    Pad Thai

Could be the best Thai restaurant in Springfield, so if you think this isn't that good, that's a bummer. It has most of the classics. Thai Basil is located on the northeast side of town. Find it in a strip mall. Yes that's correct, this is strip mall Thai for those wondering. Besides the food is the piss poor atmosphere. It's lame. There's the sticky cold tables. Almost no music or ambience. No wonder most people get carryout. Of course that's what we did too. Food was better than it looked. We got the Pad Thai. It was about $10 for a good amount. This came with eggs, which we left off. It also came with a protein choice. We got tofu. It was kind of dry. This was because it was all overcooked. Even so it had good spice in it. That's the best we can say. For sure good Thai is too hard to get around here. It's not available here but this does have a few good things about it. There's lots of choices for vegans and vegetarians.

This was an unexpected surprise in Springfield. This was great, fresh tasting Asian food that hit the spot after a day of traveling and sightseeing. This is a restaurant that you would miss if you weren't looking for it. Set in an unassuming strip mall, this restaurant is full of character once you go inside. Thai Basil had a big menu full of a variety of Asian food that is familiar and unfamiliar, pleasing a wide range of taste buds. I had the pho and my husband had the shrimp pad Thai. The pho tasted devine since I hadn't had any in a while. The ingredients were fresh and the basil was aromatic. The shrimp pad Thai was sweet and the shrimp were huge. The servers were very nice and friendly. We were there on a Sunday evening and it wasn't very crowded, but it should be. This is a hidden gem in Springfield that more people should know about.

This food was AMAZING last night. Ordered Uber eats and EVERYTHING was soooo good!! I have a very limited diet and had specific request on my order! They accommodated all my needs and my order was cooked PERFECTLY!! The tofu was crispy tofu and sliced!!! I ordered a 3 out 10 and spice was PERFECT!! My order arrived HOT and QUICK!!! I live in Las Vegas and this is the best Thai dish I have had in quite some time!! So THANK YOU!! I will definitely be back

Thai basil is a consistently yummy Thai spot on the east side of Springfield, across from Walmart. I decided to dine in today and I am glad I did! Service is friendly but not overbearing, tables are clean and music quietly plays in the background. I got the eggplant dish which comes with ACTUAL Thai basil....yummy. Fresh, not a TON of oil (very minimal actually which I appreciate) and flavorful. Their takeout is nice as well-never had any incorrect orders.

Hungry during a mid afternoon shopping trip on North Dirksen brought us to Thai Basil for the first time. It was bright and cheery, a pleasant decor to stay and eat. I ordered baby spring rolls, Thai sweet tea with cream, and mango shrimp, all very tasty. Friendly staff.

A solid option on the North Dirksen strip. Nothing fancy, but a simple and comfortable stop, whether passing by on I-55 or from anywhere in the Springfield area. Very much a family run restaurant feel with attentive service. Food is fresh and pretty simple. Appetizer soup was a good-sized pirtion and served very hot (nice on a cold damp evening). The salmon was good but swimming in too much sweet chili garlic sauce for me. The sauce overpowered everything else in the dish. Dine in or carry out.

I have been here twice through DoorDash and both times I have got no utensils and no condiments meaning soy sauce or anything just food. Also, food is too expensive and not enough food.

Amazing lunch find in Springfield! Who knew IL could do Thai so well! We ordered the green curry and spicy basil. Mango rice to go. The food tastes very authentic and very fresh. The restaurant is very clean in side and there was not much of a wait when I went. For two people the total was only $33. That included: 2 entrees, 2 jasmine teas, 2 mango sticky rice & 1 tomyum veggie soup. Service was a bit slow and that's where the 4/5 comes from. Other than that the food was top notch

My family of four visited on a Saturday night driving through on vacation. We had the green curry and a couple of fried rice dishes. AMAZING AND SPICY curry. Perfect heat and blend of vegetables. Love the interior; modern and different from other Asian restaurants. Would definitely come back on our way through Springfield.

Love this place! We come here at least three times a week and I would say it's definitely one of the better Thai restaurants in Springfield!

Always my go to for takeout in Springfield. It is consistently delicious although their smoothies have been lacking in flavor lately.

I love Thai food, so when we drove past this place I decided to look at the menu. I was immediately…read moreintrigued to see the photos of the pineapple rice that were posted. I decided to place an order... such a mistake! Starting with placing the order. I inquired about what came in the rice - carrots, onion, pineapple, bell pepper, and choice of meat. I asked about green onion and I was told it was $3 up-charge-- wow, for slices of green onion vs white onion?!? Price gauging Ok whatever, I proceed with placing my order-- 40 min!! Now, I live in a busier city than this and I've been to major cities, this amount of time is a bit ridiculous. I should have just canceled then, but my sister said their food is good, so I stayed the course. Arrived to pick up my order and stood there for about 2-3 min while the man took phone orders. I get it, but at minimum acknowledge your customer. My total was $17.95 for rice... I asked for chili sauce and he said $1 for a small side, peanut sauce $5, and soy sauce $.50... these are not reasonable up charges at all! A packet of soy sauce is customary. It smells good so, let's get to the food. It's an orange-y color with pieces of pineapple and super chunks of green pepper and onion -- The flavor is ok, not impressive at all! The presentation of the rice is NOTHING like the photos. The pineapples are sweet, but I noticed a couple of bad pineapples (they were brown and soggy!). I wouldn't recommend and I probably won't come to this place again. Poor quality, poor service... I'm guessing the only thing that must be keeping this place in business is the lack of Thai options here. Shame!
