My co workers and I work nearby and have been coming here nearly every week since they opened (even during soft opening !) the food here is always so delicious some too dishes we enjoy is the eggplant Thai basil, pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, and Khao soi. The food is always fresh and tasty ! I have been to the Irvine location however and notice the flavor is different there :/ so while I live in Irvine and work in Newport I prefer the Newport location. The service is always friendly and with our weekly visits our server often knows what we are going to get (when it's just me and my boss we split the eggplant Thai basil with tofu and the pineapple fried rice) when it's our team tho we all get our own items or switch it up ! The environment is chill clean and relaxing and right by the beach which is cool! If you are looking for absolutely delicious Thai food hit up Siam Station! The consistency here is off - never quite sure what we're going to get. When it's good, it's amazing and the best restaurant around. When it's bad, like last night - I don't even want to take more than 2 bites. I ordered the cashew chicken yesterday, the sauce was clumpy and almost like glue? Instead of a nice smooth sauce that tastes good. Additionally; the veggies, chicken and cashews in the dish were scorched! It was burnt and still packed up to-go by the cook. This place is small & cute. The tables were all dirty, so the server came out & cleaned them. Wiped the seats first then the table with same cloth. Don't love that. Server was friendly. Cozy lite place! Minimalist decor and more modern compare to other modern Thai place I've ever visited in Socal. Portion is decent, Pad Woon Sen is delish & tasty, and the curry also great taste. I was recommended this Siam Station restaurant in Newport Beach by a friend of mine who is Thai so I thought her recommendation would be legit and as it turned out - it was! as everything we ordered from Siam Station was delicious!!! This place is pretty solid! Also... ample parking in the lot! Ordered the Khao Soi with added pork belly and the Siam Station fried rice with chicken. The fried rice was pretty good! I noticed the rice has a little bit more wetness to it than Chinese fried rice. Make sure to add on some chili sauce. The Khao Soi was pretty solid! The egg noodles and the Thai coconut curry sauce was pretty good! My only criticisms is I wish the sauce had more kick to it. Also the crispy pork belly was kinda chewy as most chunks were just fried pork skin with little meat. Can't skip out on the mango sticky rice! It was super delicious! I definitely will not be returning. I called in a takeout order for the Pad Woon Sen. When I arrived to pick it up, the cashier (not sure of her name) was rude from the start. I asked if I could use the restroom and she didn't respond at first--just rolled her eyes, said "yes," and gave me the door code. No courtesy at all. After I used the restroom and went back to pay, she put the food on the counter and walked away without saying anything. No acknowledgment, no thank you--nothing. On top of that, the food was just mediocre. Between the poor service and average food, this place isn't worth another visit. read more

The ambiance was quaint, though a bit sparse, and unfortunately, the strong scent of cleaning supplies was overwhelming. With limited airflow, it became uncomfortable and even gave me a headache by the time I left. Service was mediocre, my water was never refilled, which was disappointing. The tipping setup was also confusing: the suggested tip was calculated on the total after tax, which made it seem higher than expected. We ended up tipping 20% before tax, which was still less than the suggested 18% post-tax tip. On a positive note, the food was genuinely good. The flavors were well-developed and enjoyable. We came to this place for lunch with a large group. While we were waiting for the rest of our friends to arrive, I asked to use the restroom. I was told that the restroom is for customers only - which I was, as we were clearly planning to order and were waiting for our group to join us. I explained that our friends were on their way and that we would be placing an order shortly. The staff still refused. I then offered to purchase a bottle of water or any drink from the menu immediately so I could use the restroom. I was told that wasn't enough - I had to order food specifically. This is not about "policy." This is about how you treat people. Turning away a paying guest over something this minor shows a complete lack of hospitality and common sense. Just a few minutes away from Seaside Bakery, you're gonna find OC's newest restaurant serving up arguably the best Thai food in Newport Beach. Their Khao soi looks absolutely insane and comes with egg noodles AND topped with crispy noodles and is a must-order, and, of course, we had to get the Pad Thai to see how it measures up and it did not disappoint. If you're feeling soupy, their Tom kha is so heartwarming on a cold winter day, and the difference is in the quality of their ingredients. For drinks and dessert, check out their regular and green Thai tea and Mango sticky rice that is to die for. There's so much parking at this hidden gem which is such a rarity on Balboa Island. This new Newport Beach location offers up the same delicious menu as its sister location in Irvine. Since it is so new, we had the luxury of dining in an almost empty restaurant. I didn't feel rushed or anything (the Irvine location is SO busy) so we lingered a bit after eating. I ordered pretty much the same things I would order at the Irvine location.... For us, this Thai food is not as authentic as some of the other local Thai food restaurants in the area. We ordered food from this restaurant a couple of times and found that their pad thai, panang curry, kapow and eggplant basil were all about average. The food lacked a lot of the strong Thai flavors that we are accustomed to and it seemed somewhat on the bland side. Checked out Siam Stations new location in Newport during their 20% off soft opening. We ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup & Drunken Noodle and the Tom yum was a lot better. The drunken noodle felt under cooked and lacked flavor. It did have a lot of veggies and felt on the healthier side. However, the Tom yum soup had a lot of seafood. It's on the sweeter side & not too spicy. The food came out super fast and parking is not an issue which is rare in Newport. Good service overall. read more

Based on their online ordering and takeout service, they've got quick and efficient customer service. Have yet to receive a "thank you for my visit" though. I do wish they offered local delivering for businesses nearby, I'd even tip for that option as I'm often not able to step away from work. (I don't always like using Uber eats because they hike up the prices so much. ) Keep in mind, their entrees are smaller portions than the Thai restaurants in my home area, and are about $15 each (with chicken). Since my portion control has gotten smaller, I still have enough to try to enjoy another meal. (Reheating it for the next meal, not a fan so much actually, because the flavor and texture just differ I noticed). Their flavors and entree selections definitely hit the spot and satisfy any cravings I may have for rice and noodles. So far I've only tried their panang curry, pad Thai, pad soon sen, and orange chicken (all with chicken for the meat option). Everything has been delicious and flavorful eaten within moments of my takeout purchase. I definitely recommend enjoying their entrees in one sitting if possible. BTW, their rice isn't always the same consistency, so if there is one critique, it'd be improving the rice that accompanies my entrees like the curry or orange chicken. My first steamed rice order it was a bit mushy, the next visit's steamed rice was pleasant, and the recent visit, again, the rice was inconsistent. I'm less apt to try their fried rice options now. I'll venture to try their appetizers soon. Keep in mind a side of their peanut sauce is $3 (it's about 3 tablespoons). I do have to admit they have one of the best restaurant peanut sauces I've tried in a long while. My party came to eat dinner here on a Wednesday night at 6 PM. We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. Although there was only one server, the service was friendly and efficient. There was one unisex bathroom with a code. Parking was also easy as there is a shared parking lot. The food was good! The menu offers an assortment of thai dishes. DON'T miss this humble, shopping plaza restaurant. We ordered Fried Tofu, Thai Eggplant Basil and Thai Ice Tea. The tofu dish came with its own sweet and spicy sauce; its a very generous portion for an appetizer and the delicate fry of the tofu skin was worthy of being called a fine dining dish: gorgeous, golden triangles... never had anything like it. The rice accompanying the eggplant dish was mediocre, but the eggplant in this entree literally melts in your mouth! How do they do that!!!! Prices are average, though I thought the tofu merited a special place on the menu as part of a larger entree and is an amazing value. The service was lovely, as well. read more

However, at Siam Station, it was dry and flavorless. I couldn't taste much of the basil. The chicken was also very dry. * Khao Soi ($16) - Yummmm. My favorite dish of the night. The perfect amount of curry flavor, spice, and sourness. I would come back to order this. * Tom Kha Kai w/ chicken ($15) - Extremely flavorful! The coconut was not overbearing. Ordering four dishes for four people meant leftovers. The portions were large and affordable for the amount you get! The food came out extremely fast, and the service was unbeatable. I didn't catch our server's name, but she was super kind and patient with our large party (we had ten people but split up the table). My friends mentioned that the Irvine location is really good, and I had hoped the Newport location would be the same. Very welcoming, clean and it has a modern interior. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The recommendations were spot on. Ok now the best part was how delicious the food was. We ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken and it was not your ordinary fried rice it was so good. The green curry was amazing the eggplant also delicious, we got other dishes that I don't remember the names of that were all great, just make sure you leave room for the mango sticky rice...the perfect end to a perfect meal. Let me start out by saying I used to be a regular customer getting pad thai every monday for a while. However in recent times the quality of ordering togo has declined. I think if you are dining in, the food here is very good. However out of the past 4 times I've ordered pad thai togo, all 4 times have messed up something with my order. The first 2 times they made my order non spicy at all when I ask for the maximum spice. The last two times I've ordered the crispy pork but received chicken (an extra $3 charge for nothing). Although they did correct their mistake, it was just a waste of time to drive back and get a new order. Egg rolls were so delicious!! Probably the best ones I've ever had!! The outside was nice and crisp. The wrapper was thicker than I've tasted but it went very well with the well seasoned vegetable filling. The potstickers were equally as great. The chicken inside was well seasoned and just the right amount of saltiness and crunch to make your day so much better! The Siam station fried rice was very comforting. It was well seasoned and the combination of flavors with the broccoli, onions, tomato, and spices really made you ready for a lazy rainy Saturday! We stumbled across this place as we were headed to the bars in Newport. The service was great just as soon as we walked in. We ordered fried rice, the beef salad, and khaosoi. Everything was so flavorful. Our favorite though was the khao soi, which is a northern tide dish. We also got the mango sticky rice for dessert and that was amazing. The only complaint for me was service was really slow when getting the check or trying to get our attention with the lady that was working behind the counter (took 15 minutes for her to bring the bill), and when you enter the establishment there was a sewerage smell that threw me off. The tom yum soup was more sour than sweet, and the items we got had little to no meat, especially with the crab fried rice and the soup(there were four pieces of shrimp). We had one person who has a very sensitive palate and they were able to accommodate very nicely. This seems to be a small business which we love to support.
