This spot is Vietnamese dessert heaven. If you know, you know--and if you don't? Get yourself to Thạch Chè Mỹ Linh immediately. The chè here is absolutely chef's kiss. It's not overly sweet like a lot of other places--just that perfect balance of coconutty, chewy, crunchy, icy magic that hits every texture craving at once. My go-to is the chè thập cẩm (mixed dessert)--it's a beautiful chaos of mung beans, pandan jelly, red beans, jackfruit, and coconut milk over crushed ice. A full textural masterpiece. You'll also find a rainbow of Vietnamese jellies (thạch) stacked in the cold case like art. Everything is homemade, fresh, and wildly nostalgic if you grew up eating this stuff. It's giving: your auntie's kitchen, but with better lighting and way more variety. Bonus points for being super affordable, fast, and run by the sweetest family. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's cash only and takeout-style--nothing fancy--but honestly, that's part of the charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pro tip: Grab extra pandan jelly and grass jelly on the side. You'll thank me later.

Still my VNese sweet place to go to. Also, highly recommended come near the time they close so they will give you abit xtra, just saying. The foods are delish and hit all the sweet spots. Great service by staff and the owner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is spotless and well organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

$6.50 for a Che Thai. They have a variety of Vietnamese desserts, all authentic. They take CASH ONLY.

The parking lot to get here on a Sunday is a mad house since it's shared by so many establishments. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once I finally arrived it wasn't too busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Two friendly workers inside that helped me immediately. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is organized and felt neat and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the che 3 mau and che thai. Both were really good and refreshing but the red beans in the che 3 mau were a little hard for my taste. The coconut milk they use for the che 3 mau is also so fatty because when I added the ice the fat congealed. I liked that they give you fresh shaved ice for your desserts. It melts fast to cool the dessert and is also easy to eat and crunch on. They are a cash only so remember to bring cash and get ready to eat some delicious desserts.

Of course I'll have to have some sweet every time we in town and perfect dessert place next door. Got their refreshing Che ba mau and Che banana coz I love banana in all version lol.

Where do Vietnamese peeps go for authentic desserts? Here. Been coming here for, like, ever. This was my late mama's favorite place too. So whenever I come here I always think of her. It is by far, the best place in Little Saigon for Vietnamese desserts. The quality continues to meet high expectations for me. The taste never changes. Their recipes stay consistent and delicious. So what is Vietnamese desserts"? Some is based with mung beans, corn, sweet potato, taro root, and with or without coconut milk. My favorite is Che Thai - it contains longan, coconut jelly, jackfruit, tapioca water chestnuts, pandan jelly, and more jelly, and coconut milk or half and half. It is so refreshing on a hot summer day. And they make the best here! Please try it. The chewy coconut jelly is so good. Definitely taste it! You will be hooked, especially on a hot soCal day There are so many 'che' to try. And shakes too. Have at it and enjoy a treat. Service is ALWAYS good and friendly. And they pack the food with love. The way every business should! Your food will never be damaged when you open up your package at home. I do like that the shop is well kempt. Major plus! Come and support this small local business and stimulate the economy. You will do them and yourself a great favor! Enjoy!

    All so yummy!!

Walked into this store once for some dessert fix and then.... I am hooked. I cant pronounce any of the item's names but I just try a bunch of different things every time and they all turn out to be great. Some ladies might not speak English there but it doesn't affect the fact that they are so nice and friendly. The only con is they are cash only

This hidden gem has been around for 13 years! Had no idea this little shop tucked away between Seafood Paradise and Stater Bros serves such fresh tapioca desserts (che), alfresco drinks and even to-go foods! The owner was so helpful and cute-- love how proud she is of her "baby" and you can tell she puts her heart and soul into it. She definitely takes pride in only the freshest ingredients, quality sources and cleanliness. Definitely our go-to!

Whenever I come to OC for work, I always have to pick up to go Vietnamese food and desserts (Che). I typically go to the other Che spot but wanted to try something new. Great Yelp reviews but the place is just ok. The Che was a bit watered down. Its a super clean spot and has chairs for you to enjoy, unlike others spots but the other spot is much better with food.

    Pricing 12/16/23. Cash only

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

Welcome to Day 2 of OC Food Journals, where I try a new place every day so you don't have to…read more Today's stop was Loi's Kitchen, and honestly, this review is a little overdue. I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!

Now about the hu tieu, which came with all the delicious bbq pork, shrimp, shredded chicken, fried garlic and onions, lightly dressed in an oh so delicious sauce. Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl.
