Unfortunately came in an hour before stated closing and we were approached by the manager that they were closing early - with like 15 people there in the dining room at multiple tables at a classic late night dining staple of my entire life ... really disappointing as we were looking forward to a nostalgic diner meal after a long drive and before leaving Colorado at 9pm.... read more

This Village Inn in Grand Junction, CO was about 3 mikes off the main 70 interstate (Horizon Drive). Quite a few eating establishment in this area. We Ordered Cobb salad and chicken avocado sandwich. Barak was our server and did an excellent job, also great character. Salad and sandwich were very good, emphasizing perfectly fresh avocado. Basis soups were good except a bit on the warm (not hot) side. Bought a slice of apple & cherry pie to go. These were also very good, but could have been a bit bigger slices. We prefer Village Inn and Crackle Barrel when traveling in between fast food for healthier, home style meals and their prices are very reasonable. read more

We were in a mood for a Taco Salad and after 3 of our favorite Mexican Restaurants were closed on Monday, we thought we'd settle for a Club Salad ( which we like their Club Salads, so it wasn't a huge disappointment ). Then I saw Taco Salad on the menu and asked about the size ( some restaurants are serving a very small salad in a small shell ). Impressed by her description we ordered the Taco Salad. Wow, it was fantastic, better than we've had in a while almost anywhere else. The price was good, service was terrific and salad was very satisfying. We ordered delivery. I ordered a big country skillet. It came with a couple of pieces of sausage, very little cheese, maybe 2 thin pieces of red peppers, no onion and a bunch of potatoes. I also ordered a ham Omelette which was overcooked had very few pieces of ham. I also ordered a sausage and cheese crepe combo with bacon. The crepes had very few sausage and no bacon. My husband called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. The manager told him to call back in the morning to speak to a different manager. Why didn't the manager offer to remake the order correctly?! This is how you do business? Absolutely lousy food and horrible customer service! read more

Worst service ever. Clara is a horrible server and should find a different endeavor. She never checked on us. Not once. My plate was terribly cold. Didn't even eat it because my server never checked on me for me to tell her. She walked up as I was telling The cashier. Guy with glasses was rude. Although he did take it off my ticket. Will not ever go back. Every time it's a disappointment. This was the last straw. We've been going regularly to Village Inn for over 10 yrs. For a chain restaurant, it's exceptionally well run, and the food and service are always very good. Breakfast is served all day the pies are to die for - eat in or take one home. Yum! read more

The village inn use to be a favorite place for breakfast. The food quality has gone down to very poor , the hash browns come out partially cooked in the middle and barely browned on the outside ; the pancakes were still doughy in the middle. The bacon came out mostly raw and very fatty. I use to get a ham steak when I ordered ham & eggs, now you get a couple small pieces that look like lunch meat slices. I like their California skillet but yesterday my family and I ate at the village inn on North Ave. Grand junction, Colorado and the skillet was in this very small ceramic skillet, much smaller then before. Still paid same price for it almost 12.00. Not going there again, prices are too high and portions are getting smaller! read more

Was looking for a late night place to eat. Using yelp i found this place. It was a tough call. Go to Dennys with 3 stars or village inn with 4 stars. The greeted us warmly and our server was polite and patient. The food was great except the part of one egg. See the photo. It looked more like a pigeon sized egg vs a full single chicken egg. Looked almost like they made one egg and cut it in half. It was only good for one big bite. Obviously a great late meal or early breakfast was ruined by the egg issue. See photos for yourself. The server did offer to make another egg at no charge. I didnt hear her but my guest heard her. As we were leaving i could not to help to notice all the trash left by previous guest. The host did try to seat us on the opposite side of resturant but i chose this spot myself to watch TV. So i cant fully blame the host or staff they did try to seat us in a different area. read more

Our ambulance crews always stop for a meal break at this VI, and have done so for many years. We've seen staff come and go, and even saw a complete remodelling. The food. is always good. The pie is always awesome. Above all else, the staff are always friendly, professional and welcoming. We will continue to stop here for many more years. read more

Even though the food quality never remains the same I always get good service from Barak, when we can get him. The last few times, the pies had the consistency that they were left out on a counter all night and dried out. It's ok since it's the only sit down place open during the grave yard shift. read more

We go to Villiage Inn once or twice a month and over the years they have been consistent and dependable. The food is the standard coffee house fare with a variety of sandwiches, dinner entres, and breakfast items. It's one of the few places in town that serves breakfast all day long. My favorite menu item is their Santa Fe breakfast burrito, a perfect combination of eggs, black beans, chicken, potatoes and chilis. The restaurant was renovated recently and the interior decor is more modern with free wifi and several flat screen TVs. I could do without the TVs, but the lighting is nice and there is a good mix of booth space and tables. After dinner hours the crowd at this location tends to get a bit "eclectic" with lots of pale, pierced people and tattoos, so if that sort of thing bothers you it might be best to avoid late night visits. read more

My boyfriend and I love this place! Whenever we can't sleep or we want an actual meal late at night, we go here and it never fails to disappoint! We always have Angel, and she's really nice and hilarious. Such great service! She loves to crack jokes with us, and it's absolutely awesome. She always makes sure that we're doing okay, and she's always considerate towards all of her customers. Especially since she has the graveyard shift. This place is always a go-to! read more

I like both Village Inn locations in GJ. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. On Wednesdays all VIs give a free slice of their wonderful pie (any variety) with purchase of entree. The atmosphere is casual, and they are open 24 hours, so you don't have to plan ahead in order to get a good meal. The menu is extensive, so I haven't had time to try everything. The lunch special of soup and half-sandwich is really great! My favorite combo is the reuben with southwestern soup. read more

I was in the restaurant on Wednesday , February 8, 2017, with my husband and daughter. I have advanced Multiple Sclerosis and am in a wheelchair. I have a "Certified, Registered, Support Animal" which I take with me everywhere. He keeps me calm so that I don't aggravate my disease. He always sits in the seat next to me, and lays his head on my lap. We have been going to this same VI for years and have been taking my support animal for the last year. Nothing has ever been said about my animal before. But on this day, we were seated and I put my animal next to me, on a chair, as I have always done. A manager, heavyset woman, came over and told me I couldn't have him next to me on a chair. We explained that we had always done it this way and had never had a complaint. In fact, people would compliment us on how well behaved he is. My husband got mad and took my support dog back to the car. He did not return. My daughter and I sat in the restaurant for a while and tremors associated with my MS began. I couldn't sit there. We got up to leave and my daughter had already ordered coffee, but she couldn't stand what the restaurant had done to me. As we walked over to pay for the coffee, a very nice lady offered to pay for our coffee because she felt so bad about what had been done to me. She leaned over, placed her hand on my shoulder, and said how sorry she was. I will NEVER return to this establishment. They violated my rights as a handicapped person, in front of a filled restaurant. I've always been treated with respect before, but this visit overshadowed all other visits. read more
