I called Extreme Plumbing for a backed up sewage system which had overflowed into our shower and…read moremaster bathroom. Alen was our main contact, although the entire team worked hard to restore our system as quickly as possible. Initially, I thought the problem just needed a rooter to clear the blockage like it has in the past. The initial quoted price was for the rooter, and I was told the price would not change without discussion. If only it had been that simple. As things go, the problem was more complicated, and they could not clear the drain. Bad news. After some discussion and an adjusted price, the next step was to use the sewer camera which resulted in determining there were some blockages that could not be cleared. It turned out that the sewer line had issues with two trees in our front yard; their roots were collapsing the original terracotta sewage line. The camera revealed 2 collapsed sections which needed repair and holes would need to be dug; in total, 60' of sewer line needed replacement. Another adjusted, reasonable price was given. Additional complications came up but Alen and his team handled them with determination. In the end, 3 other inside drains needed to be snaked or rooted out as a result of the initial blockage. All done, the cost, while substantial, was as expensive as expected, and it included a warranty. We will be doing a kitchen renovation in the near future, and will be using Extreme Plumbing for that and all our plumbing needs going forward. Alen was very courteous and professional during the whole process.

I wasn't sure who it was because it was so late and the caller ID said "Pro TV Mounting Same Day..." I figured it was him because then he sent me a message on Yelp that night saying "I tried calling and no one answered". I messaged him to schedule a call at a time that was more reasonable. No answer. Then the same number called during a Sunday afternoon. I asked again to please just schedule the call. When I called at the scheduled time, he sounded almost half asleep on the phone (sorry I woke you up!) and I tried explaining clearly what was wrong with the issue and he said repeatedly, "why don't you just call the people who originally installed it". I mentioned I was unhappy with their work and wanted someone else. He clearly was unfamiliar with what was going on and didn't know basic terminology for installation of doors. Never asked for a guarantee, but I just wanted someone who had a more experienced and expert installation history. He then got upset when I indicated I wouldn't be using his services because he sounded like he didn't know what was going on for the project and I preferred not to pay $80 since all other handymen come to do an assessment for free so they can accurately set expectations for themselves and the customer and there isn't disappointment on either side. He literally started raising his voice on the phone because I was trying to ask his professional opinion and gather more info on what he thought was going on. Maybe he was having an off day because he seemed to get frustrated with what I thought were common questions. It seemed like he just wanted to get me off the phone and do the $80 in-person assessment. So the "phone consultation" part doesn't seem like a real thing. Again, I told him "no problem that's your policy and I appreciate your time" but I will go in a different direction Unprofessional and also seemed to have limited skills for certain simple jobs and really is focused on TV mounting or other things (I mean the phone number ID says Pro TV install"). Again, that's totally ok, but don't get upset when a customer would prefer a different option. And be careful! He then tried repeatedly harass and called me several times after now from a hidden number! He had to be reported to Yelp! It seems like this guy generally has good reviews, but this seemed very unusual and concerning. Just take a look at all the other 1-star reviews. They all talk about the SAME exact issues: calling at inappropriate times, rude/unprofessional, harassing calls, incorrect skills listed, (even being asleep, ha!), etc. There is a clear negative pattern here, but other people seemed to find benefit so up to you based your exact situation.

So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. At that time, our real estate agent had already recommended several contractors, but we quickly ran into basic issues - some didn't respond to messages, some provided quotes that sounded outrageous without any breakdown, and communication overall felt unreliable. Alec was different from the very beginning. When he first came to our house, he listened more than he talked. He was the only contractor who not only walked through the space but also took careful measurements before providing a quote. His original quote was already reasonable, and more importantly, he honored it. There were no surprise bills or unexpected add-ons. What impressed us even more was his communication. No matter when we messaged him, his responses were always timely, clear, and respectful. I was only able to visit about once a week, but the progress Alec and his crew made each week was so consistent that I felt comfortable being more hands-off and focusing on my job. Communication was another huge highlight. I have heard plenty of contractor horror stories, but Alec was the complete opposite. He communicated clearly and proactively, and he was passionate about educating me on important things a homeowner should know, including existing electrical and plumbing conditions and other details that could have easily been overlooked. Most importantly, Alec is compassionate. Once he learned this was our first house and our first renovation, he genuinely wanted to make sure we ended up with a beautiful home, and he absolutely delivered. I'm truly grateful for all of his effort and would gladly work with him again for future projects.

We worked with Skyline on a garage/JADU conversion, a major kitchen/laundry/bathroom remodel, and a living/family/dining room refresh. Across all three, Eric and his team consistently delivered excellent results. Our projects involved everything from structural, electrical, and plumbing work to detailed finish work, and Skyline managed all aspects seamlessly. What stands out most is Eric's communication and project management. He is highly responsive and personable, communicates clearly throughout the process, and does a great job walking through trade-offs and options whenever decisions or pivots are needed. Unexpected situations can come up with projects of this size, and Eric handled those conversations professionally and collaboratively. Skyline also managed the permitting and inspection process from start to finish, which removed a huge burden from us and made the process much smoother. Most importantly, the quality of the work has been excellent. His crews are skilled, detail-oriented, respectful of the home, and move quickly without sacrificing craftsmanship. Finding a contractor you trust for one large project is hard. Finding one you trust enough to bring back for three separate major renovations says a lot. All our guests are shocked at the transformation to the feel of our home. Get this : The work was completed ahead of schedule! Yes that's right - it does happen in remodelling - but honestly not often. The entire process was executed with near swiss clock precision, scheduling and craftsmanship. The workers showed up on time at every step and it's clear they have a very good relationship with Eric at Skyline so they do their best work on time, every time. It's evident that all the workers are very experienced and know how to execute complex projects like ours. We removed an entire load barring wall dividing the kitchen and living room that had a brick fireplace, and chimney. They removed it all without destroying unintended nearby walls or flooring. Skyline rebuilt the entire ceiling structure, doubled the skylight opening by adding a second skylight, they patched the roof opening, replaced all the utilities including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and even refurbished our existing 20+ yr old exotic Kempas hardwood flooring to line up like glass with our newly installed kitchen tile flooring. This was a complex job with a lot of challenging details, like custom cabinetry, a 10 foot waterfall Quartzite stone island with utilities on concrete subfloor, and much more. The results speak for themselves. I've done previous work with other contractors but the level of efficiency and professionalism with Skyline made this a smooth project where all the small details are handled well before they become an issue. I'm already planning additional remodel work in other parts of my home with them. Seriously, do not hesitate to use Skyline - they are a rare gem in the remodel field, but they are busy so call for an estimate early if you're considering some remodeling.
