To be honest, the first 2 months that we lived in Olney we thought the restaurant was closed because every time we called we'd get a busy signal. Turns out they're just always taking orders. The food is pretty good, we've liked everything we've had so far. More importantly they're super accommodating when it comes to making changes/alterations to an order. Thai Cuisine re-located to this plaza. The restaurant is much larger and well-decorated with a nice causal dine-in ambiance. The servers were all very kind and prompt, checking in an appropriate # of times. Appetizers: 1) Fish cakes (thad mun) - mildly spicy, delicious, relatively authentic. Could have come with more dipping sauce. 2) Chicken satay - the peanut sauce was DELICIOUS. Came with a slice of white bread which I liked. Entrees (family style): 1) Shrimp pad thai was absolutely delicious. Moist, flavorful, and relatively authentic. Shrimp was large, but could use more shrimp in my opinion. Would have liked a lime wedge on the side, but this dish was a home run. 2) Drunken fried rice - moderately spicy but manageable. Delicious and very flavorful, strong basil flavor and good amount of beef. 3) Panang pork curry - pretty good! The sauce was very tasty and quite spicy. Had a good amount of curry and pork. The pork was a bit on the dry side, but I enjoyed the curry and rice combo regardless. 4) "Crying Tiger" specialty dish - pretty awful; do not recommend. The dish cost $13-14 and was very disjointed, flavorless, and dry. The "steak" was cut into strips and cooked very dry. Sat on top of a bunch of plain lettuce. Came with flavorless steam vegetables and sticky rice. Had a small side of this sour sauce that didn't add much to the dish. Complete miss. Only 1 family member liked it. Drinks: Thai iced tea is sweet and pretty standard; loved it! $2.95. I'd come back for all of the dishes except for the crying tiger. Save your money on that one! read more

Hidden gem in Olney Originally we wanted to go to a Thai restaurant in Rockville but we were lazy to drive and it's usually packed on the weekends. We decided to go here which was less packed but the parking lot was. We were quickly sat down. We ordered a Pad Thai (great option if you don't like spicy) and Drunken Noodles (great option if you like spicy). They were both pretty big portions but also I don't really eat too much. I ate half and packed the other half. Pretty reasonably priced considering how much food you get. The service was great, our servers were very friendly. And I liked the layout of the restaurant. Not sure if there is a full bar but I ordered a wine so they definitely beer and wine. Definitely coming back to try some of the other dishes. read more

Thai Cuisine is a nice place for getting together with a friend for lunch or other more relaxed meet ups like that (being that it's not a big place and has an open concept layout). Thai Cuisine is a cute restaurant tucked in one of Olneys shopping plazas-so make sure you don't miss it! I was really impressed by three things: their extensive menu, delicious food (I got the drunken noodles), and great service. There were so many options to choose from (I'll be back!), the food was very deliciously flavorful, and the waiter was really friendly and very efficient. The only reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that the set up/layout of the tables in the restaurant sets it up to be a loud place where it's difficult to hear the people you're talking to. read more

Food: went for dinner and the quality of the food is amazing! Waiter and waitress was super friendly and nice! I highly recommend. I've had their drunken noodles and it was sweet and savory yet spicy which I enjoyed. I've also had their pad thai which was good too. Their panang curry was super flavorful, it wasn't just a coconut taste, you could really taste the spices in the curry. Their larb gai, was not too bad. The sauce for it sinks to the bottom of the dish so we had to mix up the dish a couple times. But it was a big deal..everything tasted delicious. And the thai tea wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed too. Interior: super nice and spacious. Comfortable setting too. They also have a bar section to sit. Exterior: it doesn't look like much from the outside. But their is a good amount of parking. It's right next to a rite aid which is convenient if you need anything. Our favorite Thai restaurant! This is our go-to Thai restaurant for any occasion. We order food twice a month from here. Recently, they just updated their website which is easier to order now. Also, they added our favorite "spicy duck"! We don't need to drive to their Rockville location anymore. Our favorite dishes from this restaurant are pad Thai, pad see ew, chicken satay, pad khing with chicken, and fried rice. Everything tastes delicious. I can say their food is close to authentic Thai food. The new location is cute and spacious. The shopping center has tons of parking. The staff is nice and friendly. The restaurant follows the Covid-19 protocols with social distance and wears a mask. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. You will not be disappointed. read more

Takeout for 6 was pretty decent. Those that ordered the Pad See-Ew were happy with their meals - both taste and portion. I was a little disappointed with the papaya salad, which is one of my favorite traditional Thai dishes. The flavors were just not as fresh and vibrant as other Thai restaurants in other regions. The Num Tok salad with tofu was unique from anything I've had before. I'm so impressed with the new space! It's right next to Rite-aid in a convenient location and there's a large parking lot. The establishment is so sleek, modern. And clean. The bathroom is pristine. There is table seating and a bar, and this place is great for small and large groups. We were promptly taken care of. (There was a small problem opening the door. It got stuck and wouldn't open-- I'm not sure if this is a reoccurring thing, but if it is, don't let the door deter you from great food! My friend and I easily waved through a window and the hostess let us in.) My friend and I shared the chicken satae appetizer, and from the lunch specials menu-- Kee Mao (drunken noodle) and Tofu Pad khing. The chicken satae is an absolute favorite of mine. The chicken is juicy and the two dips it comes with (some sort of sweet clear one with cucumber and a peanut sauce) go perfect with it. The entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. We went with soup. This chicken lemongrass soup is packed with flavor. It's satisfyingly tangy with a tad kick to it. The drunken noodles were delicious but spicy. My heat tolerance is unfortunately low, so they were too hot for me, but my friend ate them up and loved the spiciness. Tofu pad khing came with rice and it had a strong flavor and was nice and salty. Next time though I might get chicken. Needless to say, we stuffed ourselves and will be back!! read more

Thai cuisine is an Olney gem. I've been going here for years and really have never been disappointed. Consistent quality every time. So much flavor & quality in every bite. Can never truly have next day leftovers when I go here, at some point before the day is over I end up returning to finish whatever was left of my food. It's that good! I've personally had a wide range of items on the menu, from appetizers, soups, entrees and desserts. If looking to experiment I highly recommend visiting during their lunch special hours as they have a discounted lunch menu where all dishes also come with a free small soup or salad. I definitely took advantage of these specials throughout the years to try out most dishes on the menu. My go-to recently is the Pad Ka Prow with Shrimp, with spring rolls to start, a Thai iced tea & an order of the mango with sticky rice to go if I'm feeling for dessert as well. If not that entree I'm also a huge fan of the drunken noodles or shrimp fried rice. The curry dishes are excellent also. I'm more of a seafood fan so I must say most of the dishes I've had were with shrimp included. Unfortunately they used to have more seafood combination options (such as a melody of shrimp & scallops, etc) but as of late shrimp is the only seafood included in their dishes that offer any type of seafood melody. Since we are about to move to Olney, we figured it would be good to try some of the local food. The food was overall very delicious and the service fast. We ordered the chicken satay, chive dumplings, Tom Kha soup, yum woon sen (glass noodle salad), and crab fried rice. The chicken satay came with 5 skewers, veggies, and spicy peanut sauce and were flavorful. I could just bottle up the spicy peanut sauce and put it on everything- it was so yummy. The chive dumplings had a good flavor but we didn't like the texture- kinda like a mushy rubber band. My husband loved the crab fried rice and said it was the best in the region. The Tom Kha soup was the perfect balance of spice, creamy coconut, and sour flavors. The glass noodle salad was a huge portion and was refreshing. We were happy with our experience overall and will definitely be coming back here once we move to Olney. read more

Well, the food might be tasty, but that doesn't outweigh the poor electronic ordering system and horrible customer service... the electronic ordering system often gets stuck and doesn't finish ordering. Most recently I had to go back into the website and re-order three times in order for it to go through once and then when I showed up at the restaurant, I ended up with multiples of everything I wanted spending twice as much as I was trying to order... Yesterday, I went to pick up an order for my parents and I at Thai Cuisine in Olney and the food was amazing. We ordered the curry puffs and the spring rolls as appetizers. For our entrees we ordered the Thai Cuisine Spicy Duck, Pad Preaw Whan, and Kuai Tiao Khua Kai (I'm a noodle). We ordered the Kao Pad with chicken as a side. I have always been impressed with the food and how fast the food was ready yesterday since I went to do pick up for the first time. I will definitely keep going back to this place. They moved from a smaller location to the one that they are in next to Popeyes and there was a line yesterday for pickups, so business must be great!!! I called in for lunch carry out on 10/24/2024. Menu lists lunch specials on Yelp for $6.95. I ordered shrimp pad Thai and cashew chicken lunch specials. Went to pick up and was rung up for $30. I questioned why I was over charged and the woman at the register said she was never told it was a lunch special order and that shrimp pad Thai is not included on the special menu (even though it is, you can see yelp link to full menu). I asked about the cashew chicken and she said she wasn't told it was a lunch special. I said it's not my problem her staff doesn't communicate and asked her to fix it. I asked to speak to the manager. She said she was the manager. She took my order from the counter and moved it to a back table and walked away to wait on a table. I took my order that was already rung up, signed the credit slip with no tip and left. Food wasn't that great. She should have fixed the order and she lied about the shrimp pad Thai. I stopped in for lunch and all the reviews raved about the Pad See Ew - my favorite Thai dish! But I must say, I was pretty disappointed. I always get this dish with tofu and today I ordered a full dinner potion cause...yeah...I was hungry But my dish was overloaded with tofu, and while normally that wouldn't be a terrible thing, this tofu was SO OVERCOOKED! Like rubbery sponges with no flavor, the tofu killed this dish for me. Additionally, they used what looked like Chinese broccoli or possible broccoli rabe. I wasn't a fan. Maybe that's because I'm used to regular broccoli (I like the florets!) or again, maybe it was because the flavor was lacking there too. The noodles were the only ingredient that had decent flavor and it was a good, classic brown sauce that really distinguishes Pad See Ew. Service was decent. Food was ready in a decent amount of time. If the flavor and execution was better it would be worth the $10+ dollars. read more

We ordered 4 entrees - Dusty Pork, Pad See-Ew (noodles), Gang Keow Whan (curry), and Pad Ka Na (Chinese broccoli). The prices ranged from $9.95 to $13.95. The entrees were large, and each one tasted unique with a different sauce. The service was attentive with water refills, and the dining room and restrooms were clean. I've come here countless times with my family. This is our go-to Thai restaurant and I think if you are in Olney, and have a hankering craving for Thai, you should stop by here. Atmosphere: a true hole-in-the-wall. There is limited seating. I would say the restaurant could probably hold no more than 20 dine-in customers? So definitely only come in to dine if you have smaller parties. Don't come here if you are looking for fine dining. You need to be okay with a tight space. In the winter it can get chilly from the door opening a lot due to their large pick up/take out business (so bring a jacket), but besides that you should be fine. Lighting is dim and yellowy but not to create a romantically dimmed atmosphere but because this place is truly a hole in the wall. It fits though, and works for what this tiny restaurant truly is. Staff: There is only one lady doing the hosting, the serving, and taking in all incoming calls. From the countless times I have been in to dine, I definitely think she is amazing at her job. She is quite efficient considering how much she does. Food: Delicious! I think this food is incredibly fairly priced for the portion sizes and the quality of taste. To give you an idea of the pricing- Spring rolls (appetizer) is $3.95. It comes with three fried spring rolls that aren't the same length of the standard ones from Vietnamese Pho restaurants. They are almost mini spring rolls. Nonetheless, delicious! I would say the sauce that comes with it isn't sweet and sour as the description on the menu states, but instead mostly sweet. The sauce is more of a light syrup and it pairs very nicely with the rolls. Large Tom Ka Soup is $7.95. With the smaller bowls it fits 3-4 bowls. I definitely recommend this for anyone coming with a party. I think Tom Ka soup can be lacking at a lot of Thai restaurants but this place does it perfectly. Chicken to me is the best protein pairing for this dish. Panang with Tofu is $10.95. This is a large bowl of curry! My family loves it with the fried tofu. They fill the bowl to the brim with that stuff and it is also truly delicious! I wouldn't say it is spicy, even though there is two pepper signs next to the menu item. The coconut in it definitely balances it out. Pad Thai with Shrimp is $11.95. HUGE. Yummy! Comes with the traditional crushed peanuts on top with the heaping side of bean sprouts. Well seasoned with the proper amount of add-ins to it. Colorful and tasty. Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) with Beef is $10.95. I think if you're doing a drunken noodle, beef is probably the best protein pairing. This is SPICY (but not like 2x ramen, but definitely spicier than I remembered a drunken noodle being)! Watch out! Thai Cuisine Spicy with Beef is $12.95. This is similar to a Crispy Beef dish you can order at a Chinese restaurant, but it definitely has more of the Thai flavors. I love this dish, it's a great protein and veggie dish to put on the table to share. It comes with white rice. I love the string beans. The Beef is in crispy strip cuts with a dark sauce. read more
