A group of 9 and Emily was an excellent server. My steak was overcooked and so was another steak in our group. It wasn't Emily's fault and she offered to fix it. Other than that, the food was good. Loved this place. The food was excellent and prices reasonable. The service was also excellent with very prompt, friendly service. The hot rolls with cinnamon butter is to die for. And as they serve their peanuts in the shell although no more throwing the empty shells on the floor. I liked the vibe. Definitely hard working people come here looking for a great value. Aye at the Texas Roadhouse in Grand Junction Colorado on Friday August 22,2025. What a disappointment. The service was terrible never did the waitress, Destiny, check to see if we needed drink refills or anything. My husband ordered a $38 porter house steak ordered extra rare. Meat was cooked well done. Meat was very salty tasting. I ordered ribs and they were charcoaled and dry. Watched the servers stand around talking more than attending to their customers. When a man came around to see how our service and food was we told him and he seemed disturbed about us telling him about the poorly cooked meat. Will not eat there again and will be sure to not suggest this place. Terrible experience. This is second time in the last few months we ate here. Has gotten worse. we had bad food the last two visits now. Sad as at one time this place was good. read more

The kinda chubby, long braided haired bartender that worked Friday November 15th (lunch) was terrible. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. An iced tea and a cocktail. They took forever. She never ordered us our bread and butter and we had to ask her where it was. She took wayyyy too long to take our orders for the amount of patrons. The bar was 75% empty. We ordered an appetizer and one entree. They came out at the exact same time. The food was completely tasteless. Glad it was free. Never again. Oh yeah. Host told us to wait by the Orange sign and it would be less than 5 minutes for a table for 2. Many people came in after us, were directed to the sign behind us and were then seated. This happened several times. Finally asked at the host station when we would be seated - after waiting for more than 15 minutes - and were told that we would be seated right away. ?!? Ordered our steaks medium rare and only the prime rib was actually cooked correctly. Server never came back to check on our meals, so we ate the overcooked sirloin. Bussers were busy but couldn't be bothered to take away empty salad plates- even when it was clear that we were done with them. It's what I expected from Texas Roadhouse. But I must admit I am kinda disappointed in this one. I have been to many, many TRs all over the USA. This place had the food but the TR experience I got everywhere else...wasn't here. Food wasn't bad at all. But first TR I ever been a manager didn't check to see if my meal was ok. But the experience was lacking. Maybe it's because the Roadhouses I'm comparing this one to are actually in Texas. And just kicked ass in everything mostly. Not sure if I'll be back. Are part waited over 1 hr then a man in are party the waiter never took his order then he also at table had 2 bottle beers and waiter said he couldn't have a 3rd tell his dinner came then after that the manager said he couldn't serve him any more with his food there ? There were 6 of us for dinner. Excellent food and service. We put our bill on a charge card but requested no tip on the card. We tipped our server $40.00 cash. Somehow they ended up putting a tip on our card also. I called the next day. They were very nice, took care of the problem and the charge was taken off our card the next day. We had a large party (15) and wanted to be seated in the same section. We were basically told that they don't cater to large groups. Now I started thinking back to a time when they catered to the Colorado Mesa football team. Not only did they cater to them but the rest of the patrons were not able to get any bread or good service. The people at the front counter the night we had the large group were very flippant toward us. I used to eat here two or three times a year but I doubt I will ever return after this bad experience. The roadhouse needs to realize there's large families trying to celebrate things and they don't want their party sitting in totally opposite ends of the place. I'm really disappointed with my dinner tonight. I did order Togo and should have checked it before I left, I suppose. The wings have no sauce and are dry; I ordered hot buffalo but it's like there is only a dry rub on there, no buffalo sauce. I didn't get any blue cheese that I ordered but didn't notice until I got home. The meal came with bread but there was no butter. Every Roadhouse I have eaten in across the county has been top notch. This is not the case with the absolute garbage roadhouse here in Grand Junction. The last three times the food has been wrong but the service has been great. Today, we could even get in the door without dealing with the crap service this place has turned into. Apparently you need 50% of your party there to get seated. I wanted a table for 3 and there were 2 of us. The host couldn't figure out that we had more then 50% there and would not seat us. There are some significant training/customer service issues at this location. Avoid it until it gets imploded and they open the one by the mall. read more

We went last night and it was way too crowded so we left and came back today in the late afternoon. Still busy but we were seated right away. Fresh baked rolls on the table friendly happy staff. Our waiter Bryce arrived shortly with a big smile. We placed our orders and everything was excellent. Judging from the consistently packed restaurant, it seems easy to jump on the enthusiastic bandwagon, and I will. Despite being a "chain" restaurant, Texas Roadhouse (at least the GJ location) absolutely cooks an outstanding steak over and over and over again. I find myself here almost weekly for a big steak dinner and their outstanding margaritas (they truly are excellent). Service is fast and friendly (typically). Salads are cold and crisp, served on cold dishes, steaks are high quality and consistently prepared, and the overall atmosphere is upbeat and fun. Texas Roadhouse is a great place for a gathering, a celebration or just to satisfy a need for a great steak when you don't feel like cooking. read more

The service was great, but I was disappointed by the steak. Ordered a Dallas filet MR, and it was one of the worst filets I've ever had. It looked good when I cut into it, but it was tough and chewy.
