(Resteraunt Review: Texas Roadhouse) I've ate at Texas Roadhouse since I was a kid and it rarely disappoints. Recently for my 21st Birthday I went here and ordered my first Alcoholic beverage, it took a little long to arrive but when it did it was amazing. The food is also really good, the Steaks are soft and juicy, the salad is full of flavor, and the drinks are nice and crisp. The star of the show is the buttered roles! It's a fantastic place to sit down and eat with family, and if you are going during the middle of the week you may just be seated quickly. But 90% of the time you will be waiting ages to be seated. That is why I am reviewing this 4 out of 5 stars. Great food indeed just takes ages to get it. read more

We were set down and were not helped for more than 30 minutes. We had to ask twice for our server before someone helped us the first time. We were given a free appetizer, but honestly should have just left. We had to ask 3 time in total for regular butter. My sons meal was brought out wrong with nothing special ordered just ribs with mashed potatoes and fries. I ordered a side of shrimp that came out cold. As of writing this we still haven't received my son's fries and my whole meal consisted of a lukewarm cactus blossom and 1/2 a cold roll. I will definitely never be back. We were pretty disappointed with the service tonight. As a party of 5, we were sat at a 4-person table and the hostess never brought a chair for our fifth person. After sitting there uncomfortably for 10 minutes, the waitress finally brought over a chair. When we told her we had been waiting 10 minutes, she responded with "figures!" like this is a normal issue. No bread plates or bread were brought to us until we requested them after about 20 minutes. Everything was great with our meals, I hope next time the hostesses can be more attentive. Side note: They did allow us to use our Yelp free appetizer offer, which expired in August 2012. read more

I had an issue with my to go order multiple times. I was put on hold and transferred 5 times. When I got up to get my order I checked it and it was wrong. I asked to speak to a manager and a manger named Bre (long dark brown hair wore glasses) was so rude. She basically said that I should've checked my order online before placing it because that's what the order I put in said. ? So rude for no reason, did not try to accommodate in any way. They talk about "legendary service" but there's nothing legendary about the service at this Texas Roadhouse. This Muncie one is giving such a bad rep to all of the other ones. Do not eat here, absolutely horrible all the food besides the mashed potatoes and fries were bad either came out wrong or made our stomach hurt. I asked for steak medium and it came out rare. UPDATE: This location refuses to accept their check in offer. The manager, Mark, tried to say they have nothing to do with Yelp and it is all 3rd party affiliation. He had no advice or suggestions as to how to handle the situation. After some back and forth talk in which I explained to him how Yelp works. he decided to let my mom try the pickle chips. Thank you sir but your attitude could have been far friendlier since it is your store that has the problem not your customers. The food is so amazing! We love the steak and ribs combo, its the best of both worlds. Their ribs are literally falling off of the bone and it is all edible meat, none of that mystery gristle. Steaks are always cooked to order and I have only had to send them back on two occassions in the 15 years I've been going here. I recommend trying the Greenbeans and salad as sides. I love the frozen margaritas as well! I now live out of town but always try to squeeze in a visit here when I'm back visiting and my family is more than happy to comply. Obviously the servers tend to be college kids and this place is a great opportunity for them to be able to work through school. The down side to that is sometimes you get a server that isn't up to par but even then the service isn't bad. All in all I would recommend this place! read more

Last Monday, my husband and I both got text messages from Texas Roadhouse stating that the Early Dine menu was extended until 6 pm. The server who was very polite stated that it will not let him ring this up after 5pm. We asked several times to speak with the manager ( who I was told was named Jayden) and he said the manager said that he does not have time to come see us. He is busy because someone called in. We were there for about an hour so I'm sure sometime during that 60 minutes he could've came by our table for a minute. I said that we shouldn't have to pay the regular price because our text message clearly showed that it was until 6 pm and we were ordering about 5:30 pm. He apologized for the inconvenience but we didn't get to speak to the manager and had to pay full price. I have never been to a restaurant or any business actually that the manager refused to talk about a problem with the customer. The food was great and the service was even better but the manager really dropped the ball here and we had to pay more than we should have. We are very disappointed to say the least. I called and talked to a different manager and she said she'd contact marketing and see if it was true that there was an error in the messages they sent out but of course I still haven't heard anything back. Food average - service questionable (waiter spilled water on my iPhone didn't even offer a napkin) - fortunately it works so far. Removed Miller Lite from draft that is like an American staple in the beer world - I assume this is a corporate decision saving a couple of bucks a keg - FYI at 4.50 for 22 ounces your profit margin is still 400% plus.... had to settle with Coors lite. If I could rate this less than a 1 I would totally would. My family and I went to the restaurant and waited for more than 45 minutes two different tables got there after us and their food were served before us. When we finally got our food everything was cold. They probably left it stand in the kitchen or somewhere because everything was cold. My 4yr old was hungry so she ate her food cold because she would not give us her plate back. We were very disappointed and we love that restaurant. If I could give negative stars, I would. Our waiter was great but the wait time to get our food after ordering was longer then it should have considering the people at the table next to us got sat well after us and got their food long before we did. Then when we finally got our food, it was great at first. Once we started cutting up my son's chicken we found plastic cooked into the batter. I got up and told our waiter because obviously my son wasn't going to eat that. He said he would get the manager and come talk to us. Austin was very nice and apologetic. Then the manager Rob came over and asked what was wrong almost as if we were just complaining and not wanting to pay. I told him none of us were going to eat anything because we didn't want to after we saw the plastic in the chicken. I literally took two bites out of my entree and stopped when I saw the plastic. He was almost rude because he said, "You're really not going to eat any of that?" I told him no, it ruined my appetite and honestly I was scared to eat anything else. Rob is a jerk and acted like it was normal to find plastic in food. All I can think is, thanks goodness my child didn't just start eating and choked on plastic. I feel bad for his staff that has to deal with a boss that doesn't take responsibility in his kitchen. I am ServSafe certified and that should not have happened unless people aren't following food safety rules. We will never go back. With the new steakhouse my wife and I decided on our anniversary dinner that was postponed from late March because of the virus scare. The food was excellent, the waitress was very prompt and courteous, the seating was fast and comfortable. I wear hearing aids and I had to take them out. The music was way, way too loud. I couldn't hear the waitress without getting her to repeat or get my wife to say what the waitress said or was asking. I didn't look around to see if I was sitting next to a speaker or not, but when I got ready to leave I put my hearing aids back in and it was loud all the way to the door. read more

If I were writing this review 10 years ago, I would be giving this place five stars. The novelty of throwing peanut shells on the floor impressed me more then, and I had very little to compare the food to. Now, after having lived in Chicago, on the east coast and for the last 6 years, in the international city of Honolulu, all that I can say is, "I've had better". My memories are fond ones, but sadly the Texas Roadhouse doesn't live up to them. The Filet Medallions (seriously, WTH are medallions?) are dry and bland even when ordered medium rare. The seasoning on the stale fries is a bit heavy handed. The steamed vegetables were soggy and overcooked. Whatever my wife ordered displeased her to the point where she wouldn't even eat it, but she was too polite to raise a fuss in front of my family (who, by the way, were enjoying the food tremendously). Because of my memories of enjoying the food here (before I had experienced better), I had thought that this place would be on my must visit list any time that I was back in town. Well, no longer, I've said my goodbyes to Texas Roadhouse. If I never make it back, I'll be just fine. The menu prices are very fair for this type of food however! Also, they used to be able to move tables around to accommodate large groups. On my last visit we were told that the tables are now bolted down so this can't be done. I've always somewhat enjoyed the food at Texas Roadhouse, but this particular one in Muncie was just not a pleasant dining experience. We were in town for the 70.3 Ironman, so of course all the restaurants were jam packed in Muncie. We saw the Texas Roadhouse didn't have a line so we decided to go in. We got seated right away which was nice, and our waitress came and was nice as well. She however kept saying how she is new so blah blah blah... i hate waitresses that do that. don't use your newness as an excuse! just do your job and if you're good we won't even know the difference! Unfortunately, she did not do such a great job; not only did we pretty much wait an hour for our food to finally come out, but throughout that hour, the like two times she came to our table, she had bad news. First, they ran out of baked potatoes. 3 out the 4 of us had baked potatoes.... ok they'll go with the mashed instead. 15 minutes later, "I'm sorry we are out of mashed potatoes too". let me tell you that it was about 6pm in the evening.... how do you run out of potatoes already?!?! Ok, that might not have been the waitresses fault, but what WAS her fault was the fact that she never came back to check on us, or clear our table! so we pretty much sat there with our dirty salad and bread plates and empty glasses. Now, what I was more pissed about than anything was when I started feeling incredibly hot and sweaty. After asking for the manager, he proceeds to tell us that their air conditioning unit broke. Whhhhat??! Let me remind you that the weather was 100+ outside!! you are letting your customers in without telling them this?? Put a sign at the door or something - it is so dangerous to have people inside with that much heat! anyway, the food finally came and i was way too hot to even eat it. my this time, not only was my body temperature boiling, so was my blood pressure. the food actually tasted really good, but i ended up only eating a few bites and packing up the rest of it and bringing it home to eat in my air conditioned B&B. i gave this place 2 stars for at least the staff being nice and the food (what they actually had in stock!) being good. read more

I'm gonna start with this... Texas Roadhouse "used" to be a great place to eat. Not no more!! We went there about a month ago and our son ordered there grilled shrimp... nasty!! I don't know if it was expired or had been left out, but it was horrible so the family as a whole decided not to go back. Well me being me I'm like we should give it another shot (yesterday) NOPE!! Got there waited to be seated, got seated, then waited forever on our waiter thinking maybe they didn't give us a waiter. They did (he was new which I understand to a degree) He brought us the rolls (which was great we was starving) ordered our drinks waited a good 10-15 mins just to get that. Then we didn't see him for a hot minute again. A couple got seated beside us and a minute or 2 after they had arrived our waiter returns to take our order. No roll refills, no drink refills... so we order. Then the table next to us orders. Then to more parties get seated at 2 different tables, then the lady that got there about the same time as us got her food and was done. The couple previous mentioned got there food and was done the 2 other parties got there food and was done.... So we finally see our waiter and tell him we want our check for the drinks only and that we're leaving. He goes towards the kitchen is gone for about 5/10 mins then returns and says your food is in the window would you like it or do you still want your check. I said I want my check. He then tells me it'll be a minute because the manager has to go into the "system" and take everything off OOOOK. So then I have my kids go to the car cause there restless, tired, and yes still hungry!! Me and my fiancée then wait again for another 10/15 mins. She's like I don't know why you're waiting so after all this time and patience I'm like I give up on manners and just general respect at this point. So we stand up and the manager comes up behind us and says that she apologizes the waiter "FORGOT TO PUT OUR FOOD TICKET ORDER IN"... shut-up!! She's like we can get your food for you to go, still being respectful we politely declined her offer. Then she gave us gift card for 2 entrees at $15 dollars a piece ($30). Our family has agreed that we will no longer be a patron or supporter of Muncie Texas Roadhouse. This is the last thing I'll say... if you love Texas Roadhouse go to the one in Anderson, IN its worth the drive/wait. My husband went in this evening had dinner and 2 beers and sat at the bar. Before he left I had asked him to get me some croutons and ranch for me to snack on..I ALWAYS get them instead of a salad lol. So he ordered them waitress brought them all bagged up along with his bill, he looked at his bill and thought that's high for what I ordered so he looks at each item and amount....gets to my order of croutons and 9 DOLLARS !!! He asked why he was charged because we get them everytime we go with our dinner. The waitress says well our croutons are expensive to make so we have to charge for them..he says NOT 9 DOLLARS for 3 tiny salad dressing cups with MAYBE 5 croutons in each cup!!! With this being said my hubby DID NOT buy them and told them they could keep thier "expensive " croutons. I then called in to speak with the manager after my hubby told me this story and his reply was "ma'am it costs to make our croutons " I said well yes I get that but we do this at least once a week and normally are NOT charged. Needless to say we will NEVER go back!!! Management was rude and had no real reason as to why 9 dollars for croutons...you can buy an entire meal for 9 dollars so why on earth would they think charging 9 dollars for croutons would be ok ?? Upon entering this establishment and waiting to be seated, my friends and I were given a chance to win some tickets to a Kenney Chesney concert. A poster was hung up on the wall for us to scan a qr code. If this doesn't instantly tell you what Texas Roadhouse is all about, then I don't know what will. Maybe it's the constant yeehaw music playing outside and inside. Or maybe it's the sweet sweet smell of cinnamon butter and bread that whacks your olfactory as soon as you walk in. Whatever it is, they make sure you know you're in THE Tegas Roadhouse. Kicking this review off, I want to give a shout out to Tyson who sat me and my friends. This dude is like the red-tail hawk of texas roadhouse employees. You want to know why? His keen eyesight instantly noticed a problem with our rolls. Right before we sat down he was like "woah let me get you guys a new basket of rolls. Those look pretty crispy." Upon my observation of dem rolls, he was right. These bad bois were harder than Pharoah's heart if you know what I'm sayin. Despite this, we still enjoyed them, and as a bonus received some fresh doughy delicious rolls. On top of that, I let Tyson know he'd get a good review, and this man surprised us with another basket of rolls for our return home. Let's just say I was thoroughly pleased. Later into our dining experience, we also got some good laughs. Our waitress frequently checked in after we had our food, and one of those times asked my friend if he wanted some tartar sauce for his fried fish. The reason being that the sauce given to him with his food was a mystery. Our waitress couldn't tell what the sauce was, and this had us dyin. You're telling me someone in the kitchen just slapped together some condiments and placed it on my friend's plate? Whatever the sauce was, my friend enjoyed it. Always my first choice to go when I'm ready to go out to eat! The rolls, steaks, baked potatoes along with the rattlesnake bites are just to die for! Workers are very helpful and attentive to your dining needs. I went in for dinner with my son. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and he ordered the chicken critters (nuggets). It took a half hour for the food to get to us and when it did, all of my gravy had a skin on it, implying that it had sat in the window for some time while it waited on my son's food to be cooked. I bite into my chicken and it's rotten. I say something and the waitress takes it apologizes, asking if I want anything else. I get a skewer of shrimp, which was well cooked. Tender and good. I get the check and the chicken fried chicken wasn't entirely removed from the bill, only $6 was, and next to that was a note saying "DID NOT LIKE". I ask for the manager and he says that since I had eaten some of the sides, I only get a partial comp. Now, this makes logical sense but for the fact that the chicken was outright rotten and they're obviously trying to make it look like the chicken was sent back on a whim.
