Great visit all around. Lots of menu options to try (will be back). The "chicken soup" was similar to pho, with ramen-style noodles (small pictured above). Priced right. Add chili for some bam-bam.

A coworker brought me here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and I am hooked! When she first mentioned it, I of course hopped onto Yelp to check out the reviews and pictures... (nice job on the pictures guys!) The Khao Soi looked interesting and since I've never had it before, I was up for the experience. I'm addicted. This dish is so flavourful and I enjoyed it so much that I've been craving it ever since. The service was okay. I mean, it was quick at first but when they started to bring the wrong orders to our table, I began to wonder. Everyone was friendly and the food more than made up for this minor shortcoming. I can't wait to go back.

I was excited to eat the chili beef since I love eating stuff like this. I ordered through uber eats. It came extremely quick and was piping hot. I was surprised and glad to see that it came with a bowl of plain rice and cutlery. Once I opened the container, I was greeted with disappointment. The container was about 1/3 full. For the price paid, over $16 (not including delivery charge) I expected a full container of chili beef that I was hoping to split into 2 meals. This portion was smaller than a $7 meal from the food court. The container was so empty, I dumped my bowl of rice inside to mix in and even then, the container was not full and had plenty of room to spare. The food item was soggy (the beef is dripped in batter and fried - it should be somewhat crispy) instead, the batter was just like extra carbs/filler. The peppers were oddly cut in large irregular shapes. The ginger pieces were also bountiful and (too) large. Flavour wise was decent, I liked how there was a container of chili oil on the side so you could adjust to your preference. However, the price paid for this is just a crime. The food and portion I got is what I expect from a $4 frozen meal.

Thai Bamboo is decent Thai restaurant in the area. Good price, Friendly Services and Good Food! Chicken Pad Thai ($8.95) extra spicy is quite nicely done, spiced up with chili pepper and fresh from the wok!! Yummmy! Deco is really simple and with tons of bamboo... Thai Bamboo is worth your while if you are in the neighbourhood and have cravings for some Thai food. Not the best but will do...

    Beef curry

Ordered beef curry, taste like it's not curry. Ingredients are not cooked with soup. Not as good as before, like many other restaurants doing worse in the pandemic. I think I will not go there again.

I had lunch at Thai Bamboo Restaurant today. I'd had lunch there last year and it was good! I ordered Green Curry Chicken and it was delicious! Yum! The servers were friendly and quick. It's a busy spot and I could have been in and out within a half hour.

We came here for a baby shower and they were super accommodating. I can see why this place is packed on a Saturday! My friends told me when they are doing take out, they usually have to wait 50 minutes and sometimes longer because of how busy it is but the food is worth it! A nice Thai and Laos restaurant with real authentic Asian food! It is so rare to find an authentic restaurant like this! Their papaya salads are amazing, taste like my moms and love the fact that they included noodles, cabbage and cucumbers. A couple of the ladies got the beef lap and chicken lap. Both were delicious! Should definitely order it next time. I wanted to try something else since everyone was sticking to the lap and papaya salad so I got the crispy chilli Chicken and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls are simply amazing. So delicious, crispy and filled with lots of shrimp! My dish on the other hand was alright, nothing to rave about. It was good but I really wished I should have gotten the vermicelli curry soup that I've been seeing on Yelp! That looked amazing, will definitely try it next time. If you're planning to host a dinner here, make sure you make reservations ahead of time!

Unfortunately this is a place that I'll never come back to. Most times the restaurant has something going for it, like the food, service, or being cheap, but this place felt like it had none of those things. My partner and I decided to try this place out since we were close by. Upon entering we were greeted by a nice waitress. She sat us down and we were grossed out by the table cloth. It had tons of stains on it... Looked like it was out for the whole day. Two other groups were seated in our area after we arrived and placed our order. One table got all of their food before us and they had 5 dishes. We ordered the khao soi and beef pad thai. We were disappointed... The khao soi was really bland and noodles were overcooked. The pad thai was mediocre...its not authentic pad thai just FYI...just westernized pad thai. None of the sweet, sour, spicy, salty and bitter flavours. This place was a miss for me. I was hoping to find a gem, but was left disappointed.

Shrimp spring rolls with a sweet fish sauce

Thai Bamboo is where I go when I'm salivating for some Thai salads (this place has the best!). It's close enough and good enough that I keep coming back (and I've been coming here for years!). There are dishes that are unique to Thai Bamboo that I can't get anywhere else (that I know of). The first is the Laos style green papaya salad. Oh my lord it is some spicy, pungent, and crunchy goodness that always hits the spot. It's grated green papaya, tomatoes, and lime wedges that are mixed in a Thai sauce that contains fermented fish paste and fish sauce, with lots of thai bird peppers. It's definitely NOT for the faint of heart! The dish comes with some vermicelli and cabbage to cut the spicyness as well but I like to dip everything in the delicious sauce before taking a bite. When you order this salad and the warm meat salad the server should ask you how many chili peppers you want. For me, 3 is pretty spicy already, and I can handle my spice. If you want something more mild I would go with 1 or 2 peppers. The second dish I love from here is the warm meat salad with beef. It comes with lime juices, fish sauce, coriander, green onions, chilli peppers and Thai seasonings. The beef is cooked medium so it's never too chewy. It also comes with tripe as well, which isn't mentioned on the menu. This salad has a similar taste palette to the Laos style papaya salad so if you love that one you'll love this too. I should also mention that I ordered something similar (I thought!!!) to this at Khao San Road and the beef was SUPER overcooked and disgustingly chewy. In addition to the salads I always get the shrimp spring rolls (they sell out all the time!!!!) and the shrimp and chicken pad thai. These 4 things are my staples here. Parking is accessible right outside and they do take out as well as dine in. I usually call ahead when I take out as it takes about 20 minutes for them to prepare your order.

I was dining solo today, so I only ordered one dish: the Khao Soi Soft‑Shell Crab, which was marked as a recommended item on the menu. The curry noodle soup itself was delicious, with that classic Thai‑style sweet curry flavour. But the protein‑to‑noodle ratio was disappointing. It was a serious noodle overload, noodles in the soup plus a pile of crispy fried egg noodles on top. Carb coma incoming. The toppings were minimal: a few bean sprouts and a small fried soft‑shell crab. The crab was tasty, but overall the dish didn't feel like good value for the price. It's something I'm glad I tried once, but I'd move on to another dish next time.

He had the fried chicken wings & said they were delicious. When I arrived I ordered the beef pad thai. It came relatively quickly & was really delicious. I would definitely come back & try some other dishes. Service I was surprised that my husband & I were the only people in the restaurant. Hubby said that they had been doing mostly take out orders. In any case, service was attentive & polite. There was a young man who took my order and another lady who was preparing things around the restaurant. It was relaxed and a nice atmosphere. Ambiance It's very colourful inside the restaurant. The walls are painted with cute designs. I liked it. The washrooms are down the hall on the main level. I didn't like how cluttered that hallway is though. I hope they clear away some of the restaurant supplies from that hallway to the bathroom. The women's washroom was clean. However one of the cabinets in the washroom was full of dust on the top. It's kind of strange because the toilet & sink itself were very clean. Overall I think if they did a few improvements I would rate the ambiance of the restaurant better than 3.5. The food & service were otherwise really good here. Next time I'm in the area I will come back & try a different dish.

We came as a group of 5 on a Sunday night without reservation and was told the wait would be 30 minutes. Which was fine for us since it gave us time to look at the menu. The restaurant is located inside a dead Chinese mall so actually I was exploring it with a friend while the girls decided what to order lol. it's also important to note Koh Lipe is only Michelin recommended. They don't actually have a Michelin star so make sure you set your expectations accordingly. I'm only highlighting this because it seems like some reviewers are not aware of this. Service was very thoughtful. We were seated at a pretty small table but when a larger one opened up, they asked if we wanted to switch tables. For the main dishes, we ordered their Khao Pad (Pineapple Fried Rice), chicken Pad Thai, braised beef Mas Sa Man, Mee Puu(coconut curry with blue crab meat), and their Choo Chee Pla Too(curry mackerel) and a mango salad. Honestly the only thing that I was really wowed by was the Mas Sa Man. It is a braised beef dish with tamarind coconut red curry with peanuts and potatoes. I thought the beef was so flavorful and tender. The potatoes were also really soft. The Mee Puu which is what they are known for was decent as well. The pad thai and the Khao pad was just meh. It was good but just not too memorable. I didn't really enjoy the curry mackerel but I'm just not a big fan of mackerel. Also the curries are definitely spicy and I have a pretty high spice tolerance. I don't think my friends were able to really enjoy this meal. It was too spicy for them. For dessert, we ordered Thai coconut pancake, Thai tea toast and two of their mango sticky rice. the Thai coconut pancake was so delicious with a mochi like chew and fragrant coconut flavor that wasn't too sweet. It was perfect. the Thai tea toast was really sweet but the ice cream went really well after eating so much curry. It also had bits of crumbles which added such a perfect crunch and contrasting texture. The toast itself was a bit too chewy though and wasn't crispy enough. The mango sticky rice was good but wasn't really hitting the spot for me. Maybe I'm just not a big fan of mango sticky rice ? the rice was fragrant with coconut milk and the mangoes were ripe. Or maybe the sticky rice was just too heavy after eating such a heavy meal. We definitely didn't need to order 2 lol. Overall it was a decent meal for me. I don't really think we ordered what they are well known for so I would definitely come back and try other stuff. I also really liked the presentation of everything. I thought everything looked great and was so colorful. But I would say It is quite expensive since portion sizes are rather small. I don't remember the exact prices of everything but the bill came to around $209 before tips. They also accept Amex.
