Do you ever visit a place you almost hate to review because you want to keep it as your own secret, but you know deep down inside, the owners and staff deserve the increased business? This is that kind a place. It's an unassuming Thai restaurant in a strip mall near a Navy base, but the food is absolutely out of this world if you like Thai. It's good enough that my parents, who came with me here when they were in town, have spent many hours over repeated attempts to duplicate Thai Best's version of Tom Yum Soup and have given them the motivation to read and research how to make such a great version. I have been coming here since 2017, a dedicated customer no doubt, and just recently I went for lunch and was so disappointed! I realized that the crew was new and when I asked, they said they are under new ownership and the way they prepare their food was "different and better" according to one of the workers. I normally order the same things because I'm a creature of habit. I got the Tom Kha soup with chicken and mushrooms and that was the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth! Recently I had lunch at this restaurant and the service was horrible. The waitress was very rude and disrespectful. When I she returned with my order, I tried to inform her that it was not what I ordered and she basically told me to shut up and that I didn't know what I was talking about. After "correcting me" she went back to the kitchen, we could hear bragging to the cook/owner about how she put me in my place. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I told her I would keep the dish, since it was not bad, even though it was not what I ordered. However, I knew if I did send it back, they probably would have done something to my food. The food is descent in this place, don't get me wrong, but the waitress was the worst waitress I have ever encountered in my years of eating out. No tip for her, other than learn how to speak to your customers. read more

Great food and service! When I first walked in, I was a little thrown off by the place. I had a lot of water damage in the ceiling and gave the impression of being dirty. We were starving so we sat down to eat and give it a try regardless. I went to use the restaurant and It was spotless. Also on the way to the restroom walked by the kitchen and that also was spotless. I ordered a very specific dish because I am trying to cut back on oil and they got the order perfectly. Ordered dinner from Uber Eats: Tofu Pad Thai, Tofu Massaman Curry, Sticky Rice with Mango. Overall, good. I asked for a bit of spice in the meals, and they were both well balanced. The Pad Thai was on the sweeter side and a very small portion size. I usually have leftovers from other places that serve theirs in the Styrofoam container, but I finished this off in one sitting. I'm dissapointed with this fact. I liked the Massaman Curry. Good flavor and balance of tofu and veggies, etc. This also felt like a smaller serving than I'm used to. Sticky rice was good. read more

Beautiful looking food that is just not very beautiful tasting. Thai guy here. I'm saddened to write this review because I typically don't try to make reviews like this. With that said, maybe down the road I can try this place again, and the results will opposite. I also understand and appreciate all the efforts during Covid, and the fact take out food is never as good as dining in. This just wasn't the case. The food just wasn't good. The Lard Na was very watery, and the amount of noodles provided was paltry (considering how much you pay for it). Compared to every other Thai place here, this place gives you the least. And 13 dollars wasted. The shrimp fried rice was just plain. I can't say it any other way. Very under flavored and some of the peas tasted like they weren't cooked all the way. Another 13 dollars wasted. The Papaya salad was just aweful. Beautiful looking yes, but at first bite, just terrible. The Papaya was flavored with what tasted like just lemon/lime juice and nothing else. I tried to eat a couple more bites thinking maybe deeper in the bowl, it would taste better. It did not. I ordered the general Thai chicken, egg rolls,and it came with rice that was mush. For the money it cost I won't be coming back,and wouldn't ever recommend. It had 5 pieces of chicken,the sauce was like soup,the veggies were all soggy,but at least the egg rolls were edible. Lesson learned read more

Love this place, Mom and pop all the way! Food is always fresh and very flavorful. The prices and service are incredible. The owners do everything-cook, serve etc and def embrace a family environment. Husband always gets the duck-his favorite and I've had just about everything at least once on the menu. Ordered delivery fulfilled by Grubhub, which we received quickly, the food was still warm and was well packaged for the transit so nothing spilled or leaked. We ordered the spicy Thai noodles with chicken, basil spicy fried rice level 3 and spring rolls. Sadly the pad thai and rice were not spicy at all. I thought at a level 3 it would be that nice middle ground of not too hot but still some heat, but there was no heat at all. So I wonder if the level 5 would even be spicy? The food had good flavor though and was freshly made, the portion sizes were also a nice size and we had some left overs for the next day. The cost is pretty comparable to other Thai restaurants. Although the food wasn't spicy like we were expecting I would try again and order a level 5! read more

I decided to try this place after a quick Yelp search. It was a nice, small dine-in restaurant. I called to place my order for carry-out and received good customer service. My order was ready in the time given to me. I wanted to be safe, so I ordered the Spicy Pad Thai with Chicken lunch special. I normally don't order Pad Thai because it's never been one of my favorite dishes. I was surprised that it was very flavorful. I would order Pad Thai from this location again. I frequent this establishment for lunch but today I was disappointed. I ordered takeout and arrived within 15min as said when the order would be ready. I ordered the green curry fried rice. I have had this many times previously but today the rice was extremely over cooked and was almost one solid mound of rice. I ordered one of the specials they had listed - spicy chicken. I got a water to drink (because I'm cheap). The waiter was wearing a retired Navy shirt (Go Navy) which makes me happy. Anyway, they started me off with three cream cheese rangoon that were absolutely amazing. The sauce (I don't know the names of any Thai food) was sweet and slightly spicy. It was so delicious. The entree was a heaping mound of rice sitting in a pool of sauce and a pile of chicken, bamboo shoots, onion, and bell peppers. There was a distinct curry flavor and the sauce definitely had coconut milk added to the mix. This dish was amazing. So good. It was nice and spicy, but not too bad. And it was a whole lot of stuff to eat. I managed to finish it all, but I had to crawl out of the store. Overall, I give this place 4 stars. Great service. Very friendly (and Navy). The food was excellent. The prices were reasonable. My one and only complaint was that the a/c wasn't working that great so it was a sweat-fest while I was scarfing down that spicy chicken.
