Great food! I love the rolls and peanuts that are offered at the beginning. I got the grilled salmon with a house salad and baked potato. The salmon was perfect, I ordered bleu cheese dressing with my salad and it tasted like it was made in house which is always a plus and the baked potato was nice although I felt like it needed more butter and sour cream as there was hardly even a teaspoon full. All in all, the food was delightful. My only complaint was the service - while prompt, our server called us sweetie, darling, sweetie pie and every other pet name and felt the need to touch both my shoulder and my husbands every time she came to our table. I know some people appreciate this but I feel it's unprofessional and crosses boundaries. read more

We absolutely had a 5-star dinner here tonight. The service from beginning to end was excellent. We did call ahead seating and were seated about 5 minutes after we arrived, even though the restaurant was currently at a 60-75 minute wait. Our waitress was attentive and we didn't have to ask for anything the entire time we were there. Our party had a collection of different dishes - prime rib, smothered chicken, oven roasted half chicken, green beans, steak fries, baked potato, and side salads. Everything was fresh and incredibly flavorful. And the rolls!!! The fresh baked rolls with cinnamon butter are other-worldly! We have been to other Texas Roadhouse locations, but the Winchester location is by far the best yet. read more

We had eaten here a couple of times with reasonably good results. Noisy, it's not a place to go for a quiet meal. But you know to expect that going in. Bring earplugs if you want quiet. We had a gift card and tried to use it several times but each time was faced with 30-45 min wait times. The food has to be exceptional to wait for the restaurant to turn over. We kept coming back to use the gift card,it wasn't worth it. We ordered their world famous ribs and Dallas filet. What a mistake. The ribs were so dry it was eating leather. All the moisture had been drawn from the meat during their 3 day preparation and then was covered with a sweet sauce. Altogether disappointing. Can not recommend the ribs. I don't know how you can mess up steak but the filet was also dry and tasteless. It was cooked to medium as ordered . I realize a filet is a very lean cut and that is why you often find them wrapped in bacon to help the meat with moisture. You would think a place that specializes in steaks would understand that. Wrong. Can not recommend the filet. Our server was very nice and friendly. A previous review mentioned the female servers attire, it does border on being Hooteresque. And they wear shirts professing to love their job. They might but what does the unhappy employee wear? I love this place! I have to eat here every time I fly out to visit my sister. I don't eat meat so cannot comment on that aspect but every non-meat dish I have tried has been great. I always eat too much when I dine here lol. The margaritas with the kickers are really good drinks and are a good deal, they're pretty strong. What stands out the most to me are the employees. They have been absolutely amazing with service every time I have visited. I am a bit picky with expected levels of service, to be quite honest, probably because I used to eat out every single day. Picky, but not rude, I understand how stressful and unrewarding a service industry job can be. That being said, when I receive great service it is what really stands out for me because it can make or break your experience. We took our parents to dinner and had a party of seven. The wait was estimated to be an hour but ended up being about 25 minutes. The waitress was nice but forgot to bring one of the apps we ordered. I had the 10 oz Ft Worth ribeye with a medium cook and a baked potato and mixed vegetables for sides. The steak and potato arrived at just above room temperature. The vegetables (broccoli and carrots) were forgotten and brought later but we're hot when they arrived. All around the food was very average and not what I expected. Unfortunate. read more

Texas Roadhouse used to be one of my favorite places to eat. My family found this location today and will never be back. There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon and the waiter was genuinely pleasant. Honestly, there's not much more positive. We received another tables food... twice. The waitstaff was incredibly immature and unprofessional, standing in groups talking about parties and who was "hooking up with who." Gross. And when we finally received our food it was absolutely awful. I'm usually not one to complain but it was all really terrible. Caesar salad tasted like miracle whip, pickle chips were dripping with grease and seemed more like salt licks, the sirloin and the prime rib had no flavor (just salt), my sweet potato was ordered with butter but when I got it it was gooey for some reason and tasted sour, and the mashed potatoes had bacon chunks in them that were trying to break teeth. We usually eat at a Texas Roadhouse location while on vacation because it is consistently good; so, we were happy to see that one opened in Winchester. Our server was sweet and provided great service. The atmosphere is fun and noisy. The cooks at this location are heavy handed with the salt. The batter on the onion blossom was salty. The steaks (ribeye and NY Sirloin) were grilled to perfection and tender and moist, but again, heavy on the salt. My green beans, cooked with bacon or ham hocks, were overly salty, too. If you are on a sodium restricted diet, I advise you to order your steak lightly seasoned. Also, if you have a peanut allergy, avoid this chain restaurant altogether, because they serve complimentary peanuts in the shell at every table. I happen to love peanuts, and it is fun to crack 'em and eat 'em at your leisure before, during, and after your meal. They offer call-ahead seating. So, if you plan ahead and call before you leave your home, you will have a minimum wait once you arrive. read more

I'm usually a Texas Roadhouse faithful and advocate, however the experience I had at this Texas Roadhouse was pretty disappointing. I ordered the beef tips and at first it came out looking like a slab of steak someone had savagely cut into instead of the normally uniformed cubed beef tips. I also noticed I had no gravy and when I asked I was informed they ran out of gravy. I tried to then change my order to the buffalo wings but was informed they ran out of those too. My mom's beef tips were also not cooked to how she requested them to add insult to injury. I understand mishaps happen however it seemed they don't have it all together here. read more

We have visited Texas Roadhouse in Winchester twice now. Both times with our 3 year old son, who hates to eat out. This is one of the few places we can go that keeps our son amused the whole time, so we actually get to eat. Our servers both times were phenomenal, but I can only remember the name of the second "Moriah". I had pulled pork both times, and it was a tad dry, but just ask for more sauce. We got tons of bread both times, and the sides are YUMMY. My husband had the ribs, and they literally fell off the bone. He loves it and it is definitely a place we always consider when taking the little man out to eat. He even likes the food, and this kid is picky! read more

This place was amazing as we were out and about just shopping and wanted a sit down restaurant to eat at. The staff was very accommodating to me having to be in a wheelchair and bringing up to the table. It would have been 5 stars if my mashed potatoes weren't slightly cold. The steak was very good. The only reason I'm giving a two star today is because I just witnessed a staff member use the same towel she cleaned the table with two also clean one of the plates that she was placing on the table for a new customer. I'm guessing the plate wasn't totally clean or had water spots or something, but the fact that she used the same towel that she just cleaned the table with is disgusting. Had the worst out to eat dinner I've ever experienced in my life. It started with an insect in one of our dining partners salads. Then two steaks were absolutely blue rare that were ordered medium to go along with a cold prime rib and a tough ribeye. At that point I asked to speak to the manager. It took way too long for him to get there and when he did he showed up with one of the steaks that had to be recooked he never announced himself as the manager and I had to ask if he was. I asked him if he was there to talk to us about our meal and he said he could??? When I explained the situation, he said he was comping our meal. Then we received the bill for 50% off the trash we were served. At that point I called and left a message for their customer care line (closed on the weekends). I received a call back with apologies and a promise to have the store I ate it contact me. It's been a week and I haven't heard a thing. Extremely poor service and quality all the way around Texas Roadhouse, you should be ashamed. I've eaten at your restaurant at least 50 times in my life for business and personal and won't be back. This place is the bomb dot com. Me and my husband go here for special celebrations (when he proposed, when I finished my first week of teaching, anniversaries, and birthday parties). We are NEVER disappointed. We have had to wait upwards of an hour to be seated on Saturday nights because the place is PACKED. But if you go any other time, you generally get seated right away or within 10 minutes upon your arrival. We have never used the call ahead seating on the app, but that is an option as well. The service is always quick and the steaks are always cooked to perfection. Their Cactus Blossom puts Outback's bloomin' onion to shame and the customer service is just on point. Highly recommend if you are looking for an awesome steakhouse. Just remember, it's on the pricy side! PS- they pour their drinks heavy which is nice when you pay $8 for a margarita! read more

I came into this establishment on a busier evening, was seated by the hostess, and was placed with my wife at a table in the area of a waitress who was clearly unaware that we had been placed at that table. After 30 minutes, I approached the "manager" I believe named "Ed". I stated It had been roughly 30 minutes since I was seated, and had yet to be waited upon. He immediately confronted a young waitress who was clearly overwhelmed with her already significant work load. He was condescending, rude, and wildly unprofessional towards her. With his poor demeanor, he carried himself as a insecure misogynistic individual continually talked down upon female waitress, in front of the poor girls coworkers. He made borderline sexual advancements, and carried out sexist statements towards the female waitress. She was near tears as the other waitresses stood in awe. This poor girl did nothing wrong, but was publicly "dressed down" by a middle aged man with "little man syndrome". I will not be returning to this establishment!! read more

My friend and I dine here about every 6 months. We're from Front Royal. We always have good service and a good experience, however, this time was excellent. This is our "go-to" when we want a casual steak dinner. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is because it gets quite messy, loud and not being open for lunch I just can't give anything higher than 3. We tried the call ahead seating and still had a 43 minute wait. My husband and I generally only go when we want an early dinner and on those days we arrive when the door opens, any other time you should expect a long wait. Texas Roadhouse is our favorite steak house in Winchester, VA. They serve the most consistently good steak we have found (after living here for over two years). The ribs are good, not melt-in-your-mouth good, but better than most. The side salads are consistent and generous in the ingredients (a real treat when some restaurants are going to lettuce with a few slivers of carrots and a couple croutons). We have never had a meal we thought was bland or poor, so be bold and order whatever appeals to you. Iced tea is always fresh and pure (no side coffee tastes here!). The atmosphere is fun, but loud. They set out peanuts for snacking while you wait, so beware if you have allergies! Because of the popularity of Texas Roadhouse wait times vary widely. All too often when a restaurant has a good thing and people wait 20-60 mins to get in constantly, they start to slide downhill. My family loves this restaurant I think it's Ok. They have never had a problem with their food or steaks once the new manager took over. I for some reason have the worst luck when I order a steak it isn't cooked right or is very fatty (I order sirloin for the lower fat). We typically eat at the Chantilly location and have had mixed results at this Texas Roadhouse. I've found that you need to stick to the steaks as they can't cook a burger to temperature. We went for lunch once and I ordered my burger medium rare. Knowing that sometimes chain restaurants have problems cooking burgers, I asked them if they could and they assured me they could pull it off. The first burger was overcooked, the replacement bloody raw. To their credit they comped me for it, and when we went back for dinner they cooked my steak perfectly. read more

Been here about 12 times so far, for lunch and dinner service. The place reminds me of the old chain "Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon" complete with the peanuts on the floor, and staff line dancing every 15 mins. Lunch service was 80% perfect! the other 20% had problems with getting food out on time and sometimes wait staff went missing for extended periods of time. If you have to ask when your food is coming, then it has been too long. The food is great, just what you would expect from a good chain steakhouse. Portions are slightly above average, which works great for doggie bags. The only real disappointing experience was when I called ahead for a party of 10. I called at 4pm on a Saturday, and we were ready to eat. Spoke to the manager and they gave me 2 options, 6:30 or 7:30, I picked the earliest, she said to arrive @ 6:20, so we did. They were busy, as expected, so I went to the host stand, to check in. We were told that they could seat us in about 1hr and 10 mins, but if we wanted to split up the group, it would only be about 40 mins.... Needless to say, we left. All in all a good eatery, but if you have a party more than 6, then don't bother here, it's not gonna happen. Call ahead seating is a must, just hope they get a better handle on it. read more
