manager where they were and that I was leaving in 5 minutes out of frustration. They then showed up one last time and basically said the same thing. I showed them their own website again that had the car for $8000 and the kbb.com print out that showed their car's value at about $6500 nationwide. They then informed me, and I quote: "value has nothing to do with what a car is worth..." What? At that point I told them I was leaving and that I could not believe they were going to let me walk out with $6000 in my pocket and a car to trade. They never even made a counter-offer or suggested a different used vehicle. So essentially they lied and tried to manipulate me for 2 hours and never even had a reasonable discussion about how we might compromise on the car's price. Brought in my car for rear brake service in Nov, 2018. Picked up car at end of day and received a $150+ charge for front brake rotor resurfacing. They offered me a credit to do the rear brakes, but wanted over $400+ after the credit for the rear brake service. Bottom line, the rear brakes were not fixed and I'm out over $150.00. read more
