Put clear instructions for online delivery, however the delivery person appeared to be very annoyed and was rude when he came to deliver because in spite of the instructions he went to the wrong address!! My food is always quality and authentic as far as Thai can come in the U.S. Like the others, I concur that there are far too many pizza joints in this city. But was still quite delicious. Last night I ordered the Beef Satay and the Mango Curry. Both were delicious. I also ordered the steamed noodles which are a good addition to any dish. I am SO excited there is yummy Thai food in Melrose! I eat Thai a lot and this makes my life so much better, since I pretty much live down the street AND they deliver if I'm feeling extra lazy. I've ordered from here twice - once I called in an order and picked it up and the other time I just went right in, ordered and waited - both times took less than 20 minutes. I've had a few different things here and all have been very good. Thai rolls were excellent! I give it 4 out of 5 stars because I have had slightly better thai food, but this is really very very good and perfect for a quick to go meal. Also, I found out their thai iced tea is made with light cream - so it's not as bad for you as many other places. Order it - it's great and only $2.50! read more

I recently moved back to the "mean streets of Melrose" and just knew that anytime I would have to order take out it would be a miserable experience.....As other people have mentioned, there are way too many fake Pizza places and gross Sub Shops here. While I will admit that Melrose has changed in a lot of positive ways since I left here in 1994/1995......I did notice that there was a definite need for more ethnic and artisan type eateries. Spice Thai Kitchen is a breath of fresh air.Located next to one of my old school, greasy spoon, stoner friendly, morning stops ERNIES, I was really excited to see the sign for what appeared to be a real Thai place.....not just a Chinese take out place that pretended to have authentic Thai. My friend who is a vegetarian ordered the Siam String Bean with tofu which was delicious. Tofu is one of those things that texturally has to be spot on. There is nothing worse than mushy tofu. It had amazingly generous spice and the fresh green beans were REALLY fresh and zippy. We ordered off of the Special Lunch plate so the dish came with steamed rice and was a really large portion. She also ordered the Chiangmai Noodle , which comes with yellow curry egg noodle, crush peanut and fried shallot. The staff was more than happy to substitute the chicken and used tofu and pineapple. You could drink that sauce straight out of a cup, it was THAT delicious. I love places that really aren't shy about spice. If the name of your place is SPICE THAI KITCHEN, It's nice to notice your not watering it down for the people who have no desire for such things. I ordered the Mango Curry with chicken from the Lunch Plate section of the menu. Yellow curry is one of my favorite things. The heat was perfect and the mango was really fresh and delicious. At $7.50 per plate, it might seem a little pricey at first, but when you see the generous size of the portions, you will be thrilled. You could easily have made 2-3 meals out of that dish. I also ordered the steamed shumai. I love shumai and although it wasn't necessarily the best shumai I have ever had....It was still killer. It didn't taste frozen, which is a complaint I have of most places. On a side note....ALL SEASONS TABLE has my favorite steamed shumai of all time. We opted to sit inside but ideally this is a take out and delivery place as therer is only one table. The person behind the counter was friendly, and attentive and the place was very clean and smelled aromatic throughout. I got take out the other day. I called ahead and it was ready in 15 mins, the service was very good. Their spring rolls are very fresh and probably the best I've ever had. I got their vegetable fried rice which was filling, a good mixture of veggies and egg but very healthy. My girlfriend got the chicken version and loved it and we shared a curry dish that really is more Indian than Thai. I would definately recommend their curry though. All in all, a good place for some standard Thai and over ally Spicy food. read more

Well round 2 at the Spice Thai was better than the first! This time we had the Pad Thai and Mango Curry and called ahead and got through. Everything was good, my only complaint was that the curry dish didnt come with rice!? If your going to eat curry it should come with rice! We recently moved and the struggle to find a decent Thai place has been real. Small place, perfect for take out. Super friendly staff,and the food was great. We ordered a drunken noodles and a pad Thai, I personally liked the drunken noodles way better but both were very good. I really enjoyed the chocolate fortune cookies too. Excellent Thai food - we get takeout from here every few weeks. I generally get the pad thai, either regular or tofu, and honestly prefer the tofu - nothing wrong with the regular, just appreciate a place that can cook tofu well. Also, the Thai iced tea is one of my favorite indulgences. When the weather is nice, we walk over here to get takeout. Excited to hear that they may be opening a second location in town, on Main Street, which hopefully will have seating (there are a few tables at this location, but it's more a convenience than anything). read more

Its a take-out / delivery restaurant on Franklin St, but the quality of the food is quite high. I gauge thai restaurants based on their Pad Thai. By that measure this restaurant deserves four out of five stars. The food is great, the staff is friendly and engaging. Its easy to park & move on. I ordered delivery from grubhub and accidentally chose the wrong lunch special. It was only after they delivered it and I opened my meal that I realized my mistake!! Key word there is MY mistake! I called them and without hesitation they sent me the meal I meant to order. All I had to pay was the $2 delivery charge which is no biggie at all!! Also, an update on the prices, they're not so bad depending on what you get. Our bill was $26, because we both got more common straightforward items (this included a side of rice). We ordered the drunken noodles, basil fried rice, basil chicken, papaya salad, tom ka gai soup, and got the pad Thai for free for meeting a specific dollar amount. The reviews is what made us pick this place. However it was a disaster. The order arrived 1.5 hours later, when we were told 30 to 35 minutes when placing the order. I called the restaurant at the hour mark and the lady who answered was very rude about it. I asked very politely where my order was and she said "not here. He left 15 minutes ago hell there when he does." So I asked "what would happen if my food was cold!?" And she said "it can't be cold." And hung up ... Okay then... Now, let's get onto the food. The food was semi-warm. Nothing was spicy (which we asked for it to be extra spicy.) the drunken noodles and pad thai were completely dry. No kind of sauce/liquid in them which made them stick together in clumps and flavourless. The chicken was overly cooked making it very chewy and dry as well. And the soup was like they took a can of coconut milk and threw in some chopped mushrooms, a pound of sugar (yes it was sickeningly sweet) and dried up chicken, and decided to call it soup. Disgusting doesn't even begin to explain that disaster. The rice was so dry it was crunch. Must have been days old and just heated under a lamp. Not sure how else rice gets that disgustingly crunchy. And that's one dish they loaded with soya sauce. That's all we could taste. And what's up with loading all the dishes with frozen peas?! I swear some of them were still raw/frozen. And It was like 20 peas a bite. I picked out all the peas and they need a large container of their own, that's how many there were!!!! Worst. Experience. Ever. The only reason why this even gets a star was because the papaya salad was half decent and, well, it's the only way you're able to review places. It gets half a star for the papaya salad. Everything else was horrible. We're headed down the street to get a decent pizza because none of this was edible enough to be satisfying. Waste of money. read more

We waited for a minute and a delivery driver came in, looked at us, grabbed some food, and then walked out without saying anything. We then say two people in the back. It is such a treat to have excellent sit-down Thai food in Melrose! Have now been there three times, enjoyed the food each time, typically full house. Service last time was meh -- the busboy who brought our dishes should take away all the empty plates and ask for a drink order; or waitress should stop by more often. Spring rolls were FROZEN and then fried, very amateur. \ Spicy Pad Thai was good at first but it was way too spicy, I am talking SUPER spicy. The spice took over the food, again very amateur. Crispy Pad Tai - was a bunch of crispy noodles in a pool of fat. _The chix wings were all fat, you know those wings that's have the yellow layer under the skin....it was so gross. It's a solid Thai restaurant. My husband and I like the Pad Thai and Spice Papaya Salad Set (excellent flavors despite the disconcerting bundle of rice in saran wrap). The seafood soups are tasty, especially Tom Yum and Tom Ka Ta Lay, but they usually could use more pieces of shrimp each time I order them. We just had the mango fried rice, which was a little oiler than expected. Also, there are too many "crispy" chicken dishes, which means chicken deep fried in batter....I'm hoping they're not doing that because it's the suburbs! I ordered $40.00 worth of food and I was supposed to get the Chicken and Broccoli dish for free. when They delivered the food, I noticed that the bill was higher that I calculated. I called to ask what happened, I women on the phone tried to tell me that I did not specify that I was expecting the free dish and she charged me for it.The reaction from the person answering the phone surprised me. She actually trying to get me to say it is OK for her to keep my money.I told her, if I don't get my refund , I will call my credit card company and have the payment stopped. Just tried this today, 8/15. What a disappointment. Thai spring rolls, ehhh, nothing special. The Tom Gah soup was not good, way too sweet. Pad see eew did not really have much flavor.
