Very easy access off I-40 at Cedar Bluff, you need to turn onto the side street at the traffic light. Then turn right into the business park they are located in. Drive straight until the traffic lane ends, then turn right into the parking lot. They have a good amount of parking with several handicapped spaces. The entrance door is facing Cedar Bluff so if you use a handicapped space you have a little walk to the door. You enter through two sets of doors into a foyer. There is a small bar directly ahead. The hostess station is on the immediate right and the counter to pick up to go orders is on the left. There are only a couple seats for waiting. Our hostess was pleasant and said the wait would be about 20 minutes since they were short staffed. We only had to wait about 10 minutes, and our server came up to take our drink orders almost as soon as we were seated. Our drinks came quickly and we placed our order. The burnt ends came out in about 10 minutes. They were more like cut cubes of meat with little charring. I would have preferred more of a burnt surface, but the meat was tender and the portion plentiful. Hard to complain too much. The brisket and pulled pork combo was good. The brisket was nicely smoked and very tender and moist. The pork was very soft, almost mushy. The flavor was excellent but the texture was hard to get used to. I did eat it all, however. The cornbread muffin was good, as was the potato salad. The beans were fine but nothing special. The chicken and ribs combo was very good. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the chicken had a mild smoke flavor with excellent taste. The mac and cheese was fine. The banana pudding was pretty good. Even though we were told they were short staffed, it did not impact our dining experience. We both had leftovers which turned into an excellent lunch the next day. Famous Dave's provided a solid meal for a good price.

Sat there for more than 15 minutes with no service no water nobody came by to ask us if we needed anything very annoying. Asked to speak with the manager, even spoke with her, and she really didn't seem to. Not busy. Only five cars in the parking lot. Famous Dave's is usually one of our favorites restaurants. The ones in Washington state are great. We were really looking forward to burnt ends. Too bad this particular one was such a disappointment.

Three Meat Platter. BBQ Beef, Sliced Brisket, Roasted Chicken! Mac & cheese and baked beans on the side with a cornbread muffin.

If you ask anyone from Texas what their top choice of barbecue meat is, it will always be the unanimous answer, "brisket"!!! While Famous Dave's has a lot going for it, the brisket was a let down. It's almost like going to a good Mexican restaurant with really bad chips and salsa... It just taints the experience. The serving staff was great! And if you go, ask for Tay's section! The food quality was overall good but not great. The ambience does a good job of putting you in a rural barbecue joint while being in the middle of West Knoxville! I would never steer anyone away from Famous Dave's, but if asked for excellent barbecue, unfortunately; they may have to make their way down to Memphis.

Standard, basic BBQ. Portion size on the pulled pork was good. Gave lots of meat. Came on a Tuesday and there was lunch special from 11-4. $8 for the pulled pork and a side. Much more worth it than paying a full $11. Ribs are decent. Not the best BBQ but would do if you craved it.

They get busy fast, and they won't seat your party until everyone has arrived, so make sure your whole group is there. We had a party of five and started with an order of the fried pickles to share. They were absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful, and gone within minutes. For drinks, I ordered the Darryl Strawberry since it featured bourbon, and I figured I had to enjoy a bourbon cocktail while in Tennessee. It was surprisingly refreshing, balanced, and so good that I ordered a second one. For my meal, I went with the Classic Bacon Burger, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. It was big, juicy, and loaded with the perfect amount of cheese, tomato, bacon, and pickles. Every bite was delicious. Considering how packed the restaurant was, the service was solid. Our waitress had a great sense of humor and joked around with our table, which made the experience even more fun. Since they were so busy, we didn't see her constantly, but she was friendly and took good care of us whenever she stopped by. The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future.
