Had 2 very over priced beers. Only half of my order made it out of the kitchen, they tried to charge me for it, but the bartender did take it off my bill. This was not a great experience. I was greeted when I entered but the young lady spoke so fast I could not understand anything she said after "hello." I followed her and said "please tell me what you just said, I could not understand anything you said." She rolled her eyes and said "just follow..." I then had to figure out who I was supposed to follow. We made it to my table. The guests behind me were EXCEPTIONALLY loud as was the restaurant and the guests behind me eventually left. I have gluten limitations. I was given the gluten free menu...SUPER!!! I ordered and my food came out with the shrimp resting on rolls which were on the plate with the meat and sweet potato. Who doesn't love a great steak? No matter where I travel I make sure to stop at a Texas Roadhouse. This restaurant offers a reasonably priced steak meal with 2 sides. I recently tried their grilled salmon. It didn't taste fishy and had a wonderful lemon pepper seasoning on it. If you like sitting for 30 minutes waiting for a drink while other people that were seated after you are getting their entrees, this is the place for you. Took just under an hour to get the appetizer and then another 25 minutes for the entrees. When the steaks came out, they were so overcooked that a feral hog wouldn't eat them. Considering that we ordered them medium rare, the "cooks" in the kitchen shouldn't be let anywhere near an easy bake oven. The entire section we sat in had the same issues and the manager had her hands full giving free meals. Ironically, she would not comp the drinks even though they were watered down and had no carbonation left in them from sitting on the bar for so long. Sad thing is, I have eaten here several times in the past but will never come back again. I'd rather risk explosive diarrhea at Taco Bell than step foot in this establishment ever again. read more

Texas Roadhouse is a chain steak joint. Typically they serve up decent steaks. I like my temperature at medium. Unfortunately, this time around my steak came out blue. I don't like sending food back but this time I had to. It came back well done. The flavor was ok but the steak just wasn't enjoyable because it was chalky. So I spoke to the manager. Instead of comping or removing the meal from our bill, I was given the employee discount which was a joke, it wasn't even 10%. Apparently, we were not the only ones. Don't come here if you have a peanut allergy. Now that that's out of the way, had a great time here at Texas Roadhouse. Came on a busy Thursday afternoon and there was a wait but they make it bearable by providing peanuts! They have little paper bags at the host station which you can fill with peanuts from the big barrel to take and eat while waiting. The waiting area is pretty big and littered with peanut shells as I guess it's encouraged for people to just drop the shells on the after eating them? It was an entirely new concept to me but kinda cool. After you're seated they provide you with EVEN MORE peanuts in a little pail with an empty pail for shells. They also provide free bread with their cinnamon butter with was so good. I was tempted to eat the whole basket but had to save room for the main courses. We used the Yelp check-in deal to get the cactus blossom (requires puechase of 2 entrees) which was the best onion blossom I've had at any restaurant. And quite possibly better than most onion rings I've had. Jeremy C ordered the Dallas filet, while I ordered the New York Strip. After our first bite we ended up switching since we like the other's better. The Dallas filet was more tender and had better texture but was not quite as flavorful as the New York Strip. Both were very good though! I also ordered the baked potato and chili on the side which I ended up having to pack to go since I was so stuffed! Both were also good, the colors has a lot of beans but also little bits of steak in it. Our waittess was very friendly, and provided water refills without us even asking. Excellent service, yummy food. Rach makes the the PERFECT Arnold Palmer. You don't even have to mix or stir it. She cane back with fresh ones without having to be asked. My criteria for excellent service always includes this attention detail. Crispy Cactus Blossom and sauce. Yum. Proper temp and texture on our steaks. Oh my god. I have been to several Texas Roadhouse locations, including in Texas. The one in Kenosha is very good. Is it kitschy? Of course! It's a chain restaurant. If you want authentic Texas, get in your car, drive to Mitchell, and fly to Texas. You will be served steak and fixings, burgers, chicken. The big buckets of peanuts are gone in our post-COVID panic world, but the server will bring you a bag if you request it. They still have rolls and honey butter. The service is usually decent, the drinks good, the food good. Ambiance? It's supposed to be a roadhouse. That's what it tries to be. read more

Texas Roadhouse used to be our go-to place no matter what town we were in. No matter the location, we could always expect the same great quality and service. Well, after our experience here last Saturday, I don't think we'll ever go to one again. I don't know what's going on with them but the last few times we've gone, the quality just isn't there. Whether it's over-cooked pork chops and steaks or baked potatoes that were warming in the oven too long, it seems like there is always something that isn't done right. Still, with the good history we had with them, we thought to give them another chance. On Saturday night, it started off nice as our waitress, Hailey, greeted us and took our orders. My wife and I ordered the 16-ounce sirloin steaks with the sides. What came out to us were 2 rib-eye steaks. Now, I know there's a lot of people that would prefer a rib-eye over a sirloin, but to me, there is just too much fat on them. We ordered sirloins, we should get sirloins. We hailed Hailey down and asked why we got the wrong steaks. She apologized and said the cooks must have mis-read the order. She had put down sirloins on order. She said she would replace mine and it would only take a few minutes. My wife said she would keep hers as she didn't want it to go to waste. While waiting for my steak to come back, my wife found that she couldn't eat the rib-eye as it had too much fat. Like me, she wanted a sirloin. That's what we ordered. We flagged Hailey down again and told her my wife didn't want the rib-eye. Again, Hailey apologized and asked my wife if she would like something else. Seeing how long it was taking for my steak to come out, she said not to bother, she lost her appetite. Hailey said they would discount it off the bill. Since my wife was done, I only ate part of my steak after finally receiving it 20 minutes later, (the steak was over-cooked and the potato tasted like the one they brought back with the steak since it was lukewarm and dried out) and we just decided to leave. Our bill came and we saw that rib-eye, not sirloin was on the order. Hailey had lied to us, saying the cooks mis-read the order. Additionally, $25 was taken off the bill. Not sure how they came up with that number, but maybe they thought $25 was more than a sirloin steak cost ($22.99) so there would be a little extra. However, a rib-eye (which was on the bill) costs $27.99, plus my wife also had the smothering of mushrooms for an additional $2.29. If you are going to comp someone for wrecking the meal, you should re-fund the meal which was incorrectly put on the bill, which came to $30.28, not $25. We got the manager over and told her what was going on with the bill. I also told her my meal was also screwed up and I had to wait a lot longer than expected to get it. We didn't come in here and expect this to happen. It's not like we got what we ordered and just didn't like it. Also, if Hailey would had been honest about it and just admitted she made a mistake, we wouldn't had been that upset, everyone makes mistakes and owning up to it goes a long way. But when you lie to us and blame someone else, well, that's worse than getting the wrong meal. We told the manager about the waitress lying to us and she said she could only take off the $25 off the bill on my wife's meal but then agreed to refund me $11 for screwing up my meal. Wait, if you screwed up the order and put a more expensive item on it than what we had ordered, why couldn't you give a refund for that item? You screwed it up, not us. We were paying more for an item we didn't order! At this point, we were done with this place and just wanted to get out of there so we paid the bill and left. It's too bad. We were long time customers who really enjoyed and looked forward to eating a meal at Texas Roadhouse. But with the decline in quality and the dishonesty of the workers, we won't be coming back. Edit: I almost forgot. My wife found a large ice cube in her salad. I had a small one that I crunched on in mine. Lucky for me it was small, otherwise I might have cracked a tooth! I went there this past Friday to take my girlfriend out for her birthday. The food never really disappoints. We ordered the combo appetizer with potato skins, rattlesnake bites and buffalo wings. Everything was good besides the potato skins. The beer I ordered was cold. The only thing I probably had a problem with was service. If you like watching a bunch of teenagers stand around and talk and gossip, while they should be serving, or checking on customers ,this is a place to go to do see that in action. I like this chain of restaurants because their steaks are hand cut and served fresh. They serve decent appetizers like the onion blossom, but I found it a little too salty unless you add the dressing. They are known for their fresh bread rolls and cinnamony butter which as so soft and gooey. I ordered the 20 oz bone-in ribeye and it was cooked perfectly and only about $25. My husband ordered the baby back ribs which looked good, but nothing like a good tasting steak! The baked potato was seasoned with kosher salt and you can add fixin's like mushrooms and onions for only $1.99 to your steak or potato. I hate waiting in lines and they have a really good options to phone ahead on the day of your planned dinner and let you get in the wait list and they give you a good idea how long it will take so when I got in there Saturday night, the table was almost ready right away! read more
