My husband and I visited TR again lastnite (Saturday) with another couple. During our last visit, we were told about callahead from a manager who stopped by our table. We used their call-seating tonight and oh was it worth it! We were seated within a few minutes of arriving and the place was PACKED. After reading other feedback, I agree that mistakes happen and either will "make or break" your dinner. I ordered the filet and it was a little under cooked, our server (I think her name was Anna) came over to check on us & offered to have it cooked just a little more. Within minutes, the manager came over with my steak (perfect!), apologized for the inconvenience and thanked me for being patient. So maybe yes mistakes happen, but I can tell you the sincerity and sense of care goes a long way and you will not get that at any other chain. Still very happy :) read more

I always sit at the bar with my boyfriend when I come here. The bartenders are friendly, personable, and make amazing drinks! This was my 3rd trip to a Texas Roadhouse chain restaurant, and the first two were very good. We were seated right away. The country music is way too loud for conversation, but I can get by with that distraction. After we all placed our orders, the waitress returned 20 minutes later, and said they gave my 20 oz. Sirloin to another customer by mistake. I was very hungry when I arrived, and now I had to wait longer, not good. About 15 minutes later, a different worker brought me my steak, and said it was a 16 oz. steak, but I had told him I ordered a 20 oz., and before I had a chance to check it out, he ran away with it. A few minutes later, the manager arrives, and is looking for my steak, and I told her another employee took off with my steak. A few more minutes later the manager returns with the same steak, and apologizes for all the confusion. She asked me to cut it to make sure its done the way I ordered it ( medium rare) Wrong. It was one of the rarest steaks I have ever seen. If they gave my 20 oz. steak away the first time thinking it was the popular 16 oz. on the menu, then they probably cooked my 20 oz. the same time it takes to cook a 16 oz. Yikes. I sent it back. Now this steak of mine has been carried around the entire Northeast, and still not ready to eat. Meanwhile, another customer is enjoying my 20 oz steak that he will only be charged for a 16 oz.. I remained calm, cause I was with my kids ,and it happen to be "Father's Day" Now our original waitress returns 10 minutes later with the familiar looking steak that keeps showing up, but disappears like a magic trick. I cut it Again, and it was finally cooked right. I met half the staff bringing back the same steak, that had more mileage on it then a 86 Toyota. The manager didn't offer any discount, gift card, or anything to make up for this awful display of restaurant serving. Now I see why the place is covered in peanut shells. This place was like a circus, and my runaway steak was being transported around all afternoon by a bunch of clowns. I will go to locations in R.I. , and try others, but this Danvers TRH will never get my business again. read more

Howdy Pahdnah! My sister's are both big fans of this place. I have to admit I am a fan of their soft rolls with the cinammon butter. Hmm, it is so tasty. I was very excited when I saw the construction of this place down the street from the home. I thought to myself, now there will be a great place for a pint and charred steak! I can tell one thing this place will be busy for sometime so if you decided to check it out expect a wait. Well, the food was good. I had a steak with a baked sweet potato. Which was good and next time remind me to tell them to put the cinammon butter on it instead. The staff was a little green. I had an issue with the beer and the chilled glass which turn my beer into a slush. The bar tender said she would get me another one. I thought she meant another beer since I poured most of it into the glass. She poured out the beer and gave me a new glass she ran under some warm water. I was shocked. I mean what did that poor beer do to deserve such a fate? It should have been given a nice home in the belly with the sweet potato. I get very upset about beer abuse! Two words: Never again. Went here on a Thursday night. The place was nearly empty. Had to send the rolls back -- yes, the famous, signature rolls -- because they were FROZEN inside. Remainder of the food was inedible. My ribs had a rather unappetizing layer of fat on top of them. My friend thought the french fries tasted like fish. Been here 4-5 times. Not sure why. I guess it's convenient and there just isn't a whole lot else in the area. I always say I don't have to go back. The last time (and I think it will be the last time) I met up with a college friend here for drinks. It is loud but the real problem is the food is too salty. Now, I'm not one to usually complain about or even notice something like that, but I honestly couldn't eat my burger. It was as if they had over salted it in the kitchen. And forget the fries. This was our second time here, the first time we went in the evening, and found it too loud and the waitress was horrible. But we were in the area yesterday and decided to give it another try for lunch. Upon entering we weren't greeted by the gloomy staff, had to interrupt their conversation to be seated. The young girl who led us to our table plopped the bread down and went on her way. No eye contact, no smile, no enjoy your meal. She was pretty cranky. So I was thinking this isn't going to be a very good experience at all! But, our waiter Andrew changed the sour vibe immediately. He was so genuinely nice and cheerful! I ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes and green beans. The prime rib had a barbecue like flavor, but it was good albeit different. The mashed potatoes were out of this world!!!!!!! Green beans were cooked southern style all mushy with disgusting onions and bacon, so gross!! I lived in Texas and never had veggies cooked this way there, it's more like the south east style, but whatever it's only beans. My husband ordered the rib eye and he was very happy with it. He had a Caesar salad which was so bland, and steak fries that were run of the mill. It was an ok meal. Unfortunately this place could be inconsistent and it depends on the mood of the server. My last experience I could have done without. I came in because of a birthday coupon and I came in on the day of my birthday to celebrate with my son as its only the two of us now since my divorce. I decided to treat my son on my birthday. The server seems to be in a mad hurry for the entire afternoon and its not like they were that particularly busy. I mentioned to her that I had a birthday coupon that I wanted to use and that we would get an order of wings with that. Of course she didn't think it was necessary to wish me a happy birthday but thats ok, but it would have been nice. We got our order which was fine except after our order arrived I was only then told that I have to order an entree to get the free ribs. It does not say that anywhere on the coupon but I then told her that I would have ordered an entree if that was the case but I wasn't told before hand. She said she would get it waived by the manager and she did except the ribs were $9.99 and the wings were $8.99 so even though the coupon said "free ribs on your birthday" I got charged for the ribs and the wings were taken off the bill. Ok so its $1 but my complaint was the manner in which this was all done. I felt like I was a burden to dine at this place. I wasn't made to feel welcomed. Plus the server seemed to always leave the table before I could even finish my sentence. I have been here several times before and its always hit or miss like this. I was never a huge fan until I started sitting at the bar for service. Sitting at the bar, almost always get a seat no problem, no waiting. The bartenders are extremely attentive, never miss or mess up an order and are very friendly. It's actually less noisy in the bar as opposed to the dining room with all the singing and line dancing, kids screaming, babies crying. If you are a regular your drink will be there before you can get your coat off and are refilled automatically :-). The noise in the dining room is sort of buffered but maybe that has to do with the drinks, plenty of TV's to view sports, etc. Food comes up so quick at the bar, we always have to ask our bartender to wait before putting in the order. There has only been 1 or 2x that a steak was cooked more than we liked, it was dealt with pleasantly and a new steak promptly appears. Another time my husband thought the cut he received was not what he ordered, it was replaced and removed from the bill. We've tried almost everything on the menu and find it to be freshly prepared and very tasty. Maybe not best for your calorie intake overall, but no complaints here! Overall you can eat here on the cheap. Fill up on peanuts, then chow down on some cinnamon buttered rolls, order before 6pm and they have very cheap meal options (9.99 menu) to choose from. They often have 19.99 for 2 meal deals that come with multiple sides. read more

If you want some good food for a reasonable price, come on down to Texas Roadhouse It's loud, it's covered in peanut shells, the wait staff do silly dances every 15-20 minutes... but the food is always good. I would have given them a solid 4 stars except for one MAJOR problem with the food: When I order a burger from a place called TEXAS ROADHOUSE... I expect to be served a BIG HONKING BURGER... especially considering the price. The first time I went here, I got the catfish. There's only two places I know around here that sell catfish. Here and Border Cafe. So my first meal was great. Last time I went I figured, "Hey, I'll try one of their burgers!" I must say, the size of the patty was laughable. a frozen bubba burger is bigger than this. While it was genuinely tasty, the meat was simply lost in the bun and toppings. This burger would benefit from a few extra centimeters of thickness.. The chili is good, but the waitress forgot my fries. I expected she thought I wanted chili instead of fries and simply figured "I'm better off without the fries anyway" I was charged for the chili... Free refills on the drink are always welcome, but they are a little heavy on the ice... and by heavy on the ice, I mean they fill the cup to the brim full of ice and put about an ounce of soda in it... I had to get about 3-4 refills which always makes me feel like a tub of lard. Our 15 month old son seemed to have a good time, but the day we went seemed to be 'waitress drop-a-thon' because we saw THREE drops (including a full frozen margarita). Whats not to love about the Texas Road House? I haven't found anything yet. We live practically across the street from this one. We have been here more times than I can count and have always had consistent exceptional service. One of my favorites is the prime rib, always perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly to order. The only down side is it isn't a place to have a romantic or even quiet dinner, so as long as your ok with that you'll love it here. read more

Very overly-process food. It tastes ok, but you can tell it came prepackaged and frozen. Most of the food is very salty, and although it is enjoyable, we left feeling very bloated and lethargic. This holds true for their salads. I have not tried their steaks but their chicken fingers are strange--I think they use a beer batter but it's very thick and dense. Not what you would expect. After a few bites, the chicken fingers were too much to swallow and I felt a bit sick. I'd go elsewhere than another chain restaurant. My granddaughter and I had lunch today at the Texas Roadhouse in Danvers, Ma. We've both eaten there before without a problem so we were very surprised with this visit. We ordered our drinks and a cactus bloom. It was quite a while before we got our appetizer and is was almost burned when it finally arrived. Okay, we ate it anyway. We both ordered - a bacon cheeseburger and a cheeseburger - both medium. After another long wait, our lunch came out - each with just a handful of fries. When I cut into my burger, it was definitely more medium rare - my granddaughter's burger was even rarer than mine. We were going to send them back but we'd already been there so long that we each ate less than half of out burgers then took the rest home. Neither one of us have felt well since then - upset stomachs and nausea. I've eaten at that Texas Roadhouse very often and have never had a problem with their food. I want to preface my review by saying that my four star rating is based on an apples to apples comparison against other large, family-themed chain restaurants. That being said, Texas Roadhouse stacks up very well against the competion. Tonight was our second visit and both have been very positive experiences. As stated in previous reviews, the atmosphere is extremely casual, which plays nicely into the whole kid-friendly theme. As for the food, regardless of what you order, every meal is going to begin on a high note thanks to the piping hot bread and cinnamon butter that is brought to the table by the hostess as you are seated. Tonight my wife and I both ordered barbecue. She ordered the ribs with a baked sweet potato and broccoli and I ordered a rib/pulled pork combo with a baked sweet potato and garden salad. All of the side dishes were very fresh and well prepared. My wife's ribs were very good. They were tender, juicy, and flavorful. While my ribs and pulled pork both tasted fine, they were also both fairly dry, which definitely detracted from the overall meal. I think gong forward I will stick with the steaks. Speaking of the steaks, there are many fine choices on the menu, but you are also given the option of hand selecting your own steak from the meat case as you are being seated. The steaks in the case are all more expensive than the steaks on the menu, but they are larger and appeared to be beautifully marbled. The margaritas were large, reasonbly priced, and delicious. I believe the kids meals were $5.50 and our daughter ended up taking half of her's home, so there is a definite bang for your buck factor. One more point that is worth mentioning......if you are going on a weekend night, be sure to take advantage of the call-ahead seating. We called ahead and were given a time to show up at the restaurant. We did a couple of errands, showed up five minutes before our designated time, and we were seated at the next available table. Overall, Texas Roadhouse is a fun place with a friendly staff and above average food. We'll certainly be back for more! read more

Went here last night the food was very good. They start you off with warm buns and cinnamon flavored butter. They are really good. I got a burger with bbq sauce and onions and a side of sweet potato loaded with marshmallow. It was really good. The alcohol there is pretty good as well but beware that some of the cup sizes are a rip off. So try and aim for the big cup. Also if you're allergic to peanuts this is not the place for you. There are peanuts all over the floor and in big tubs all over the place as well as on your table. read more

I don't understand all the low ratings - this is a chain restaurant so if you're looking for quiet, elegant atmosphere I'd suggest Capital Grill or Smith & Wollensky. If you're looking for a low key, everyday place, here it is. If you have a peanut allergy - there are huge signs before walking into the place but they do take food allergies very seriously. I should know - I have severe food allergies (shellfish & Treenuts) and if I felt it wasn't a concern to them I wouldn't have stayed the first time much less come back 4+ more times. My husband & I have been here several times and the food has been very good every single time. I don't mind the servers asking if I want another drink or appetizer (it's their job). We usually don't get appetizers because there is a bucket of peanuts on the table and the rolls with that butter is so good. Oh and speaking of the nuts - they're still shelled not salted (as another reviewer commented on) so it's not a scam to get you to buy more drinks besides which water is free. read more

We've been many times. Sometimes there is a wait so we usually call ahead. The staff has always been nice to us. The manager is always roaming around introducing herself and asking how everything is so far. It they cook your steak wrong they make good of it, which isn't often at all. The prices are very reasonable. I gave them only a 4 star because occasionally I've gotten a salad with lettuce that has "turned" (reddish color) and the rolls are overcooked. If you have a peanut allergy, do not even walk in. They let you eat peanuts from a large wine barrel and throw the shells on the floor. You can pick out your own steak if you want. Warm homemade rolls are served warm with whipped cinnamon butter and their steak is seasoned. There is ample parking. read more

I could tell it was wrong without even looking at it because it was super fleshy when I touched it with the knife and fork. Whoever is back there tonight doesn't know how to cook a steak. I am giving three stars because of the amazing rolls and butter they give out for free. Everything else was nothing special. The customer service was pretty good but they did forget my drink (ordered take out). I wanted prime rib and they ran out. I ordered a steak instead and it was decent. However, I could have made the same one at home. Probably won't be going back. I could go to another chain restaurant with better food. Will miss those rolls though. read more

Wish my perspective remained just my take-out experience. Ever time I come in, the restaurant is hopping with activity and energy. So we take my 85 mother-in-law out with her walker for a great Texas Roadhouse lunch experience. We call ahead and ask for a table not far from check-in. Sure no problem... (They place us in the back???). Positives: Cold mug beers, Handicap Parking right at the front door, fried pickles appetizer, bucket of free peanuts, ribs, and great bread. Negatives: Server could not understand that customers can't run out of something to drink (Where would he go for long lengths of time... Is he also cooking?), silverware dirty (I'll get you some clean knives... so matter of fact), men's bathroom (It is 12:30p... only open for one hour... How can the men's restroom already be a tornado), green bean side dish (pass). The young manager went to every table and asking if everything was ok. We hadn't been to Texas Roadhouse in a while, and figured we'd stop in. Even though it was very busy (as it usually is) we were seated right away. I usually get a margarita here, but since the last time I got one I was VERY disappointed because they put ZERO tequila in it and I paid extra for the good stuff, I decided to get a Tex-presso instead. The drink is a combination of Kahlua and Bailey's Irish Cream and they gave me doubles. I could definitely feel it by the time we left, that's for sure. I guess they decided to make up for last time. The waitress was very nice and fast (maybe too fast for us, because we couldn't decide what we wanted!). We started out with rolls with cinnamon butter which were hot and delicious. We had to order extra because my youngest gobbled up 3 of the 4 rolls we were given! I ordered the country fried chicken with seasoned rice and corn. The portion of chicken I was given was huge, the chicken was really juicy and the breading had the perfect amount of spices in it. The seasoned rice was really good, maybe a tad too salty for my taste, but still excellent. And the corn tasted fresh and was super buttery, which I like. My husband had the full rack of ribs, which I had a few of, and they are not lying when they say they fall off the bone. I barely had to chew the meat it was so tender! My oldest had the pulled pork dinner, which she really liked, and my youngest had the mac & cheese, which she polished off. I wish the place wasn't quite so loud, but I guess it's part of the atmosphere. Also, it's not a good place for someone who's allergic to peanuts, since there's about 5 billion of them inside, scattered everywhere. They'd probably die instantly even if they were standing 100 feet from the entrance. Not a good place for babies & young children either. I took my oldest when she was very young and she was scared to death! But I think older kids will like the rowdy atmosphere. When we were there, there were a lot of pre-teens hanging around. It's not good for neat freaks either, since you're allowed (if not exactly encouraged) to make a huge mess. But if you know what you're getting yourself into, it can be a good night out, and the food more than makes up for the other things that some people might not like. read more
