After having a lot of artisanal pizza lately, all I wanted was a no-frills, good old New England pizza shop cheese pie. Still getting a feel for spots that deliver after a move, and had never tried this place before. Pizza was awesome! This place is such a throwback! I grew up in Beverly and moved away when I was in college. When I was a kid we used to come here a lot for the chicken kabob salads. My brother and I came through here earlier this week when I was in town because I was craving one of their chicken kabob salads - I didn't realize until I left the area that this is such a north shore thing. They serve fresh pita bread with it and the salad is loaded with marinated chicken full of flavor. Love the creamy Greek dressing that comes with it. My brother had the steak tip salad that came with a generous amount of meat as well and the prices are super reasonable. The man who runs the place is so sweet and friendly. My brother and I are retired. Have been ordering via DoorDash from this place for over a year. We order at least twice a week and order the same thing two chicken kabob salads and an order of onion rings. The order was delivered missing one salad. This is where things went downhill. The man that answered the call was rude. He acknowledged that I ordered frequently and was familiar with my address. He said my problem was with DoorDash and I told him that my DoorDash was confirmed and was correct. He continued to spin me around verbally and refused to help me. Used to love their salads, but had a horrible experience with their Customer Service this past weekend. They would not answer their phone on a Saturday, so I had to place an order through GrubHub. When I arrived, they did not put Feta/Onion on the Chicken Kabob salads (I assumed this came on it). When I asked if I could have this added, he pointed to the receipt and said he would only make what I ordered. He did not have any interest in resolving the issue. Really bad service here. We called in a simple 2-pizza order at 5:30. We thought it was odd how quickly they got off the phone and never took his name. When we arrived about 20 minutes later, the pizza wasn't ready. It wasn't ready for another 20 minutes - as if they put it in the oven when we arrived. It's not like they were busy - no one was waiting and there was one couple in the dining room. When I had words with the guys behind the counter - what's up with the slow service - all the guy could say was "hey give me a break, it's hot back here". The pizzas were less than average - hardly any bacon on the bacon pizza. Also they had no issue charging full price and weren't sorry for the wait. LOVE North Beverly. It's our go-to take out place when we're not feeling like cooking. I'd say we order from here once a month. Like others have said, the chicken kabob salads, homemade pita, and thick creamy house dressing are the best. Their calzones are also very tasty because they're made from the same dough as the pita. We've always had friendly service. The men there work really hard and never seem to take days off. I found myself talking about NB Roast Beef & Seafood today, nowhere near Beverly, for the seemingly hundreth time. I will preface this review by saying that I have never had the Roast Beef, or the Seafood. In fact I have never had anything at North Beverly Roast Beef & Seafood other than the Chicken Kabob Salad (my preference, Buffalo Chicken, no feta yes onion with blue cheese). This is, and I am not exaggerating, the best Buffalo Chicken Salad I have ever had. I found this spot when I worked in Beverly over a decade ago (2008-2011), and I will drive 30+ minutes out of the way when on the North Shore to come here. I buy two chicken kabob salads and eat them throughout the week for lunch. I do not know what makes their chicken so good, but it is outstanding. And the Pita Bread is second to none. Put that together with some fine veggies and you have something that is worth coming back for over and over again. This is one of my favorite meals on the planet and I encourage everyone. After waiting over 30 minutes as well as waiting a little before heading to pick up my order. I had order a 2 steak and guacamole rap and a few other item. Upon arriving and waiting there was some confusing between the two people work on whether the cook put not lettuce on it. After apologizing and going to fix it they only picked out some lettuce and left the rest in the wrap. My wife is pregnant and she wants steak tip salad..... So we go here twice a week. We get 2 steak tip salads, small fries, and a soda. All for 20 dollas. My wife eats the salad with their famous dressing. I eat the steak tips....and fries. Best fries. I love how it's crispy. They got rid of their free fountain soda. The formica seats leave much to desire, but food never fails to satisfy. They would get four stars from me if they brought back the free soda and better furniture. Guys are very nice. One salad can easily be shared by 2 people but if you do, make sure to get an extra pita!! The meats are marinated and cooked well. The vegetables are just whatever. Nothing fancy or organic here - it's mostly iceberg lettuce with a slice of tomato, cucumber, green pepper rings, onions, 2 olives and 1 pepperoncini. It may not be where I want a beef, and definitely not sea food, but oh my goodness do they know where way around buffalo chicken. I had a delicious buffalo salad which has to be hands down one of the best salads of my life. I also got to stuff it in a pita bread which makes it even more exciting. The only tip I have is if your getting a salad make sure to get two pita's so you can make too sandwiches. My friend got a buffalo chicken calzone. It looked like a calzone had died and gone to heaven, there was cheese and buffalo goodness everywhere. Absolutely incredible. I haven't had anything else on the menu, but I give it 5 stars for how incredible their buffalo chicken is. The salad is super fresh and crunchy with a great mix of veggies in it. The chicken is always cooked perfectly and has amazing texture and flavor. I've been meaning to write a review about this place, as I order from here pretty regularly. The good... It's been said before, but they have the best chicken kabob salad around, as well as the best pita bread (well, it's not really pita bread, but it is supposed to be along the same lines). Walk-in service is quick and friendly. Prices are generally better than the competition. And now the bad... Normally, I wouldn't have any complaints about this place. I love it, always have good food, and the delivery is always very fast and friendly. However, last night I got home and after spending nine hours in the car, I didn't want to go pick it up, so I called the order in. Two pizza rolls, one chicken kabob salad with extra feta, and a 2-liter bottle of soda. What kills me is that they never tell you how much it will be and the time is always "about 40 mins". Usually 'about 40 minutes' translates into 10-15 from where I live. 40 mins go by, no food. No biggie, I give them the benefit of the doubt and then 50 mins go by, no food. No call, either. They have my callback number, I'm easy going and understanding. If they guy was running late or they were busy, I'm not going to be upset. So I decide to give a quick call. I am quickly brushed off "The guy is on his way" and they hang up. I was going to offer to come pick it up instead, but they hung up on me. 60 minutes go by. Nothing. 75 minutes go by and the guy shows up. He rang the doorbell once and in the 10 seconds I took to get to the door he was already heading back to his car to leave. He comes up, no apology for the lateness, I give him the money and he stands there and waits for a tip. Really? The pizza rolls were cold, the salad was warm and soggy, while the chicken was cold and tough. At least the soda was still cold. I've never had a bad experience here, but they know our address and know we order a lot. A quick "Sorry, it's been a busy night, I apologize for not getting here sooner" would go a long way. Homeade Pita Bread for the win!! I'll dip it in their house dressing (which is delicious; a good Greek dressing) & be completely sated. mmmm.... Their chicken kabob salad, buffalo chicken salad, and steak tip salad are also superb. Like everyone else says, don't forget to ask for your free soda. My favorite thing to order though(other than the pita bread), is the Chicken, Tomato, Garlic Calzone. Delicious dipped in the dressing, although they'll serve it with tomato sauce if you don't specify. Honestly I've never tried the roast beef (Nick's is right a cross the street!!), but it's a solid choice for salads & calzones. I ordered here for the first time tonight and was excited to try there food. Well it took an hour and ten minutes to get our food. We live so close there was no need to wait that long. And when it finally got here it was so cold!!! I ordered a chesse burger no cheese was on it and it was do cold. I threw it out right away. I called and i was told that there are alot of deliveries before me? How is that a good reason to give some cold food and wait an hour. So make us wait and get hungry and then give me cold as ice food. Never had a place give us cold food like that. The time was a long wait especially being right on Cabot st. But to have the food so cold and not give me chesse on top of it. Thought trying a new place and being closr would be a good experience. I'm definitely not one of those unreasonably picky, hard-to-please Yelpers who seem to thrive off giving establishments few stars, I usually only review places that I think deserve 5 stars; but North Beverly Roast Beef can't be ignored. Have ordered from here a handful of times - usually order and then go pick it up. When I go in the store, no matter how empty it is, the 2-3 individuals behind the counter take a minimum of 2 solid minutes before my presence is even acknowledged. Customer-service clearly isn't valued at this place because the employees/owners/whatever they are couldn't seem less enthused or appreciative that you're there giving them business. ANYWAYS, time to explain the experience that prompted this review. Last night, my girlfriend ordered the chicken kabob salad for delivery since she likes their pita bread. She ordered it without feta cheese, like she always does at Cabot Pizza when we go there (been there probably 30 times and they've never messed up a single order and actual seem to care that you are choosing to spend your hard-earned money at their restaurant). 45 minutes later, the delivery guy shows up. My girlfriend hands the delivery guy $15 and asks for change and the driver says he has no change. None at all. A delivery driver. No change. Then the guy actually tells my girlfriend that she needed to tell the person on the phone when she ordered that she would need the delivery driver to bring change. I'm sorry, but that's a lie. And if it's not a lie, it's the most assinine thing I've ever heard. Annoyed but hungry, she went upstairs and upon opening it realized that the salad was covered in feta cheese, as if they heard her order NO feta and decided she must mean EXTRA feta. This place needs to start caring a bit more about the image they convey to their customers. It's mind-blowing to me that this place is even in business when Nick's Roast Beef is directly across the street. Like, this place has to be some sort of cover business because nothing they churn out here is superior to anything in the area and their collective attitude sucks. I know delivery drivers typically carry $20 or less in change, but a delivery guy carrying no change at all? Get it together, that's just embarrassing. Take some pride in your work. This place has lost my business forever. Oh, and for the record -- Cabot Pizza's kabob salads are lightyears better and their pitas are better. It was my first time ever going here, I got a steak and cheese, and it was awful. It was really salty and the roll was stale. The floors here are filthy, the bathroom is dirty, and the employees were eating behind the counter.. Nothing more appetizing than an employee munching on food then cooking something for you. I used to love this place because the food was delicious as well as portions are big. You walk in yo pick up and customer service is great. Food is always hot, fresh. I even tried delivery and that went well too. Things made specific the way I ordered it and delivery comes in a timely manner. Tonight I call and the reception on my sell was poor. He told me this so I moved and reception was better because I had all bars on cell. The person takes my order and then again says bad reception but then hangs up on me instead of saying please call back again. I then call repeatedly back snd they aren't picking up on purpose. I know (because I've bend there many times, they have caller ID.) Finally dome picks up and then just doesn't talk or say anything. I know they can hear me say hello, hello because I can hear them in the background. I call again, someone picks up and I explain, in a nice tone, saying you don't just hang up on someone because of bad reception and then choose not to answer the phone. I've never gone here for a roast beef because Nick's is literally across the street, and it doesn't make sense to deviate from perfection. What I have gotten from North Beverly Roast Beef & Seafood is their Chicken Kabob Salad. I think every time I've gone there it's what I get because it is ridiculously and consistently good. This includes the chicken and its marinade, the lettuce, the feta, all the other fixings like green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded carrots, pepperoncinis, kalamata olives, etc., and the pita bread. The pita bread is homemade and really, really good. I usually get an extra piece (just because). The house Greek dressing is yummy too. I'm not saying other stuff at this place is bad by any means... I just haven't tried much of anything else. It's just that if I am feeling like eating healthy (may not be a entirely accurate with this salad) I would go out of my way to get a salad from this place because it is soooo good. read more
