    The raw steak

We were served a steak that was completely raw inside -- and after looking it up, it appeared to have what looked like an abscess in it. This is a serious food safety issue that could make someone sick. The steak was a wet dog food texture. Our waiter was kind and professional, but management never came over to apologize or address it at all. It was brushed off like it wasn't a big deal, which is unacceptable. I hope this location takes food safety and customer care more seriously moving forward.

I ordered a cheeseburger, medium well to-go. When I got home and heated it up it was raw. Literally pink. For what it's worth, they also forgot the bacon on the bacon cheeseburger.

OUTRAGEOUS! Save yourself the money and drive 20 minutes farther for a better TRH! I went for a second time 2 days later to see if anything had changed. Absolutely awful experience again. 2/6 meals were over & under cooked. The same manager came over & didnt listen to a word that was said & never came back. All the manager cared about was money after she brought back the second meal after re cooking it it was raw & the potato was burnt. She wouldnt of taken the meal off the plate unless she took the meal back like it wasnt wanted anyway.

Great service. Great food. Salads are fantastic. They accommodate substitutes. Wish they were open for lunch every day not just on weekends.

DONT go here. The most inept and rude people. The hostess quotes you 20 minutes and you wait over and hour.

Good service and food always. Takes a while to get seated sometimes on the weekend. But always a good experience.

My burger arrived very rare (unsafe for ground beef), and the "correction" was a charred, overcooked mess. The grill is clearly too hot, and the staff is clearly too distracted; the kitchen sounded more like a middle school playground than a professional restaurant. Management couldn't even provide a refund, forcing me to wait on a corporate response. If you value your time and your stomach, go elsewhere.

I keep ordering it because I have to eat salad and I dont have any allergies and the ingredients are very fresh. Its a gamble what you will get. Only 1 time were the toppings mostly correct. I usually get a completely different salad than i selected. Wrong lettuce, wrong dressing, missing and added toppings. No utinsels, wrong side salad. If you need healthy and fresh get it, but if you have allergies or are very picky beware. I am still ordering here because I really cant go wrong with any toppings on a salad but if you are a manager and care....getting the right toppings would be just amazing, totally make my meal 100% more enjoyable! 5 stars every time if I could get what I ordered. Dare I dream, someday someone will care :)

My wife and I spent an evening at the Marlowe and they were very accommodating as our reservation had fallen out of the system (probably due to my own user error) but as I mentioned they found a table for us and made sure we didn't miss our chance to partake in their phenomenal menu. I had the fall fashion which is their take on an old fashioned and it was terrific and the Rye whiskey played nicely with the amaretto. My wife had some sort of Sicilian wine cocktail that was advertised as brighter and better mimosa and they nailed the description. It was an elevated mimosa that was light, refreshing and bubbly. We started with the wedge salad and potato croquettes. The salad was as phenomenal, the bacon adding the right smoky and savory flavor and the dressings paired well with the fresh crisp lettuce. I was slightly disappointed we didn't have heirloom tomatoes as they were advertised and instead used grape / cherry tomatoes (the menu listing mentioned heirloom and I'm a tomato snob). The Gorgonzola wasn't overpowering and paired really well with the balsamic. The potato croquettes needed a little more seasoning or salt and were somewhat bland but the presentation was terrific and they were cooked perfectly. It might have been the bacon aioli but it just needed a little more zip. For mains my wife went with the Bouillabaisse and asked if she could add a bit of the house made fettuccine to which the chef was very accommodating in making the addition. With wonderful seasoning and an abundant amount of shrimp, scallop, salmon and mussels she couldn't finish her serving. This dish was fragrant and cooked to perfection. I had the filet and it was also amazing. Cooked a perfect medium rare and held amazing flavor. It was a solid and good sized filet that was definitely the star the show. The asparagus was grilled perfectly and seasoned wonderfully. The confit beet was amazing and held terrific flavoring and lended to the beautiful presentation and plating. We really wanted to try the crème brûlée as it looked amazing but we didn't save any room. The service was beyond terrific and Anthony took great care of us from start to finish. We watched the Chef oversee the kitchen and he didn't let a single plate pass through that kitchen without his terrific attention to detail. Overall this restaurant stood out heads and shoulders above other restaurants of similar type and it immediately jumps to the top of the list for fine dining in the Knoxville area. I can't wait to recommend this place to friends and family and this is the first time I wish I could give six stars!

They also have specials on well drinks and draft beer you really can't go wrong for an after work snack and around to drinks over here. one thing to note is that they do take reservations throughout the week, but they do not take reservations for brunch. SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!
