The fire-roasted carrots with whipped tahini were unreal. Tender without being mushy, smoky, and absolutely packed with flavor. I ate most of the plate and regret nothing. The empanadas were buttery, soft and flaky with a chimichurri sauce I would've happily put on everything. My Campfire Atlantic Salmon was the star--perfectly cooked with this incredible smoky, citrusy flavor that carried through the whole plate. Even the kale had me excited, which feels like an accomplishment. The artichoke au gratin was creamy, loaded with artichokes, and had a great crunchy texture on top. Portions are generous enough that my dinner became lunch the next day. Our table also tried the filet, pasta, and another salmon. Everyone was happy. I sampled the crab-and-corn pasta--it was good, just not personally my thing. The filet was tender with a glaze my friend loved, although I'd probably order mine without it. Parking isn't the greatest, especially on the weekends, so you can utilize the valet service located in front of The Tavern. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, so we had our own private room. I'm not sure of the price to reserve a private room, so you would need to call and verify that. The menu isn't very extensive, and this is definitely a more expensive restaurant, so I would personally save it for special occasions. If you have a special diet or dietary restrictions, there may not be a ton of options, so I'd recommend calling ahead to ask before making a reservation. For food, I had the porterhouse steak, which is meant to be shared rather than an individual serving. It was definitely a generous portion because I still had enough to take leftovers home! I also ordered the potatoes and Brussels sprouts as my sides. All of the sides are a la carte, so keep that in mind when looking at the menu and pricing. They also had a salmon special while we were there, although I'm not sure if that is something they offer regularly or if the special changes throughout the year. The ambiance gives major speakeasy vibes and is really nice. The lights are dim, and they even had a man playing the piano for a set amount of time while we were there, which added to the experience. If you're coming with a group, just know that there will most likely be a 20% gratuity added to your bill. Overall, such a great experience, and I will definitely be coming back for a special occasion in the future!

Holy cow. Gracie was our server tonight and that was one of the most horrendous experiences I've had at a restaurant. Her attitude is out of this world. It was my boyfriend's birthday and we went specifically for his birthday so he could ride the saddle. We called and asked before we went, as well as made sure to ask Gracie to confirm that they still do the saddle and I told her it was his birthday. Within 30 seconds before even sitting down to situate, she asked us if we were ready to order. No "hello" or "how are you". Literally not even a smile. Within 3 minutes of sitting down, she asked if we "know what we want yet". No smile, no eye contact, only complete attitude. It was clear she wanted to not be seated so she was trying to rush us so she could go home. It was 2 hours before close but she acted like we came in 10 minutes before close. She was giving us very dirty looks our entire dinner. Myself, my boyfriend and his parents are very quiet people and we all noticed it before we discussed it. Nearing the end of the meal where the saddle would come out, Gracie just asks us if we're paying cash or card. The "happy birthday" and the saddle didn't happen. We did absolutely nothing for her to treat us like she did and we were all pretty blown away at the service she gave us. It's clear she hates her job. I've been in the restaurant industry for 10+ years so I give people lots of grace while dining out. And I would never give 2 stars just for service but I feel this is deserved. I've consistently had poor service at the Texas Roadhouse location on 71st and Memorial when picking up orders. The staff at the pickup window seem disorganized and inefficient. Only one waitress handles orders, asking for a customer's name, disappearing to retrieve a single order, and leaving the rest of us waiting. Meanwhile, several other staff members stand idly by, rather than assisting or moving the line along. This causes unnecessary delays and frustration. Unfortunately, this lack of efficiency and customer care has led me to stop tipping for takeout, and I'm seriously considering no longer ordering from this location. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the experience for pickup customers. read more

I was a bit skeptical as costs at casinos can be pricey and reviews were mixed. It in we went. But, at the end of the evening, I was pleasantly surprised. Pricing was moderate. Each plate we had was under $20. Now we're weren't eating steaks, but reasonable. I had the Cuban sandwich - packed full of pulled pork and shaved ham, pickles and chz. The only thing I would have left off was the mustard mix they had on it - had a bite of horseradish in it and I don't like horseradish. FFs were extr crispy as I asked for. Lots of food. One of the others had a huge chicken fried steak w/ mashed potatoes, cream gravy and green beans. The CFS was huge - hung off the platter. He never even got to the green beans. And the meat wasn't paper thin - nice thick cut. The other vuy had the grilled pork chop. It was probably 3/4" thick. He said it was excellent. So to my reservations about Fireside Grill, all gone. Good food. Good value. Good service. Just wish I had taken some pics.

Spend a little more at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for a much better steak. Stick with the cheaper entrees which actually are their highlights. I wanted to point out the excellent service. My server explained to me about the 15% discounts with a player's club card and offered to call host to see whether they could comp my dinner which I accepted. Why not right? Guess what, they comped my EARNED dinner which I had a strong inclination that they would.

They didn't make it right so I hadn't been back for 23 years. (51st Sheridan was the one that disappointed.) It's still open! They didn't need me.

The potatoes were the star of the show! They are loooaded with bacon and cheese and make you want to go back for more. (You can't because you're so full from the large helping you just ate.) I'll probably order seafood next time. So exciting that there are actual GF choices! We enjoyed the food but LOVED the staff. The hostess that took our reservation talked to me quite a while about gluten-free and wrote my allergies with our reservation. Our waiter was one of the best waiters we've ever had. If you get a chance sit in Michael's section. He will give you great service and also entertain you for the evening. They ensured we had a great evening and who doesn't want that? The owner even came by at the end to see how everything was and yes, you're right...he was very friendly! We will definitely be returning.
