    Bourbon cocktail with pork garnish

UPDATE About 6 months ago they stopped doing BBQ, but they still have beef dishes on the menu. They no longer have that delicious corn salad. Now, you can sit anywhere. The restaurant is still very charming and dimly lit. The bar can make classic cocktails. Their Manhattan was well-made. Their dishes are well composed and full of flavor. Our server was friendly and knew the menu well, plus they had busers.

This is a real special place if you love inventive Thai food. Came here for a dinner on the weekend and glad we got a reservation as this place was poppin. Very cool and chic interior with a fun menu to pour over. The drink menu is also quite something to pair with their delicious dishes. Love all of the tasty things I ate specifically the Crispy Pork Belly. If you love pork / pork belly, this is the dish for you. Deliciously marinated with a lovely sweet chili sauce. The Rib Satay was so sumptuous. Big chunks of beef with that incredible peanut sauce. Not pictured was the Beef See-Iew or the Crab Karee Fried Rice, which I shared with my wife, and WOW. We were so starved for really special Thai food and Unglo really hit it out of the park! Highly recommend the Lychee Clouds! Would come back any day of the week!

Unglo Thai BBQ, which opened on the Upper West Side this past December, was a great find while I was in the area. I stopped in for lunch and quickly knew it would be added to my go-to spots for Thai food. The space has a warm, inviting feel, with soft lighting and bronze-toned accents that give it a nice glow as soon as you walk in. The staff were attentive, and the overall service was excellent. Pad Thai - 5/5 Packed with flavor and really reminded us of the authentic versions we had in Thailand. Chicken Green Curry - 5/5 Absolutely delicious. We're more accustomed to a thinner curry, but this one was richer and thicker, loaded with bold green curry flavor. Definitely a must-order. Overall, I really enjoyed this place--it's a fantastic addition to the UWS scene.

This is a delicious, upscale Thai restaurant near Lincoln Center - Columbus Circle area. While the concept started as Thai-style BBQ (Unglo refers to the grill or stove used for Thai BBQ), plans changed for the restaurant which is now focusing on a la carte dishes. As someone who doesn't typically go out for BBQ, this is a win. I dined with a friend, and we had to ask for recommendations because everything on the menu looked great. The staff pointed out the wagyu khao soi (which is similar to Soothr's khao soi if you've had. It's creamy and blended so well, while the wagyu meat is thin and very delicate) and one of the fish options - two of their big fish dishes are grilled and fried. We went with the fried one as it came with a sweet and sour sauce. We were very satisfied with our choice. While the fish was flavored with the sauce, the fish still kept a crispy texture. The apps didn't quite do it for me. We ordered the wagyu tartare (which were served in the shape of a taco) and the yum sen lek (the fish sauce was overpowering and too much - if you're a fan fish sauce this is def for you!) I would try other apps next time, but also maybe it's because we've compared to the second course of entrees that were divine.

The Khao Soi Chicken is so good. The sauce is spicy and creamy and the egg noodles are cooked perfectly. Excited to try their other items next time. The cocktails look really good too

I usually don't have too many bad things to say about a restaurant, but there was a couple things that I had issues with. Regarding their menu, I did not have any issue with their traditional Thai dishes. There is a scent in the restaurant that I'm not sure what it was exactly, but the smell didn't sit right with me. Their water also tasted really strange. NYC tap water taste perfectly find with me but for some reason even asking for a new glass, something was strange about their water. We went for restaurant week and we ordered for apps: prime rib finger satay, northern Thai beef tartare, for entrees: grilled porterhouse, Khao son wagyu, and for dessert: golden pung-cha and mor gang Fok Thong. We got 2 orders of the restaurant week which cost $60 each. We also ordered a Thai ice tea that cost $15, which feels very absurd and overpriced. The appetizers were both good and we had no issues with it. The grilled porterhouse did not look like the way they marketed on their instagram. The cut looked different, it was much thinner and was also not cooked to medium rare. It also got cold faster than you'd expect making the last couple bites not as good. Their Khao Soi Wagyu was also not as expected. On their instagram the noodles looks fried and crispy on the side of the dish, but when we got it, the noodles were under all the sauce, so it loss that crunchy texture I was hoping for. The curry sauce with it was good but neither of the main dishes came out as they were marketed on their instagram. I included the photos of what we expected the dish to look like. The dessert was strange too, I'm not sure if it was intentional but the golden pung-cha had some alcohol taste to it. And the Mor Gang Fak Thong tasted stale and store bought. Overall I really would not reccomend coming here. There are much better Thai restaurants in the city for a much fairer price.

Walked in thinking this place was more about food, but the cocktail menu actually caught my eye first -- lots of interesting combinations I wanted to try (saving that for next time). We ordered a few dishes to share and overall had a great experience. The grilled branzino was a standout -- big portion, nicely cooked, and the sauce had a real kick. Tom yum seafood was different from most places, richer and less acidic. The yellow curry was comforting and very rice-friendly. For four people, we spent about $40 per person and still had leftovers, which is rare in this area. Solid spot with good value and daily happy hour.

Fabulous Funkytown music playlist. I knew all the words. Relaxing and happy. Spacious. Gorgeous copper lighting. Felt like being inside a magic temple / alternate universe Wonderful staff. Friendly. Energetic. Waiter was a snowboarder. Great calamari and Pad Thai and Green Curry. Next time I'll try the barbecue. Big booth tables with copper barbecue pit in the table. Great for conversation. Jasmine tea surprised us at $9 for a bottomless cup. Good tea bag. Clean ground floor bathrooms. Chic. NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. I HOPE THEY GET A RAMP. PLEASE MAKE THE TEA FIVE DOLLARS, NOT NINE, THANK YOU There's a back room for private parties.

The moment I walked in I already knew this was gonna be bad. This restaurant is across from Lincoln Center and caters to the pre-theater dining crowd. However, they were seating tables way late, taking forever to come out with food, and generally just super not on it with staying on schedule for all the diners who had to leave. We were seated maybe half an hour after our reservation time, were immediately ready to order, and did not receive our food until over an hour after our reservation time. We had to gobble it up super quickly. The table next to us also had 45 minutes between appetizers and mains. The ambience is also super chaotic and loud. The food was nothing special either. My pad see ew was too sweet and the flavor of the beef was off.

Unglo is the latest creation from the team that runs Soothr, and is very delicious! However you are definitely paying for spacious seating, for the service of having your meat bbq'd for you, and it is slightly over priced. But overall decent, and nice for a special occasion. It was a little loud but that's fine. The lighting is a little orange as a heads up

Very cool vibe hanging out with friends here. BBQ meat is fresh, Waygu fried rice is very tasty! I like the Thai sauce for BBQ! With 5 stars service here, $75 per person 5 stars recommend for all of you.

Finally visited this place and loved it! I'm so glad they are now serving Thai dishes along with the grilled meats. I wanted to try everything on the menu. For a table of 5 adults we ordered the grilled branzino, wagyu rib fingers, wagyu fried rice, chicken khao soi, tea leaf salad, the green and NY strip. We were stuffed. I will definitely be back for more.

The team behind Soothr is bringing Manhattan's first Thai BBQ & hotpot just steps from Lincoln Square! The interior is giving disco with the lights and mirrors. We got the premium set for $260 and the Moo Krata set. Like Korean BBQ, you can cook at your own pace. But with hotpot around the grill! Dishes we tried: A5 Wagyu (9/10) American Wagyu flank (7/10) Dry aged NY strip (7/10) Scallop crudo (10/10) Wagyu fried rice (9.5/10) Assorted veggies (9/10) The presentation is second to none and the quality of meat is superb. There's a nice balance of flavors. The scallop crudo was the real standout with the chili lime dressing. The wagyu fried rice was seasoned well and the cured egg yolk is excellent. Staff is very attentive with grilling and the hotpot throughout the meal. Follow my Instagram and TikTok @thephotographerfoodie for more! :)

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and found the restaurant moderately crowded. We were greeted promptly and seated upon entry. I found the space comfortable and relaxed. Our waiter was polite and attentive. We ordered the corn bread as an appetizer. I prefer sweet cornbread versus jalapeño, so it wasn't my thing. However, my cousin is the opposite and she really enjoyed it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, greens, and biscuit. I didn't care for the greens, but the biscuit and pulled pork was excellent. My sister had the ribs, greens, and dirty rice. She didn't like any of her food. She said the ribs had a lot of gristle. There was very little meat on the bone. I tasted the rice and agreed with her assessment. It wasn't that good. Our cousin had the chicken, mac-n-cheese, and baked beans. She liked her food. My cousin had been to Virgil's before many years ago and said this experience mirrored past ones. We all ordered dessert as well. i had the strawberry shortcake, which wasn't great. The strawberries were fresh, and I liked the whipped cream, but the "shortcake" was actually the same biscuit that was served with my meal. It wasn't sweet enough and just didn't work well. I ended up picking over the dessert, so most of it went to waste. My sister had the key lime pie which she didn't like. My cousin had the banana pudding which she enjoyed. Overall, the experience got mixed reviews, but I'd visit Virgil's again in the future for sure. The bill ended up being about $150 plus, if I recall correctly, because we ordered alcoholic beverages as well.

Since our program covered the expenses, we didn't pay anything out of pocket. Now I enjoy a good BBQ cookout at home as much as the next family, but don't care for it as a dining experience. My employer catered BBQ luncheons from time to time, and even then I wasn't crazy about it. Here in Hill Country, a room was reserved for us (party of 36). Our dinnerware resembled army mess tins lined with sanitary papers; our glasses resembled moonshine jars complete with screw threads at the rim for lids. Our dinner was a catered set of longhorn cheddar mac & cheese (quite good), sliced brisket (meh), market chicken (a little tough), fresh baked cornbread (dry & hard) and collard greens (good but could be saltier). I consumed massive amounts of mac & cheese and collared greens to help swallow down the almost rock-hard cornbread. Desert was chocolate chip cookies (that wasn't bad). Some members of the group ordered liquor (at their own expense) to celebrate the good time they were having. Customer service was less than stellar. The waitress did not inform us that soft drinks were complimentary until after we finished eating. That wasn't all. The restroom was located downstairs past the bar room. During my two visits - before and after the food was served - the same staff member was there cleaning. He had just finished the sinks when I went in the first time. On the second visit, the front door was blocked from the inside by a pail - he was mopping the floor. Couldn't he have waited till the off-peak hours to do that?? Customer service and cornbread were enough for me to not recommend this restaurant.
