    L10. Pad Thai

I had some grubhub credit I needed to use so decided to try Thai basil. To be honest I didn't know much about this place although I've seen it multiple times on the way to the gym and also have seen their downtown location. I am basic so I ordered the pad thai with chicken, medium spicy. I felt the noodles were dry and the spice level was very mild. Portion size was generous. Overall the flavor wasn't there for me so this was a miss. I also got the crab puff - they were very oily and not tasty, would skip in the future. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back.

Food was great. Perfect little hole in the wall restaurant. Service was just as good.

    Kiki loved her food choice!

Last Thursday my colleague and I needed some comfort food after she arrived from the Netherlands and I from L.A. We ordered take out, but upon picking it up decided to eat there. We sat in the cute outdoor seating area on a perfect night. The food was very good. The chicken satay was especially tasty as an appetizer. I had pad Thai with chicken, which was good and a huge portion (though not enough peanuts on the side)-- plenty for dinner the following night, too. My colleague had green curry with tofu and loved it. Also a huge portion. Plus, the staff were very nice and perfectly timed their visits to refill water. If you're looking for good Thai food in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere, this is a nice spot.

Had the yellow chicken curry during lunch and it was delicious. Good amount of chicken and veggies. The jasmine rice was aromatic and I can smell it right when I open my bag. The rice was delicious too. The egg roll was good and didn't know it came with it so it was a cool surprise. I ordered through uber eats so I didn't read lol. I feel like it was good deal for $15 and very filling. The choose hot and it had a good heat to it.

This was a tough one. As a Thai person it was hard to eat what I ordered. The Pad Thai was missing ingredients and made incorrectly, pad see ew was not done correctly either. Bottom line is, the cook needs to really know how to make the traditional dishes correctly. I was definitely disappointed in the food, tasteless. Service was good, the servers were attentive. They didn't cook the food.

    Perfect fried rice!

This is the cutest, coziest and most delicious Thai Basil I've ever frequented. We visited for lunch on Friday and they did an amazing job. We were in and out in 30 minutes. The servers are super friendly. Will be returning

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 for very different ratings between the two dishes #37 Peanut Curry (Panang) with beef at mild spicy level - 5/5. The coconut and peanut flavoring was great since it was a bit sweet with a nutty aftertaste. The broccoli and zucchini were soft without being mushy but it was a bit sparse in protein. #44 Pad-See-Ew with pork at Thai hot spicy level - 2/5. The noodles were cooked well and the spicy level was great but there was not much flavoring to the dish overall other than the spice. The protein was a bit lacking and it just felt like we were eating spicy noodles with vegetables overall Ambience: n/a - ordered food to go. Loud oriental ambience music was playing right as you walk through the door but it's reasonable once you're no longer in the entranceway. Love the little kiosk front at the cash register Service: 5/5 - the younger cashier was really friendly and processed all the people coming in and out with a smile. There were 5 pick up orders within the 10 minutes we were there waiting for our food. Value for price: 4/5 - friendly service and reasonable pricing. The food flavoring differs heavily based on the dish you order

Well I suppose it was a matter of time before my luck ran out at Thai Basil. Today was my first order from this location. I ordered my usual pad Thai with chicken through Door Dash. It arrived with the box open so the food was not even remotely hot upon arrival. It was completely inedible to me due to the amount of fish sauce. I tried pawning it off to my sister and she agrees that it is inedible. We both order Thai food several times a month. This time was a total waste of money and I'm now still hungry.

I'm Chinese and I know this is Thai food but they put what tasted like my dad's home cooked minced pork in sui mai and it just wasn't right. Other than that, every noodle dish, every fried dish, and serving the Thai iced tea in clay mugs was really awesome. Glad we came here and waited.

The wings were crispy and addictive, the dumplings were excellent, and both noodle dishes hit the spot. The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant also has a cool, hipster-style vibe that feels unique without trying too hard. My only small critique is that the lunch portions felt a little light, especially compared to the Thai spot back home that I've been spoiled by. The food quality absolutely made up for it, but I found myself wishing there was just a bit more on the plate. Overall, I'd happily come back. Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. If you're looking for authentic Thai flavors and a place with personality, Glai Baan is worth a visit.

It's a small plate type of restaurant and we tried 5 different ones: 1-egg noodles with pork belly...delicious!!! The pork belly pieces were so tender and the noodles were perfect. 2-fried bamboo with sweet chili sauce...amazing! I would love to have a bag of these and just eat them like chips while watching TV...LOL! 3-stir-fry bok choy with tofu in a garlicky sauce...one of our biggest surprises of the evening! What a wonderful way to eat your greens, along with the most flavorful tofu I've ever had. (We actually ordered it twice.) 4-scallop crudo with garlic and lemon sauce...refreshing! I'm not a big scallop person, but these were so fresh and so good! 5-fried chicken with a sweet/savory dipping sauce...very good! The chicken came like wings, very crispy and juicy. Everything we had was incredible! Unfortunately, I'm allergic to curry and mango, so our choices were somewhat limited. I'm just glad we were able to find these dishes that were so awesome. The only downside is the parking. It's street parking, but there are a bunch of apartments all around, so the spots were very limited. There are some pay parking lots, but they're pretty far from the restaurant. Hubby drove around and did find a spot about a block and a half down a side street. But, to be honest, it was a nice little walk back to the car after eating. What a fun time and a delectable experience!!

My husband is a vegetarian so we ordered the following Section 1-NAW TAWT-fried bamboo. This was really good with a hint of spice but a lot for 2 people. We took some home and it held up great and crisped right back up in air fryer. Section 2-PAD KWANG TOON-stir-fried bok choy and tofu. This was so so. Not overly flavorful. Section 2-KAENG PHET FAK TAWNG-squash and eggplant curry. This had good flavor. Section 3-YAM SAI BAI-seaweed salad. I wouldn't have ordered this but my husband wanted to try it. It was amazing. The best thing we had. Really good flavors. Again a bit much for 2 people so we took it home and had some the next day. Also held up well. It's definitely worth checking out but make sure you make reservations. It's small and popular!

As a proud Yelp Elite, I decided to give this place a chance because the reviews were the best I saw in the city! The place was busy on a Sunday night and it is small but I never say customers waiting too long. There were two larger parties seated so the food took some time but nothing outrageous. We started with the calamari, spring rolls, and crab wontons. The calamari were the biggest I've ever seen and very delicious! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spring rolls or crab wontons. I feel like those are hard to get wrong but I was not a fan of the cream cheese that was used and it was a lot of it, barely any imitation crab. For entrees, I had the spicy basil and substituted ground chicken for chicken breast, my personal preference. I ordered level 2 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me. Trying a new Thai place is always hit or miss with spice levels so I actually thought I was being safe with 2. Additionally, the chicken was so bland. Some Thai places season their chicken, some do not and unfortunately Pad Thai Cafe missed that mark. My partner ordered the short rib curry dish and my goodness, it smelled like heaven and tasted just as good. I don't eat beef but had to taste it and it was divine! He also ordered spice level 2 and his dish was not as spicy as mine. Overall, the rest of the party enjoyed their food and there were good flavors there so I'd definitely recommend the entrees, not so much the starters.
