Very cute spot! The absolute kindest and attentive service. Came during a busy lunch rush. The food was delicious, the only downside was being a bit disappointed with the portion size when compared to other establishments/cost. Would love to come back and try other dishes!

One of the best Thai places in town. One word- delicious! The staff is really friendly and remember their customers' preferences- like they always remember my hubby likes the spicy dried pepper flakes. Every dish we've had has been really good. Our favorites are the curry and the pad woon sen and their spring rolls are a MUST have. Would highly recommend- stop by and enjoy this little special place.

Up close and personal with my Pad Thai. I took everything to go, so please forgive my poor plating.

We ordered for pick up as my parents requested that we order for pick up for our Sunday meal. This was the perfect place to keep the entire family happy. My grandpa had a rib fish with steamed veggies, perfectly seasoned for his taste buds. My dad and I both ordered a pad Thai, one medium and one hot. Our decision was that medium was great for someone who enjoys spice, but doesn't want to break out the milk. The hot was delicious, but did require some tissues and a glass of milk :) Every appetizer we tried was delicious! The panko chicken, wings, and pot stickers were each a 10/10. This restaurant takes pride in their product and it shows. The food is always on point. You should absolutely pick Thai Buri the bevy time you are craving Thai food.

Best Thai in San Antonio without a doubt! Walking in feels like a cozy French café with Thai smells. The staff here are very friendly and care about your comfort, they sat us at a table making sure the sun wasn't in our eyes. The menu has tons of pictures and great descriptions to help you if you are unsure. I always get Khao Soi. Everywhere makes it different and this place really stands out. This is my second favorite bowl on earth. So many flavors, with the perfect balance of salty, sweet, spicy, and sour. Make sure to check this place out if you are looking for authentic Thai flavors and wonderful service.

Highlights: Great ambiance and attentive service. Tom kha was solid. But overall the food was underseasoned, our pork belly overcooked, and pretty expensive for the quality and lack of flavor. The presentation was at least nice.

Amazing food! Papaya Pad Thai, crispy tofu, and Thai Basil Crispy Pork Belly (all pictured) were fantastic. Service was excellent. This was on our list for awhile and I'm glad we finally stopped on. Unique Thai dishes on the menu, can't wait to go back!

After way too long, I was finally able to get back to try this place. Don't be deceived by the sweet ambiance, because the spicy is in the food. I loved the green chicken curry, my lips are still tingling and I got the medium. I will go back with my fam next time so we can try multiple things and enjoy the dining area. All the servers were friendly and efficient.

Another amazing meal!! We started with a new menu item. The Tom Yum Dumpling. So Delicious. We order the Kow Basil Crispy Duck. The skin had a nice crisp to it. The meat was tender. The last item we ordered was the Kow Pad combo.. this fried rice was flavorful and a must order for next time.

The small, dry, poorly prepared dishes. NOT WORTH ALMOST $40!!!
    Michele K.

DO NOT order online, or if you do- Make sure you double check that your food is prepared properly before leaving the restaurant. I had ordered two dishes, Kow Pad and Pad See Ew. The rice in the Kow Pad was incredibly dry, and barely edible. The Pad See Ew was made with the wrong type of noodle. (This dish is traditionally made with wide rice noodles. The noodles in this "Pad See Ew" waste tiny and absolutely not satisfying!) Food tasted as if it had been sitting out and then warmed up in a microwave. Portions were small for the price. REALLY disappointing. Will not be eating for this establishment again.

My fiancé and I love this place! We come here as often as we can. We LOVE the Penang curry. It's the best we've ever had. The employees are so kind. (They have our order remembered at this point so they start it as soon as we get there ) Hidden gem!

This used to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants in town. Unfortunately my last visit was not the same. For some reason all of the food tasted sweet and not much flavor like it used to be. I hope they did not change the chef or just an off night. The service is quick and friendly and the restaurant itself is super cute. Definitely has a Thai feel to it. I truly hope they bring back the flavors the way it used to be

Try, in this given year to frequent a place maybe minutes from you. I am surrounded by spots I have never tried before. I am guilty of passing up a business based on its facade. Soups & Rolls definitely fits in this category. As I stated in my last review some of the best flavors in the city reside in the most precarious places. This place, which provides flavorful Vietnamese and Chinese fare is no different. It is another place in the Westside that quietly makes fantastic food. It used to be a Central American restaurant but in this area nothing is permanent. When I went the mistake was parking in the back. Not a problem, as I went to the proper entrance. In my opinion the age of Instagram and Tik Tok has aided bias on the part of the patron. Customers are seeking places that have an ambience to document their experiences. Via photoworthy posts on social media or selfies. So much so the meal becomes secondary or an afterthought. If you are expecting a giant dragon with waterfalls or a modern lighting that highlights the room you will not find it. Its table and seating is very humble, as the owners. We sat down and one of the friendly servers took our orders. Their menu is extensive with pho, lemongrass chicken, spring rolls etc. In addition they do carry some Chinese dishes in case you aren't into Vietnamese fare. But what cruel human being wouldn't be? I have always wanted to try a bahn mi for the longest time.. The thing is I'm not into pork. The owner suggested a beef one. I ordered that and a mango boba tea. My partner ordered spring rolls and a bowl of vermicelli. No sooner was I looking at the tiger painting on their wall did all food items arrive. Everything was hot and fresh. The bahn mi was gigantic. It was a huge french hoagie roll stuffed with beef, carrots and cilantro. I must confess I'm not a fan of cilantro but it fit here perfectly. The meat was tender and flavorful. It came with accompanying fries. I tried my partner's spring rolls and they were some of the best I have ever had. The rolls were fried with an equally flavorful filling. In addition the mango boba was really good. I like the consistency of mine to be thick. If I stick my straw into the boba and it stands straight up I know it is good. The chef came from the kitchen to check on us. He tried to explain that the bahn mi and the torta are very similar. But then again most cuisines share a commonality. I understand people's hesitancy to try a place in precarious neighborhoods. I implore you to try a place in your locale. If not, and you are up for an adventure please check out "Soups & Rolls" in the Westside. The service and food are both excellent. Next time I'm getting that big bowl of Pho with extra Sriracha sauce. First, I have to learn how to properly pronounce it.

The entree came out before the appetizers. The spicy noodle soup was spicy (as named) and it was good, but it was incredibly oily and the noodles were overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)
