I've been going to other locations of this restaurant for years. I ordered the bone in ribeye and waited patiently for it to come out. When it did, it was overcooked. Waited 15 minutes for another steak, and it was also overcooked, although much less so. For $30, you could hope for better than a 45 minute wait until your steak arrives as ordered, a dry salad and tiny baked potato. They should also consider toning down the birthday celebration, because having your entire wait staff screaming at the top of their lungs really has a way of disrupting a meal, especially when there is more than one in a row. I'll be going back to the Westland location. Management had the opportunity to show me that my Ike was valuable when the check came and not even 10% was taken off of the bill. Went to there Madison Hights Michigan location for my wife's birthday dinner everything was fine till they brought out my wife's ribeye steak and my ribeye they were both cold. When I told the server David they were cold I was ask "what I want him to do" I told him to make us a new steak, he said" I didn't make them!" He took them back and after 25 minutes I ask him where are dinners were he said " this is why he wouldn't have sent them back " and told him I wanted to see a manager. She came over and I explained the situation she apologized. Everyone that was with us were done with there meals when we finally got ours. I will never go to a Texas Roadhouse again or would I recommend them to anyone. They ruined my wife's birthday dinner and that is unforgivable! read more

Just did to go from Texas Roadhouse and usually when doing takeout from a sit down place it is not good. Everything is soggy. But TR surprised my husband and I. The bread was warm, the cactus blossom crispy. The Salads still crisp. I had the Country steak beans and mashed potatos. All very good. Husband had Bacon burger and fries. Fries a little soggy but thats expected. We both had the chilli. Not a fan. Tasted like canned chilli and the crackers were very stale. But all in all would go back. read more

We visited this restaurant on Mother's Day, what chaos! People were lined up outside and the lobby was completely full. Luckily there were just two of us and we didn't mind sitting in the bar. We waited patiently for the hostess to confirm that there were seats available, then headed back. The hostess was great under pressure and very kind. The bar was perfect, there were seats available so we grabbed two and were promptly greeted by one of the bartenders, then given rolls and our drinks arrived quite quickly. We were stunned that we could get seats so quickly and be served so quickly in spite of how busy the restaurant was. I chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews, and those reviews were true. The rolls that are served before your meal are amazing, hot, light, and the cinnamon whipped butter is amazing. We both ordered steak entrées. They came fairly quickly, one was in an enormous prime rib steak, and mine was a much more subdued tenderloin. My tenderloin was perfect, tender and flavorful. It was definitely the highlight of the meal, the sides were OK, but not exceptional. We enjoyed the excitement of sitting at the bar, there was a lot going on so there was not a dull moment. This is our spot for a reasonable meal with superb service EVERYTIME! My Husband gets the Beef Tips or the Roadkill and I usually get the 6 oz. Sirloin or the BBQ Grilled Chicken, everything is phenomenal! I highly recommend the green beans, they're seasoned with a little bacon and onions and so flavorful, if you're from the South they get the beans right!! I actually prefer them over the baked potato now, which is odd because I'm a TOTAL meat and potato gal! Don't forget to ask for extra butter for the rolls, the butter is 1:2 with the rolls. lol! Do yourself a favor and request Doshi or Ashley Z., they never disappoint!! They seriously should write a handbook on how Waitresses are suppose to be. They're super friendly and think ahead with the napkins, drinks and rolls. A MUST SHARE---I was really impressed the last time I was there, I was waiting for my Husband to meet me afterwork and I noticed a table with 3 elderly people looking over the menu. They said "it was their first time there," after a very warm welcome by Doshi, I noticed a Manager came over with small bowls of sides for sampling. In addition to the samples she also gave them a FREE bag of peanuts and a coupon for a FREE appetizer to use next time. And she said warmly "I hope to see you again." Busy, loud, and raucous-the church crowd were jamming a different pew at the Texas Roadhouse, and they were singing the song of beef, glorious steaks, burgers, and fries. We came at noon and were surprised how fast the place filled up, It's a bare bones kind of restaurant. Country music blasting from the speakers, peanut shells on the floor and staff scurrying around. We were seated fast and our server, Tanya, was an expert at getting the fun going! The table had warm rolls and cinnamon butter and a big bucket of peanuts. Menus were in a stand along with steak sauce and ketchup. I had just picked up my sister at the airport and she was treating and wanted steak.Why not, since she was buying! We both ordered the 8 oz. sirloin, medium rare, house salad with blue cheese dressing and the seasoned green beans. The steaks were tender and perfectly cooked. I tried the steak sauce which had a smoky flavor and was pretty good. You could also get your steak smothered with onions, or mushrooms, or cheese. It didn't need it. It was the best steak I've had in a while and plenty enough to have the next day. We had had drinks with the meal and decided to split a dessert. Tanya said the brownies were made in-house and came with ice cream and chocolate sauce. There was more than enough to split and it was really good, with a bittersweet chocolate sauce that really hit the spot! At the end, they gave us a bag of peanuts to take home. This is hands-down the best restaurant chain in existence. I come here all the time with my fiance. Also for any family birthday, graduation, special occasion, etc. LOVE THIS PLACE. Texas Roadhouse has the most tender, delicious ribs in Michigan. Literally "fall off the bone." Very reasonably priced, too. The side salads are yummy, the dinner salads are huge, the rolls are soft and wonderful, the BBQ chicken is mouth-watering, the baked sweet potatoes are a dream...Mmmm. This place is always really busy; waits are typical even at 4pm. You can do a "call ahead" to get your waiting # up to an hour ahead of time, but your can't make reservations. My medium-rare sirloin was cooked til bone-dry, and even the gravy on top didn't help. The only part of the meal that I really enjoyed were the mushrooms on top, because you can't really under-season a mushroom. Don't get me wrong by the beginning of this review. Although I'm not interested in two of the above three, I do love my beef and pork. The Texas Roadhouse is a great place to eat beef and pork. It's loud and it's fun and the staff is overly friendly. After identifying ourselves as first timers here we were bombarded by management giving us offers of free appetizers on our next visit. But now to the food... or first ... the beer. They have a wide selection of beers that are reasonably priced. I'll have a large cold one. For appetizers, as tradition dictates, if they have fried pickles, we must order. Tasty fried pickle chips we quite the surprise. I was going to get a steak for my main dish, but after coaxing and a free rib sample from our server, I chose a combo platter with a sirloin steak and a 1/2 rack of ribs. The steak was cooked as I requested and was one of the more tender cuts of meat that I had recently eaten. As advertised, the meat fell off the ribs until all I had left on my plate as a pile of bones that looked like they had been sandblasted clean. I have to say that I really liked this place. Ok so this 4 star rating is more so about the service and overall experience I had here, because the food was hit and miss. I came here for dinner Friday evening for the first time with friends on 7/17. I got here first and was seated right away. There were 2 hostesses and both were friendly and pleasant. She asked me about my last visit, and I told her it was my first time. She grabbed those amazing biscuits and cinnamon butter and welcomed me with their speech of what they're famous for. Our server came over within a few minutes and took my drink order. I dug into those biscuits so fast! Amazing! Warm, sweet, and that butter! Sooo good. Another person came over (a manager maybe?) and said she heard it was my first time here. She gave me a to-go bag of peanuts with a coupon for a free appetizer on my next visit. Score! AND THEN she came back with a small plate of sides for me to sample! Awesome service. This may not seem like much to some of you that've been to fancy schmancy places, but I'm just a poor girl from Detroit who's used to average service, so this blew me away! The sides were corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, and gravy. The corn was awesome, the potatoes were okay, and I didn't try the green beans or gravy because I'm a pescatarian and didn't want to chance eating any pork or beef. My friends arrived a few minutes later and were all, "What'd you order?" I'm like, "Nothing, they just brought me all this stuff!" Like I said, awesome. We ended up ordering the fried pickles for an app, and they were pretty good. The homemade ranch I could eat gallons of. I'd order the blue lemonade for a drink, and I can't really identify what flavor it was. Not blue raspberry, but something else. Whatever it was, it was good. I ordered the grilled garlic butter shrimp skewers with fries instead of rice, and corn and a side salad as my sides. The shrimp was kind of dry, not enough garlic butter at all. The flavor was just ok. The fries were great, they put some kind of seasoning on it that was really tasty. I knew the corn would be great from my sample, and the side salad was ok, just a salad, ya know? All of us were way too full for dessert, but I'd definitely go back to try the Big Brownie. P.S. Took the family here for Dad's birthday, per his request. Seeing as I used to work in restaurants, I have to compliment Texas Roadhouse on being "by the book". You can tell that they really care about passing the "secret shops" or whatever systems they use to gauge service. The hostess always asks us if we've been here before, tells us about their hand cut steaks, blah blah blah. +1 for her. The server always asks about appetizers, drinks, mentions promotions, all by the book. Of all the times I've been to the Roadhouse, I've only had one instance where I wasn't satisfied- and that was because my salmon wasn't cooked properly. That may be my own fault for often ordering seafood at a steakhouse. This Texas Roadhouse is consistent, and I'm sure I'll be back again. read more

I met a friend here for dinner about a month ago. My daughter and I had to wait about 30 minutes for him to get off work and arrive, but they were ok with that. I never felt rushed or in the way. When my friend arrived, the server came right over and made him feel welcome. It was his first time here and he will definitely come back as well. (Unfortunately he took his daughter's request to go vegetarian for 2 months, so waiting for that time to be over so I can take him back and show him what he's been missing) This is a fantastic Steakhouse and on weeknights, be prepared for a short wait. I wasn't greeted when i walked in even though there were a gang of female employees at the front. They saw me walk in and just stared at me.That was a major turn off for me. I even considered walking out of the restaurant because of that. I was finally greeted by one of the females and given a timer for when my table becomes ready. I came into Texas Roadhouse tonight and sat at the bar with my boyfriend and got a meal. I'm normally not a huge fan of chain restaurants but the service at the bar was amazing! Marquis and John were incredible bartenders and server. Our food was fast and cooked to perfection. They asked for our first names and called us by that the entire meal. I normally try to avoid chain restaurants but I decided to come here since they were offering a free meal for vets on Veteran's Day which is really cool of them to do. They give you fresh baked bread with cinnamon butter as soon as they seat you. I had pretty low expectations coming here so I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Unfortunately everything else was downhill food wise. I got the rattlesnake bites which were ok but nothing special and probably something I could get from the freezer isle at the grocery store. The house salad was pretty meh with iceberg lettuce and bland tomatoes. I got the 6 oz. sirloin cooked medium rare with vegetables on the side. It didn't really have much flavor but was cooked about right. The veggies were pretty awful and probably came from the freezer as well. While the food was average, the service was excellent and the waiter was friendly and attentive. I can't really complain since the food was free but I probably wouldn't eat here again unless I was with my parents, as they love this type of food. read more

You would think that a place with Texas in the name, would know how to cook some catfish, no. It was the worst catfish that I have ever had, soggy and bland. This is my second carry out this month, and I'm so impressed. The food was perfect and everything was included in my carry out bag. The sides were all packaged nicely in separate little containers. I feel this is a great amount of food for 32 dollars, We had so much left over as well. He had a giant 28 oz bone in ribeye with mushrooms, onions and cheese and a shrimp topper with a loaded baked potato and green beans. Oh also the onion blossom. My wife and I dined at Texas Roadhouse on a Friday evening. We arrived at 6:20pm and were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. Not too terrible, considering how busy the waiting area was. Wait was actually 45 minutes. Got seated and ordered drinks and food at the same time - we knew what we wanted. My wife ordered a sweet potato and fried pickles for dinner (not overly hungry). I ordered the NY Strip loaded with mushrooms and onions with a house salad and sweet potato on the side. Waiting for food we realized that we were seated near the bathroom and kitchen entrances. Problem with this area was that the waiters would all stand around and chat amongst each other between servicing tables. Not that they were disrespectful, but considering how noisy the waiting area was with people crowded up and the music, I had hoped there would be enough background noise at our table to drown out conversations 10 feet away - this was not the case. My salad came only 2 minutes before all of our food, so I was 3 bites into my salad when I "had" to stop to eat my steak while it was hot. My wife's fried pickles were "cold" (room temperature) even though we specified that they be brought out with dinner (likely order was put in as an appetizer and just sat). Disappointing mainly because we chose Texas Roadhouse that evening specifically because my wife was craving fried pickles (we called before to verify it was still on the menu). My steak was good, which is what saved the food portion a 4-star review. In Summary: 4 stars for food, 2 stars for service. Would return but with hedged expectations for service. read more

So I order takeout when I got there my order was not ready so I had to wait like 45miMs. once I got my meal and made it home which is like 15mins away. I took my food out preparing to eat it my sides was nice in temperature but my steak was cold. I warmed up my steak and proceeded to eat it which it was a 12oz ny strip. The steak was not easy to cut into and it was chewy. so I just ate the sides and called back up to Texas Roadhouse spoke to a manager that I felt could have been better with understanding that I was dissatisfied with my steak. She told me to bring the steak all the way back up there and they will make another as if I didn't already wait 45mins + for my first meal so I responded I can not do that she then responded well I can't give you another meal I told her I wasn't looking for another meal just a steak that's done and tender I paid for the first one. She then stated well I will send you a coupon in the email on file and hung the phone up as if she was mad. I usually dont have an issue but this grinder my gears. so I hope they train the managers better way to speak to customers read more

I'm actually about 3 and a half stars, if only because the two things I cared about were really good. We took my girlfriend's mother out for mother's day here since this is her favorite place. It started with a discussion about when to go, this being mother's day and all. We were worried about getting in, so it was agreed to that we'd go after church, and while they were in church I'd go at 12 and get a table. We had heard it was a two hour wait on Mother's day, and while I can't speak for the rest of the day, it wasn't true. I got there at 12 and got seated right away, and even as of leaving at 1:30 it wasn't much of a wait. So I think you can go but just be prepared for a bit of time before seating. They do not take reservations and no wait list. I want to thank our waiter who did everything right. I told him I was waiting for the rest of my party and after bringing me a beer, he left me alone till they showed up. He also was attentive without being intrusive. I got the feeling the whole restaurant was like that and handled the crowd well. Great service! As for the food, I'll start by saying I'm not a steak house guy. I like steaks fine but going for steak, ribs and all that with the baked potato and salad is not my thing, so take this with a grain of salt. They have this cinnamon butter, which was great with the hot rolls but by the time I'm eating my vegetables has worn thin. The version of the bloomin' onion is fantastic and I just about filled up on that, but the catfish I ordered was awesome. It was cooked right and had a crispy cornmeal finish that was delicious, and their tartar is a little different than standard and I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed my beer which was cold and fresh. I thought the steak fries and veggies were completely forgettable. My girlfriend enjoyed her salmon and sweet potato and her mom thought the ribs were a tad dry. So, overall, a pretty good job and good food and I won't mind going next year on mom's day. read more

This is a solid steak house! This is the only Texas Roadhouse that I have been to so I can't really compare it to any other ones. But the steaks are solid and worth the money! Get a side of sweet potato with all of the topping too! One of the best things here is the hot fresh bread you get....it's simply amazing with the buttery cinnamon spread.
