Got a spa pedicure with a design. The design was so-so and the person who did my nails put my shoes on before my nails were dry and smudged my $35 pedicure, even though I asked for spa sandals while they dried. A waste of a pedicure and an unprofessional environment. read more

I was not impressed. I did not get what I asked for. I wanted light gray and silver glitter shellac. Nail tech insisted on using a purple or lavender color, which I refused more than once. I ended up with gunmetal and multi-color glitter shellac. I was very unhappy but I paid and even gave a tip. After getting home and seeing my nails in better light (the salon is way too dark), I realized it was absolutely not what I wanted, so I went back the following day and got them "fixed." Sadly, I didn't get my light gray nails but it was better then the first attempt. I won't be going back. read more

I have come to Texy off and on since it's opening and usually have a good experience....however, today, Mother's Day no less, was absolutely awful. Though I usually see Kevin, he just quit, so I requested Tiffany who I've seen before and has gotten pretty good reviews. NOT TODAY. She was rough, burned me twice and did not apologize, caught the edge of my nail and it broke, spoke twice only to me "what color you want" and "what shape you want" the entire rest of the hour I spent here the women spoke around the room with each other instead of to their clients. Not a one offered so much as a water to their clients. IT IS MOTHERS DAY! Oh and there's a ton of competition out here, so they've lost my business. WOW. I am out of words. This place is by far the best nail salon I have been to in a while. The service there was amazing. Tiffany, my nail tech, did a fabulous job on me. I got the Texy Delux Pedicure and it was amazing! It came with hot stones that Tiffany massaged into my calves and relieved all the stress I had from cleaning my house. She painted my toes this beautiful purple color and she even drew a flower on it for me. I recommend this place for anyone who wants to be treated right. read more

This was the second time for me to give Texy Nails a try. I usually go to another local salon, but was super short on time, so I decided to try here again. I visited almost a year ago, had some issues with the polish chipping immediately, but the owner was quick to make sure I got this repaired and to make sure that I was a satisfied and happy customer. She's terrific. This salon offers a wide range of colors and shellac, which is a plus. My only complaint this time was that the technician hurried through my visit and the shellac polish on my toes needed at least one more coat. The ends were also not smoothed and there's bubbling on one of the nails.For the price that you pay for Shellac, it's a bit disappointing. Needless to say, I'll be going back to my regular salon. Shame on me for going elsewhere. read more

Went here last week while the guys played a second round of golf at Randolph. Although quite busy, they were able to get me seated at a pedicure chair and soaking while the tech got prepped for me. Very nice, clean place with a spa atmosphere. The Tiffany Blue ceiling with the crystal chandelier is aesthetically appealing. The tech also did a great job for the young girl seated next to me: pink polka dots on her mint green toe nails! Good nail color selection. They keep the selection fresh and up to date. I am in the military, new to this area, and called to make an appointment for a pedicure. I was informed Texy Nails offered a 10% military discount. I thought that was great and visited the salon two days later. When I went to pay and the 10% discount was not applied, I was told "you have to be on duty and I when I asked what is on duty considered, they rudely replied, in uniform". First of all, AD military are on duty 24/7, 365 and secondly, I have never gone to any salon to get a pedicure, in my ABUs. When I let them know the gentleman I spoke to two days earlier told me there was a 10% military discount, they again repeated, "only on duty". I have never heard of anything so ludicrous and being assigned to an area which was recently titled, "Military City USA", this place is certainly not military friendly. Right from the start, the receptionist was rude and simply told me, "have a seat, no hello, how are you this evening". Other than myself, there were only 2 other patrons in this salon. The rest of the staff had their faces stuck to their phones and continued to go outside to smoke. In closing, I posted a picture of my $34.00, 30-minute pedicure...I don't think so, and I couldn't even tell you who created this mess...she never introduced herself! read more

I have been here twice since it opened. They always greet me and her me a drink (free) if I'd like one, which I got a margarita the first time (great) and wine the second. They have the largest variety of colors, especially in shellac. My nail tech was amazing....my pedicure (not shellac) is still amazing and it's been a couple of weeks. I normally get my nails done by Tiffany, but she was on vacation so when I made the appointment on a Friday for Saturday at 1030 I asked for Angel. When I arrived I was told that she hasn't come in yet so I waited for about 15 minutes. Finally the receptionist told me she wasn't coming in until 12. I was not happy. So a guy whose name I don't know did my nails. He worked quickly which was impressive until I took a better look at them outside. Some of them were lopsided. Then the next morning my thumb nail had chipped. MIND YOU THIS IS GELL!!! THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED, especially the very next day!! I was not happy. I am new to the San Antonio area and I have had the same nail lady for about 2 years so maybe my expectations were just to high but... I thought I would try this place out since it was close to my house. I do the dip nails and there wasn't a lot of colors to choose from so that was my first red flag. Then some guy started doing my nails, he was nice and very talkative, he stopped in the middle of doing my nails because they needed to "soak" more to get the dip off (he already had gotten all of it off) he came back smelling like cigarettes and he nails were so dirty my second red flag. He ended up doing my nails really good and just how I liked them so I brushed it off, now, here I am 5 days later, 5 broken nails. FIVE???? I have NEVER had this happen to me before. So disappointing. I hate writing reviews like this but I know some people are very picky about their nails especially since you pay 50+ for them. Go else where, find better. read more

New to the area and looking for a new place locally to get my nails done. Did a little research online and Texy Nails was rated pretty well. Went in today as a walk in to get a shellac manicure. It is a Saturday, but no one else was in the waiting room when I got there or when I left, so I was happily seated right away. I was a bit disappointed by how dirty the work station was with other peoples nail filing dust and clippings, but was happy to watch him open a package of tools. I was in and out in 25 mins. Is that a good thing? In this case no! What was my natural beautiful long nails are now rather short and all different lengths. I specifically asked to just clip a little off. I could possibly overlook this one issue if it was the only issue but for some reason I got the "rush job." The other major problem being the clear coating is caked onto the skin on the sides of my fingers and at this point several hours after paying for this poor service, one finger is already peeling off and it is very apparent several others will be doing the same. UPDATE...went back a few days later to see if they would fix my nails since at that point all but 3 nails were peeling off. The lady that helped me was very understanding about the situation, recognized that my nails were polished on to the skin and did an AMAZING job redoing them. Wish I had seen her the first day, it would have been a totally different experience. I will make future appointments with her! read more
