My wife and I went into this Texas Roadhouse this evening to open our envelope and see what we won. A sidekick of ribs. Ok that is cool, HOWEVER. I began reviewing the bill on the kiosk after having the meal and noticed that they did not provide a credit for that item. They also charged us extra for a Jamaican Cowboy drink like we had a kicker. Our waitress eventually came to our table for me ask her to fix the discrepancies since we had a coupon and did not get a "kicker" for our drink. She began arguing with us. She sent a manager over who also started arguing with us. I told her that they could either fix the bill or we would leave. She sent another manager over. I told her the same thing to either fix the bill and give us credit for the coupon and us not having a "kicker" or they would lose us as a loyal customer since they opened. She did not take care of the problem. I told her that they have lost us as a loyal customer for 20 years. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

When I placed my order online I was informed my order would be ready at 5:10. I arrived at the store at 5:00. 5:15 rolled around and my order had not come out. I did not receive my order until 5:53. During the entire process I asked 3 different young ladies if they could check to see what was going on. They said yes and not one of them returned to inform me what was taking so long. I finally had to get out of my car and go to the to go window to figure out where my food was. I was told they would check and come out to my spot. Another 8 minutes went by so I had my husband go to the window. He stood out there and waited another few minutes. When he finally got our food it wasn't correct my steak was cold. We went Saturday night and it was not good. I ordered my steak Medium well and it was brought out Medium Rare. They took it back and brought it out charred and beyond Well done. One of THE best steakhouses I've visited in the Midwest. Even on a Thursday night, they were PACKED at 7pm. Sat for 20 minutes mingling with the nicest folks there (while munching complimentary peanuts!). The HOT buns and special butter were selfish. If you're the type that has a difficult time hearing in a loud environment, stay away from Texas Roadhouse. The country music always is on at a high level and that forces every conversation to be elevated which adds even more to the ambient noise ..... and it just goes on from there. And this is one of those awful "singing birthday" places that forces a complete stop at any ATTEMPT at talking until the yelling beforehand and the singing is finished. Throw in some screaming young kids being ignored by their parents and you have a virtual madhouse. That said, the food beats their most direct competitor, Lone Star, hands down. It also is better than Logans, Outback and other franchise steak places around the area. The seasoning on the beef is very much to our liking, the salads are crisp and fresh, and the rolls are freshly-baked and buttered. Here's a tip if your party is over 18 and it's crowded: Check the seats in the bar area. Often seating is available there, but the hostess will never tell you so. Just check it out and seat yourself there. Nothing a bit fancy or pretentious about Texas Roadhouse. It's a jeans, t-shirt and ballcap type of crowd. The consistency of this place is amazing from Anchorage Alaska to Tulsa Oklahoma. Other chain restaurants could really learn a thing or two from their training platform. The food is always pretty good. The service is always on point especially for a place that always seems to be packed. Our server Benjamin was incredible. I realize their there to make tips but to do that without making you feel like just another customer is really something to behold. I like the ambiance and how loud it is so that you don't feel like you have to keep it whisper. We basically love all locations, but the people at this one have been great so far. It's ALWAYS crowded, be prepared for an hour wait. This is true for all locations. We usually sit at the bar to avoid the wait. I used to think that service at the bar at a restaurant is worse than waiting for a seat, but its completely opposite here. The people behind the bar have been great and really quick. The food is consistently amazing. I recommend the ribs! They fall off the bone and have wonderful flavor. Want to say upfront that our waitress and the food were perfectly fine. Our problem (like many other reviewers) was with the staff at the door. We got there, walked in, and asked for a table for 2. The lady spoke so fast that I have no idea what she said (it's also super loud in the restaurant). I said "I'm sorry, I didn't hear that, could you repeat it?" She rolled her eyes and said again, very fast, something about a window outside. I thought I must have misheard her because why would we go outside (it's cold and nighttime) but we walked outside anyway. There were two closed windows outside and we had no idea what to do when the window suddenly opened. The lady asked me if I was on a list and I said I have no idea , I was just told to come out here. She also heavily rolled her eyes, sighed loudly, and asked for my phone number and name. She said I'd get a text when our table was ready and then slid the window shut in my face. Came here with the wife. Had the Texas blossom for an appetizer, good but not as good as outback. Has too much batter. Also ordered a side salad with no eggs but they brought one with eggs. Had it returned but never received a new one. When they brought our entrees, I had the porterhouse, I told the waitress about the salad and had her bring a side order of corn. My sister got a baked potato, as did my mom. One potato was very nice looking, with butter only. Th other one had sour cream, bacon, and cheese, but the potato was hard and barely warm. The cheese wasn't anywhere near melted. The steaks were good, the ribs were gross, and the chicken had good flavor, but was very mushy. The pickle chips were ok, but extremely salty. Our server was pretty poor. Very absent, and didn't interact with us at all, not a greeting or introduction. She didn't take any glasses away after we had to wave her down for refills. My table mates also liked the prime rib and vegetarian meals. Rolls were delicious. Everyone else liked the sweetened butter; I prefer just plain butter on my roll. Asking whether a diner prefers sweet or regular (like they do for iced tea) would be nice. While not a gourmet restaurant, this place deserves 5 stars for its superior food for a national chain. If you are looking for a quiet, upscale ($$$) fancy place try Alabastar Grill in Owasso but if you are looking to take the family out, good time, good food and good prices, a laid back atmosphere - this is a good trade up from the standard Outback, Lonestar and Logans ... Take advantage of the call ahead seating if you are more than 2 - this allows quick seating and very little waiting. Yes, much like Logans this is one of those places that tosses peanut shells on the floor, much like Lonestar and Logans, this is a place that likes it's music. But neither of which was ever bothersome to me. If you would prefer a place that doesn't have much of either, stick to Outback. The butter and rolls are awesome - great sweet tea - good steaks - good menu variety - and great kids options. In this area just about anywhere under $50 a person is going to have an abundance of teenage servers. That's anywhere. This isn't my first choice for steak but certainly not our last choice either.
