Shrimp pad Thai in front. Tofu Pad See Ew in back.

This place is small & cute. The tables were all dirty, so the server came out & cleaned them. Wiped the seats first then the table with same cloth. Don't love that. Server was friendly. The food was really good. The tofu in my pad see ewe was amazing. Our shrimp pad Thai was my favorite. Large shrimp, cooked perfectly. Fresh bean sprouts & garnish. I'd come back again.

Ordered the Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. The food was good Thai food. I was on the fence about eating here since when we walked in I saw the server wiping down the seats and the table tops with the same wet towel. I am writing this the next day and I am not sick so that's good. Restaurant ambiance is good for a casual lunch but, nothing exceptional.

Cozy lite place! Minimalist decor and more modern compare to other modern Thai place I've ever visited in Socal. Portion is decent, Pad Woon Sen is delish & tasty, and the curry also great taste. What makes things not that great is, they could have place the rice in a bowl. As the side plate for the rice making very uncomfortable eating. Staff just one person, order taker, serve & settling our bill. Place is located just 5 mins walk from the beach!!

Not the best Thai food I had but it was still pretty good! Of course eating there would make a huge difference compared to takeout. I got Pad See Ew and crab fried rice. The pad see ew's noodle was soft and the chicken was delicious. The crab fried rice was pretty good too - the crabs and eggs were delicious. I wish the portions were bigger hahaha

This place is pretty solid! Also... ample parking in the lot! Ordered the Khao Soi with added pork belly and the Siam Station fried rice with chicken. The fried rice was pretty good! I noticed the rice has a little bit more wetness to it than Chinese fried rice. Make sure to add on some chili sauce. The Khao Soi was pretty solid! The egg noodles and the Thai coconut curry sauce was pretty good! My only criticisms is I wish the sauce had more kick to it. Also the crispy pork belly was kinda chewy as most chunks were just fried pork skin with little meat. Can't skip out on the mango sticky rice! It was super delicious! The rice had a nice purple color, had great texture and perfect sweetness!

The ambiance was quaint, though a bit sparse, and unfortunately, the strong scent of cleaning supplies was overwhelming. With limited airflow, it became uncomfortable and even gave me a headache by the time I left. Service was mediocre, my water was never refilled, which was disappointing. The tipping setup was also confusing: the suggested tip was calculated on the total after tax, which made it seem higher than expected. We ended up tipping 20% before tax, which was still less than the suggested 18% post-tax tip. On a positive note, the food was genuinely good. The flavors were well-developed and enjoyable. I'd consider coming back for takeout, but based on other reviews suggesting the to-go quality doesn't match the dine-in experience, I might just eat in and pack it up myself next time.

Just a few minutes away from Seaside Bakery, you're gonna find OC's newest restaurant serving up arguably the best Thai food in Newport Beach. Their Khao soi looks absolutely insane and comes with egg noodles AND topped with crispy noodles and is a must-order, and, of course, we had to get the Pad Thai to see how it measures up and it did not disappoint. If you're feeling soupy, their Tom kha is so heartwarming on a cold winter day, and the difference is in the quality of their ingredients. For drinks and dessert, check out their regular and green Thai tea and Mango sticky rice that is to die for. There's so much parking at this hidden gem which is such a rarity on Balboa Island. Thanks for reading! ^-^

This new Newport Beach location offers up the same delicious menu as its sister location in Irvine. Since it is so new, we had the luxury of dining in an almost empty restaurant. I didn't feel rushed or anything (the Irvine location is SO busy) so we lingered a bit after eating. I ordered pretty much the same things I would order at the Irvine location.... Tom Ka Gai -- coconut chicken soup Chicken Larb -- ground chicken salad served with raw cabbage Kapow with ground chicken -- always delicious with hot steaming rice Basil Eggplant with Tofu -- great flavors and vegetarian. A great new addition to Newport Beach.

New Siam Station location right by Newport Beach! It's just a few minutes away from the beach and have plenty of parking available! Interior was pretty spacious and service was fast! What we ordered: *pad thai with crispy pork 4.5/5: great balance of sweet and savory. crispy pork was a little on the harder/crunchy side *thai boat noodles 4/5: soothing soup on the sweeter side. it had meatballs and beef and also veggies

Checked out Siam Stations new location in Newport during their 20% off soft opening. We ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup & Drunken Noodle and the Tom yum was a lot better. The drunken noodle felt under cooked and lacked flavor. It did have a lot of veggies and felt on the healthier side. However, the Tom yum soup had a lot of seafood. It's on the sweeter side & not too spicy. The food came out super fast and parking is not an issue which is rare in Newport. Good service overall.

Based on their online ordering and takeout service, they've got quick and efficient customer service. Have yet to receive a "thank you for my visit" though. I do wish they offered local delivering for businesses nearby, I'd even tip for that option as I'm often not able to step away from work. (I don't always like using Uber eats because they hike up the prices so much. ) Keep in mind, their entrees are smaller portions than the Thai restaurants in my home area, and are about $15 each (with chicken). Since my portion control has gotten smaller, I still have enough to try to enjoy another meal. (Reheating it for the next meal, not a fan so much actually, because the flavor and texture just differ I noticed). Their flavors and entree selections definitely hit the spot and satisfy any cravings I may have for rice and noodles. So far I've only tried their panang curry, pad Thai, pad soon sen, and orange chicken (all with chicken for the meat option). Everything has been delicious and flavorful eaten within moments of my takeout purchase. I definitely recommend enjoying their entrees in one sitting if possible. BTW, their rice isn't always the same consistency, so if there is one critique, it'd be improving the rice that accompanies my entrees like the curry or orange chicken. My first steamed rice order it was a bit mushy, the next visit's steamed rice was pleasant, and the recent visit, again, the rice was inconsistent. I'm less apt to try their fried rice options now. I'll venture to try their appetizers soon. Keep in mind a side of their peanut sauce is $3 (it's about 3 tablespoons). I do have to admit they have one of the best restaurant peanut sauces I've tried in a long while. (It's almost as good as the one I make so my family enjoys it here if I can't make it at home right away.

My party came to eat dinner here on a Wednesday night at 6 PM. We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. Although there was only one server, the service was friendly and efficient. There was one unisex bathroom with a code. Parking was also easy as there is a shared parking lot. The food was good! The menu offers an assortment of thai dishes. I ordered the drunken noodles with filet mignon. The filet mignon was an extra price of $3. The dish was flavorful and came with an assortment of veggies. The food also came out fast. The only downside is that the food is expensive for the portion that you get. I would recommend!

Once seated, you'll notice the menu if full of items that you rarely see here in the USA but we have had in Bangkok. We ordered 4 items for 4 people even though in Thailand you always eat family style. I selected the first 3 and asked the waiter to select the 4th based on my first 3 choices. That was a good idea. I chose Kao Soi Noodles, Dry Boat Noodles, and Crab Fried Rice based on Yelp reviews. My server, Veerawan, chose Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad. The Kao Soi Noodles came with several pieces of perfectly fried crabs and a bundle of crispy noodles. Underneath that was a delicious yellow curry on soft noodles. The fried bits were not greasy and the coating well seasoned. The yellow curry noodles were so delicious and rich that I couldn't put my chopsticks down. The Crab Fried Rice should be mandatory. Instead of a stir fry of rice and eggs with some surimi, at Manaao the entire cap of the fried rice mound is covered with lump crab meat. At first I thought $24 was expensive, now I think it's a steal. Look at my picture! The flavor was spot on too, the rice was chewy, the crab flavor throughout but you also get mouthfuls of crab without the hassle of shells. It comes with a lime wedge but also this spicy, tangy lime sauce that just sends the dish to the moon. The name of the restaurant is lime in Thai so they are supporting their brand with this sauce. Bottle this stuff! The Dry Boat Noodle was our least favorite but not because it wasn't tasty. The ingredients were braised beef and morning glory and meatballs. Because we messed with the recipe and ordered it dry (I didn't want two soups) the meatballs were cold-to-room-temp and flavorless. The noodles were some kind of special noodle too, that required the soup to separate. This dish should not be ordered dry. It's an easy fix since we all splashed some of the broth they knowingly brought on the side to wake it up. The broth is rich and should not be missed, so don't skip on this dish just because it was my third out of four dishes. The Fried Fish Fillet in Spicy Herb Salad was the unexpected plot twist. This scored very high in all the major Thai flavor categories of spicy, sweet, salty and sour. You get the benefit of lots of snake head fish without the chore of avoiding bones. The coating on the fried fish pieces were coated in the delicious sauce. Since it's technically a salad underneath and the fish is mixed with all those fresh herbs and large cashews, you get a dish that is one-of-a-kind. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I wrote too much already so I'm not going to say anything about the service and ambience except they both get 5 of 5 stars. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

I mean I haven't been to Thailand yet haha, but I feel like this is as close as I'm gonna get. Specifically their khao soi absolutely clears every other khao soi I've ever tried. It's SO rich, creamy, and I didn't know such strong flavors could exist in a dish. From the perfectly cooked egg noodles to the most tender flavorful chicken to all the little veggie garnishes, but especially that spicy curry broth, wow it's truly the perfect dish. I've ordered this one every time I come here and even for takeout, and it's consistent in how perfect it is every time. Second favorite dish here is the massaman with hangar steak. The curry in this one looks similar to the one used in the khao soi, but it actually tastes completely different! The curry is a bit lighter which could be better if the khao soi might be too rich for you, and the hangar steak is definitely the star of the show. Cooked perfectly and amazing with both the rice and roti that comes with it. Mee klook noodles are a bit sweeter if you like that sweet savory combo. The desserts here are soooo good here too and actually feel worth the money. Service is always so friendly, even one time we got seated 45 minutes before their closing and we felt really bad, but the servers were so kind and we always feel taken care of here. After pursuing some options in the Newport/Huntington Beach area, I decided to make 8:30 pm reservations for Starfish in Newport Beach! I have driven past this location so many times, and was excited to finally try it out! Upon entering, I was impressed by the moody interior with beautiful lighting and a gorgeous wooden door. The hostess was kind and quick to offer us a two-top bar style seating table that was close to the kitchen. We appreciated that we were sat so promptly, and we actually enjoy sitting close to the kitchen so we could see all of the deletable food options! We began our meal with two rolls as appetizers - the Buddha roll and the Sushi Nigiri Plate. The Buddha roll was a tofu-based vegan roll with a fun touch of toasted coconut flakes and two delicious sauces layered on top. Both my boyfriend and I loved the roll and would absolutely order it again. My boyfriend loved the sashimi plate and stated that the seafood was fresh and was higher in quality compared to your average sushi restaurant. Moving onto our main course, I ordered the Thai Green Vegetable Curry with coconut rice (which our server mentioned was different from the regular white rice because they cook it with coconut milk instead of water) and my boyfriend was craving another sushi roll, so he opted for the Shrimp Tempura Roll. The Shrimp Tempura Roll was pleasantly different from regular shrimp tempura rolls, because it contained crab meat and shrimp tempura. We noticed at this point, that all three of the sushi rolls that we ordered used rice paper instead of seaweed, and this unique twist to the sushi rolls enhanced them! I LOVED the presentation of the Thai Green Vegetable Curry. Something about a large stem of basil cascading over my food makes it extra fun to eat! In all seriousness, this was one of the best curry's I have had, and the coconut rice enhanced the entree. For our beverage selection, the cold sake that we hoped to try was out of stock, so we requested hot sake instead, which we sipped on through the meal. Pro Tip: the hot house sake was only $10 which is an amazing price point! Finally, it came to my favorite part of the meal, dessert! My boyfriend was leaning towards the Scratch Cheesecake, and I was leaning towards the Mango Pudding. We asked for our server for her recommendation, and she stated that the Banana in Fillo Dough or Scratch Cheesecake were her top two options. Based on this, we opted for the Scratch Cheesecake. It was good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. In my mind, I think of a cheesecake and immediately crave a thick slice of a classic New York style cheesecake. However, this was served in a glass with a graham cracker crumble as the base, and a cheesecake-style mousse layer above, with poached asian pears as a topping. While this wasn't my favorite part of the meal, it was still a fun twist on a classic dessert with a lovely presentation. Next time, I think I'll follow my heart and try the Mango Pudding. Between the food, ambiance, wonderful service, and elevated experience for an affordable price point, we will definitely return!
