I enjoyed my visit to the Texas Roadhouse very much. I am glad that i took my dad here for his first time experience of the Texas steak and he loved it! This place has very unique ambience. They give you tons of peanuts in buckets to eat and let you throw peanut shells on the floor. I have not seen that anywhere else. The atmosphere is laid back and it can get pretty loud. The restaurant is always packed but you never have to wait for long. The steak is priced more than reasonable and the flavor is spot on. I've had much pricier steak but i think the one i had at TR actually tasted better. I also liked the bread and butter that came with our meal. The portion is big so we had leftovers to take home. I have visited this place more times than I would particularly care for. It seems that it's very hard for them to get a steak for my liking. I always order a Caesar salad with my steak. Three times that I have visited, my Caesar salad came out after my steak. Very rude front desk hostesses, they know if they run you off that more people will still show up. It is so frustrating to try to eat here with 8 or more people. Call ahead didn't work as they did not even have the table set up, and would not even put us on the list after arrival until the one single member of our party finished trying to find a parking spot and came in. I always try to avoid eating at chains and support local family places, but this is the one exception. Good consistent steaks and services even though the wait could be long. Always call ahead to reserve. For some reason this particular roadhouse simply tastes better or have better quality than their other locations in Abilene and DFW. Arrived about 11am 07/06/2014. Would have rated it a 4 star if not for uncleanliness of our table. Place was far from full. Seated promptly at a dirty table (crumbs and bits of food residue). Asked the waitress to clean the table, she disappeared for several minutes, returning with a cloth and proceeded to wipe up the places she could see crumbs. Upon finishing that, she started to walk off. I asked her at that point to clean the whole table, not just the places where she saw crumbs. She decided to move us to another table, albeit cleaner, obviously out of her serving area. Don't know if the first table was adequately cleaned, but another party was soon seated there. The second waitress however was very attentive and gave excellent service at a cleaner table. Food: I had a small sirloin smothered with sautéed mushrooms. This was the BEST Prime Rib we have ever eaten, hands down. It is a very crowded place but you can call ahead 1 hr before so when we got here it took less than 10 min to seat us. I love this place. The waitstaff is fantastic and quit to get you seated and served. The menu is great in its setup and easy to navigate.
