    Chicken 41. Pad Thai

Delicious! Our family friends recommended this place and I am so glad they did. The staff was kind and friendly. I ordered chicken pad Thai which was light and flavorful. We also ordered a side of fresh spring rolls which hit the spot. If you are looking for good Thai food, this is the place to go!!

Delicious flavorful Thai food on balboa pier!!! My family was vacationing here and we were craving Thai! We were so excited this place was nearby! We did an online order and ordered plenty of dishes ranging from the beef oanang curry, paprik king, pad see ew noodles, shrimp dishes, ginger chicken. Everything was delicious!

A solid option for Thai or any takeout on the end of the peninsula if you don't want to fight peninsula traffic. They are friendly and the food is pretty good. I really enjoyed the pumpkin curry - it had full chunks of pumpkin it it and the spice level was pretty spot on.

Mint Leaf Thai Cuisine is a little restaurant making big impacts. When you first walk into this restaurant, one of the first things you notice is its size. Depending on the orientation of tables, the establishment can fit less than or more than 10 parties at a time, depending on the size of the party. The restaurant was decorated with lots of bright colors and the restaurant had a comforting vibe to it. Although the front of the house was only ran by two people, they were very friendly, quick, and efficient at doing their jobs. It was astounding to see our server take our order by memory and make no mistakes while doing so. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and a small side of white rice. The yellow curry ($15.95) was one of the best yellow curries that I've tasted so far. The coconut milk yellow curry had a rich flavor and was perfectly spiced. On the menu the dish is labeled as spicy, but I found it to have the perfect kick. The kind that you feel more in your throat than your mouth. There were carrots, potatoes, and chicken in this dish, and I found everything to be perfectly cooked. On the menu it states that the curries do not come with rice. While I understand you can eat curries alone, most Thai places that I have gone to includes a side of rice with their curries. Since rice was not included, I added a small side of white rice for $2.50. For dessert, the table shared the Mangos with Sticky Rice ($11.95) and it was simply delectable. The mangos provided a subtly sweet freshness to the sweet sticky rice. The portion was fairly large and good to share with 3-4 people. My visit at Mint Leaf Thai Cuisine would have been five stars, however people at my table noticed that some of the dishes were not cleaned properly and had to exchange them for a clean dish. With this all being said, Mint Leaf Thai Cuisine has a great array of dishes that are sure to be delicious for everyone.

Food is decent. Not the best Thai food I've had. But wanted to comment on the pricing as this place intentionally rips you off. As you can see on the receipt, suggested tips are after tax instead of before.

10/10. My favorite thai spot. food is always delicious. the staff is always so kind and considerate. i brought my puppy with me and we sat outside. staff brought him a water dish.

Came here after visiting Newport Beach & going on a boat cruise on the 17th- the restaurant we initially wanted to go to turned from a 15 min drive to a 58 min drive due to the high traffic, & we were celebrating my friend's birthday, so we came here instead. No reservation required, we walked right in for a party of 5. The food was really good - the veggie dumplings & pad see ew (usually what I get at a Thai restaurant). This place came up when I searched for vegan food, but the menu is not vegan and doesn't have any vegan denotation so we worked with the waiter to make our dish vegan. Great location, great Thai food. The Thai iced tea with boba can only be made with regular or coconut milk so we chose coconut milk. Very sweet tea, I love it.

Perfect little thai spot right by balboa. Waiter was oh so kind and attentive. Paradise fried rice was my favorite- all the good stuff pineapple, cashews, shrimp! Delicious flavoring. Pad thai also very tasty! Mongolian beef could use a little more but that may just be my own personal preference. Overall glad I checked this place out it was just what I wanted on a beautiful day spent in balboa.

Kids liked the cream cheese wontons, I loved the jungle curry

Very yummy little Thai place close to Balboa fin zone that was better than expected. I loved the Jungle Curry, and I like it hot! Only thing is you need to byob...no alcohol license but the curry makes up for it. Yum

Spicy Thai Beef Salad - I DON'T recommend (bland and beef tasted old)
    Deb H.

So I only got food from here because I saw all of the good Yelp Reviews and I must say I'm very disappointed. All of the food was watery and lacking flavor: Pad Thai - bland, zero flavor. Also it was weird that the noodles were pink. Pumpkin Curry - I ordered this based on all the rave reviews: granted the pumpkin itself was delicious and perfectly cooked but the rest of the curry was bland and it was SUPER WATERY like a broth. I also didn't like how I had to pay an additional $2 to get rice. The curry should come with rice = I don't like being nickled & dimed.... Pad See Ewe - so bland and flavorless Spicy Beef Salad - the beef tasted weird like it was spoiled/old and the lettuce was just one big slice of lettuce (like you'd use when making lettuce cups) that I had to slice up myself so it wasn't really a salad. There were more basil leaves versus the one large piece of lettuce. The flavor of the sauce was also very bland. Tom Kha Kai soup - again watery and bland although not as bland as the rest of the food. This was the only dish out of everything I ordered that I actually ate in its entirety and didn't just throw it away because the rest tasted so bad Mango with Sticky Rice - hard to mess this up and it tasted good but the portion size was super small for $8 Overall I will never eat here again. It was a flavorless experience and not worth the calories nor the money. If you want good tasting Thai food in the Newport Beach area then I'd recommend Thai Del Mar in Corona Del Mar. Or if you need delivery then try Bangkok Corner.

    41. Pad Thai

Mint Leaf Thai Cuisine in Newport Beach is a solid choice when you're craving classic Thai comfort food done right. The restaurant has a relaxed, casual vibe that fits perfectly with the laid back Newport Beach atmosphere great for a quick lunch or an easy dinner without feeling rushed.I ordered the Thai iced tea and Pad Thai with chicken to go. The Thai iced tea was spot on creamy, well balanced, and not overly sweet, which is always a win. It paired nicely with the meal and felt refreshing rather than heavy. The Pad Thai was flavorful and satisfying, with tender rice noodles cooked just right not mushy, not dry. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, and the dish came with all the essentials bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, egg, and a fresh lime wedge to brighten everything up. The sauce had that familiar sweet savory balance with a hint of tang, making it comforting without being bland. Mint Leaf Thai Cuisine delivers dependable, tasty Thai food with generous portions and good execution of the classics.

If you're a local, you already know about this gem. My girl and I loved coming here, the ladies working are sweet and checked up on us to ensure everything was good and it was. The food was really tasty, absolutely did not lack in flavor. The portions are also a pretty good size. We will be coming back!

They even reopened the kitchen for us so we could order an additional soup -- such a thoughtful touch! The restaurant is huge with tons of seating, so it's a great option whether you're dining with a group or just want a more spacious atmosphere. Our standouts were the Tom Kha Soup, Drunken Noodles, and Spicy Thai Fried Rice all packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. They were also very accommodating to food sensitivities. Two of my friends are gluten-free and vegan, and both were able to find options they really enjoyed. It's always nice to find a restaurant that takes dietary needs seriously without sacrificing flavor. We had a great experience and will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Wow. Zabb Thai Cuisine in Newport seriously exceeded my expectations…read more I've lived in Orange County for over 17 years, and finding a really good Thai restaurant, especially in South OC, is harder than it should be. Most of the time, I have to drive all the way to Thai Town in Hollywood just to get something that actually tastes right. I ordered the Lad Na, spicy basil fried rice, Pad Thai, and chicken egg rolls. Everything was delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the filet meat and chicken were clean, tender, and didn't have those random pieces of fat you have to quietly spit into a napkin when nobody is looking. The flavors were on point and exceeded my expectations compared to most of the Thai restaurants I've tried throughout Orange County. In my opinion, this place even beats Manao in Tustin, and I don't say that lightly. The restaurant has a nice upscale feel, but the prices are still reasonable. The service was also above par. From the valet, to being seated, to the staff checking on us, they were on it. Everyone was very nice, attentive, and they even boxed up all of our leftovers for us. That small stuff matters. Now, if there was one thing I had to critique, it would be the Thai iced tea. Anyone who knows me knows I will never shut up about the ice. Thai tea is usually one of the first things I order because it tells me a lot about how authentic the place is. It should be served with crushed ice, not regular cube ice. The crushed ice slowly melts and perfectly balances out the sweetness as the drink sits. Some places make Thai tea way too sweet. Some use that gross premixed powdered Nesquik tasting stuff. Some are just flat out horrible. Fresh brewed Thai tea leaves, crushed ice, and the half and half floating above the dark tea is how it should look. If the cream isn't floating on top, you might as well replace it with water, especially when you're paying the price of a number three at In N Out for one drink. To be fair, the Thai tea here was good. It just needed crushed ice. Being Thai and growing up eating real Thai food, I'm naturally picky. Sometimes probably too picky. But Zabb earned it. This is officially my new go to Thai restaurant in Orange County. The food was memorable, the service was excellent, and the max tip was well deserved. I'll definitely be back.

What a fantastic meal! We ended up with enough leftovers for lunch the next day and I was so happy Everything was so delicious in its own way!!! The Manaoo Thai Tea (4/5): way different than a milky Thai Thea! It felt more soda adjacent and was refreshing and limey Green Curry with Beef Rib Eye & Roti (5/5): SOOO good and SPICY! Think cute and quaint with the expression of Thai cuisine. The dining room is on the smaller side, but embraces a cozy ambiance. If you want a little breathing room, the alternative is the outdoor patio where they offer larger tables and a spacious setting. Upon entry we were greeted and taken to the interior dining, we eventually decided that dining outside would be more to our liking and they quickly helped us relocate. Our waitress was friendly, social, and very knowledgeable. She was ready to provide descriptions of anything on the menu and expressed to us her favorites, which is helpful when you are faced with choices that all sound amazing. The menu is intentionally concise, not extensive, which we figured out once the food arrived why this was. The food has a visually captivating appeal and is even more delicious than we could have imagined. It is too bad they don't have pictures on the menu because all the food was beautiful played and a true feast for your eyes! A must try is the Thai Sausage from. The appetizers. It is cooked to perfection with a crunchy outside and tender inside, this sausage should not be passed up. Served with aromatic spice, ginger, onion, peanuts, and sprouts. Masterfully composed with the interplay of textures, just flawless! A great pairing with your meal is the Thai Tea. Typically, this is very sweet in restaurants, but they hit the mark with this harmonious blend. A plus is they have the soft chewable nugget ice! Another do not pass up is the Son-In-Law Eggs, thinly/lightly crisped exterior of a deep fried egg with heavenly caramelized tamarind glaze. Absolutely brilliant pairing with the shallots! Definitely an appetizer to remember, chef's kiss! We also had the Pork Fried Rice with subtle notes of garlic and soy, mixed with greens and onion to give bursts of color and texture. A fresh lime squeezed over the top gave it the perfect finish. My only critique here would be a slighter hand of salt for those who are watching their intake. Don't forget the Banana Pudding dessert because it is a delightful and velvety creamy custard with caramel sauce and cookie crumbles on the side, topped with whip cream. The food respects tradition, embraces refinement, and is simply exceptional. I can't wait to go back to try some of the other dishes they offer!

For my entree got the Pad See Ew, was pretty decent, pretty much as I expected. Only downside was the server took my fork when I was in the bathroom between appetizer and entree and never gave me another until I asked. LOL

The restaurant is in a great location with plenty of parking, making it an easy place to visit. Inside, it was clean, bright, and welcoming. We were seated right away, but unfortunately, the service got off to a slow start. No one came by to take our drink order, and we eventually had to wave someone down to get things moving. Once our server came over, though, everything turned around. Here's what we ordered: - Mango Salad - fresh, flavorful, and I loved that it came with lettuce for extra crunch. - Massaman Curry - on the lighter side than I'm used to, but the curry flavor was absolutely on point. - Pad See Ew - Eggplant - Summer Rolls - Sticky Rice - Lychee Tea - refreshing, delicious, and the perfect drink to pair with the meal. Every dish we ordered was excellent. It's always a great sign when you order several items and every single one delivers. The flavors were authentic, well balanced, and made me wish I had room to order even more. Despite the slow start with the service, the quality of the food more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Orange County. 10/10, highly recommended if you're craving great Thai food!

I came in to pick up my order as soon as toast said it was "likely done". Tofu was soggy, and portion was small. Likewise, the pad see ew was composed of noodles that fell apart upon any attempt to pick them up, the veggies were undercooked, egg pieces were next to nothing, and the flavor was overall lacking. For $35 with tip, I was disappointed by all means. What I ordered was unfortunately mediocre at best - I won't be returning.

Very diverse menu but all is Hawaiian / Asian food. Ordered a few things sitting in the patio on opening at 11:00 a.m. since we didn't have any breakfast coming in from the valley. Macadamia nut crusted lobster roll= C Fish fresh but very weird sauce that I did not like and the macadamia nut on top just doesn't work with this. To each their own but not for me and an easy regret Coconut curry wok'd mussels -B Usually completely run away from anything Curry, and this was kind of ordered by mistake as I did not recall seeing anything curry-wise when I read the description but I must have missed it however it was a pleasant surprise and a very unique dish presented wonderfully. It goes great with a coconut white rice which our server brought. Pork ribs with half =dry rub and half= wet B+ (full rack) The ribs are fall off the bone and both the dry rub and wet with delicious barbecue sauce very tasty, but they came out lukewarm at best so they did not do a good job of reheating or else it would be close to an A. I didn't expect them to prepare a fresh rack of ribs for me at 11:00 a.m. on opening so I knew a reheat was coming but it tasted good. They were just not hot. The purple cabbage slaw is masked as Asian on the menu but its nothing but a heavily doused with vinegar cabbage to the point its mushy. I must say, ribs made a great reheat a couple days later, even after transportation/ long periods in the car. Crispy mahi mahi wok'd with veggies.B- Very creative dish but it was over sweetened to death to the point where it affected the crispiness of the fish pieces. Waay over-sauced, literally swamped in glaze. If it was dryer the fish chunks would be much crispier and it would taste a lot lighter and better. In a nutshell this restaurant is not for the risk adverse and has very unique pairings and sauces and preparation methods which you will either love hate or not be sure as I still am not, but it was good to try once. 3.5 Stars rounding up to four for the good service.
