We were recommended about 4 different ingredients per person. I think we over did it anyways and end up having leftovers for the next day, which still tasted great. Spicy level if you love spicy, otherwise I'd recommend Little Spicy. Someone insisted on getting the Mala Wings ($15), and they were surprisingly good. Someone mentioned to our waiter that it was my birthday, so they were nice enough to bring us complementary Gold & Silver ManTou. The waitress was very friendly and the chefs checked in throughout the meal and seemed to care that we were enjoying the nigiri. A few times we were asked if we wanted add on ons (drinks, and then sushi add ons later). I would have preferred if the menu was just maybe left without explicit solicitations to order more. There wasn't a whole lot to go off of from what I could find about it, but this place blew away expectations. Upon entry, you could smell the nam pla coming from the kitchen. We were greeted by the host, promptly seated, and then greeted by our server. We showed up right at the end of happy hour, but we were able to get in a few drinks before it ended. We grabbed two Thai craft beers, the Sawasdee IPA from PheeBok and the Samakkee Lager from Sandport, plus one Ya Dong, which is a sort of Thai moonshine. The beers were good, but I really enjoyed the Ya Dong. It has a very complex, herbal flavor, with cardamom and star anise coming through clearly without taking over. The restaurant was beautifully designed, dimly lit creating an intimate atmosphere with deep teal and cream contrasting colors. The detail work is what got me. Carved wood, brass patterns, arched windows lit up behind the shutters. Somebody thought about every inch of this place. We started with the Larb Ped and the Koong Chae Nam Pla. The larb had great acidity and real heat, and it tasted like what I had in Thailand recently. The Koong Chae Nam Pla was a nice spin on carpaccio, though the flavors are pure Thai. Sweet, fresh shrimp under what tasted like a Thai seafood sauce. I originally wanted the picanha krapow, but the server recommended the Kaeng Ra-Waeng, while my wife got the Kang Puu. Glad I took the recommendation. The Kaeng Ra-Waeng was a thick green curry with succulent chunks of braised beef, solidly spicy, with a ton of depth. Tasted like the curry base was made from scratch, and it was seriously comforting. The Kang Puu came out as a whole spread, a bowl of creamy crab curry next to a platter of fried soft shell crab, lump crab, pickled greens, rice noodles and herbs. Creamier and milder than mine, more subtle heat, and just as comforting. I only got a couple bites since we were both pretty locked into our own dishes. The service was superb. Everyone was really nice. I cannot wait to go back and try other dishes, starting with the picanha.

For appetizers, we shared the shrimp coconut panipuri, pung puu (crab roll), and chicken satay, all a must have. Love the presentation of the appetizers. For entrees, we shared the tom kha gai with chicken, always a favorite for me, beef pad see ew and ped ob (braised duck), portions were also very generous. The mango sticky rice cannot be skipped, usually this dessert is seasonal, so glad this is on the menu. This place delivers on every level from food, service, and experience. Highly recommend! I can't wait to try everything else.
