I have ordered a large batch of Che Thai for the last two thanksgiving pot lucks. It is that goood.

OMG, No wonder this place is never busy, very slow.. Because the worker (not sure is the owner) but YES she is very rude, her face very mean and talk just like she never want to work there. Also, she needs to buy a glass so she can see better, she looks like a grandma (BA ngoai) but she calls me "chi", I am only 36 years old, I was going tip like I always tip, but I stop tipping her because of that... She need to go school or learn how to customer service better, otherwise she will not get a dollar tip, and this business will out the business soon. The place is nice, but waste because not busy like "Che Hien Khanh'".... I never come to support this business again if I still see this lady, but I will come to take pictures of her and post here so everyone will know and the owner will knows, so she can learn a lesson so she can work better. My husband and I randomly found this Vietnamese dessert shop while we were waiting for our table at Peking Restaurant. Stepped inside, and saw an array of various Vietnamese desserts. Yum! We didn't know what any of the items were on display, and had to point out what we wanted. I saw a photo for the "Che bao mau" and ordered this drink to-go. It reminds me of the dessert/drinks served at Bambu! Coconut milk, beans, jellies, tapioca, shaved ice on top, etc. YUM! :) It was pretty good, couldn't finish though. Probably lots of calories. I heard this place is known for their dessert bananas, but we didn't get to try that this time. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try out the other desserts, yummos :) read more

The best che 3 Mau. I tried other places in the area and they are not as good as this shop. The che 3 mau is very refreshing not overly sweet and beautifully presented with shaved ice on top. I can't have dairy so having this delicious dessert option is a blessing. After you take that first spoonful of the 3 mau, you will stop whatever else you're doing and dive into this dessert. I drive 20+ miles down to this shop just to get their che 3 Mau. The service is great and the shop is clean. Came to Westminster to eat some vietnamese desserts and my moms friend recommended this place. It's in the same plaza as stated bro's and there were a whole bunch of other stores and restaurants so the parking was pretty big! Walked in and saw a whole bunch of different types of desserts displayed and it just made me drool! Everything looked so good and delicious, I just wanted to order it ALL! We ended up deciding on the Che ba mau and Che thai cause those seem to be the most popular and we were craving drinky desserts. The drinks came out pretty fast and OMG did the desserts look yummy! The Che ba mau was FILLLED with yummy goodness unlike other places where they don't put as much stuff in there and same with the Che thai. I also loved that they both weren't too sweet! Parking is very difficult on weekends as they share the lot with multiple businesses. Small dessert spot with a few tables inside. They carry a variety of Che (Vietnamese desserts), sticky rice, pandan bread, saigon yogurt, flan, smoothies, and milk teas. I like the che thai (mixed exotic fruits-jackfruit, lychee, coconut jelly, tapioca, pandan in coconut milk. Very light and refreshing. The one thing I probably miss most about my childhood would have to be the absurd amount of dessert my grandma and aunties would make for me. As they got older and wanted to be "healthier" that would happen less and less. Every so often I get nostalgic about it and go hunting for some good che. Che spots are a dime a dozen in Westminster. For me what makes a place stand apart is it's variety, taste and cleanliness. Thach Che My Linh exceeded expectations on all 3 accounts. Not only did they have a wide array of ches, they also carried a variety of xoi (sweet rice dessert - I'm sure there's an official English term for it but that's what I'm going to call it). In addition they also have other sweets such as banh bo nuong (honeycomb pandan cake) and chuoi nep nuong (grilled banana wrapped in sweet rice). I liked how everything was clearly labeled, I always came up with silly names for che when I was a kid so sometimes it's difficult to order whenever I visit these shops. But having clear names helps me learn the names and also makes things a bit less embarrassing when I'm trying to order with my broken Vietnamese. Make sure to check out their new meal options and they also carry a few other food options in their refrigerator on the side. I picked up some bi heo (shredded pork skin) on my last visit on a whim and it was great. Onto the best part - the taste! Face it, everyone has parts of che that are their favorite and other parts they wouldn't mind if there was little or none of. For example I love for che sam bo luong - a sweet herbal dessert containing sliced jello, seaweed, dates, goji berries, fungus and other grains. At other che spots they just scoop and put in your cup, most times you don't even get all of the parts. Here I watched as the lady consciously scooped up certain pieces so the end result had a good mixture of all the ingredients. You have to be living under a rock if you haven't heard of che 3 mau - the three bean dessert. Only the name isn't always accurate since the dessert is made up of more than 3 beans. The beans are cooked and then soaked in sugar water and then thrown together with other sweet pieces and then coconut milk topped with ice. The beans in their che 3 mau had a great texture, which is harder to achieve than you would think. Lastly living in the world of Covid, cleanliness is top of mind for everyone. They adhere to social distancing guidelines and have clear markers on the floor. In addition, they have added plexiglass to protect themselves as well as their buffet style food display. All workers wear masks at all times and they are constantly changing and sanitizing. I witnessed my cashier put an additional pair of gloves on before handling cash and then removing those before he touched the handles to scoop my che. This has 100% become my go to che spot. In addition the items I have reviewed I would highly recommend che tao xon, xoi lao xuong and xoi gac. A few things to note: - They are cash only. - If you don't plan on eating your che immediately ask them to forgo the ice and put the coconut on the side. - Throw your chuoi nep nuong in the airfryer for 10 min and it comes out crispy and delicious - pour coconut on top - you're welcome. read more

The first time that I've been here I just came in with my aunt and nothing looked appealing so I didn't buy anything. And of course I didn't write a review. This time I was craving for Che and was lazy to go to other dessert places... I regret my choice to go here. I bought Che bap (corn dessert) this dessert was more like Porridge instead of Che. There was nep (rice) in the Che which is not normal and plus the Che was very bland. Especially not worth $1.75 when other places are cheaper for the same amount. This che a little 5 year old could of made it and would of still tasted better. I also bought the colorful Khoai mi. There wasn't even the sugar dipping that was suppose to come with it. The Khoai mi by itself had no flavor what so ever. I have never tasted any type of dessert like this.... It's blander than water. It's as if they made this item with pure water. I bought the Che 3 mau too... That was $3 was not worth it. The blandest thing I have ever tasted. I can't even taste the beans... There's no flavor! I poured the whole container of coconut milk into the Che and it was still bland. Needless to say if your looking for desserts find it else where because this dessert place isnt dessert its more like water with calories. Their coconut milk doesn't taste right either. This place is not worth the money and the calories. Sure this place is clean they are fairly new. About 2 years and I am surprised they even last that long. There isn't anything good about this place. The English name of thach che my linh is ironiclly Sweet Temptation. This is the blandest Che place I've ever tasted. The guy there seemed to speak only Vietnamese and also seemed to be the only one working, so it took him some time to make 9 Che's, but he was pretty nice and helpful. These are big cups (prob 16 oz?) and they're filled to the brim with Che for $3.75 a cup. It's a pretty solid deal. Che ba mau was good and definitely a value. There was a ton of beans in there. Che Thai was FANTASTIC. I loved it. Pretty light, very balanced, lots of fruits and gelatin. My fave! Che Sam bo luong was def herbally like the name suggests. Good mix of lotus seeds and seaweed. Being as Vietnamese is a second language for me, the elders that work here are extremely helpful and patient with this slow half english/half vietnamese speaker LOL! HEY i tried my very best at speaking Vietnamese k! When I visited Vietnam, there was a lady that carted around homemade banh bo every afternoon. She sold six pieces for 5,000 dong, pennies when you do the US conversion. Banh bo is labor intensive process of get all the honeycomb veins into the delicate dough. I haven't found a spot yet that makes it quite like the woman in Vietnam. This place though, comes close. The banh bo was very good, probably the best I've had yet in the US and that's a bit serendipitous as I wasn't even looking. The accompanied coconut milk wasn't rich and creamy though, so a bit of a let down. I also ordered the house special taro dessert with ginko nuts and white ear mushroom, which was also delightful. I had to order the neon green tapioca mochi balls filled with mung beans. They were just gorgeous. It was chewy on the outside and creamy on the inside and very delicious. All the desserts were just bordering on slightly too sweet, but that's because I have a very low sugar tolerance and it may be perfect for most people. This was a very nice find. The space is clean and modern. I've been wanting to try out this place since I'm always craving for che (Vietnamese dessert) ever since I was a kid. This place has been known around the Vietnamese community in Little Saigon for quite a long time. I've got to try great quality and great tasting che ba mau. This place serves the best che ba mau. It's even better than the che ba mau (Vietnamese three color dessert) that I got at Thach Che Hien Khanh. The best part was the banh lot (green pandan layers) and the coconut layers. They were excellent and out of this world good. I thought about trying Che Thai since it looked good but will save it for next time. Over the past weekend, I stumbled upon this "gem-in-the-wall" when I was craving for some Vietnamese delicacy. First thing I noticed about this store was its cleanliness. It had a great and welcoming atmosphere like it belonged to my mom & pop's. The service was great and they made some great recommendations. I went with the authentic Che Ba Mau (a party in a cup - literally), Che Sam Bo Luong (lotus seeds and seaweed - refreshing AF) and some other famous treasures to fulfill my inner child's appetite. Love this place. The biggest reason? It's not as sweet or as fatty. Their coconut sauce is more like milk rather than cream and their Che Thai etc isn't too fatty. I feel better about indulging here from time to time. Che Thai has actual pandan leafs giving it that extra flavor. Way better than a local competitor (cough hienh kanh). Che is always fresh. Che bap has tapioca and fresh young coconut which is a lovely addition that's hard to find in the area. Tapioca mung bean balls (forget what they're called) are delicious!! One of my favorites. Che tao xon is also amazing. I also appreciate that they don't put peanuts in their sesame sprinkle. Although peanuts are more of a Caucasian allergy, I was cursed with a severe allergy. I was in the Westminster area this past weekend and decided to stop by Thach Che My Linh. I'm very happy with my choice, their Che Ba Mao & Che Tai are fresh, flavorful and taste great. I ate the Che Ba Mao on premises and took the Che Tai home for dessert last night...Yum!! On a separate note, the owners Tommy & Lynn were working when I was in their store. Although a little shy at first, they soon opened up and were very friendly. I had a sense they took great pride in their business, the entire store was immaculate and they had flowers, pictures etc. throughout. In a world of boba and yogurt shops, it is refreshing to have a neighborhood establishment such as Thach Che My Linh that makes, che, sinh to and xoi. Unlike their competitor Hien Khanh, Thach Che My Linh has very good customer service, not to mention that the interior is also very clean. Some may disagree and say that the best food is served in the dirtiest of places but for me give me a sam bo luong and hold the salmonella. This is a small store to order to go food. They had a small assortment of sticky rice, sausages and spring rolls. They had a big variety of che. All of it smells so good! I ordered the rau ma and mung bean shake. It had an interesting flavor to it, but I think the mung bean made the smoothie too thick.
