We throw the rice in the trash it was so bad!

First time we ate at the resturant and food was okay second time we ordered the same fried rice to take out and rice was so old and discustiand the resturant wouldn't refund me! I will Only go back to Babmoo bistro from now on in corona Delmar!

Went right when they opened and the food was great! Cute little restaurant, would go again.

Free local delivery, great lunch specials!

OooooooohMGeeee I love this lil place. Hole in the wall, yes. No frills, yes. Absolutely yummy, yes. Started coming here with Coworkers for lunch when I worked in Corona Del Mar. My absolute favorite is their Yellow Chicken I always mean to take pictures but it's so tasty that I gobble it up before I remember! Not at all surprised to see they were nominated this year as a best restaurant in the LA Times Best of OC. Just noticed too on my last visit that they offer delivery in the immediate vicinity. Unfortunately home is just outside the radius, but luckily work is in limits, whoohoo! Great lunch specials, and lots of cute little shops in the area to walk around and check out.

    Green curry with vegetables.

Order the green curry with vegetables. It was the freshest and most delicious curry I've tried. Sweetest little chef pouring her heart and soul into her food. It might be a little hold in the wall place but do not let that fool you. The food is cooked with fresh ingredients and love!

So I was super excited when my friend recommended me go there for dinner. Now I had seen this place for a million years when I lived in Orange county and it had changed hands a while back. But I was so excited as it's probably one of the more beautiful restaurants that I've seen right off of Pacific Coast highway. They have valet parking in the front, and because Newport Beach is severely limited in their parking choices, it's best to take advantage of that. Walking into the place, it has a wonderful, warm inviting atmosphere. The people and servers are really helpful and very warm in the front. They definitely make good suggestions, so take advantage of their expertise. We ate a bunch of stuff. From the spring rolls, to the chicken set hey, too to Coconut milk soup to crying tiger, I was absolutely stuffed by the time dessert came around. My friend told me I had to try the Coconut ice cream, but I was leaning more towards to the Thai tea creme brulee. I said what the heck? Let's order both. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. I would give this place 10 Stars if I could but you will only allow five so let me say it here. This is definitely a 5 plus place. Bottom line? I will definitely be coming back here again. If you live anywhere near Newport Beach, you owe it to yourself to go to this place. Super delicious, super fun and very casual relaxed that experience.

Also good but the noodles were mushy and not chewy. Beef and vegetables stir fried: Was good. Vegetarian pad thai, I think. I loved this dish. The noodles were still chewy and tofu was not hard. Good flavor. Veggies spring rolls. This was okay. I'd prefer the regular spring rolls with meat. In all fairness, I would like to visit the restaurant in person for the actual dining-in experiment sometime. Foods always taste better dining in than take it to go.

It does need to be worked on. The restaurant is very nice and modern. Prices are extremely reasonable for the area and the flavors are exquisite. I'd personally recommend the nem spring rolls, caramelized fish clay pot, and egg rolls. The shaken beef had good flavor but was a little overcooked and was cut in too small of pieces in my opinion. It's a small location with very little seating inside and with perfect weather on this day we dined outside. We tried the shrimp and pork spring rolls to start. The serving size were four large rolls that were more than we could even finish. It was accompanied by a flavorful peanut sauce. Spooning the sauce onto the first bite was a total surprise and didn't know what to expect. The ingredients were so fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The peanut sauce didn't have that cheap skippy peanut butter taste but was not overpowering and just enhanced every bite. My wife had the Chicken Curry with rice. It was a large serving that she couldn't finish on her own and I joined in to assist with my own spoon. It was filled with pulled chicken that was tender and tasty. The curry was more of a broth that had the perfect amount of curry flavor. Not too spicy and the soft white big potato halves made the dish feel like a warm, hearty bowl of comfort food. The rice was some of the tastiest I've ever had. Not sure what it's seasoned with but it's yellow and stick and delicious and balanced the curry broth perfectly. I ordered the marinated chicken with rice. It's served with a wonderful fish light fish sauce that you often get with vermicelli dishes at Vietnamese restaurants. The chicken was a thigh meat that was tender and flavorful. The rest rice was the perfect accompaniment that filled me up in a good way. Highly recommend both dishes. They use no seed oils, everything is fresh, made to order and be patient as the food doesn't come out right away. Good, healthy, fresh food takes time and worth the wait. They have a bunch of boba and coffee drink options that many around us had ordered and seem to really be enjoying. This place will go on our list of must return and perfect for those summer evening date night spots in one of the best beach cities in all of California.

After pursuing some options in the Newport/Huntington Beach area, I decided to make 8:30 pm reservations for Starfish in Newport Beach! I have driven past this location so many times, and was excited to finally try it out! Upon entering, I was impressed by the moody interior with beautiful lighting and a gorgeous wooden door. The hostess was kind and quick to offer us a two-top bar style seating table that was close to the kitchen. We appreciated that we were sat so promptly, and we actually enjoy sitting close to the kitchen so we could see all of the deletable food options! We began our meal with two rolls as appetizers - the Buddha roll and the Sushi Nigiri Plate. The Buddha roll was a tofu-based vegan roll with a fun touch of toasted coconut flakes and two delicious sauces layered on top. Both my boyfriend and I loved the roll and would absolutely order it again. My boyfriend loved the sashimi plate and stated that the seafood was fresh and was higher in quality compared to your average sushi restaurant. Moving onto our main course, I ordered the Thai Green Vegetable Curry with coconut rice (which our server mentioned was different from the regular white rice because they cook it with coconut milk instead of water) and my boyfriend was craving another sushi roll, so he opted for the Shrimp Tempura Roll. The Shrimp Tempura Roll was pleasantly different from regular shrimp tempura rolls, because it contained crab meat and shrimp tempura. We noticed at this point, that all three of the sushi rolls that we ordered used rice paper instead of seaweed, and this unique twist to the sushi rolls enhanced them! I LOVED the presentation of the Thai Green Vegetable Curry. Something about a large stem of basil cascading over my food makes it extra fun to eat! In all seriousness, this was one of the best curry's I have had, and the coconut rice enhanced the entree. For our beverage selection, the cold sake that we hoped to try was out of stock, so we requested hot sake instead, which we sipped on through the meal. Pro Tip: the hot house sake was only $10 which is an amazing price point! Finally, it came to my favorite part of the meal, dessert! My boyfriend was leaning towards the Scratch Cheesecake, and I was leaning towards the Mango Pudding. We asked for our server for her recommendation, and she stated that the Banana in Fillo Dough or Scratch Cheesecake were her top two options. Based on this, we opted for the Scratch Cheesecake. It was good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. In my mind, I think of a cheesecake and immediately crave a thick slice of a classic New York style cheesecake. However, this was served in a glass with a graham cracker crumble as the base, and a cheesecake-style mousse layer above, with poached asian pears as a topping. While this wasn't my favorite part of the meal, it was still a fun twist on a classic dessert with a lovely presentation. Next time, I think I'll follow my heart and try the Mango Pudding. Between the food, ambiance, wonderful service, and elevated experience for an affordable price point, we will definitely return!
