I am an enjoyer of the finer things in life, but every once in a while I must return to the basics. Texas Roadhouse in Cranston, RI was hardly basic in my most recent visit. I just walked back in the door of my hotel and I ran to yelp to leave my review. Our server, Sade, was not only extremely charismatic, thoughtful and quick, but just a genuinely great server. Our food was quick and delicious. The environment was so family friendly. All the servers were laughing with eachother and having a great time. This review is overdue. Typical Texas Roadhouse. You pick your steaks , unlimited amounts of their good bread and all day special priced drinks. At this particular location they no longer do the $5 long island iced tea although it's still on their menu. The restaurant is a big size with lots of seating. When we arrived it was not crowded, and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and kind . The waitress made sure my party and I, were well taken care of. The reason for 3 stars . I go to Texas Roadhouse pretty often. It's conveniently located off the highway toward stop and shop/Lowes plaza on Garfield Ave. The food is always a hit and if you didn't know about their buns, you must try! I got rattlesnakes bites as an app and steak that comes with two sides. The price and service were really good. They def have a southern restaurant vibe. I would just say be cautious if you have anyone in your party with a peanut allergy because they usually have peanuts all over. read more

The salad was good except the Italian dressing has more of a honey taste. The mashed potatoes not my favorite real bland but the prime rib was very tender and flavorful. Sitting at the bar waiting for our table and the bartender Jasmine was very friendly and courteous. She made sure we had everything we needed while waiting to be texted. Texas Roadhouse serves American cuisine such as hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone-ribs, chicken, salads, burgers, and sandwiches. There are 3 locations in RI: Cranston, North Smithfield, and Warwick. I've been to the location in Warwick, but this was my first time at Texas Roadhouse in Cranston. On Monday-Friday, they open at 3:00PM and on Saturday and Sunday, they open at 12:00PM. I arrived on a Friday around 3:10PM. There is a big parking lot. Even though it just opened, many tables were occupied already. The hostess seated us and put a basket of the fresh-baked rolls with honey cinnamon butter on the table. Jarred, our server, introduced himself and asked if we've been to Texas Roadhouse before. We said yes, but we've been to another location and we love the rolls. He said he'll keep it coming. The menu has many options. The Texas Size Combos are a great way to try two items at the same time. There is a Grilled BBQ Chicken & ribs or sirloin combo, Chicken Critters (chicken tenders) & ribs or sirloin combo, Sirloin & ribs or grilled shrimp combo, Ribeye & ribs or grilled shrimp combo, and a Filet & ribs or grilled shrimp combo. There are many options for the sides as well. The fresh-baked rolls are always warm, buttery, and so soft. I ordered a Peach Sweet Tea ($3.69) which has unlimited refills. My husband and I shared the basket of golden-fried pickle chips served with cajun horseradish sauce ($7.99). The pickle chips were crispy and had good breading. The cajun horseradish sauce was very good and has a little kick but it is not overpowering. For entree, I had the 6oz Sirloin and Grilled Shrimp ($21.99) which comes with 2 sides. I chose medium (hot pink center) for the temperature and for my sides: Buttered Corn and Mashed Potatoes. There are options to smother your steak with sautéed mushrooms and onions and load the mashed potatoes with butter, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and bacon for an extra fee. I didn't choose to add those on because I don't think it needs it. The sirloin was cooked exactly as described and you can see the pink center. The shrimp was seasoned, grilled, and drizzled with garlic lemon pepper butter. The shrimp was crispy and had very good flavor. The mashed potatoes had some pieces of potato skin and the corn were very good. The portions are generous, substantial, filling, satisfying, and we packed our leftovers. Jarred was very friendly and attentive. Vanessa, the Manager, and Jarred checked in to see how we were doing. We used a 20% off coupon that we received at RI Comic Con last year. At each table, there is a tablet to allow guests to pay their bills directly at their table without waiting for the server to process the credit card. We used it to view the bill, add tips, and pay. Steaks are always cooked perfectly, Staff are always so friendly and accommodating. The manager came by and asked how was everything going and when we explained a missing item she immediately brought it to us and apologized for any inconvenience. Their system has you wait until you're texted to pick up your food from the window so it shouldn't be cold unless it was sitting around. This location never has enough staff to open up more tables, so you could never just go and wait the usual 10 min for a table you wait 25-40 minutes. So if you plan on going to this location make sure you add yourself to the waitlist at-least an hour before you drive there. First time at the Texas Roadhouse in Cranston. It was busy on a Sat evening. We called before and were placed on the waitlist, but didn't get a message afterward. We showed up around 5:30 pm and luckily got seated pretty quickly. The hot rolls with the butter were warm, soft and delicious. For appetizers, we got the fried pickles and the ribs. Both were delicious. For the main course, I got the hand-cut 16oz sirloin with mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. We got mashed potatoes and green beans for sides, though the green beans were too salty and mushy. Overall, it was a very good experience. I had dinner at the bar and 4 different people repeatedly kept coming up to me, checking in on me, or trying to upsell me on some promotion or dessert or whatever. The two bartenders, okay, I get that. But then the manager I think, and I don't know who else maybe I met the regional manager at one point? Lovely people. Place was pretty below average for a chain restaurant. Service was good and we got seated within minutes even with a line on a busy Sunday. The chicken critters were good, the 8 oz sirloin was barely acceptable, cooked well but unseasoned and tasteless. The Sides were honestly garbage. The Mac and cheese had no cream or cheese in it at all and wasn't worth eating. Same thing can be said about the loaded baked potato and mashed potatoes, just genuinely bland and made without effort even for a chain. The fries were good and seasoned. This last meal at the Texas Roadhouse was very good. The 8oz sirloin steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. The seasoned rice was nicely done and the broccoli had a bit of a crunch, just as I like it. The side of ribs was not as tender as I remember, but still, it was flavorful and tasty. I sat near the bar, so Jay the bartender was my waiter. He was very attentive, pleasant and friendly. Nice guy. All menu items have calorie information, so you can determine how many calories you are consuming. Overall a great place for a steak without having to pay exorbitant prices. Tonight I went to this texas road house with my sister. And our server was Jefferey , he was the absolute nicest and best server I've had at any restaurant in a long time ! He was very accommodating, very friendly. He didn't over power us with coming over 40 times to ask us if we needed anything but he did it enough that it balanced out ! Went during Covid with my husband. The only reason I give this location 3 stars is because the service is ALWAYS excellent! The kitchen is where they are lacking. I ordered steak tips and ask for them well done, they came out close to medium. I didn't send it back because I was ready to go, I didn't make a big deal about it because I'm not that person. The manager took it off the bill without me asking or even bringing it up, my plate was full of food so clearly I didn't enjoy the meal. Again, the service is excellent. Server Alex took over 10 minutes to great us, chili didn't come out with onions after I asked for it to the chili was also room temperature not hot at all. Asked Alex for A1 sauce when the chili arrived never received it until we asked the manager at her check in which wasn't until 10 minutes after our food arrived. The food runner also cut me off when asking for A1 sauce and told me my server would be right over which he never was, I had to pay on the tablet couldn't even get a box for my sons food because our server never came back. Only time our server was at our table was to take our order and bring a refill on drinks when the chili arrived never checked on our entrees, if we needed boxes, or even dessert never mind the check. read more

We have been to most all of the steakhouses chains and Texas Roadhouse is consistently among the best. As a filet and mash potato guy my take is always based on that and TRH always puts a decent cut on the table. My co reviewer had the sirloin with the baked potatoe and said it was very good. Our server was very pleasant, got the order correct, and checked on us about a dozen times during our meal. The mixed drinks (long Island ice teas) had way too much ice in the 1st one but was corrected for the second. We will be back but will double check the online list (reservations) as they had no record of us when we got there. read more

One star less for long waits for food, one less for raw rolls and dirty silverware. But the food is so good. I had bbq chicken, caesar salad and sweet potato with brown sugar. The drinks are really big. I visited with friends from work. I hadn't visited in over 8 years. My son has peanut allergies so dining here with family is a no no. I'm glad there aren't peanuts all over the floor anymore I went once 8 years ago after his allergy diagnosis and had to clean my shoes before coming inside. It wasn't worth the risk to go. I hadn't been here in a while so I was craving steak so we stopped by here on a Tuesday evening. My son got the kids steak tips & mac and cheese. I got the 6oz filet with loaded mashed and my sons father got the filet medallions. Everything was excellent and our server was even more excellent! She was super friendly and efficient. It's a little different now with COVID-19 going on but the restaurant appears to be handling it well. My Favorite Chain Restaurant It hard for me to review a chain restaurant, because I am so adamantly against eating at them, but I am a fan of this one. Every time I go I have a pretty good steak usually under 20 bucks and you can add a side of delicious ribs for 7 more bucks. Tip: Great order, 16oz ribeye steak with a side of ribs and you can get 2 house salads for sides (weirdly one of my favorite salads), 27 bucks and you can split this between 2 people. They also give you free rolls to start your meal. You'll be full. They also have a 3 dollar 22oz beer special everyday.
