Bowl of chili with cornbread side

All I could say is, WOW!! Went here for a quick bite before heading to the airport, and was surprised to see that it was also attached to a gas station with lots of cool knock knacks and home items which you could get lost in. We ordered the trio plate with the premium brisket, andouille sausage, and pulled pork, as well as the bowl of chili and some lemonade from the gas station. Reasonably priced, especially with just an extra $1 upcharge for the premium brisket, which was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH tender! Food came out super quick and the workers were all very kind in helping us to order and letting us know about the sauce stations. The place was kept very clean with a patio out back that had plenty of shaded seating. Ambiance was casual and seating was open. Every single food item was cooked perfectly and was decently sized for the price. Again, I highly recommend the brisket. This is a great place for a quick in and out meal with friends and family with just good vibes and amazing food. I'll definitely be back.

Came on a Saturday afternoon after hiking Tom's Thumb. Walked in around 2:45pm. I mention that because they oferten sell out of "moist brisket" (or fatty brisket) around 2pm. Service was very friendly, warm and fast. Ended up getting the chili (w/brisket, pork, beef) and onion rings. Everything was DELICIOUS. What a FANTASTIC spot next to gas station! Don't pass on this one. (Perfect for post-hike meals!!)

My family and I recently dinned here for lunch. To start off most of us got the brisket sandwich and a side of chips. My friend got a pulled pork sandwich. I ordered a side of sweet potato fries and they came out super crunchy and sweet. We all really enjoyed our meals and enjoyed the tenderness of the meat. There was a lot of flavor and the brisket had a bit of fat on it. I ended up getting a super fatty cut, but I heard you can specify slim at the counter. They also had some sweet, sour, and spicy sauces to choose from for your sandwiches, which was really good. Overall, we all really enjoyed our meals and the ambience of the restaurant. We also enjoyed browsing around while waiting for our food and noticing all the fun decorations.

    Brisket sandwich delicious

Stopped in here for barbecue for the first time and really loved the brisket sandwich. It's a fun place to enjoy the ambience of the room. The service took a little longer, but it was because they were preparing the food and it was well worth the weight. All four of us loved the sliders and sandwiches that we ordered. It was well worth coming in and I highly recommend stopping by here if you're nearby.

This place was such a unique experience! My dad has been wanting to try The Thumb for awhile, and we came here for lunch today to celebrate his birthday. My mom and I both got their brisket sandwich, my brother got their hangover dish, and my dad went with the Cuban. The sandwiches are served on thick, grilled Texas toast and come without sauce. There are a few stations throughout where they have sauces available, along with cutlery and napkins (which you will 100% need lol). My mom and I also shared their mac and cheese. One thing I noticed (and really appreciated) was the cheese was *REAL CHEESE*. Like - it was obviously shredded and stringy, and was not some weird sauce from a can. The *only* reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because my food was cold. Maybe it's a personal preference? But I do prefer my food hot. Everyone here was so incredibly nice. From the gal who took our order to the servers who dropped off our food - we were checked on throughout and a manager came by once and checked on us too. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and available if needed. Every single one of us (myself included) needed a to-go box because we had so much food and they gave my dad a free ice cream cone for his birthday. The restaurant is inside of a store that has loads of kitschy things to look at and buy, and there's a gas station out front. I'm not sure what I was expecting coming into this place lol but it was really rad.

I can only vouch for this restaurant through the takeout that our friends purchased for a dinner my friend and I were invited to. There were 5 of us. They purchased 4 (2-3 meat platters), Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket with sides of Mayo Cole claw, Famous BBQ Baked Beans, Potato Salad and a lot of sauces. Each takeout container was presented very nicely. The portions were very big, enough for 5 people plus leftovers. The taste was very good. The meats were juicy. The smoky flavor could of been more though. The Texas Toast and all the sides were excellent along with the sauces and it was all packed up, easy for our friend to drive back home. I did ask my friend how the service was, he said it was good, but because he didn't pre-order, it was a long wait to be expected. Takeout service: good. Food: very good.

    Yes

Does The Thumb BBQ Restaurant sell beer, wine and mixed drinks?

Beer and wine for sure. Not sure about cocktails.

Dirty Pistachio Chai, Hot Chicken Biscuit, Tiramisu Donut, and Ferrero Rocher Cannoli, and Dee's club were all great, but the Bacon Jam Sandwhich on a Panini and Pistachio Macarons shaped as cacti were the stars for my boyfriend and I. The only thing we tried that we didn't love was the Breakfast Sandwhich but not because it was of bad quality, but rather the flavors felt bland compared to the other menu items. Overall, the Sweet Dees team is super friendly, the interior is charming, and the baked goods are great quality. I highly recommend!

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

As a born and raised New Yorker, I take food very seriously... and Italian pastries even more so…read more Just before Christmas, I was traveling from New Yawk (visiting my parents) back to Phoenix to attend a family dinner at my partner's parent's home in Scottsdale. While I was still in NYC with my family on XMas eve eve, it hit me... I need to bring something besides wine everytime I go to their home. Nor a Southern dish. I wanted something unapologetically New Yaek. And what's more New Yawk than a box of classic Italian cookies? After asking a few Yelp friends where to find the best Italian cookies in Phoenix, The Sicilian Baker kept coming up. I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix! Do not walk, runswiftly to this place if you need a gift, a show stopping dessert, or simply want to treat yourself. I cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommended.
