    Chicken ramen
    George C.

I think food here is decent and will satisfy the itch for ramen. But won't scratch it entirely if you're looking for a rich broth and more "traditional" ramen (or my concept of traditional). I ordered the, I think, chicken topped ramen. It was decent but lacked a bit of flavor. The chicken was decent but it was just chicken, nothing crazy done to it. My wife's vegetarian ramen, on the other hand, was really good! It was super flavorful, looked very appetizing and is something I would get again. Overall, it's a decent looking spot and glad I finally came in. But I'll be getting a different ramen next time

Dropped by Halloween night for a bowl of Ramen. The service was amazing and super friendly - we were never left with a stray wrapper or plate for more than a few minutes. The Okinawa ramen itself was great - it had a deep broth and chewy noodles. Would definitely come again if I was in the area!

Came in for lunch and was happy to find they had a lunch special menu. Everything on it sounded so good and we're at a discounted price. The chicken bento was so delicious. The cold soba paired with the fried chicken was such a good combination. The onigiri was also super filling. The staff was super friendly and checked in multiple times. The place also has a bar area connected to it and I can't wait to try it out next time.

Nice little stroll-in spot in the UES! The ramen was good. I liked my shredded pork tonkatsu because the meat added sweetness to the bowl. The service is excellent!

I visited here because there were so many amazing Summer specials that I had to stop by and try. The Hokkaido Seared Scallops were cooked perfectly and the sushi was so fresh! I loved the mentaiko noods and the Okinawa broth in the Okinawa Ramen. The soft shell crab in the bun was fried lightly and was a nice big piece. Both the Yuzu Lemonade and Lychee Mojito mocktail were really refreshing and not too sweet. They also make a solid rice bowl here. They even have lunch bento boxes which are so cute and have so many sides with the protein of choice! Don't skip their creamy bouncy panna cotta for dessert. The bartender and servers were very attentive and there's a bar area inside, along with all the tables. They also have a really nice and clean restroom.

We sat at the bar cuz the line was too long to sit for a table. Our food came fairly quickly and it was yummy.

We came here on a Sunday evening and was seated right away. There are a mixture of tables for 2 and 6 but didn't see anything for larger parties We were lured here by the fried chicken and it did not disappoint. It was very juicy. We also loved the mayo and pepper salt that came with it. The mayo tasted like it had some sesame oil in it. My lychee mojito was super refreshing and the old fashioned was also great. Both ramens were SO GOOD. The Okinawa had such depth and flavor. It had thinner noodles. The spicy pork had the perfect level of spice and the shredded pork had good texture and flavor. The service was great. I highly recommend and can't wait to go again!

Tuna rice bowl had alooot of tuna! It was nice and spicy with avocados. The veggie veggie ramen was good with lots of emoji as well. The beef and pork ramen options looked hearty as well. Nice staff and no wait on Saturday night walk in. Cozy atmosphere and lots of seating

Service is pretty good but I found their ramen 4/5. If anything, their spicy tuna roll was better quality. The ingredients for the ramen were fresh but theres something lacking for broth. Overall, not bad experience but nothing mind-blowing as well.

The food was of exceptional quality and expertly prepared, with generous portion sizes. I will definitely return to see what new offerings are added to their menu.

Veggie Veggie Ramen (+ egg, no onion)

Meijin is a popular spot on the Upper East Side for ramen, cocktails, and sushi. As a vegetarian, there were very few options. I dont mind limited choices, as long as they're good. I ordered the only entree available to me: the Veggie Veggie Ramen. I asked to substitute an egg for the onions and scallions (same price as add-ons) but was informed that Meijin doesn't do substitutions - they only leave items out, and you can pay a la carte for additions. Pretty stingy for a place that charges $20+ per bowl of ramen, IMO. I paid the extra $4 to add the egg and am glad I did, because most of the other components were disappointing. The tofu was raw and unseasoned, the cherry tomatoes were strange in broth, and the corn tasted canned. The enoki mushrooms and inari were good. The broth was mild and a bit garlicky, with no real depth to it. There were no condiments on the table to improve it. The cocktail menu is excellent, though execution was inconsistent. Our two Collins San had very different proportions of ingredients, to the point that they were different colors altogether. The chairs are hard and many of the stools are backless. There are a few coathooks on the wall, but not nearly enough for all the coats on a cold evening.

The vibes were great with the ambiance but the food was reallyyy not the best in my opinion. The spicy wagyu beef ramen was definitely not wagyu or even good beef tbh as it was very chewy and also kinda cold. The noodles were pretty oily and spicy but not the kind I expected from ramen places I'm used to. The katsu rice bowl was decent portion but katsu wasn't very crispy and meat was pretty tough. Overall not the best experience so wouldn't come back or really recommend

Their weekday Bento sets are honestly one of the best deals you will find in the UES . Starting at $14 you are getting a little taste of Japan right in the middle of your workday. Each set comes with a soba salad, warm miso soup and a perfectly shaped onigiri that's simple yet so satisfying. Available Monday to Friday , 12-3 PM, dine-in only. But what makes Meijin really shines are their ramen. Specifically, their signature Washu Beef ramen which have been served over a decade. The Washu beef is incredible tender and so flavorful in every bite.

The tables, floors, and bathrooms were all very clean. This will be short and sweet. I ordered the Shrimp Bao. It was very good. The shrimp was crispy and tasty, but I think there should be 2 per order. One was not enough. 5/5 for taste 1/5 for quantity. I also ordered the Oh So Hot ! Miso. This consisted of pork and chicken broth, spicy ground chicken, spinach, bean sprouts, cabbage, and nori. I ordered it spicy, but I should have gotten it hot instead. I like spicy food, and the spicy needed more kick to me. But it was delicious. 5/5 Til we eat again...

We walked into a comfortable modern space with a casual energy that worked well for both a quick ramen meal and a longer dinner with friends. The interior had a warm, inviting feel with a layout that accommodated both small groups and solo diners, and the open kitchen added a layer of engagement to the experience. The ramen is the main highlight, especially the rich and flavorful broths. We ordered a few options and found the EAK ramen standing out with its deep, savory broth and satisfying texture, the noodles having a good chew that held up well against the richness of the soup. The Zebra and chicken-based ramen offered different flavor profiles, each arriving with well-prepared toppings and balanced seasoning. The small plates were also worth exploring, with items like takoyaki and chicken karaage adding more variety to the meal, each dish arriving hot and well assembled. The menu had a lot of choices beyond ramen, which made it a good option for groups with different preferences. Service was quick and the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to settle in. It could get busy during peak times, but the overall dining experience moved along smoothly. The staff moved through the room with efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the experience comfortable without feeling rushed. Overall, E.A.K. Ramen is a solid ramen spot in Hell's Kitchen with flavorful broths, a diverse menu, and a comfortable setting. While some dishes may vary depending on what you order, the strong ramen selection and variety of Japanese dishes make it a place worth checking out.

Cozy no-frills ramen bar near the theater district. I enjoyed a delicious, balanced bowl of Paitan…read moreramen ($19). No complaints, except that I guess I prefer Tonkostu (pork bone) over Paitan (chicken bone). I appreciated sitting at the bar to watch the lone ramen monger stir around the next batches of broth, hand-torching some chashu; boiling, whip-drying, and gently nestling my noodles, then manually laying out the toppings. The dish feels real, personal.

We walked into a compact dining room with a handful of tables and counter seating facing the open kitchen, giving the space a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The room had a warm, focused energy with the sounds of the kitchen and the hum of conversation filling the space, and the seating arrangement kept the attention on the food being prepared in front of us. The ramen is the reason to come here. We ordered a few bowls and found the signature chicken paitan broth rich, creamy, and full of flavor without feeling overly heavy. The noodles had a nice texture that held up well in the broth, and the toppings were thoughtfully prepared, with the chashu tender and the seasoned egg adding a creamy richness to the bowl. The spicy versions added an extra layer of heat without overpowering the chicken broth, and the deluxe bowls offered generous portions with additional toppings that made the meal feel more substantial. The chicken curry ramen was another standout, combining the comforting broth with a mild, savory curry flavor that added a different dimension to the bowl. The side dishes complemented the meal well, with options like bao buns, takoyaki, and onigiri adding variety, though some appetizers were on the smaller side and the ramen itself was filling enough to be the main focus. Service was generally quick, and even during busy periods the food came out at a good pace. The team moved through the room with efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the experience smooth without feeling rushed. The biggest thing to plan around is the limited seating. The restaurant fills up quickly, especially during lunch and dinner hours, so there may be a short wait for a table. The compact dining room could also feel crowded during peak times, but that was part of the restaurant's charm. Overall, TORIBRO Ramen is a great spot for anyone looking for a comforting bowl of chicken-based ramen in New York City. The flavorful broth, well-prepared noodles, and cozy atmosphere make it an easy place to revisit, especially on a cold day or whenever we are craving a satisfying bowl of ramen.
