If you go in the evening, just expect to wait. We waited a little over an hour, I think... kinda lost track. I got the Country Fried Chicken, tender white meat with a nice crunchy coating. Really good. The mac and cheese was creamy, and the corn was simple but hit the spot. The buns came out warm and soft, still a little steamy when I pulled them apart. Big plus for me. The food was excellent as always whenever I come to Texas Roadhouse! My favorite items to get are either the New York Strip or the rack of ribs with a side of baked potato and Caesar salad. The complimentary bread is always so soft and warm, and the butter is to die for! The service was very good when we went. The waitress was always checking up on us and making sure to see if we needed anything. The ambiance looked like you were in the wild west, so I loved the theme of it. Everything from the food, drinks, customer service, vibes of the establishment, is just amazing all around. Customer Service: The servers I've had have all been really friendly and attentive. I rarely had to ask for a refill and would automatically give me one which is awesome. One server that stood out to me at the Countryside, IL location is Genesis M. He went above and beyond and this was my family's first time ever trying Texas Roadhouse. Genesis deserves a raise immediately! We will definitely be coming back! : Food/Drinks: My go-to order is a wild strawberry lemonade as my drink , an order of rattlesnake bites (similar to jalapeño poppers), & an 8 oz steak (cooked: medium) w/ 2 sides. For both of my sides, I usually get 2 orders of loaded mashed potatoes. It cost extra to make any form of potato they serve loaded, but so worth it in my opinion. Atmosphere: I enjoy coming to Texas Roadhouse as I feel immersed and feel like I'm in Texas even though I have never been to Texas yet. They only play country music and have various decor throughout the restaurant. One of my favorite places to get dinner! I'm so glad I live 15 minutes from it. It's got a whole kitchsy vibe very Route 66 country. I dig it! They also give you a free bag peanuts. Very good snack! We always get some sort of steak or burger. It really hits the spot! They have cooked my meat to the right temp every time. We are big fans of their country gravy and brown gravy. I opted for a boneless pork chop accompanied by a peppercorn gravy. The mashed potatoes, also with gravy on the side, perfectly satisfied my craving. The gravy, in particular, was quite good. The fried pickles were a pleasant surprise, as I am typically particular about pickles. However, these were undeniably enjoyable, boasting a satisfying crunch and excellent seasoning. I appreciate their decision to discontinue the practice of throwing peanuts on the floor, a positive change regarding hygiene, in my eyes. The complimentary peanuts remain a welcome addition. However, their fried pickles are a must-try - and I reiterate this point intentionally; they are truly exceptional. In all honesty, I believe you would enjoy dining here. I am surprised that the reviews aren't better, I get takeout once a month from The Roadhouse. Food is cooked fast and you get really decent food at massive quantities so you can get another meal out of it. Chicken critters are the most juicy strips I've had and they have the best dipping sauces. Pork chops are excellent and the sides are all so good. The salads and mashed potatoes are heavenly. They give you massive amounts of rolls and butter and have you check your food before you leave to make sure the order is correct. I am happy to have them so close. read more

Went with hubby to Texas Roadhouse for a super early (borderline senior-hour) dinner. We were seated immediately and soft, fresh bread, apps and water were all brought out quickly. The Grilled Shrimp appetizer was okay. My husband ordered the Ribeye Steak and Loaded Baked Potato, and I ordered the Grilled Salmon with Rice and Green Beans. Sadly the steak was undercooked, it was requested as medium rare and brought out rare (luckily he eats it that way too sometimes). Opposingly, everything on my plate was overcooked... the green beans were literally mush, the rice was barely better, and the salmon was firm not flaky. Neither one of us sent the food back, although in hindsight we should have. We also didn't like that condiments were served in plastic to-go containers on the plate... just a presentation thing, but still a thing. The service itself was lacklustre (the friendliness factor wasn't top notch, and a great server would have led to 3-stars but whatever)... but the bottle of wine we ordered kept us pleasant about everything! By the time we left around 6:00pm there was a lineup, so the earlier you can set your dinner plans, the better. I got a gc for this place so we figured we would check it out. It was about a 30 minute drive. When we got there the place was packed. They said there was a 30 minute wait time. Which was about right by time we were seated. And we were seated. We were served fresh warm right away. With their sent cinnamony butter. Be prepared, they are $16 but delicious and served with cut wedges of lime, lemon and orange, We opted for the 10 oz house Margs for our 2nd cocktail. Did the Cactus Blossom app which arrived at the table very quickly and was hot and tasty and not greasy at all. The dipping sauce does have a little bit of kick to it, but was just a hint. Entrees were the 16oz and special cut 20oz Fort Worth Ribeyes. Both were cooked to perfection and exceptionally tender. Our server was attentive and very personable. Now some issues that Management needs to address........ I used the restroom and there were 2 team members, that I believe were front door hostesses in there. 1 standing behind the door and as I opened it, she pushed it closed on me - um OK - don't stand there. As I went to wash my hands, they were both standing in front of the sinks and texting on their phones. I waited a few seconds, they did not move and I had to loudly say "excuse me". No apology from either, no acknowledgement, just an expression of someone that looked put out they were asked to move. Staff should not be taking breaks in a customer rest room that is not that big to begin with! The exhaust fan vent cover was caked in filth and the holes in the grate were barely even visible anymore. Our waiter Robbie was extremely nice and great. Do not order sprite here it was just bubbles with no flavor, we got it taken off the bill which was amazing (thanks to Robbie). I finally was able to enter the doors of Texas Roadhouse without a long line. I heard so much buzz about the food and service. We were immediately seated and a server came over to take our drink orders. The sweet roll with the maple butter was so good. It was busy on a Friday night but the wait for a table was quick. I ordered a half slab of ribs which came with 2 sides (rice and mashed potato). I was stunned the half slab of ribs were huge. The food was delicious. Our server was very attentive. She made sure everything was perfect on our visit. We had no issues with order or drinks. I was amazed how good the food really was here. So after 4 different people walking to the front check in counter I finally say I'm doing great and my table is ready per the text thanks for asking to get service. The food is usually warm not hot and this time was no different.... My chilli wasn't hot, my spicy jalapeno bites were hot, the complimentary bread we had to ask for but it was hot and delicious. The waiter was very pleasant and attentive. My food a ribeye cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. The sweet potato was excellent. Can't go wrong with beer but some drinks taste like juice. Dislike: greeting customer service yet everyone is wearing I love my job t shirts, lack of consistency with food temps, and the fact that I watched what appeared to be a manager pick up a to go tray from the ground after 2 staff walked right passed it and gave it to a customer. 7/3/25 had dinner at Texas Roadhouse Countryside, IL. I ordered a dinner that I love and have had 3 times prior. It was the Steak skewer meal. Which comes with seasoned rice, steak on skewers with red peppers, white onions and mushrooms, plus one side. This time my meal was the worst ever. The steak and veggies are usually marinated in Teriyaki before grilling. This time teriyaki flavor was missing. The rice was mushy instead of firm and it was extremely salty. Three or four pieces of the steal was rare and pink. I requested it cooked well done. I was not happy with my meal. I've never sent a plate back at any restaurant. However, when a young lady came around asking how was my meal? I told her just what I said above. It was terrible etc. Then she casually strolled off. Steph the manager is the rudest person. she was absolutely so awful and we will never return. group of 14, 7 little kids that are squirly, one woman who can't move well and needs more room, and made us all sit in two booths. refused to let us sit 4 people in a third to give the group a little more space to eat and sit. multiple sections including our side of the restaurant containing 12 booths were all empty and she repeatedly forced us to move out of a "third" booth. I will absolutely be contacting corporate. and we will never return. especially considering our bill for 14 people will be more than significant to justify a third booth.
