3 strikes and you're out! I will not return and waste more time or money. Have dined at other Texas Roadhouse locations and they are topnotch, this locations needs to hire the right people. This steak restaurant is unable to cook a med-rare rib steak on 3 occasions, always raw, very frustrating. Even more frustrating is once I've cut the steak down the middle to check the done-ness of the steak, it is put back on the fire to cook it more and returned to me after the juices have run out of it. Now not only do I have a dry steak , all the people I am dining with have just about finished their meals and are waiting on me to eat my meal. On the first occasion the proprietor came to the table and gave us gift card for a return visit because the steak was returned after cooking it more and it was over cooked. Last weeks visit was our last, the front of the house, manager on duty with the handlebar mustache (Tyler?) not sure of his name, was not overly concerned with our dissatisfaction. He came to the table and after I explained the problem and its frequency he shrugged it off saying "everybody has a bad day" I responded "not 3 bad days- you are a steak house something is wrong if your cook can't properly cook a steak on 3 occasions". He once again said everybody has a bad day". Obviously he doesn't know what to do in a situation with a dissatisfied customer. He's not new in the position I've seen him on the floor before; just in over his head. This location has lost our business and it will take a change off staff for us to give it another try. Don't think this is the dining experience Corporate "Texas Roadhouse" has in mind when they award franchises. read more

The TRH is a nice restaurant. It's average food but nothing spectacular, and the portions I had were small vs the price. I started with, what I thought, would be a bowl of chili. It turned out to be roughly a cup worth in a large bowl. I finished it in probably three minutes, and it lacked flavor. I know they are known for their steaks but I went with the salmon. The portion was fine but everything else was bland. There was barely any seasoning on the fish and the vegetables were soaked in something in some type of, what tasted like, a butter sauce. The server was pleasant and the service was prompt, which was good. Maybe if I had a steak I would have made out better. Doubt I will be back. read more

Such a great place to go with the family and friends, clean and great service. I go often and I really dont do many reviews but just want to say a special thank you to Cnythia, shes a wonderful manager. She treats you like family and goes out of her way to help you. Last night they ha a short staff and was very busy but took great care of us even when a few friends showed up late. Shes a great manager and makes the place run well and I thank her for all her help. Plus our waitress Hannah was so busy working many tables she done a great job with our table of eight. Shes young and was working so hard to treat everyone special and it made our night wonderful. Stopped in on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. The place was packed, people waiting for tables inside and outside. So my companion and I sat at the bar. It was a lively atmosphere for sure. We ate appetizers with our drinks for dinner, fried pickle chips, bbq ribs and wings. The food was decent, nothing spectacular. I have previously ordered takeout from Texas Roadhouse. Always above and beyond! Today I was very disappointed! Rolls cold and for three of us just one small cinnamon butter! My steak was very good as was my grandsons. The sandwich my husband got was delicious. The only gripe was the rolls the butter and the practically raw brocoli! This is my first time here and we came here for lunch. I came here with my girlfriends. I kinda wished we were sat at a larger table rather than a 6 person booth cause we had more girlfriends stop by. It's actually my fault as I didn't know more were coming. So they sat the extra two people at the end of the booths blocking traffic. They were very accommodating though and again not their fault as they didn't know more were coming. Besides that i loves that the menu showed the calories for each dish. I also loved how they asked if we wanted separate bills which is usually hard for restaurants to do. Wow. Being a first time customer here lent me the greatest experience! First I got warm fresh baked bread and sweet creamy butter to start. (The peanuts to munch on didn't hurt either.) Then, because I told them it was my first time there the manager brought me over 6 samples of their sides. The chili was delicious!!! So I got that as a side as well as a loaded baked potato. YUM! Not a place for a healthy meal necessarily but delicious salmon. Slightly on the salty side, but flaky and tender. Great experience all around - scrumptious comfort food and impeccable service! Went to Texas expecting a great meal, I orders a prime rib medium rare but unfortunately they have ran out and only had medium so I decided to order it medium. To my surprise the food came quickly but my prime rib was well done this has really disappointed me, many of you will think I should of told the waiter but I don't have time to waste, but they should check the meat temperature before it comes out it's a steak house for crying out loud have some control over the food. Went here for the 1st time last night.The wait wasn't long either. About 15min. Good thing we went early because when we were finished, there were about 50 people waiting to be seated. We started out with fried pickles, which were amazing. The bread was good too. I'm not a big fan of cinnamon so I didn't indulge in their Cinnamon flavored butter. Ordered steak & shrimp with mashed potatoes & green beans. Everything was so good. The green beans were cooked in their signature sauce which includes bacon & onion. Unfortunately I didn't really like them. No big deal. Our waiter Phil was great as well. The 15min of line dancing every 45min was very entertaining. All in all, this place gets 5 stars. I come here quite often and the service is always amazing, food is great I've never had any complaints until tonight. I felt terrible for the staff. Me and my husband were sweating just sitting at the table. I can't imagine how the staff felt running around the restaurant, especially with masks and gloves on! I was a server and I remember even in the coldest months of the year I would sweat during a shift because tables have you running back and forth. I like to enjoy my meal but tonight we had to leave because of how hot it was. Please please do something about this for the sake of your customers but more importantly your staff!! read more

Texas Roadhouse may be from the 'Lone Star' state, but the restaurant definitely deserves at least four stars (see my minor gripes below). The food was good, plentiful and reasonably priced--I ordered the largest sirloin steak knowing I wanted to take leftovers home to my 16 year old. I ate half the steak and the salad and he ate the other half of the steak and the mashed potatoes, and we were both full--all for $20. My husband, who always cleans his plate in restaurants, couldn't finish his (excellent) chicken fried steak, so our son had that for lunch the next day. Our server (Austin) was polite and extremely attentive. The cons: the long wait time for a table and the excruiatingly loud noise level. The line dancing can get annoying, especially when you're seated in the aisle where they perform--I really don't need a row of rears wagging in my face while I eat. The bread rolls have a weird consistency and the spread they serve with them instead of butter is just disgusting. Also, you can't go by the calorie counts listed on the online menu. There is no way the side salad, deliciously loaded with shredded cheddar and hard boiled egg, is only 230 calories, and the pool of butter floating on top of the mashed potatoes alone must account for the 220 calories stated online for the dish. Overall, it's a very decent chain restaurant, and I don't say that very often. read more

So this is my first time at the Poughkeepsie location and I don't give second chances. Our server was great! We ordered three full racks of ribs which were extremely dry I ordered the 32 ounce sirloin with sautéed mushrooms and onions and the mushrooms came out Black and Burnt . Hello did they not see black like charcoal? It gave my steak a yummy burnt flavor . I ate a rib. ( dry burnt) the manager came over apologized for the mushrooms and removed the whole dollar 1.99 from the bill. He could clearly see that we didn't eat anything we ended up paying the bill no big deal we took everything home everyone feels sick. Dogs are happy though!! The only good thing was the bread and our server. Sorry Texas Roadhouse you've been x'd. So after speaking with the owner he was very nice and offered to complement our meal the next time we came I said no no no but I did change my mind we took him up on the offer and again service was remarkable friendlyand fairly fast we ordered basically the same exact thing we had the first time this time with no mushrooms no onions for the 32 ounce sirloin which was good. We ordered three racks of ribs one rack was perfect the two other racks were burnt to a Crisp. If you like LOUD...this is the place to come. Very busy and loud. This is not the place to come for an intimate dinner. Food is ok. Ribs could be hit or miss,. When I questioned the waitolr as to why it was coming out so quickly we were told during busy nights they keep them under the heat lamp. Unfortunately, this could easily be recognized as when we begin to eat it it was soggy and the dipping sauce is what I can only describe as having a disgusting flavor. My husband and I both ordered the ribeye, I ordered it medium well and my husband ordered it medium-rare. One came out so well done and burnt it was barely edible and the other came out literally raw. The manager was apologetic and offered to send them back, but at this point we had been in the resteraunt for over an hour and forty five minutes.
