My lunch w/ pad see euw w/ pork
    Toni M.

Nina and I met here for lunch today. We had tried to meet last week but they were closed for kitchen maintenance, so we ended up across the street. Today they were open and when I arrived Nina was sitting at a table w/ menus, a pot of tea and a dish of grapes in front of her. Mam led me to the table. I knew I wanted pad see euw w/ pork since I hadn't had it in a while. Nina opted for eggplant w/ pork from the lunch menu. Mam offered her a choice of ground pork or sliced and she chose sliced. There was also a dish of candied pistachios on the table and we snacked on those and the grapes until our meals came. The grapes were incredibly sweet and Nina said Mam had told her they were candy something. When our meals came we both loved them. They were both full of vegetables and were just what we wanted. You can see from the photos. After lunch we asked Mam about the grapes and she said they were called Candy Dream and were from Peru. She said the purple ones were better than the rest. When Nina expressed interest she gave us some and then offered to go to Costco, an offer Nina appreciated but declined. Mam walked me to the bathroom then out to my car. She is so lovely and makes me feel so cared about.

Service is really friendly, the lady was very attentive and very friendly :). The restaurant is really cute and in a nice area. I got the Lunch special red curry and it was so delish!! It came with a small side salad with a sesame type dressing. 8.5/10!

We eat a lot of Thai food and this is definitely one of the best! We had lunch as pictured and they bring a beautiful plate of food! White meat chicken with nice size prawns. Food is so fresh and delicious! I can wait to try more of the menu

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. I grew up in a Lao household and a family Thai Restaurant, therefore I'm always looking for food that either reminds me of home or widens my pallet. Not only does this restaurant provide quality and flavorful meals made with love, but it feels like home too. One of the employees named, "Mam", is such a sweetheart and never fails to warm up the space. I have gone to Thai Corner four times since December & each time has been extremely memorable. I recommend this place to all of my loved ones & to anyone who's looking to try gorgeous South East Asian flavors!!!!! I order new items whenever I go, and each meal has filled me with joy. The whole team fills me with happiness and I'm so grateful for this gem. I look forward to eating here at least once a month! Honorable mention meals: Thai Corner Special Curry (Braised Beef) Crispy Fried Chicken Rice Rice Claypot All dishes are so yummy and appreciated!

We decided to try this place because it got good reviews on Yelp and I am always looking for a good Thai place. The food was great. Everything we had was good and the service was also good. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** No Khao Mun Gai at this Thai spot? OK, I'll live, but I did have my hopes up since its hippy-yuppy Westbrae location made me think poached chicken might be a local favorite to eat. I've seen this newish spot walking in the neighborhood but like every other restaurant on my mental wish list, the pandemic has allowed me - and everyone else - only the opportunity of experiencing delivery from them. I decided to order dinner for Jamie W. and me one evening, and we weren't disappointed. First things first, we went with the $8.75 Fresh Rolls for an appetizer because that's our go-to, hand-rolled rice paper stuffed with braised tofu, vermicelli noodles, carrot, cucumber, and lettuce, accompanied by the requisite peanut sauce and house dressing (photo: https://bit.ly/38mQeRC). Hit the spot. Check. Next came my Khao Mun Gai substitute, the $14 Garlic Chicken. The dish instead consisted of marinated chicken seasoned with garlic and pepper and served with cucumber slices and sriracha sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/3ph7YEX). It was tasty and close enough to meet my craving. Last was the $14 Som Tum Salad, the classic dish of shredded green papaya mixed in their house dressing with cherry tomatoes, green beans, peanuts, and a few grilled prawns (photo: https://bit.ly/34EyyQt). Good stuff even without the poached poultry. FOOD - 4 stars...Thai classics well turned AMBIANCE - n/a...gee, I don't know, never been there SERVICE - 4 stars...timely and well packed TOTAL - 4 stars...more than just a corner RELATED - Hungry for Thai? The rib was definitely the most impressive part of the dish. Not only was it huge and very Instagrammable, but it was also extremely tender--kind of like braised oxtail, but served in a cleaner, lighter broth. The daikon balanced out the richness of the meat really well, and overall, I'd say this was a very satisfying meal. The beef and tomato lo mein, on the other hand, was probably closer to a 2.5/5. The dish leaned heavily on the tomato flavor, only had a few pieces of meat, and definitely needed additional seasoning, such as soy sauce, white pepper, or something to bring more depth. One thing that could be improved is the ordering experience. Their tablet system felt a bit cheap, and it was difficult to clearly see what each dish looked like on the screen. Providing a printed menu alongside the tablet would be really helpful.

Growing up in Wisconsin in a small city at the tip of Lake Superior Chinese restaurants were just about the only ethnic food available throughout the country. Exotic as they may seem to have been and widespread Nationally which is partly due to the Chinese building the railroads cross country. Chicago Cafe (Woodland, CA): Founded in 1903, academic research suggests this spot near Sacramento is the oldest continuously operating Chinese restaurant in the U.S. and California. These days I prefer Vietnamese or Thai all day long because the flavors are better and more variety and cleaner with respect to how the dishes are prepared. Well, I stumbled into this spot today and I was rather blown away. Large portions, low prices, excellent variety and top notch service. And a huge portion for only $13.95. I had the vegetable rice, complementary hot sauce and a nice iced cold five dollar Heineken. OK, this is a spot to put on your list. See you there!!! And now here are some interesting factoids: While thousands of Chinese immigrants first came to the U.S. to build the transcontinental railroad in the 1800s, it was the subsequent decades of legal discrimination that forced a marginalized community to turn the restaurant industry into their primary means of survival and citizenship. The "Lo Mein Loophole": In the early 20th century, U.S. courts recognized restaurant ownership as a pathway to obtain merchant visas. This loophole sparked a massive boom in the creation of Chinese restaurants, particularly luxury "chop suey palaces".
